Nicki Minaj “Pink Friday 2” Production Credits: BNYX, Atl Jacob, Hollywood Cole & More

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 is finally here, and the sonic pallet on display is definitely one of its most standout aspects. Whether you love it or hate it, its airy and dreamy presentation, accentuated by raw percussive elements and plenty of very direct samples and interpolations, fits quite well with the style that she’s going for performance-wise on this project. As such, we’re taking a look at the LP’s production credits. There were many talented beatmakers that went above and beyond on this sequel, and you can tell the effort that they put in to craft their material. Let’s see who could’ve been the key player here.

First off, the opener “Are You Gone Already” is produced by FINNEAS, as it’s a very generous sample of Billie Eilish’s “when the party’s over.” As far as other big names, Boi-1da has a couple of credits on Nicki Minaj’s new album, namely “Needle” featuring Drake (a collab with YogiTheProducer) and “Pink Birthday” (with 116, Apollo Parker, and Fierce). Atl Jacob is anther big name, and probably the most dominant producer on this tracklist. He masterminded “FTCU,” “Fallin 4 U” (with DB!), “Let Me Calm Down” featuring J. Cole (with Hendrix Smoke and Kuji), and the single “Last Time I Saw You.

Metro Boomin Claims That Andre 3000 Played The Flute On “Mask Off”

Andre 3000’s new jazz, new age, ambient, and flute-heavy behemoth New Blue Sun is here- his first solo album ever. What’s more is that, even though this isn’t a hip-hop album, his press run for it with NPR and GQ actually yielded some pretty interesting discussions and reflections from him on the genre. Even though 3 Stacks isn’t putting out rap music of his own, he’s definitely still tapped into what’s going on right now. In fact, he’s much more in the know than you might think, so much so that he might’ve contributed to one of the biggest rap hits of the 2010s decade.

Moreover, during what seems to be Future’s birthday celebration, Metro Boomin played their collab “Mask Off.” Before letting it drop, though, he had the following bombshell claim- or, most likely, a very timely and funny joke- to say to the crowd. “Yo, I’m letting you know Andre 3000 played the flute on this motherf***er!” the producer said with a smile. Though the chances of this being true are very slim, and it seems like a light-hearted and respectful jest, the Outkast member did say he has secret performance credits on other artist’s songs. So, who knows; Metro might just be flexing on us.

Metro Boomin Plays With Fan Expectations & Invokes Andre 3000 Flute Card: Watch

“I’ve actually played some wind things that I’ve put out in the world,” Andre 3000 told GQ. “I called myself another name under different artists that are out there that, you know, I was just kinda testing it out in a way. From known artists, and they’ve been cool about keeping it secret.” Perhaps Metro Boomin finally broke that rule, but don’t get your hopes up: he knows exactly how people will hear a flute nowadays and think of the legendary MC.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis native still has his collaborative album with Future in the cards, which he’s been very excited about teasing. Maybe this is where Andre Benjamin will reconnect with his Dungeon Family colleague, and actually contribute a flute to a Metro beat. Jokes aside, it’s good to know that the HEROES & VILLAINS mastermind is up to date with the memes. For more news and the latest updates on Andre 3000 and Metro Boomin, stay up to date on HNHH.

50 Cent Honors Battle Rapper DNA With Song Shoutout During “Power” Credits

50 Cent’s TV series empire is in full swing, and Power Book IV: Force is enjoying pretty great season so far. However, for as big as the show and its head creative are, they still take some time to shout out some underground talent. Moreover, Fif included a track by battle rapper, DNA, in the end credits for the series’ eighth episode. The underground MC shared his reaction to the shoutout on Twitter, and the Queens native clearly found a kindred spirit in the Queens legend. That regional camaraderie is always important to celebrate, cultivate, and highlight in hip-hop culture, and it clearly goes a long way in opening doors and bringing new opportunities for emerging talent.

“JUST FINISHED WATCHING POWER ‘FORCE’ EPISODE 8 N GUESS WHO SONG PLAYS AT THE END OF SHOW,” DNA wrote of 50 Cent’s cosign. “GOD IS GOOD. BIG SHOUTOUT 2 @bigtankmusic. ME & MY BROTHER @warrenwint BODIED THIS. PRODUCED BY: @jazzfeezy.” Not only that, but the spitter also reinstated his social media series recapping each episode in the Power franchise, as this team-up inspired him to show them the same love that they showed him.

50 Cent Reps For Battle Rap With Power Episode Credits

In fact, 50 Cent and DNA already have history, and their previous meet-ups make this chemistry less surprising, but even more meaningful. The two met up in Houston for the G-Unit mogul’s concert for The Final Lap tour. This was the same weekend in which Ultimate Rap League hosted their Summer Madness event, for which they hung out with Smack White, URL’s co-founder. Furthermore, they all promoted the event on social media, and having everyone in the same room for it showed the passion that they all have for the art form.

DNA Shares His Recap Of Book IV: Force Episode 8

Speaking of rap battle events, DNA will soon host Halloween Havoc further into this week on Saturday (October 28). There are plenty of great matchups on the roster, with all of them centered around using wrestling-themed bars in their spats. If you want to find a little more information on that, check out the Via link below. Also, keep checking in with HNHH for more news and the latest updates on 50 Cent.

Drake’s “For All The Dogs” Credits Include Frank Ocean, DJ Screw, BNYX & Many More

For All The Dogs is finally out, and people have been sinking their teeth into it pretty deeply for the past couple of hours. As such, we now have a pretty good idea of the album’s key players: who Drake tapped behind the scenes, who’s on production, who had a hand in the writing, and so on. Interestingly enough, perhaps the most curious inclusion on the BTS FATD team is Kevin Durant as the project’s A&R. Of course, most people are more concerned with the actual song credits and the like. With that in mind, here’s a brief rundown of some notable inclusions and surprises on these tracks.

For starters, the opening track “Virginia Beach” contains a sample of Frank Ocean’s “Wiseman,” a song from around 2011-2012 that never saw an official release, so he appears as a writer on this song. “Amen” has background vocals from Monique Avant in addition to the Teezo Touchdown feature, and “Calling For You” with 21 S*vage was produced by Lil Yachty, 40, Cash Cobain, and a few others. “Fear of Heights” is one of many BNYX productions on this Drake album, which also include “IDGAF” with Yeat, “7969 Santa,” “All The Parties” with Chief Keef, and more.

Furthermore, Southside produced “Daylight” and features Drake’s son Adonis rapping. The J. Cole collab “First Person Shooter” contains production from a super-team: Tay Keith, OZ, Vinylz, Coleman, Boi-1da, and FNZ. “7969 Santa” has a wonderful and fitting Snoop Dogg outro, and “Tried Our Best” has Ty Dolla $ign assisting on vocals. Also, the “Screw The World” interlude is an homage to the legendary DJ Screw, and is actually a cover of Nas’ “If I Ruled The World.” Yachty also produced “What Would Pluto Do,” and the “BBL Love” interlude features guest vocals from soul icon Sade, as well.

Meanwhile, the Bad Bunny collab “Gently” features Gordo (formerly known as Carnage) on production, who helped with Honestly Nevermind. “Rich Baby Daddy” with Sexyy Red and SZA interpolates “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine, and SADPONY assisted with production on “Away From Home.” Finally, JeRonelle has uncredited (as a feature) vocals on a couple of tracks on For All The Dogs, including its closer “Polar Opposites.” We’re sure we missed a lot, so let us know what your favorite tracks and credit placements were in the comments. Travis Scott Criticized For Failing To Credit KayCyy For “Thank God” Feature

Travis Scott has been receiving some backlash lately, for failing to include KayCyy as a featured artist on his UTOPIA track “Thank God.” Many listeners found it to be questionable, as KayCyy performs the song’s chorus and apparently wrote a good portion of it. KayCyy himself appears to agree with the criticism, recently responding to a fan’s Tweet sharing his thoughts. “Why tf is KayCyy’s feature still hidden?” the fan wrote, “He literally wrote a large part of it and sings the entire chorus [crying emoji].”

KayCyy replied, writing “Y’all keep sending me these messages… Y’all know what I do..! I’m not no background singer… f*ck Trav!!!” Though KayCyy is credited as a songwriter on “Thank God,” fans seem to think he should be credited as a featured artist as well. It’s clear that KayCyy made a major contribution to the track, but it’s uncertain whether he’ll be credited further.

KayCyy Says “F*ck Trav!!!”

Travis Scott’s UTOPIA includes various other high-profile features, including Beyonce, Kanye West, Drake, The Weeknd, and more. After months of teasing, he dropped it at the end of July. The album’s release was accompanied by a new film, Circus Maximus, which hit theaters on July 27. The film’s description calls it a “mind-bending visual odyssey across the globe,” featuring music from UTOPIA.

The rapper was scheduled to unveil UTOPIA at a performance at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt last month, however, the show didn’t go on as planned. Following some confusion around whether or not it would take place, it was ultimately canceled due to “complex production issues.” He promised fans last week that the Egyptian show will happen eventually. “They just need a bit a time to set lay on lands,” he explained. Fortunately, the cancellation didn’t stop Travis Scott’s fans from celebrating the new album. A clip of various fans gathered at the Pyramids and singing along to his songs circulated last week. Travis Scott has since announced a “UTOPIA live” performance at Circus Maximus in Rome, which is scheduled for August 7.

Lil Uzi Vert Thanks Ken Carson For Producing “x2” Off Of “Pink Tape”

After years of anticipation, hype, and speculation, Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape boasts no shortage of highlights, collaborations, and production highlights. After all, with 26 tracks ranging across rage, plugg, contemporary trap, and metal, how could it not? Still, one particular song that many old-school Uzi fans probably appreciate is “x2,” one of the synthiest and bounciest cuts on the whole project. With expressive vocalizations, simple flows, and outlandish lyrics from the Philly MC, it’s an energizing and fun track to bump wherever. In addition, the beat features the quick and lasery synths that much of their catalog boasts, and that became part of their trademark sound.

Moreover, “x2” actually features production credits from none other than Opium signee and new school fan favorite Ken Carson. Furthermore, in a recent Instagram post showcasing their latest performance, Lil Uzi Vert thanked the rage specialist for producing the beat. “Thank you for this beat,” they wrote to Ken Carson, including a black heart and vampire emoji. What’s more is that some of Uzi’s flows and delivery actually resemble occasional collaborator Yeat’s, another important figure in the rage genre.

Of course, this also confirmed previous teases that Ken Carson participated in Pink Tape to some degree, which surely pleased fans. However, another artist that Lil Uzi Vert teased to potentially be on the album was Playboi Carti, which didn’t end up panning out. While fans expressed disappointment at that reality, not all hope vanished as Uzi’s team accidentally uploaded a Carti collab to YouTube upon Pink Tape‘s release instead of the Don Toliver-assisted “Patience.” Many hope that this suggests that a collaboration between the “wokeuplikethis*” MCs isn’t far away.

Meanwhile, Uzi confirmed that their next album will be entirely new, and not a deluxe or expanded version of Pink Tape. With that, hype once again surged for their next musical moves, as we’re sure will happen any time there’s a gap in releases. Hopefully that next project also features more Opium involvement, or goes in an entirely new direction altogether. With that in mind, come back to HNHH for more news and updates on Lil Uzi Vert and Ken Carson.
