Kamala Harris has released her first official presidential campaign video. The clip is set to Beyoncé’s song, “Freedom.”

“In this election, we each face a question,” Harris says in the clip. “What type of country do we want to live in?”

Later, she says, “We choose freedom,” allowing Beyoncé’s voice to ring off.

Vice President Kamala Harris made a memorable entrance during her first official visit to her campaign headquarters on Monday evening. She walked out to the powerful anthem “Freedom” by Beyoncé. A source close to Harris revealed to CNN that her team received approval from Beyoncé’s representatives to use the song throughout her presidential campaign.

Beyoncé, known for her strict clearance guidelines around her music, swiftly granted permission to Harris’ campaign on Monday, just hours before the Vice President made her entrance. While Beyoncé has not officially endorsed Harris following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not seek a second term, her quick approval for the use of “Freedom” suggests the superstar’s support for Harris.

This significant gesture underscores the cultural and political weight behind Harris’ campaign, highlighting a potential alignment with Beyoncé’s advocacy for social justice and empowerment.

Cardi B Is Really Not Feeling Popeyes’ Lemon-Pepper Wings, But The Restaurant Took Her Criticism In Stride

Cardi B had herself some Popeyes recently, and she was not pleased.

In a video posted online and archived by TMZ, Cardi was putting in a late night in the studio when she got some wings from Popeyes, wings that were clearly not up to her standards.

Cardi said, “Popeyes, y’all really fumbled with this f*cking flavor, because this flavor is not it. This lemon-pepper flavor with honey or this sweet taste on it, it’s just not good. It tastes like a f*cking Sprite soda, I don’t f*cking like it. From 1 through 10, I’ll give it a 2. I like the other one. I like the Sweet Heat. I was trying to be a little different… I was trying to do lemon-pepper, I did not thought it was going to come with a sweet kick to it. I don’t f*cking like it.”

Popeyes took the criticism in stride, though, as a representative told TMZ, “If you can’t take the heat, then get out of the kitchen. And we are in the kitchen. A lot. We welcome all Wing rankings and reviews as we believe variety is the spice of life and that’s why we have six flavors for wing enthusiasts like Cardi to enjoy.”

That said, it wasn’t a total L for Popeyes: Cardi did praise another flavor, and in a follow-up video, she expressed delight at the restaurant being open at 4 a.m. Popeyes also told TMZ that they’re going to try to get in touch with Cardi’s camp “so she can taste all their flavors next time she’s in the studio.”

As for Cardi’s lemon-pepper disappointment, here’s somebody who might have a restaurant recommendation for her.

Smino may not be the biggest star in the rap game, but man is he not one of the most consistent going right now? The St. Louis, Missouri do-it-all artist never seems to truly disappoint whether it be in terms of singles or projects. We can certainly say that as of now as well, because everything he has put out in 2024 has been nothing short of sensational. In Febraury, Smino would come back strong with “mister misfit but ain’t missed a fit in months”. This track was released to essentially remind people that he’s got it like that. Then, just a few months later, he would give us “Polynesian”. A fun summer banger with loads of character and blissful production. Now, Smino is back just before the end of July with “Nokia”.

This single sees the “Wild Irish Roses” MC tack on a Cousin Stizz feature, making it his first collaboration of the year. On “Nokia”, these two give you some bars about linking up with a female. While we would say this isn’t Smino’s best work out of the three, it is certainly another respectable outing. One of most fun moments on the record is the inclusion of the original Nokia ringtone from back in the day at the beginning. Additionally, the chorus is clever and delivered in such a goofy and creative fashion. “I sent you this s*** from a Noki-a / This b**** eat me up like some gnocchi, uh / Yeah, I whip the Tesla, it ain’t got no key, bruh / I was f***in’ shawty on the lowski, hush“. At this point we just want the new Smino album.

Chris Brown Sued By Security Guard Involved In Alleged Backstage Brawl, Fans React

Chris Brown was recently sued for upwards of $50 million. Overall, this lawsuit was also levied against none other than Yella Beezy. With the 11:11 Tour ongoing, Brown was accused of having four men beaten up backstage. As the story goes, the men were invited to VIP although once Brown recognized them, he allegedly had his guards go after them. Now, Brown is being hit with a second lawsuit in regards to the situation, although this one is from a security guard.

According to TMZ, Frederick R. Overpeck claims he was a security guard working backstage during the time of the alleged brawl. The 58-year-old says he ended up with a cracked vertebra and a messed up hip all because he tried to diffuse the situation. As he explains, one of Brown’s team members punched and kicked him during the ordeal. He also went on to describe the entire scene as some sort of “prison yard beat down.” Needless to say, some strong words indeed.

Chris Brown Sued Again

This is yet another setback for Brown on what has otherwise been a pretty successful tour. As fans explained over on The Neighborhood Talk, this is a concerning pattern. “It’s y’all defending him over this 58yo doing his job. Wild times,” one person wrote. “His fans just like the Barbs and the Beyhive. They don’t see no wrong in this man,” said another. Meanwhile, many of his fans were quick to defend him, claiming that these stories are being planted because his tour is doing well.

She noted that it is extremely anti-woman and that they would never say the same things about a man. Moreover, she takes issue with some comparing Harris to the “Hawk Tuah” girl. NBA Leaves TNT Out of Finalized Broadcast Deal Starting in 2025-26 Season

The NBA has declined Warner Bros. Discovery’s last-minute attempt to retain some of the league’s broadcast rights. According to an official statement, the NBA found that WBD’s proposal “did not match the terms of Amazon Prime Video’s offer.” Consequently, the league has finalized a long-term agreement with Amazon, Disney, and NBCUniversal for its broadcast rights.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s TNT will continue to hold the rights through the 2024-25 season under the current contract. In response to the NBA’s decision, Warner Bros. released a statement on Wednesday, expressing its intent to take “appropriate action” after accusing the NBA of “grossly misinterpreting” its contract rights.

This move marks a significant shift in the NBA’s broadcast landscape, positioning Amazon as a key player alongside established networks Disney and NBCUniversal. Warner Bros. Discovery faces the challenge of addressing the league’s interpretation of its contract.
