A$AP Rocky treats fans to an electrifying new video for his latest track, “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n),” directed by A$AP Rocky/AWGE. The song, released on July 21st, is a sneak peek into his highly anticipated upcoming album under A$AP Worldwide/RCA Records. Notably, the track boasts production credits from the multi-talented Pharrell Williams, adding to its allure.
Alongside the song release, Rocky collaborated with Beats to launch a campaign for the all-new Beats Studio Pro. In a short film titled “Iconic Sound,” directed and starring Rocky himself, the Beats Studio Pro takes center stage, showcasing the perfect blend of music and technology.
The excitement doesn’t end there; during his Rolling Loud performance, Rocky surprised fans with a sneak preview of three unreleased songs, including “STOLE YA FLOW,” further building anticipation for his forthcoming album.
As he’s travelled across the globe with Rihanna over the past few months, fans have noticed ASAP Rocky keeping busy with various filming projects, despite a lack of new music from the 34-year-old. This past weekend, he delivered “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n)” in collaboration with Pharrell Williams. Now that the song has had a moment to sink in, Rocky is back with the music video. He dropped off the footage on Tuesday (July 25). It finds the New York native riding through the streets in a massive tank, surrounded by similarly dressed figures.
The song was used in a Beats by Dre ad that finds ASAP leaving the comfortable confines of his home to go get diapers for his son, RZA, at Rih’s request. Elsewhere, it’s also sparked speculation that the happy couple secretly tied the knot without any fan fare. “My wife is erotic, I’m smokin’ ex*tic / My whip is ex*tic, my crib is a cottage,” Rocky raps over Skateboard P’s production, obviously talking about his Barbadian-born beauty.

Aside from the wedding rumours, the Testing hitmaker also suggested that he and the Bad Gal have a joint song on the way. Of course, he could also be referring to the second baby that they’re expecting together any week now with his bars. “Luxe balm up in my palm / New collab with my baby mom,” Rocky rhymes in the video above.
ASAP Rocky is obviously eager to finally share Don’t Be D*mb with the world. However, his excitement was overshadowed by rumours of beef between him, Ian Connor, and ASAP Bari this weekend. While performing his headlining set at Rolling Loud, the 34-year-old appeared to diss the embattled creatives. However, that drama has since been cleared up in the DMs. Read what Rocky said to Connor about the situation at the link below. After months of waiting to find out what Rihanna and ASAP Rocky’s son was called, some fans were surprised by the news. Despite the initial surprise that the baby’s name was RZA, in reference to the Wu-Tang alum, the actual RZA sees it as an honor. According to HipHopDX, the rapper sat down with CNN and explained his feelings about the name. “It’s a great honor to know that there’s another generation that’s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name,” he expressed. “RZA is only a name, it’s a title. So it’s an honor and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.”
On May 13th, Rocky and Rihanna’s baby celebrated his first birthday. In an Instagram post dedicated to him, Rocky revealed his name publicly for the first time. “WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN.” HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN. RZA,” he included in the caption of the post. The accompanying photo was an adorable shot of the baby sitting next to both his happy parents.
Given his status as a hip-hop legend, when RZA talks people tend to listen. Earlier this year he shouted out a new single from Burna Boy. He described the afrobeat star as “special” and operating in “his own unique chamber.” It isn’t the only time the rapper has stood up for afrobeats recently. When Lil Duval called the genre “the death of hip hop” earlier this year the Wu-Tang legend came to its defense. ““Afrobeats is Hip Hop. They basically doing their form of Hip Hop. Just like Trap was Hip Hop, just like G-Funk was Hip Hop.”
RZA also made an appearance on record earlier this year. He lent his voice to a song from Logic’s new album College Park, his first-ever independent release. What do you think of RZA’s response to Rihanna and ASAP Rocky naming their baby after him? Let us know in the comment section below.
