2KBaby Drops “Don’t Love Me Now” Ahead Of Upcoming Album

Currently gearing up for the debut of his upcoming project Scared 2 Love, 2KBaby just offered fans a new single before the album’s February release.

“Don’t Love Me Now,” which features rising Seattle musician charlieonnafriday, shows 2KBaby getting real about his upbringing and past struggles.

“I was just invisible / Thought I wouldn’t be nothin’ and I’m bein’ litеral / We was the lil’ Gs, young, outside, livin’ critical,” the 22-year-old rapped on the track, using a storytelling style similar to his viral song “OLD STREETS.”

Released in 2019, the hit drew in millions of views on YouTube and earned the young rap artist a solid fanbase. The Lousiville native eventually caught the attention of Lil Durk, who joined 2K Baby for the song’s remix.

In an interview with All Hip Hop in 2021, 2KBaby opened up about wanting to experiment with different genres in his music.

“I want to make everything,” he told the outlet. “Lately I’ve been trying to make pop and other sh*t, but I always continue to do what got me here. I always continue to make music in the lab for the streets, for my people that still love “Old Streets” and still love Lil Sage. I’m definitely trying to master everything in the background.”

Fans can catch 2KBaby’s Scared 2 Love after it drops this February 3rd. Stream “Don’t Love Me Now” below and share your take on the rapper’s new single in the comments.

2KBABY Shuts Down Fairweather Friends On His New Single, ‘Don’t Love Me Now’

Over the past few years, 2KBABY has had a rapid rise in the rap scene. But this doesn’t mean he’s forgotten where he came from — nor does it mean he’s forgotten about those who supported him and those who didn’t believe in him.

On his latest single, “Don’t Love Me Now,” 2KBABY teams up with singer Charlieonafriday to address his doubters, haters, and naysayers, noting that he made it this far without their support. Thus, he is not here for fairweather friends or fans.

“Don’t you worry about me / I can carry myself now / ‘Cause I got this on my own / So don’t you worry about me / I’m so used to being alone / It’s too late to come along / So don’t love me now,” they sing on the song’s chorus.

“Don’t Love Me Now” arrives after a successful 2022, when 2KBABY dropped his Lil Wayne-inspired mixtape, Sorry For The Hate. Next month, the Louisville-native rapper will drop another full-length project called Scared 2 Love.

In the meantime, you can check out “Don’t Love Me Now” above.

Scared 2 Love is out 2/3 via Atlantic Records. You can pre-save it here.

2KBaby Returns To ‘UPROXX Sessions’ For A Smooth Performance Of ‘Zack & Cody’

Just a few weeks after sharing his new single “Zack & Cody” with DDG, 2KBaby returned to Uproxx Studios to perform the single without his XXL Freshman partner-in-rhyme, crooning his way through the ode to the millennial Disney Channel classic.

2KBaby, who is just a year removed from his debut EP Pregame Rituals, has been building his buzz ever since via a string of single releases including “Like This,” “Ohio River,” and “Great White.” His connection with DDG for “Zack & Cody” was fortuitous, as the single was released just around the time DDG was announced as a 2021 XXL Freshman, bringing additional attention to 2KBaby.

Also contributing to that increased attention, 2KBaby partnered with Uproxx for a rapid-fire trivia game about SpongeBob SquarePants and appears on our React Like You Know panel offering his thoughts on classic videos from the likes of Trick Daddy and Trina, Busta Rhymes, and more.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.

2KBaby And DDG’s ‘Zack & Cody’ Compares Them To The Iconic Disney Channel Duo

Pontiac, Michigan rapper DDG keeps his outstanding week going with a new collaboration with 20-year-old Louisville rapper 2KBaby. The two Midwestern artists both recently moved to Hollywood to be closer to the action, so it’s only natural that they’d feel like they’re now living the sweet life — hence the title of their new song, “Zack & Cody,” named for the iconic Disney Channel duo from the 2000s sitcom The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody. Over a simple, melodic beat, the two rappers trade bouncy verses about their parallel rises to stardom.

The new song caps a pair of breakout weeks for DDG, who went from making vlogs on YouTube to pursuing a rap career using the audience he’d built on that platform. His work in that new area culminated in last year’s debut album, Valedictorian, but it was his 2021 collaborative mixtape with producer OG Parker that shot him to the peak of his mainstream exposure so far. The tape’s single “Moonwalking In Calabasas” became his signature hit and prefaced his eventual inclusion in this year’s XXL Freshman Class. Also this week, he participated in the Freshman Cypher and featured on Uproxx’s latest digital cover.

2KBaby Is A Menacing Assailant In His Gritty Video For ‘Great White’

2KBaby became a name worth knowing back in 2019 thanks to his breakout single, “Old Streets” — his first and only Gold-certified release and to this day his most popular song. Jump to the present and the Louisville native is back in action with his latest track, “Great White,” for which he recently shared a music video. In it, 2KBaby plays an unforgiving assailant, his gang robbing a man of a large amount of money and taking down a cop who attempts to stop him and his crew in their tracks.

The track is the latest in a string of releases that 2KBaby has shared since he dropped his debut project, Pregame Rituals. G Herbo, YFN Lucci, and Lil Durk lent a hand to the full-length effort, which delivered more of what 2KBaby had to show as an artist. “My music can be therapeutic, it can amp you up, it can make you cry,” the rapper said in a press release. “I’m tryna just make pop sh*t,” adding, “Music that’s gonna sell out stadiums. Global music that can reach everybody.”
