When you think about the best names in alternative rap right now, Paris Texas and Kenny Mason likely top that list. Moreover, they’ve released idiosyncratic, zany, confident, and aggressive projects, singles, and visual efforts that display their versatility and tendency to merge worlds of alt-rock, grunge, and indie with fiery verses. If you want examples, look no further than the former’s 2023 album, MID AIR, and the Atlanta native’s recent extended single, “FACTS.” However, they have a new collaboration together titled “Big Bank,” which Iowa creative Billy Lemos produced. As such, let this be your intro if you’ve never heard of them before… and if you have, you probably already bumped this.
Furthermore, you might already know that this is a single for Pigeons & Planes‘ upcoming See You Next Year2. This will be their second compilation album partnered with Big A** Kids, distributed by ADA, that will also feature Monte Booker, AG Club, ICECOLDBISHOP, and many more. But back to “Big Bank”: the driving, synthetic drum beat leads the way for soaring synth pads, and for charismatic, slightly subdued, but nonetheless energized performances. Kenny Mason switches between various cadences and flows here, whereas Paris Texas’ Louie Pastel and Felix flow with ease with some witty bars sprinkled in. They’ve definitely come a long way since “Cyanide,” and 2024 will only hold greater things.
Paris Texas, Kenny Mason & Billy Lemos’ “Big Bank”: Stream
Meanwhile, following 2023’s HIGHWAY 9 EP and assisting Denzel Curry on “SKED,” Kenny Mason is also going to excel this year, no doubt. It’s exciting to see artists like him, Paris Texas, and Billy Lemos take many different approaches to these genre blends, especially when these styles have been around for so long. Hopefully there’s more material just like this on See You Next Year 2, and we see these stars rise to the heights they’re capable of overcoming. If you haven’t heard “Big Bank” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and peep some standout bars below. Also, for more great music releases around the clock, check back in with HNHH.
Quotable Lyrics I bet she likes 100 Gecs, he wants to talk red pills, I know you’re never having sex, I went to sleep in the car, Then I woke up on a jet, then I woke up to some neck, These diamonds on my neck are wet, I finally got out of debt, let’s go
Kid Cudi’s long-awaited album INSANO is finally here, and there are lots of woozy bangers, psychedelic jams, and dreamy croons to take note of. Another killer part of this album are the featured guests, including Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, and more. However, perhaps none shine brighter than Young Thug on the track “RAGER BOYZ,” as the two creatives show off ridiculous vocal chemistry and their ability to pair an instrumental so well with their vocal performances. It’s a guitar-led, low-key, melodic, and subtle trap cut about hopelessness, chaos, and struggle in the world, one whose catchiness and atmosphere doesn’t sully its message.
A big part of that is the news item on “RAGER BOYZ,” as Thugger seemingly addressed his YSL RICO case on this verse. Of course, that’s quite unlikely given how difficult it must’ve been to record a new verse from behind bars. In reality, it’s probably just a coincidence that rings eerily true today as we await what else will happen in the turbulent and confusing court battle. Elsewhere, though, Kid Cudi also comes through with some despondent bars, although his perseverance to fight back against it is the main takeaway. Also, this may seem insignificant in the grand scheme of the song, but it’s always great when a producer (Cudder, Anthony Kilhoffer, Dot Da Genius, THATS NOT IT, and Jean Baptiste, in this case) changes the timbre of certain drum patterns to switch up the beat.
Meanwhile, folks are still dissecting INSANO‘s content, lyrical references, and flow. Whether it’s the sample of an old XXXTENTACION track or Rocky’s apparent response to Drake’s alleged disses against him and Rihanna, there’s plenty to chew on here. But don’t let “RAGER BOYZ” fall under that radar. If you haven’t heard it or the album yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and peep some standout bars below. Also, for more Kid Cudi news, Young Thug updates, and more great music releases around the clock, stick around on HNHH.
Quotable Lyrics I told the judge, “I’m probably the biggest off,” I told the b***h she can’t be charging me for Saint Laurent, Yeah, I told my baby not to break the law, I told my baby mama, “Careful”, not to get involved
Blueface’s recent arrest for apparent parole violations is still pretty unclear, but folks are reacting to so many different angles for it. For example, there’s his baby mamas’ reactions, his mother’s reaction, his manager, and a whole slew of other pop culture happenings he was involved in that now seemingly took a long pause. However, it’s clear that the California rapper’s set on profiting off of this as much as he can, and what better way to do so than some music? Moreover, he just dropped the Free Blueface EP, a seven-track, 16-minute offering of West Coast jams and more traditional trap cuts.
Furthermore, features include DDG and Kevin Gates, plus Tru Carr and YungMagnificent. As far as its quality, Blueface is really doing the same thing he’s always done here, so if you’ve liked him before, you might find something to enjoy. Of course, as of late, he had dedicated himself more to pushing his own artists (mainly his baby mamas) rather than developing his own musical career. One of these is Jaidyn Alexis, who is currently beefing with the 26-year-old’s mother Karlissa Saffold once again thanks to this arrest.
In other news, it seems like his reality TV show is still happening despite this recent arrest, as Zeus Network still rolled out Rap Queens West. The “BDD” MC will accept auditions from various female rappers, and we know how that went for him in the past. Regardless, the winner will receive a whopping $1 million payout, plus a deal with MILF Music courtesy of Zeus and the label. He’s still looking for his next talent, even if the Free Blueface suggests that his own artistic days are likely mostly behind him.
Meanwhile, Chrisean Rock’s reaction to this arrest caused many fans to beg for her to avoid him. Apparently, she suggested some saddened emotions when she found out, which viewers hope won’t turn into a reconciliation. With jail time and the overall legal situation still up in the air, we can’t really make any solid bets yet. On that note, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Blueface.
Underground hip-hop artist $NOT is kicking 2024 off with a bang. It’s clear that with each release, $NOT continues to fine-tune his craft. The rapper stands as a steadfast icon, refusing to compromise or slow down. The Florida-based rapper, known for his distinct style and commitment to his roots, has teamed up with mosh pit maven ZillaKami for their latest collaboration, “0%.” Moreover, this banger, produced by Joe Reeves and The Elements, showcases the dynamic synergy between the two artists, each bringing their unique flair to the track.
Recorded in London after $NOT’s tour last summer, “0%” takes listeners on a sonic journey that mutates to perfectly fit each rapper’s style. Moreover, the track opens with $NOT’s clipped cadence over distorted blasts of bass and haunting, glitchy vocalizations. Halfway through, the tempo slows, providing the perfect canvas for ZillaKami’s signature double-time flow delivered with his characteristic growl. Furthermore, the result is a musical experience that transcends traditional boundaries, keeping listeners hooked from start to finish.
Furthermore, complementing the dualistic nature of “0%” is the visually striking music video directed by JMP. The video mirrors the song’s two-headed approach, featuring $NOT in a pristine soundstage with a souped-up foreign car and a captivating woman. As the environment around $NOT grows barren and frosty, ZillaKami takes center stage in a ruined city within a life-sized terrarium. Surrounded by black leopards, lightning flashes, and sinister rock formations, ZillaKami’s visuals add a layer of intensity to the overall aesthetic. In addition, the visual shines a new light on both artists.
However, 0%” serves as the first song of what promises to be a busy 2024 for $NOT. The 26-year-old emcee, signed to 300 Ent., had a promising 2023, releasing two standout singles: the defiant “Cruel World” and the laid-back slapper “Easter Pink.” $NOT spent a significant part of the year on the road, headlining the “Get Busy Or Die Tour.” Supported by NightLovell, EemTriplin, and DCTheDon, the tour solidified $NOT’s connection with fans from coast to coast. Moreover, as $NOT and ZillaKami join forces in “0%,” they deliver a bold and boundary-pushing musical statement.
Quotable Lyrics:
Walk up out the airport (Waddup) I feel just like a planе, ’cause Bitch, I’m fly as shit (Waddup) My bitch fly as shit (Waddup) My car fly as shit My gang fly as shit (Oh)
The various sexual assault allegations against Diddy sent shockwaves throughout the industry, both in his own career and that of so many others. Moreover, as one of music’s most prolific and wide-ranging moguls, it’s clear that this has affected a lot of pop culture these days. One question that folks had, for example, is whether Sean Combs will attend the 2024 Grammys, given his nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album for The Love Album: Off The Grid. It marks his first solo nomination since 2004, in which he won Best Rap Group/Duo Performance for “Shake Ya Tailfeather” featuring Nelly and Murphy Lee.
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Diddy will not attend this year’s ceremony, taking place on February 4. This news allegedly comes directly from one of his representatives, who spoke to the outlet about this decision as he also faces shut-outs from reality TV programs and many more consequences. Furthermore, back in December, the Recording Academy stated to Radar Online that they are “taking this matter very seriously and are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves.” If this news is true, then perhaps we will never know how the Grammys’ organizers would’ve truly handled this situation.
Regardless, we have a not-so-promising idea. For example, this is what the Recording Academy’s CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., expressed when The Hollywood Reporter asked him about other controversial figures like Louis C.K. and Dave Chappelle receiving Grammy nominations last year. “We don’t control who the voters vote for,” he stated. “If voters feel like a creator deserves a nomination, they’re going to vote for them.
“If there’s someone that’s been nominated that we don’t necessarily agree with, we’re not going to remove a nomination,” Mason Jr. continued. “We’re never going to be in the business of evaluat[ing] them on the scale of morality. Our job is to evaluate the art and the quality of the art. The thing that we can control is making sure that people that attend our events feel safe… and don’t feel threatened by anyone.” For more news and the latest updates on Diddy, stay logged into HNHH.
Lil Yachty’s 2023 centered around creative freedom: to expand into psych-pop-rock genres, push more collaborations, grow as a person and artist in his genres of choice, and make the best art possible. Fortunately, it looks like another Atlanta native will help him on that journey in 2024, too. Moreover, Faye Webster just released a new song and music video with Lil Boat titled “Lego Ring,” and it’s a very sweet and balanced cut with a lot of personality. In the visual, both artists play a Rock Band-like rhythm game in a living room with a drum set and guitar, a game which you can actually play online here.
Furthermore, Faye Webster’s light and airy croon matches up very well with Lil Yachty’s high-pitched vibrato, and their vocal effects here go to great lengths to make this a very dreamy song. After all, she is one of Steve Lacy’s main inspirations; how could this be anything less than an alt-indie-R&B jam packed with charisma? Not only that, but there’s some well-produced distortion effects here that give this typically breezy and summery cut a shoegaze-like grit. Actually, it goes pretty far to brand this duo’s unique approach to indie and rock styles, as it’s something that many other bands and musicians attempt to much more jarring results. Of course, it’s quite the cheeky cut, with lyrics that could be as dumbed-down as they are profound.

Meanwhile, we can’t wait to hear Faye Webster’s new album Underdressed at the Symphony, which comes out on March 1 with a “Lego Ring” attached. As for Lil Yachty, whether it’s Concrete trap cuts like “MO JAMS” or soundtrack excursions into space rock on “The Paradigm,” we’re sure that this streak of hits will continue to run through 2024. If you haven’t heard this cut yet, find it on your preferred streaming service. Also, check out the music video above and peep the “Secret Recipe.” MC’s verse on this song down below. As always, log back into HNHH for the latest great music releases around the clock.
Quotable Lyrics Melt me down it’s sunny, my new ring stick like honey, My wedding got tired, came all black like tires, You and me are like a dream team, always together like string beans, Your left hand up in every pic, ’cause your Lego ring is sick
The 2024 Golden Globes aired last night and fans are looking forward to all the new shows in 2024 that are soon to be released. Some of these shows center around fictional characters while others depict historical figures. These days, television’s earned movie-level quality which is why they are so highly regarded. As we enter 2024, we begin to anticipate several television shows that have been on our minds throughout the past year. Below, we’ve aimed to cover shows of all kinds and hope you learn about a new one you’ll now be tuning in for or see one you were already eagerly anticipating.
This is one of the new shows in 2024 that already has gone through some major changes. Viewers may remember the 2005 movie of the same name which starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. This series was originally announced in 2021 and was helmed by Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Francesca Sloane. Glover and Waller-Bridge also starred in the title roles. At one point, however, Waller-Bridge left and Glover continued to work on the show with Sloane. Moreover, Maya Erskine replaced Waller-Bridge. The show centers on two spies who are strangers that must portray a married couple The series is billed as a spy comedy and premieres on Amazon Prime Video with eight episodes on February 2, 2024.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (Live Action)
This is another new show in 2024 that viewers have known about for quite a while. The original Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. Viewers have held it in high regard since it ended with many of them still circulating clips and quotes from it on social media today. The characters originally appeared in a live-action movie in 2010 which was directed by M. Night Shyamalan. However, a large majority of viewers and critics did not enjoy that adaptation. Fortunately, they have expressed much more interest in this upcoming series based on the costumes, casting, and cinematography alone. The series stars Aang, a boy who must learn to master and “bend” the four elements to save the four nations from destruction. The show premieres with eight episodes on Netflix on February 22.
The Penguin
The title character of this series originally appeared in the 2022 film The Batman. He remains one of the most popular villains in the universe of Batman characters. Colin Firth plays this version of the character specifically, with many people praising the makeup team for making him unrecognizable. The series serves as a spinoff from the movie and starts a week after the events of its ending. While serving as a standalone series, executive producer and director Matt Reeves has stated it still will help connect the first and second movies, which he both directed. Moreover, the series follows Penguin’s rise to power in the criminal underworld of Gotham City. The show will begin streaming on Max in late 2024.
Griselda
This title of this new 2024 show may have caught the ears of fans of the Buffalo rap group but this is not a docuseries about them. However, it is a miniseries about the person their group is named after – Griselda Blanco. She was one of the most successful Columbian cocaine dealers in history and this series chronicles her life. Sofia Vergara stars as the title character and her long-time supporters are very eager to see her in a dramatic role like this. The show comes from the same team behind the Netflix series Narcos, which was about the life of Pablo Escobar and his cocaine empire. Griselda will premiere with six episodes on Netflix on January 25th.
Shōgun is a new show in 2024 that has some history behind it in more ways than one. It’s a remake of a 1980s mini-series, which itself was an adaptation of a 1975 novel of the same name. The original mini-series won several awards and the novel became a bestseller. Fans of both are looking forward to seeing this new series depicted on screen with modern technology of all kinds. The show follows an Englishman named John Blackthorne who ends up shipwrecked in feudal Japan in the 17th century and must navigate their culture. All the characters on the show are based on real figures in history, making the show a historical drama. Considering samurai are involved, the action sequences may pull in some viewers while the political depictions will pull in others. The series premieres on Hulu with two episodes on February 27.
Echo
Echo is a new show in 2024 that continues to expand the ever-growing world of Marvel. However, this one looks to have a much darker tone than most of their recent work. Maya Lopez first appeared in the series Hawkeye. Alaqua Cox will reprise her role as the title character in this spin-off series. Echo is deaf and a Native American of the Choctaw Nation and her heritage will be prominent throughout the series. She is also being perused by Wilson Fisk, a character viewers know from the Daredevil series.
All five episodes of the show will be released on Disney+ and Hulu on January 9. This is a first for a Disney+ Marvel series, which originally released episodes weekly. A Choctaw language dub of the show will also be released at the same time.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries
This new 2024 show is a spinoff from the first MCU series, WandaVision. The character Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, turned out to be the true villain of the series the whole time. She even got a theme song within an episode where she boasted about it. Moments like this caused fans to want a show dedicated to the character and now they’ve gotten it. By the end of WandaVision, Agatha loses her magic abilities and the series follows her as she tries to get them back.
The title of the series was originally Agatha: House of Harkness then changed to Agatha: Coven Of Chaos before being changed to what it is now. Sources have claimed these changes were all a part of the fun for Disney since the title character can change things within WandaVision and this show. The series is billed as a dark comedy so viewers can expect Agatha and her allies to get into many creatively entertaining situations. Sources say the show will premiere on Disney+ in the fall.

Fabolous’ “Freestyle Friday” series has been giving us heat for a while, and why would 2024 be any different? Moreover, he opened up the year with a new off-top song and music video, “OSHO Freestyle,” in which he recaps his Dubai travels in the visuals. The New York rapper starts the video with a phone call from his plane, and shows the lavish New Year’s celebrations and performances that he engaged in during his time there. Overall, it’s a pretty opulent cut with a thematic focus that centers it around his success and career moves after what many would argue is his peak. Fab’s still not slowing down after all these years, so the quality drop is practically nonexistent.
Furthermore, “OSHO Freestyle” uses what sounds like a dramatic and grand Middle Eastern sample to accentuate his surroundings in the music video. Perhaps that’s a misguided assumption, but the important part is that it fits incredibly well with Fabolous’ evolutionary flow. In addition, the hardened trap drums give this song a nice edge that he also displayed on recent “Freestyle Friday” entries like “Tuluminati.” That also saw the 46-year-old make a connection to his location, and we can’t complain about the results so far. As far as lyrical focus, there’s not much new here: luxury, skill, and the like.
Fabolous’ “OSHO Freestyle”: Stream & Watch The Music Video
Meanwhile, this comes amid claims from French Montana that his collaboration with Loso, “Ball Drop,” should have won a Grammy. It also follows previous freestyles, such as Drake’s Scary Hours 3challenge, in which he was as lyrically sharp and charismatic as he’s ever been in his post-prime career. But with this new offering and many others, it’s clear that we can’t box Fabolous into a specific era in which he was top-tier; he’s just too good to do so. If you haven’t heard “OSHO Freestyle” yet, check out the music video above and some standout bars below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for more great hip-hop releases around the clock.
Quotable Lyrics I would go sell everything except for our souls, Make sure the bankroll’s as big as paper towel rolls, feel me? No weapon formed, stay with our pole, ‘Cause it’s less about the story and more how it get told, n***a
Tre Savage is a new name in the game that just made a big splash with the new NBA YoungBoy-assisted single and music video “FYN” [F**k You, N***a]. Moreover, it’s a classic Southern-inspired and soulful trap beat on which Savage displays a lot of influence from the Baton Rouge native. In the track’s visuals on YouTube, a space that YB continues to dominate, they move through his Gravedigger Mountain property in Utah while on house arrest. However, it’s heartening to see that both MCs still perform with plenty of energy, charisma, and confidence for this record. With this, we think that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Tre’s output in 2024.
Furthermroe, “FYN” strikes a common balance in YoungBoy’s catalog: soulful instrumentation and samples with hardened trap drums. The claps, shuffles, hi-hats, percs, and kicks all sound crisp and infectiously groovy on this cut. In addition, they support dense electric bass, woozy guitar chords, some key arrangements, and even an organ thrown in there. Not only that, but Tre Savage comes through with some impactful lines, combative boasting, and a hardened delivery. It’s been great to see the I Rest My Case spitter collab with more artists, as he’s apparently working with the one and only B.G. soon.

Meanwhile, this new cut follows a lot of recent press for YoungBoy, during which he spoke a lot about his current state, career, and legal troubles. Another important topic during recent interviews is his relationship with substances, something that he hopes to improve upon moving forward. This move to support a burgeoning artist and show him the ropes is a win-win situation, and hopefully we get many more of those in 2024. If you haven’t heard “FYN” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and peep the music video above. Also, check out standout bars from Tre Savage below and, as always, stick around on HNHH for more great music drops around the clock.
Quotable Lyrics But f**k it, send that n***a lo’ and let’s get it to crackin’, He duck these b***hes, he official, that comin’ from Savage, I know she ratchet, that dirty b***h just set up her daddy, Follow the leader until them b***hes inside a casket
BabyDrill might be one of the hottest names in the game in 2024, and it looks like he wants to kick things off strong. Moreover, he just released a new single and music video, exclusively on YouTube at press time and not on streaming services, titled “What’s the Ticket.” Furthermore, it follows previous singles like “Watchin Now” and other big moments from the rapper’s breakout 2023, which hopefully translates into better material moving forward. This new cut is a solid indicator of that reality, displaying his penchant for warbled but charismatic flows. Not only that, but the Atlanta MC makes sure to pace himself appropriately throughout his verses to break up their progression.
Meanwhile, the instrumental on “What’s the Ticket” is a dark and menacing one with ghostly synth pads, a very faint and simple melody building off of them, and a hardened Southern trap drum pattern. It doesn’t evolve or go in any significantly new direction, so you know it’s meant to emphasize BabyDrill’s verse and wordplay. On that front, his lines are more vivid and impactful than anything else, but he still has sharper ones in the bag. “The city full of lollipops, stay away from suckers,” the “WHAT’S THE MOVE?” spitter warns after the first chorus. With eclectic ad-libs, lyrical focuses on street proficiency and larger success than his rivals, and a very light additional synth melody for the chorus, this song will make you feel untouchable on a late night drive.

Meanwhile, it will be exciting to see where DelQuristo Wilson goes from here considering his career, particularly his collaborative history. He crafted the banger “Issa Party” in support of Latto last year and also popped out on Young Nudy’s “Duntsane” in 2022. Hopefully this knack for chemistry and team-ups is a skill that keeps going up as this year draws on. If you haven’t heard BabyDrill’s “What’s the Ticket” yet, check out the music video above and peep some standout bars down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for more great music releases around the clock.
Quotable Lyrics Hold on, all them n***as dead, Whoever spoke on my brother, whoever spoke on me instead, Whoever dissed the gang, whoever went against this s**t, Who ever claim they bigger? Swear to God they acting kid, that’s on my momma
