The Men Of ‘SNL,’ Along With Jason Momoa, Can’t Help But Think About The Roman Empire, Much To The Ladies’ Chagrin

Over the past few months, several women have taken to TikTok, noting that men frequently think about the Roman empire. This has since spawned memes with people describing fixations of their own as their personal “Roman empire.” Tonight (November 18), in a hilarious music video sketch on Saturday Night Live, the men of the cast doubled down on their fascination with this age.

The video opens with the fictional wives of guest host Jason Momoa, Mikey Day, and Kenan Thompson — played respectively by Ego Nwodim, Chloe Troast, and Punkie Johnson — singing of concerns that their husbands are fantasizing about other women. Momoa then delivers a hilarious rap, ensuring that there’s not lust for other women, but rather, a desire to return to the age of the Roman empire.

As the men continue to rap about how simple of a time the age of the Roman empire must’ve been, Nwodim expresses concern that the fascination is passing along to hers and Momoa’s fictional son.

But the son expresses that he is more interested in dinosaurs, which, like the Roman empire, are in the ground.

The ladies then suggest the men take up other interests — like astrology.

Drake’s “Scary Hours 3” Sales Projections Are Here

Drake’s Scary Hours 3, which he released as a deluxe version of For All The Dogs on Friday, is expected to move 110-130k copies in the first seven days, according to Hits Daily Double. Notably, this figure marks the entirety of For All the Dogs: Scary Hours Edition and the new songs alone likely count for a smaller fraction of the total tally.

With that figure, Drake will have a chance to return to the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200. He’ll be competing with Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Dolly Parton’s Rockstar, which are both projected to fall in a similar range for sales. On the new project, Drake references competing with Swift on the song, “Red Button.” He raps: “Taylor Swift the only n***a I ever rated/Only one could make me drop the album just a little later/Rest of y’all I treat you like you never made it/Leave your label devastated even when you pad the stats period I never hated.”

They aren’t the only notable lyrics on the project. With “Stories About My Brother,” Drake calls out Joe Budden amid their ongoing feud. He raps: “And n***as bound to slip eventually, like they sent permission/Imagine us getting our validation from a ex-musician searching for recognition/Same story every time, they heckling, repetition/I’m top of the mountain, these n***as still down at base camp, they planning they expedition.”

Additionally, Drake teams up with J. Cole for a new song on the deluxe version of For All The Dogs. That collaboration comes as the two are set to embark on a tour together in January. Be on the lookout for further updates on Drake on HotNewHipHop.

Joe Budden On Drake’s “Scary Hours 3”: “I Have Absolutely Nothing To Say”

Joe Budden responded to Drake dissing him on his new project, Scary Hours 3, by refusing to comment on the songs. When asked about his thoughts on the release during the latest episode of his podcast, Budden remarked that he had nothing to say.

“Not a peep,” he admitted, as caught by Complex. “Not one word about it, not one word. Here to listen to y’all. I have absolutely nothing to say… I’m gonna keep my thoughts to myself.” Despite pressure from his co-hosts, he refused to budge. As for Drake’s bar referencing Budden, he raps on “Stories About My Brother”: “And n***as bound to slip eventually, like they sent permission/Imagine us getting our validation from a ex-musician searching for recognition/Same story every time, they heckling, repetition/I’m top of the mountain, these n***as still down at base camp, they planning they expedition.”

Joe Budden On “Scary Hours 3”

Drake and Budden have been feuding since the release of For All The Dogs. At the time, the podcast host accused Drake of “rapping for the children.” In response, Drake called out Budden on several occasions on social media. At one point, he wrote to Budden: “You left it behind to do what you are doing in this clip cause this is what actually pays your bills. For any artist watching this just remember you are watching a failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success…a quitter give their opinion on how to achieve longevity.”

Michael B. Jordan To Direct “Creed 4”

Michael B. Jordan will once again be stepping into the director’s chair for the next installment in the Creed franchise. Producer Irwin Winkler confirmed the news during Deadline’s Contenders Film: Los Angeles event on Saturday, praising Jordan for doing a “great job” on the last film. In addition to directing, Jordan will still star in the movie.

“We are planning to do Creed IV right now,” Winkler said onstage during a panel for Creed III. “We have a really good story [and] a really good plot. We got a little delayed because of the strikes, but about a year from now we’re going into pre-production.”

Jordan made his directorial debut with Creed III. While he’s opted to do so again with the next film, Jordan did previously admit that it was a difficult task. While speaking with Collider, last year, he described it as “torture.” “It’s torture, but at the same time, it’s so much fun. It was the challenge of accomplishing it all, with the multitasking nature of developing the story, trying to stay in shape, and giving all the departments what they individually needed, to go do their job,” he told the outlet.

Irwin Winkler Confirms “Creed 4”

He continued: “It’s really hard to put into words. Every day was a struggle, but honestly, it was the team of people that I had around me that got me through it. You’ve really gotta surround yourself with the right help, so that you can focus on the things you need to focus on. Sometimes that’s doing two things at one time, or three things at one time. It’s just part of the job. Once you step behind the camera, the undertaking that it is, from the outside looking in, it’s tough.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Michael B. Jordan and Creed IV on HotNewHipHop.

Paula Jai Parker Calls Out Cassie For Suing Diddy

Paula Jai Parker called out Cassie in a series of posts on Twitter, earlier this week, claiming that she’s not “built” for the industry. The rant comes following the singer’s recent lawsuit against Diddy, in which she accused the Bad Boy mogul of rape and sexual abuse.

While Parker didn’t accuse Cassie of lying about her detailed account, she did ask, “at what point does pleasing your man become all this?” She further wrote: “Take that midnight train now before you get yourself in trouble. I’m not saying it didn’t happen I’m saying she wasn’t complaining about being his ‘woman’ and the fame that came [with] it. What goes on between man and woman is just that. At what point does pleasing ur ‘man’ become all this…only chicks dating freaky millionaires.” Cassie had claimed in her lawsuit that Diddy threatened to ruin her career when she pushed back.

Parker continued: “I’m trying so hard to see the victim here, but do sex slaves usually get to pick their sex partners in 5 hotels? I think yall just don’t like [Diddy]. But he didn’t invent the game he just plays it. Hubby thinks I don’t like her, but that’s not true. I don’t like chicks that take the easy route and get mad when it doesn’t pan out. God Bless the Child who’s got his own.”

Regardless, Parker still feels Diddy should pay Cassie compensation. She explained: “But yes, I believe she deserves compensation. It was like a marriage, and she became accustomed to the lifestyle and after all that stuff she wrote she did, I don’t think he was ever really going to marry her, ew Did U read that [lawsuit]? It sounds like something out of a penny dreadful. Im tired of women making poor choices that affect us all. Setting a precedent that leaves us vulnerable…Maybe I’m jaded cause I’m here, I live it and see it everyday. The pretty ones with little talent take what they want while the rest of us depend on God. The Bible says bribery is ok in business. Give a lil 2 get ahead. So she did. He shoulda took the deal.” Diddy and Cassie reached a settlement just one day after the lawsuit was filed. Be on the lookout for further updates on HotNewHipHop.

G-Eazy shared a new trailer for his upcoming film, All Souls, on Instagram, Friday. The preview sees him star as a drug-dealing villain for the upcoming movie. G-Eazy previously made his acting debut in Hustlers back in 2019. In that film, he acted alongside Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, and more.

Emmanuelle Pickett serves as the director of All Souls, which, according to Screen Rant, will be “a look into the United States’ War on Drugs, focusing specifically on those who are forced into working with the police as a result of their own illegal activity.”

He discussed his mindset for the project during an interview with Something About Rocks, earlier this year. “My intentions are clear,” he told the outlet at the time. ” I want to reclaim the spot that was mine and I’m coming for it with aggressive, direct intention, but you have to balance that with humility and self-awareness as well.” He added: “I want to put out a truly incredible body of work that gets recognized and received in the right way. I’m really excited for this album. It’s so exciting to be having fun again. I love rap. I love getting to make music.” G-Eazy shared the first single from the project, “Tulips & Roses,” in March.

Kembe X Joins Forces With Isaiah Rashad & Hippie Sabotage On “Rolling Stoned”

Kembe X recently teamed up with Isaiah Rashad and Hippie Sabotage to drop an atmospheric new single, “Rolling Stoned.” The mellow track features hard-hitting production and catchy lyrics, proving that sometimes, simple is just better. The performer took to social media to announce the exciting drop today, describing the track as “woozy” and “wavy.” This recent collaboration follows Kembe X’s latest track with Hippie Sabotage, “Pole Vaulting.” The duo dropped the energetic single back in October.

The Chattanooga native’s laid-back flow melds well with the relaxed beat and dreamy bars.
