Kendrick Lamar Teaming Up With South Park Creators For New Musical

Just a few weeks after starting the beef that became the biggest rap story of 2024 so far, Kendrick Lamar has shared some entirely separate news. That came in the form of a reveal that he’s working on a new musical comedy film. The rapper is collaborating with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park for the film. Though it’s still pretty early in development fans are already getting excited after hearing the premise for the upcoming film.

“The film follows a young Black man interning as a slave reenactor at a living history museum who discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his” information shared about the film reads. Fans will have to wait a little bit more than a year before they can see the film when it hits the theaters on July 4, 2025. Lamar has a pretty scant history of appearing in films and on television and is almost always playing himself when he does. Check out the announcement for the upcoming musical film below.

Kendrick Lamar Working On New Musical Comedy Film

Kendrick Lamar is still currently sitting atop the Hot 100. He appears on the Future & Metro Boomin song “Like That” where he takes shots at both Drake and J. Cole in his verse. The song immediately soared to number one on the Hot 100 where its spent two weeks. It’s even challenging for a third week on the top spot after holding off Beyonce’s “TEXAS HOLD EM.” The track became Kendrick’s first ever to spent multiple weeks atop the Hot 100.

Fans now think that Drake could be hitting back with a diss track soon. Some cryptic posts he made to Instagram have fans speculating that he could be responding with a new song tonight. What do you think of Kendrick Lamar teaming up with the creators of South Park for a new musical comedy film? Do you think you’ll go out to see the film when it drops next year? Let us know in the comment section below.

Boosie Badazz Dresses Up For Bob Marley Movie In Rasta Hat & Dreadlock Wig

Boosie Badazz is a big movie fan, as evidenced by his recent controversial rant about The Color Purple pushing an LGBTQIA2+ agenda. But a lot of that fandom doesn’t have to manifest in backlash-worthy ways like that. Sometimes, it can be as simple as your choice of outfit to go see a particular flick, and his drip for the Bob Marley: One Love biopic was certainly on-brand. Moreover, the Baton Rouge MC donned a Rastafarian hat and a dreadlock wig, in addition to a yellow sweatshirt and shoes, when he went to see the film with his daughter on Wednesday (February 14).

Furthermore, this was the same day that the Kingsley Ben-Adir-starring movie released, and this take on the iconic reggae legend has mixed reviews so far. While Boosie still hasn’t dropped his review and his take on the whole thing, maybe his infamy surrounding his takedown of The Color Purple will sadly deter him from speaking his mind on this new flick. He even claimed that folks bullied him over these bigoted takes, and while we can’t say folks are wrong to do so, it’s just discussion at the end of the day. Maybe the 41-year-old wants to turn a new leaf.

Boosie Dons The Rasta Get-Up For Bob Marley Biopic: Watch

After all, Boosie recently and shockingly argued that he’s not homophobic, which might sound odd considering some of his previous comments. “I just never agreed [with] what they was pushing on the younger generation, and I spoke on that,” he told Cam Newton. “And I spoke about a couple more situations that made a lot of people turn on me: the Dwyane Wade situation. But I have gays in my family. How can I hate a gay person? My assistant, who brings in millions of dollars to me, is gay. And I just got— I want that to get off my status. I’m not like that.”

Meanwhile, the Trill Entertainment affiliate also recently made headlines for his take on the Super Bowl halftime show. Whether it was Usher and Alicia Keys’ embrace or the fantasy of having R. Kelly perform, he had a lot to say about it. We’ll see what’s the next viral and bizarrely engaging pop culture crossover we get next from this creative. On that note, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Boosie Badazz.

Rick Ross Compared To This Rapper After Revealing New Album Is On The Way

Over the past several months, Rick Ross has been quite active in dropping new tracks. Of course, the catalyst of this trend is his collaborative record with his MMG (Maybach Music Group) signee, Meek Mill. Too Good To Be True, is full of luxurious bangers. However, the album is not a watermark in Ross’s discography. That is apparent, especially when you look at the lackluster first-week sales numbers.

However, the fact that he is still willing to drop more music regularly is a privilege. Ross continues to prove that he can drop good verses on other artists’ tracks. Go listen to the new 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE and Rich Brian cut “LiGhT rAiLs.” Hopefully, we get more of those performances on the upcoming record he has just announced. In a recent video, Ross says that Champagne Moments is the name of the LP and is in the works.

That is about all we know on that front for now. In addition, Rozay also shared that he is working on funding and directing a movie, according to HipHopNMore. He’s obviously made is musically in a variety of lanes. After getting his start as a producer in The Neptunes he’s also released music of his own both as a solo artist and with his band N.E.R.D. Travis Scott Movie Will Hit Strip Club As First Stop Of Its Viewing Tour

Travis Scott’s new movie Aggro Dr1ft, a collaboration with legendary filmmaker Harmony Korine, is bound to be one of his oddest projects yet. If you’re looking for proof of that, look no further than the film’s upcoming “tour” for viewing events, which will reportedly begin at a strip club. Moreover, according to Variety, folks wanting to catch the flick will seek out bizarre venues, kicking off at Cr*zy Girls in Los Angeles on February 7 of this year. It’s unclear what other locations this tour will hit, but one thing’s for sure. From what organizer EDGLRD suggested, they aim for an immersive experience unlike traditional cinema systems.

“The distribution of Aggro Dr1ft goes beyond the limitations of the outdated moviegoing experience,” Eric Kohn, the company’s head of film strategy and development, remarked in a statement. “You don’t just watch Aggro Dr1ft. You step into a new world, and these events will allow audiences to immerse themselves in it.” Although Travis Scott’s film earned a 38% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes following its screening at the Venice Film Festival last fall, it sounds like more of an audiovisual treat than a true-blue feature. Alas, with rumors of another album coming soon, maybe that’s exactly what he wants.

Furthermore, for those curious, Aggro Dr1ft is apparently about a hitman in Miami Beach on a mission. It’s shot entirely through an infrared lens, and these tour events and screenings will pop up at select venues across the United States after February 7. In addition, EDGLRD’s visuals, plus performances from Harmony Korine and producer/composer araabMUZIK, will make up this full experience. Of course, this whole rollout is unsurprising when you look at Travis Scott’s artistry. After all, his nightclub sets while on his Circus Maximus tour showed us he’s a fan of the space.

Meanwhile, as La Flame waits to see whether UTOPIA will win a Grammy, he’s keeping as busy as ever. Hopefully Aggro Dr1ft releases in more accessible formats further down the road, but for now, it’s a cool experiment to try. Do you think it will live up to the hype? Let us know in the comments and stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Travis Scott.

21 Savage “American Dream” With Donald Glover: What We Know

Slaughter Gang’s head honcho just announced an upcoming movie on his life titled American Dream: The 21 Savage Story on Sunday (January 7). Given its reveal — a vague post from his and Donald Glover’s (also known as Childish Gambino’s) Instagram accounts — many fans didn’t know how to interpret this. Fortunately, we know a little bit more about this production at press time, so we compiled a breakdown of what you need to know about the film. American Dream: The 21 Savage Story aims to cover his arduous, complicated, but triumphant path of the American Dream which he hinted at during a Rolling Stone interview: from childhood poverty and street dangers to becoming one of the biggest rappers in the world.

First, some background. Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph was born in the UK, but moved to Atlanta at a young age. As such, he was raised in the U.S., facing hardened conditions rife with trouble before eventually climbing up the rap echelon. However, even as 21 climbed the ranks, he found himself in the middle of a high-profile case in which U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested him in 2019 for an alleged expired visa.

The “Brand New Draco” MC and his legal team fought for his right to stay, expressed anger at the unjust and punitive system, and brought national attention to this issue. Last year, they finally made him a permanent U.S. citizen and allowed him to leave the States, returning to his native country for a show. With that in mind, let’s dive into American Dream: The 21 Savage Story. If this is all just fake for an album rollout… well played, Savage.

American Dream: The 21 Savage Story: Cast & Crew

All the information in this section appears in the film’s trailer‘s description on YouTube, and it’s unclear whether these credits are just for the sneak peek or for the full-length product. Nevertheless, the upcoming movie stars the aforementioned Childish Gambino as 21 Savage, and Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin as his younger self. Savage’s connection to Donald Glover is well-documented through collaborative cuts like “monster,” “This Is America,” and “12.38.” In addition, the movie’s trailer (released on Monday, January 8) showcased a host of other actors, including Jabari Banks as (presumably) Metro Boomin. Other “special appearances” from actors include Gail Bean (presumably as his mother), Druski, Chad Lindberg, Victoria Pedretti, Young Mazino, and Natasha Lyonne.

Furthermore, four directors helmed this, including Gambino’s younger brother Stephen Glover, who previously wrote for his older sibling’s series Atlanta. Jamal Olori, Fam Udeorji, and Luis Perez also have directing credits. Stephen Glover and Olori wrote American Dream: The 21 Savage Story, whereas Udeorji and Tara Razavi are listed as producers and executive producers. Happy Place and Gilga are behind the film’s production, as well as Lionsgate, according to the trailer. The veracity of these interpretations is still up in the air.

New Music From 21 Savage

In addition to this film, 21 Savage will also release a soundtrack of music the movie inspired. It’s available to pre-save on streaming platforms right now via American Dream‘s website. Given reports that he’s already working on a new album, this is very exciting news. Fans hope that this isn’t what the 31-year-old meant when he teased new material and that this is just a supplemental project drop until his full-length solo follow-up to i am > i was.

Still, given what we heard in the film’s trailer, it looks like 21 Savage is undergoing another career level-up. The trailer actually doubles as a music video for an unreleased, soulful trap track that tackles his trials and tribulations, as well as showcases his talent and triumph. Not only that, but in the performance parts of the visual, the London-born artist raps to Glover and McLaughlin’s versions of himself. As such, die-hards expect this to be a pretty reflective and cathartic experience.

When Do The Movie & Soundtrack Come Out?

American Dream: The 21 Savage Story will release on Independence Day this year (July 4, 2024), according to the trailer’s final frames. But we’re not yet 100% sure if it will only be a theatrical release. After all, it’s very possible that it could appear on a particular streaming service, as that’s the model of choice for a lot of visual projects out there these days. Perhaps the near future will confirm this for fans.

Meanwhile, 21 Savage’s accompanying soundtrack for this biopic will reportedly drop this week on Friday, January 12, according to Billboard. It’s quite far away from the film’s release, which might be a bizarre choice for some listeners and viewers. It certainly contributed to immediate interest in American Dream, and will likely fuel that train until we get it on-screen. What’s more is that this could also be a teaser of what he will offer on his next studio album.

What Do We Expect?

Already, many fans are talking about American Dream: The 21 Savage Story with a lot of skepticism but also anticipation. This is very understandable: Drake’s Her Loss partner has a pretty spotless catalog when it comes to projects, and Donald Glover is almost a decade older than him. He’s earned Grammy nominations and became a commercially dominant giant. Moreover, he’s undoubtedly culturally impactful and artistically influential. As such, a lot is riding on this product to do him and his journey justice.

For our money, we’d love for these releases (whether it’s a film or just an LP rollout) to encapsulate the emotional heft and nuanced perspective of Mr. Right Now. Maturity, perseverance, and perception are big themes of the trailer and his career, ones that continue to evolve and prove themselves both on and off wax. Finally, this film’s most important mission is to show the world why the low-toned spitter is such an important representative of hip-hop right now, and what makes his story resonate beyond cultural, ethnic, and class lines. Beyond the violence and hedonism lies a crucial narrative of balance, accountability, and community that this movie should champion above the celebrity spectacle. For all these reasons and more, we can’t wait for whatever American Dream: The 21 Savage Story is. Let us know what you think about this rollout in the comments section below.

“The Color Purple” LGBTQ+ Themes Continue To Upset Boosie Badazz

Boosie Badazz is a man with many opinions, and he’s certainly not shy about sharing them. If you follow the 41-year-old on social media, you may have heard his controversial thoughts on The Color Purple – an Oprah Winfrey-produced product featuring acting performances from Halle Bailey, H.E.R., and Ciara, just to name a few. Though Boosie was impressed by some of what he saw on-screen, the “Mind of a Maniac” hitmaker is once again putting his foot down about the “narrative” being pushed on the public by the LGBTQ+ community.

“I HAD TO WALK OUT THIS ‘COLOR PURPLE‘ MOVIE (N TWO OTHER OLDER COUPLES WALKED OUT ALSO),’ he wrote on Twitter earlier this week. “BECAUSE I HAD MY LITTLE GIRLS WITH ME [AND] IT SEEMED LIKE A 🌈 LOVE STORY‼” Boosie added before confirming he wouldn’t let his daughter watch the new movie as a result. As backlash to his post comes pouring in, the multi-talent is now ranting about his right to his opinion.

G-Eazy Stars As A Drug Dealer In Trailer For New Film, “All Souls”

G-Eazy shared a new trailer for his upcoming film, All Souls, on Instagram, Friday. The preview sees him star as a drug-dealing villain for the upcoming movie. G-Eazy previously made his acting debut in Hustlers back in 2019. In that film, he acted alongside Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, and more.

Emmanuelle Pickett serves as the director of All Souls, which, according to Screen Rant, will be “a look into the United States’ War on Drugs, focusing specifically on those who are forced into working with the police as a result of their own illegal activity.”

Despite the upcoming acting gig, G-Eazy is still working on an untitled new album. He discussed his mindset for the project during an interview with Something About Rocks, earlier this year. “My intentions are clear,” he told the outlet at the time. ” I want to reclaim the spot that was mine and I’m coming for it with aggressive, direct intention, but you have to balance that with humility and self-awareness as well.” He added: “I want to put out a truly incredible body of work that gets recognized and received in the right way. I’m really excited for this album. It’s so exciting to be having fun again. I love rap. I love getting to make music.” G-Eazy shared the first single from the project, “Tulips & Roses,” in March.

DDG Smacks Sukihana While Filming NLE Choppa’s New Movie: Watch

If you didn’t already know, NLE Choppa recently released his new film project, Nightmare on Cottonwood, and it’s a doozy. Moreover, it stars a lot of viral stars: Funny Marco, Kai Cenat and Fanum of AMP (who Choppa recently went to “prison” with), and most notably for this story, DDG and Sukihana. Furthermore, a new behind-the-scenes clip shows the cast and crew in which the rapper, in ghost form, smacks Suki from behind. After the scene wraps, you can hear them and a lot of other team members break out in laughter, and it’s heartening to see them have a good time.

In fact, this is far from the only recent screen exploit that Sukihana enjoyed recently, although the other one is definitely more contentious. She recently joined the cast of Baddies East as a replacement at Natalie Nunn’s request, and it was chaotic to say the least. Still, that wasn’t the Delaware native’s fault, as a lot of other moving pieces made it a hectic episode. What’s more is that she was one of three additions, which all had their own storylines and feuds to handle on the Zeus Network program.

Sukihana & DDG Have A Ball While Filming Nightmare On Cottonwood: Watch

On the other hand, Sukihana’s costar DDG might have just found a new venture with this film stuff. After all, it seems like music- or hip-hop, at least- isn’t inspiring him like it used to, especially as he gains more career aspirations, exposure, and more. On Saturday (November 4), the YouTuber and MC asked for more rock-and-roll beats, labeling rap as “dry” and in need of a revamp. Maybe that’s a bit too much to handle for purists, but that’s the advantage that the genre has over any other musical offering: hip-hop can find inspiration and sonic innovation anywhere.

Meanwhile, NLE Choppa also might be tapping into the TikTok NPC livestream world, expanding his media presence. It didn’t go super well with PinkyDoll, but hey, there’s always next time. If you haven’t seen Nightmare on Cottonwood yet, you can find it on the rap artist’s YouTube channel. On that note, stay posted on HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Choppa, DDG, and Sukihana.
