Jasiah & Crimson Child Connect With WHIPPED CREAM On “The Dark” Collaborative Single

It’s shaping up to be an exciting year for new music already, with even more on the way over the coming weeks. We’ve had several female creatives markedly making waves as of late. WHIPPED CREAM is set to further that trend with the arrival of her “The Dark” collaborative single.

The track arrived on Thursday (January 26), and gave her the opportunity to connect with Ohio-born rapper Jasiah, as well as the song’s producer, Crimson Child.

“The Dark” tells a story of toxic love and loss. The Dayton native’s operatic vocals set the scene over a soundscape of haunting keys and textured synth work.

In a press release, WHIPPED CREAM spoke candidly of her experience crafting the single. “There is love in holding on and there is love in letting go. ‘The Dark’ is inspired by the concept of picking up a rose – it looks incredibly inviting and beautiful to hold, but it can puncture the skin. It’s about a relationship where one person hasn’t cut out their toxic behaviours and although beautiful underneath,” she began.

“They still damage the one they love most. It’s learning to finally let go of what might be so beautiful yet painful and unhealthy, and head into the unknown, ‘the dark.’”

The emotional track will appear on CREAM’s Someone You Can Count On EP, due out on March 8th. Additionally, you’ll be able to find the accompanying music video on YouTube on February 1st.

Quotable Lyrics:

Your lips, your touch
Your eyes are danger
I can’t see the safer side
The dark, the depths
The endless abyss
I’m with you, I fall inside

Denzel Curry Shares The Release Date And Tracklist For ‘Melt My Eyez, See Your Future’

After teasing his new album Melt My Eyez, See Your Future with a Spaghetti Western-themed trailer, the space Western-styled video for “Walkin,” and the samurai flick homage “Zatoichi,” Denzel Curry has finally revealed the album’s anticipated release date. Set for release March 25, Melt My Eyez, See Your Future will feature appearances from 454, 6lack, Bridget Perez, Jasiah, JID, Rico Nasty, Robert Glasper, Saul Williams, Slowthai, and T-Pain. The album’s production team includes Cardo, DJ Khalil, Dot Da Genius, Jpegmafia, Kal Banx, Karriem Riggins, Kenny Beats, and Thundercat.

In a press release announcing the album’s release date, Curry detailed the album’s production process and aesthetics. “I like traditional hip hop, I like drum and bass, I like trap, I like poetry, so a lot of that is going to be interwoven in this album including jazz and a lot of genres that I came up on as a kid and just being in my parents’ house,” he said. “This album is made up of everything that I couldn’t give you on TA13OO or Imperial because I was going through depression anger issues.”

To promote the album, Curry is set to launch a world tour beginning in Denver, Colorado on April 1 and ending the month in Glasgow, United Kingdom. After a month-long swing through Europe, he’ll return to the US just in time for Governor’s Ball in New York, then complete the second leg of his US tour, wrapping up July 1 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Melt My Eyez, See Your Future is due 3/25 on Loma Vista Recordings. You can pre-save it here.

Jasiah Details The ‘Art Of War’ With Rico Nasty And Denzel Curry On Their Raucous New Song

At the beginning of 2021, all signs pointed to the new year being an exciting one for Ohio native Jasiah. The prospering act has grown thanks to pushing his limits in a number of genres and seemingly staying focused on remaining true to himself and refusing to conform at any extent. Jasiah’s latest song, “Art Of War,” finds him side by side with a pair of energetic and sharp-cutting rappers: Denzel Curry and Rico Nasty. The trio combines their high-octane energies for an absolute head-banging track, one that should be perfect for the mosh pits that are set to return at festivals later this year.

The track arrives after Jasian dropped War back in April. The 7-track effort came equipped with features from Rico Nasty, Nascar Aloe, and Pouya. However, it’s not only Jasiah that’s been busy lately. Curry reunited with Kenny Beats to drop Unlocked 1.5 earlier this year, a collaborative edition of their Unlocked project, which this time came with contributions from Arlo Parks, Benny The Butcher, Charlie Heat, Kenny Mason, Jay Versace, Sango, and more.

Rico Nasty, on the other hand, is preparing a project to release this summer, or so it seems. She recently shared an image of two prescription bottles with the caption “Rx . This summer 🎀🧚🏾.” Perhaps this means the DMV rapper will grace us with new tunes in the coming months.

You can rock out to the trio’s new song in the video above.
