Rod Wave Recruits Lil Yachty & Lil Baby For “F*ck Fame”

Late last week, Rod Wave unveiled his anxiously awaited sixth studio album, Last Lap. The 23-track project boasts just a few guest appearances from Rylo Rodriguez, Lil Baby, and Lil Yachty. The latter two rappers join the Florida-born artist for the song “F*ck Fame,” which sees them delve into the trials and tribulations that can come along with fame.

The track is grounded by a mellow beat and features candid bars about fake friends, losing loved ones, and more. Overall, the song puts each artist’s talent on full display, and fans are here for the collab. “Ion expect a lil yachty and rod wave feature but ts hard,” one YouTube commenter notes. “Damn this combo fire,” another says.

Last Lap arrives just in time for Rod Wave’s tour in support of the project, which is scheduled to begin later this week. Moneybagg Yo and Toosii will accompany him on the North American leg of the tour. They’ll begin with a performance in Phoenix before hitting cities like Oakland, Sacramento, Houston, Dallas, Memphis, Detroit, Chicago, and more. The North American leg of the “Last Lap” tour will wrap up in December with a show in Ft. Lauderdale. What do you think of Rod Wave’s new track featuring Lil Yachty and Lil Baby? Chris Brown Faces Backlash In South Africa Over Upcoming Concert

Chris Brown is facing backlash in South Africa for his performance at the country’s FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. Women for Change, which advocates for the rights of women and children, has started a petition to stop the show. Sabina Walter, executive director of the group, spoke with BBC about the decision.

“When I saw the news that Chris Brown was coming to South Africa, I was shocked and deeply disappointed,” Walter said. “The petition was started to send a strong message that we will not tolerate the celebration of individuals with a history of violence against women. When someone like Chris Brown is given a platform in a country where GBV is at crisis levels, it sends a damaging message – that fame and power outweigh accountability.”

The petition has already generated over 20,000 signatures. The Change.org page cites Brown’s 2009 conviction for assaulting Rihanna during their infamous relationship. It also notes that South Africa is in the midst of a crisis of gender-based violence. “Allowing a man with such a history of violence to perform in South Africa, a country grappling with one of the highest rates of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) in the world, sends a harmful and dangerous message,” the page reads.

The backlash to Brown’s concert in South Africa comes as Investigation Discovery prepares for the premiere of its new documentary, Chris Brown: A History of Violence. It will air on the network later this month. The show will detail various allegations the controversial singer has faced throughout his career. It will also feature an interview with a new accuser. She says in the trailer, “I have not spoken about this matter publicly, but that’s the only way he can be stopped.” Be on the lookout for the documentary on October 27th. SZA Appears To Confirm Kendrick Lamar’s New Album Is Coming Soon

Rumors about Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming album have been swirling for some time. Following his explosive viral beef with Drake, legendary Pop Out show, and record-breaking “Not Like Us” music video, there are more eyes on him than ever waiting to see what he’ll do next. Fortunately for fans, his collaborators continue to drop hints that the project could be in the works and that they might get to hear it sooner rather than later.

Last week, for example, TDE affiliate Devin Malik took to X with an interesting message. “Mood cause new k dot album otwwww,” he captioned a clip of himself performing alongside Kendrick at the Pop Out. For obvious reasons, this got his followers’ hopes up.

SZA Reposts Devin Malik’s Tweet About Kendrick Lamar’s Album

Today, SZA added fuel to the fire by reposting Malik’s Tweet on her Instagram Story. Of course, this prompted big reactions from fans. “Another Kendrick and Sza collab would save generations,” one responded in RapTV‘s Instagram comments section. “Might be AOTY already,” another writes. Terrace Martin also teased Kendrick’s new project earlier this year on Instagram Live, revealing that he’s looking forward to it.

“Aye, let me tell y’all the records I’m excited for. I’m excited for YG’s album, I’m excited for Mustard’s album. I’m excited for a lot of people, but there’s two albums, I’m going cr*zy, I can’t wait ’til they drop,” he explained at the time. “Roddy Ricch album and whenever Kendrick drops his album, I’m excited for those two. Those two Compton artists is like, I’m excited. So much sh*t bubbling, you know?” What do you think of SZA reposting a Tweet about Kendrick Lamar’s new album being on the way? Tyla Expands Her Vision On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

If you’re looking for new jams to add to your rotation, we’ve got you covered with our latest R&B Season playlist update to round up the best of the best new releases this week, whether it’s within or adjacent to the genre. Leading the way is the expanded version of Tyla’s self-titled debut album, which contains a couple of new cuts at the top of the tracklist. Most notably, “PUSH 2 START” fuses all the styles that she’s been a star for as of late: Afrobeat, amapiano, R&B, and pop. In addition, the catchy flows and vocal harmonies give this record a larger than life feel while still being intimate.

Speaking of expanded deluxe editions on R&B Season, Jorja Smith has offered just that by adding some new remixes and re-imaginations of her falling or flying LP. What’s more is that they also vary when it comes to genre, with some alternate versions here indulging in jungle, garage, or even reggae. As for the “Lately” remix with Craig David, the straightforward R&B cut doesn’t deviate much from the original. But David does add some engaging vocal chemistry to one of the smoothest tracks on the original full-length.

Also, we wanted to shout out Isaiah Falls’ new two-pack LUCKY ME, which contains the solo cut “HAVE MY BABIES?” and “BUTTERFLIES” with Joyce Wrice. The latter is a very sultry and soft-spoken collaboration that drenches its bass and synth pads in reverb and adds some other embellishments like chimes, faint strings, and fuzzy wah guitar. It’s one of the more traditional R&B songs you’ll find this week, but a nevertheless relaxing one. After all, sometimes this vibe just hits the spot like no other.

Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention Mabel’s upbeat team-up with Ty Dolla $ign, “Stupid Dumb.” It creates a lot of tension before finally falling into a clubby rhythm, and its minimal approach highlights each vocal performance quite well. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season pick was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, stick around for the latest amazing musical releases around the clock.

Kendrick Lamar Fans Notice That He Credited His Barber In “Not Like Us” Music Video

Somehow, fans are still searching for new details concerning Kendrick Lamar, specifically his “Not Like Us” music video that came out months ago. Even though we’re as invested in the Drake battle as anyone else, die-hards must really be feeling desperate for new talking points or album hints if we’re out here shouting our barbers out. Fans noticed that K.Dot included barber Chris Donato Smith in the credits for the visual, along with the rest of the massive team that worked on it. In fact, if you look in the replies of the post below, some folks are under the impression that this is actually his personal barber and not for the actors on set.

Also, you will find many Kendrick Lamar haters and regular social media users alike asking different variants of the same question: Why? Why is this a topic of conversation and why do we particularly care unless our name is Chris Donato Smith or one of his loved ones? Maybe it’s a result of the Drake battle discourse reaching its peak, although we can argue that happened months ago. In addition, fans are desperate for a new album, so they’re looking for hints in the most ridiculous corners. But speaking of the Drake battle discourse…

Kendrick Lamar Fans & Haters Don’t Understand Why This “Not Like Us” Barber Credit Is Relevant: See Replies

J. Cole recently threw his hat back into the ring with his new song “Port Antonio,” on which he finally addresses the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle lyrically. Of course, he also speaks on why he deleted his Kendrick diss track and why he “pulled the plug” on his efforts. You’ve probably already seen the huge debate that this track caused, although most of it revolves around Cole’s own decisions.

As “Not Like Us” continues to dominate, Kendrick Lamar fans have a lot of other narratives and possibilities to consider. With so much to talk about, mentioning the music video’s barber is a funny detail to meme on for a bit on the Internet based on the ridiculousness of its relevance. For the love of Top, Kendrick, please drop when you feel like it’s ready. But in the meantime, Stans will probably point out your visual’s location manager next!

GloRilla & Megan Thee Stallion Pack A Punch On New Track “HOW I LOOK”

On Friday, GloRilla finally unleashed her eagerly anticipated debut album, Glorious. The project includes various features from Latto, Sexyy Red, Bossman Dlow, and more. Megan Thee Stallion even hopped on the high-octane track “HOW I LOOK,” which has quickly become a fan favorite. On it, the two femcees deliver hard-hitting bars about refusing to lower their standards, clashing with competitors, and more.

This isn’t the first time fans have heard the duo on the same song, however. They also teamed up for “Wanna Be” earlier this year, which appeared on GloRilla’s mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang. In May, they dropped a remix of the single alongside Cardi B. Glo then went on to join Megan Thee Stallion on her “Hot Girl Summer” tour. Fans can agree that the pair works well together, and fortunately, it looks like they could have more new music on the way.

During an interview with Billboard last month, Meg hinted at the possibility of a joint album. “I think that would be very fire. I ain’t gon’ say too much, but it feels like it’s going to get done,” she said at the time. Glo agreed, adding “Megan is a real rapper, and I’m also a real rapper […] We actually be talking and coming with bars on some down South gangsta sh*t. [It would be] some down South, real turnt, real rap [sh*t].” What do you think of GloRilla’s new song with Megan Thee Stallion? What about her new album Glorious? Do you think they should drop a joint album? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Pharrell Crafts A “L’EGO Odyssey” On New Song For His “Piece By Piece” Biopic: Stream

Pharrell is celebrating the release of his LEGO biopic Piece By Piece and its accompanying soundtrack, featuring some of his best, biggest, and most iconic hits along with a few new records. Moreover, one of these is the “VIRGINIA BOY” remix with Tyler, The Creator, which fans were very receptive to given their chemistry. But don’t sleep on the expansive and wondrous “L’EGO Odyssey,” which combines the producer and fashion creative’s love of drama and atmosphere with some very interesting percussive choices, otherworldly synths, and his trademark earthy playfulness.

Furthermore, “L’EGO Odyssey” kicks off with a spotlit choir, followed by crisp Latin-inspired percussion and rubbery bass. The “Beautiful” star builds the progressive and ascending instrumental with string arrangements, quirky synths, bit-crushed hits of percussion, a brass section, and eventually, more grand and orchestral drums. In addition, it’s an easy song to get absolutely lost in, something that’s always been a quality of Pharrell’s vibrant and more ambitious production efforts. Fortunately, this being a soundtrack cut doesn’t make it as forced, clean, corporate, or corny as you might expect on paper.

What’s more is that the Virginia native has much more to look forward to soon, as he will co-chair the 2025 Met Gala alongside A$AP Rocky. In all his endeavors, Pharrell stays winning. If you haven’t heard “L’EGO Odyssey” or the Piece By Piece soundtrack yet, you can find it on YouTube below or via your favorite streaming service. Down there, you can also find some standout lyrics and the comments section for you to drop your thoughts on the song. As always, come back to HNHH for the best new music drops around the clock.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Reveals He & Drake Are Putting “Finishing Touches” On Collab Album

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have OVO fans foaming at the mouth for their highly anticipated collab album, which is apparently supposed to come out this fall. While the window on that is closing every day, a lot of recent teases from both Toronto artists about their team-up inspired a lot of hope that it’s right around the corner. The latest fuel to this fire came from PND himself, who recently spoke to The Fry Yiy Show. During his appearance on the platform, he shared that he and the 6ix God only have a few finishing touches to add to the project, and he also expressed his excitement for it.

“I have had an insane week,” PARTYNEXTDOOR remarked. “So… You guys know what’s coming for you. PARTY and Drake have a classic. And we, you know, we trying to put the finishing touches on it, so… Yeah, it’s a jam-packed month for me filled with the thing that I love to do the most. Besides being a great dad, the world’s greatest dad. But that’s besides the point.” Hardcore fans know how much potential there is here for this collab album to be something truly special. Also, an October release would just be perfect, no?

PARTYNEXTDOOR & Drake Are Apparently Almost Done With Collab Album

However, not everything was peaches and cream for Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR this year, or at least, that’s what some fans speculatively theorized. A lot of online users thought that Nicki Minaj shaded the duo for working with or publicly supporting Latto and Ice Spice, two of Nicki’s femcee opps. However, nothing really came of this rumor, and it’s still just an unverified fan interpretation. In reality, we doubt that there’s any rift or lack of support within OVO and Young Money, especially in the aftermath of the Kendrick Lamar battle.

Speaking of which, J. Cole’s new song addressing both Drake and Kendrick (albeit not by name, in the latter’s case) reopened that conversation again. As important and entertaining as it is to talk about, we can’t deny that the fatigue is something that, apparently, only the fans don’t feel at this point. So we’re looking forward to how Drizzy’s PARTYNEXTDOOR collab album will create a new era.
