Andrew Schulz Claps Back At O’Shea Jackson, Jr. For Calling Him “Weird”

One lyric has caused a whirlwind of hot takes and vitriol on social media. Kendrick Lamar demanded that comedians need to stop talking down on Black women. He didn’t specify which comedians, but Andrew Schulz, and the rest of the internet, seemed to think it was about him. He responded accordingly. Schulz mocked Lamar’s size and claimed that he could sexually assault the rapper if he so chose. The hip hop world did not respond kindly. O’Shea Jackson, Jr. insulted Schulz on Twitter, and the latter has decided to respond.

Jackson, Jr., the son of legendary rapper Ice Cube, dubbed Andrew Schulz a “weirdo.” He also tweeted that he used to be a fan of the comedian’s work. He felt that Schulz comments about assaulting another Black man went too far. Schulz, being the provocateur that he is, clapped back. He combatted his words about Lamar with the words used by Ice Cube on the iconic diss, “No Vaseline.” Schulz replied to O’Shea Jackson, Jr.’s tweet by urging fans: “Google ‘No Vaseline’ by Ice Cube.” The diss is among the most vile and aggressive in all of hip hop. There are multiple allusions to sodomy amongst Ice Cube’s former crew and the target of said diss, N.W.A.

Andrew Schulz Referenced Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline”

It appears as though Andrew Schulz is once again playing the hypocrisy card. By referencing Cube’s most aggressive track, he’s suggesting O’Shea Jackson, Jr. should not be offended by his jokes about Kendrick Lamar. “No Vaseline” was also accused by some, at the time of its release, due to the threats and anti-semitic remarks made against N.W.A. manager Jerry Heller in the lyrics. “With your manager, fella,” Cube raps. “F*ckin’ MC Ren, Dr. Dre, and Yella. It’s a case of divide and conquer, ’cause you let a Jew break up my crew.”

Andrew Schulz has been quick to reply to anyone who has taken umbrage with his Kendrick Lamar comments. Meek Mill took to social media to criticize Schulz’s sexual assault comments, claiming the comedian was being offensive. “White man saying they’ll rape black men openly is extreme,” he wrote. “And then say it’s just a joke.” Schulz responded with a screenshot in which Meek Mill laughed at a joke Schulz made about his sexuality. “You seemed to like it,” he noted.

Azealia Banks Isn’t Giving Up On Her War With Matty Healy Despite His Apology

When Matty Healy defended Charli XCX against Azealia Banks’ criticisms last month, he probably did not expect he’d be dealing with Banks’ ire to this day. Moreover, he recently apologized for his mean comments towards the rapper. “What a bad day, I really let myself down,” The 1975’s frontman expressed on Reddit. “I have worked so hard to move past these impulsive self-destructive and honestly quite volatile outbursts I have.

“I just feel dreadful about how I acted violent. Azealia and all obvious, flawed people all deep down have a heart and I hate that I have contributed to her mental fragility,” Matt Healy wrote of Azealia Banks. “She’s a human. This cultural discourse has become so violent in general. I don’t wanna act like I regret who I am or who have been. But Tbh at this point I feel gross even having said anything negative ever about anything — if it’s contributed to this culture.” Well, it seems like Banks didn’t really appreciate this apology that much. She took to Twitter on Friday (December 6) to call out her issues with it and with the artist as a whole.

Azealia Banks Does Not Accept Matty Healy’s Apology

“Once again, he is totally focused on letting himself down and apologizing to himself, instead of apologizing for letting me down and hurting me,” Azealia Banks said of Matty Healy. “Whoever his PR agent is needs to be fired because this entire statement includes yet another count of defamation, another count of intentionally inflicted emotional distress, and three more admissions of guilt. Matt really isn’t the clear provacatuer [sic] he thinks he is. But seriously, fire this pr agent. Because you’ve literally just handed this to me.

“1. Calling me flawed – again I’ve never met this man nor do I know him in real life,” Azealia Banks continued. “What flaws exactly,? 2. Contributed to her mental fragility – an obvious and condescending insult put in. To frame this story into one where the responsibilities for HIS actions are shared with me. Nice try. This is hinging on very stereotypical and racist rhetoric that categorizes a black woman as a naturally flawed, mentally unstable, erratic danger to herself – and any natural and response to disrespect – be deemed a symptom of some sort of inherent inability to discern. This is some trashy bell curve coded s**t and I have no clue why this man is in such a racist manner. Intent on utilizing played out social tropes to make a non case. He apologized to his fans before apologizing to me. This is demoralizing.”

Meek Mill Bashes Andrew Schulz Over Kendrick Lamar Assault Joke

Meek Mill’s music has not exactly been lighting up the world. The Philadelphia rapper’s personal life has become more of a talking point than his music. His association with Diddy has led many to question what he knows about the disgraced mogul. Then there are his tweets, in which he tackles everything from the recent election to the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. Meek Mill decided to chime in on the recent beef between Lamar and another opponent, comedian Andrew Schulz.

Andrew Schulz responded to an alleged diss from Kendrick Lamar’s album with some aggressive jokes. He claimed that he could easily overpower Lamar by sexually assaulting him if he so chose. He also said that Lamar was a hypocrite for defending Black women while working with controversial abusers like R. Kelly and Kodak Black. Meek Mill was not a fan of these jokes. “White man saying they’ll rape black men openly is extreme,” the rapper explained. “And then say it’s just a joke. Black manhood not a joke!” Meek Mill is familiar with Schulz’s comedy material.

Andrew Schulz Previously Targeted Meek Mill’s Sexuality

He was actually targeted by Schulz due to his connection with Diddy. Which is something he addressed in his tweet. “I seen the same guys saying I was gay on his stand up,” Meek Mill added. “My white friends like it’s a joke! We don’t joke like that in the black community at all.” Meek may be critical of Schulz and his propensity for joking about Black celebrities. That said, the rapper took a much lighter approach to the jokes made at his expense in March.

“The first time I laughed at being gay,” the rapper tweeted. “But don’t wit me in real life I may swing lol.” Meek Mill joins a long list of rappers and hip hop figures who have dissed Andrew Schulz for his K. Dot remarks. TDE President Punch was confused as to where the humor was in Schulz’s joke. “Did my guy say he want to sleep with Dot??,” he asked. Peter Rosenberg, meanwhile, ridiculed the comic for talking about topics he knows nothing about. “Acting like K Dot is 2 live crew,” the Hot 97 host noted. “[It] shows Schulz doesn’t actually like or understand hip hop…”

Megan Thee Stallion Producer Disses Spotify For Paying Artists “The Least”

Megan Thee Stallion and LilJuMadeDaBeat are a winning combination. The rapper and producer have teamed up to make smash hits like “Body,” “Big Ole Freak” and “Thot Sh*t” among others. They know what it takes to push a song, and reap the benefits of a massive global fanbase. Megan was listed as being among the most streamed female rappers on Spotify. Fans were thrilled, but the rapper’s producer was less so. He actually took to social media to criticize Spotify’s practices.

LilJuMadeDaBeat voiced his frustration with the streaming platform. He urged fans to listen to Megan Thee Stallion’s music on other platforms, due to the sharp difference in terms of how much the artists get paid. “I hate that y’all actually use Spotify instead of literally ANY other streaming service,” he wrote. “They pay us the least.” LilJuMadeDaBeat is far from the first artist to criticize Spotify practices. Noname previously urged fans to hold the platform accountable for how little it pays artists. Then, of course, there is Drake, who plans to file a lawsuit against Spotify for using “schemes” to boost Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” numbers.

Megan Thee Stallion Was Recently Involved In A Spotify Scandal

Megan Thee Stallion and LilJuMadeDaBeat have actually been involved in similar confusion regarding Spotify numbers. The former was accused of buying 30 million streams to boost the numbers for her self-titled album. No Jumper claimed that the same number of streams were removed from her album when it came time to count first week sales, which led to her album being repositioned on the charts. Many fans came to Megan’s defense, however, claiming that the bots that made up the additional streams were out of her control.

Megan Thee Stallion and LilJuMadeDaBeat have also had to contend with a lawsuit from Plies. The veteran rapper accused them of sampling his song “Me & My Goons” without giving proper credit. LilJu responded to the lawsuit via social media. He pointed out that the Megan Thee Stallion song “Wanna Be” actually sampled another song that was properly credited. “Big E the producer of ‘My Dougie’ credited on ‘Wanna Be,’” the producer tweeted. LilJuMadeDaBeat also noted that the original sample came out two years before Plies’ song.

Azealia Banks Claims She Allegedly Hooked Up With Drake

Azealia Banks is certainly no stranger to saying wild things online. She frequently delivers controversial hot takes on X, often sparking debates amongst both fans and critics. This week was no exception, as recently, she took to the platform to make a shocking claim about her alleged past experiences with Drake. According to her, they allegedly hooked up at least once.

“Damnnn.. you wanna suck Drake d*ck that bad?” one X user asked her. In response, she alleged that she has. “AND DID!!!!!!!!” she wrote simply. She didn’t provide fans with many more details of the alleged hookup than that, but regardless, her post has earned big reactions from Instagram users in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section. While some are surprised by her allegation, others aren’t and want to know more about the alleged encounter.

Azealia Bank Makes Shocking Allegation About Her Past With Drake

Banks’ latest wild claim comes just a few days after she showed her support for Drake after he took legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG) over Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.” She accuses UMG and Spotify of artificially boosting the song and alleges that its release could have been prevented. While this resulted in a great deal of backlash for the Toronto rapper, Banks speculates that he could actually end up making positive change.

“Oh drake DEFINITELY has the gun,” she wrote. “He’s about to crook umg and spotify on some minor legal formalities and actually be the first rapper in history to stage a heist of such epic proportions. It’s really such a lethal chess move when you really examine it. He’s going to subpoena literally every platforms records, they will not be able to cook the books- and *discover* (expose) all the shady backend parts of music streaming no one really understands… then they will all have to prove that drake is a pedophile which would make UMG and spotify look r***rded if they even did, kendrick is not going to be able to perform they not like us, and jayz is going to have officially been bodied by a singing n***a.”

Ski Mask The Slump God Clowns DJ Scheme In Heated Twitter Exchange

Ski Mask the Slump God and DJ Scheme go way back. The two artists have been working together since the 2010s, and they even had plans to release a collab album at one point. Sadly, there was seemingly a falling out between the two artists. They have not worked on a song together for a while, and DJ Scheme broke his silence as to why on December 3. The producer hopped on Twitter and alluded to Ski Mask the Slump God being someone he no longer wants to hear from.

It seems as though DJ Scheme broke his silence as a means of frustration with Ski Mask the Slump God. He claimed that people will “blame” everybody for their personal problems but themselves, and stated that he never wants to hear Ski Mask’s name again. The most alarming message, however, pertained to Ski Mask allegedly “destroying” himself. “I refuse to watch someone I love destroy themselves,” DJ Scheme wrote. “That’s the last thing I’ma say.” Except, it wasn’t. Ski Mask the Slump God trolled the the producer for bringing their personal issues into the public eye.

“Going to social media like a girl about homeboy beef,” Ski Mask wrote in a quote tweet. “You hilarious, clout up misses.” DJ Scheme fired back in the replies, urging the rapper to “tell them the truth” about the situation. During a 2024 interview with XXL, Ski Mask the Slump God admitted to going through various personal struggles in the lead up to his latest album. “I was just going through a lot of real-life sh*t, my friend,” he explained. “Other than my friends passing away and sht like that, dealing with that. My living situation, figuring out where I wanted to live.”

DJ Scheme was similarly incensed over the handling of Juice WRLD’s new album. Juice was a friend of both Scheme and Ski Mask’s, but the producer felt Benny Blanco botched the rollout for Juice’s fifth and final album. “How the hell u help put the album together and don’t post it once,” Scheme wrote. “Benny Shouldn’t Have Touched it.” Hopefully Ski Mask and DJ Scheme are able to settle their differences behind closed doors.

Cardi B Trash Talks Fans After They Criticize Old Song Snippet

Cardi B and Lauryn Hill both hit pay dirt with their debut albums. Different as their styles may be, both earned critical acclaim and Grammy wins for their fusions of pop and rap. Cardi even sampled Hill on the smash single “Be Careful.” Lauryn Hill, of course, never blessed fans with an official second album. Cardi B, oddly enough, is following the same trajectory. It’s been six years since Invasion of Privacy made Cardi a household name, and fans are still waiting on new music. It doesn’t seem to be going well.

A song snippet from 2019 made the rounds online Tuesday. The general response to the song was, uh, not positive. Fans piled on Cardi’s flow and the beat, claiming it was beneath the standard that she set on her 2018 debut. Cardi B did not respond positively to the criticism. She called detractors “dumb, stupid and overly opinionated” during an Instagram Live session. The rapper was clear about the snippet being from 2019. “Sometimes I listened to scrapped songs, or old songs [because] there might be two or three lines and I can use it on a new song,” she explained.

Cardi B Called Her Haters “Dumb” And “Slow”

Cardi B’s frustration spilled over onto Twitter. She claimed that the “overly opinionated” fans were the reason why she hasn’t released a second album yet. “This y y’all don’t get sh*t,” she wrote. This is a far cry from the optimistic Cardi B who took to Instagram Live in November. She claimed that she will bless fans with new music in 2015, and make moves on the business end of things as well. “My album will be out, my secret businesses will be out,” she asserted. “I can’t tell y’all what I’m working on,” holding her index finger to her mouth, [and] hopefully next year I get me a lil’ boyfriend.”

Many industry analysts have chastised Cardi B for repeatedly delaying her album. Joe Budden is one of the most notable examples. The podcast host took to social media shortly after Cardi’s aforementioned Instagram Live. “Wonder if I’ll get an apology for saying [blank] wasn’t dropping an album this year lol,” he tweeted. He didn’t name names, but many fans assumed he was talking about the “Bodak Yellow” star based on the timing.

Waka Flocka Flame Hints At Kanye West Album Dropping In December

Waka Flocka Flame has been out of the rap game for a minute. The artist’s last mixtape was in 2020, and his last studio album was in 2012. He’s not exactly plugged in to what’s going on at the moment. Still, he drummed up excitement on Monday night when he tweeted about Kanye West. The rapper hyped up the forthcoming West album, and even hinted at a possible release date. Fans were intrigued, especially with Waka being so specific about time period.

Waka Flocka Flame told fans that “it’s time for another Ye album.” This would not have turned many heads by itself, but it was the follow up comment that had followers intrigued. “I wouldn’t be surprised,” he wrote. “If my Gemini brother drop before the yr end.” Waka Flocka Flame tweeted this on December 2, which does not leave a lot of time for Kanye West to make good on the rapper’s prediction. Still, it’s odd how specific Waka was with regards to a West album we know is in the works. West has confirmed that his next release will be titled Bully, and that he’s been working on it throughout 2024.

Waka Flocka Flame Has Defended Kanye West’s Politics

There’s also VULTURES 3, the final installment in his collab trilogy with Ty Dolla Sign. Given the tepid response to the first two, however, it remains to be seen if VULTURES 3 will see the light of day. Bully has been touted by those in West’s inner circle as a return to form. Waka Flocka Flame and West have never actually collaborated on a song together. That said, Waka has released remixes over the instrumentals to “Blood on the Leaves” (2013) and “Real Friends” (2016). The rapper also spoken out in defense of West after the latter voiced support for President Donald Trump.

Waka Flocka Flame’s own support of Trump has come to define his public persona in recent years. The rapper drew widespread criticism for supporting Trump, then seemingly not voting come election day. He also blamed his recent string of cancelled shows on his outspoken political beliefs. “Free speech is only given to those who don’t go against the system,” he tweeted in November. “Ppl need to wake up… y’all being used for a bigger agenda.” Time will tell if the rapper’s Kanye West prediction comes true.

Nicki Minaj Throws Shots At Spotify Amidst Drake’s UMG Legal Drama

Nicki Minaj was not messing around on Monday. The rapper got on Twitter shortly after it was announced that Spotify would be releasing its Wrapped data later than usual. Fans were perplexed by the delay, and many theorized it may have to do with accusations that Drake recently leveled at the streaming platform. The 6 God alleged that Spotify and UMG were in cahoots to boost Kendrick Lamar’s streaming numbers using bots. Evidently, Nicki Minaj is supporting Drake’s cause. She questioned why Spotify was taking so long with its data. She also alluded to the platform lying.

“Show me the data,” she wrote on Monday afternoon. The rapper followed this ominous request up with a more damning comment. “Spotify ain’t gotta lie,” she explained. These critiques were intriguing, given that Nicki Minaj received two notable honors via Spotify the same exact day. She was the most streamed female rapper in November with 355 million streams. Minaj was also the most streamed female rapper of 2024 with 4.1 billion streams and counting. QC Worldwide claims the rapper is on pace to close out 2024 year with 4.5 billion streams.

Nicki Minaj Bashed Spotify For Prioritizing Drake In 2018

This is not the first time Nicki Minaj has gone after Spotify. The rapper has a history of clashing with streaming platforms, whether it be lack of promotion or perceived preferential treatment of her peers. The latter proved to be the case in 2018, when Minaj blasted Spotify for de-prioritizing her music so it could promote, of all people, Drake. “Spotify put Drake’s face on every playlist but told me they’d have to teach me a lesson for playing my music 10 mins early on #QueenRadio,” she tweeted. “Even tho they’ve been giving away my music for free for years & I am one of the top Spotify artists of all time.”

Nicki Minaj’s relationship with Drake has been hit-and-miss over the years. The two have collaborated multiple times, but there have also been rumors of tension at different points in their career. Drake said as much on 2013’s “Tuscan Leather.” It appears as though both rappers are on the same page in 2024, however. They are presenting a united front against their critics and their combative peers. Based on the numbers, it seems to be working.

Doja Cat Hints At New Music In Cryptic Video

Fans have been patiently waiting for Doja Cat’s forthcoming fifth album. She hinted at new music on Friday (Nov. 22) in a series of new posts on X. In the first clip, captioned “Let’s talk about it,” she appears ready to speak but abruptly cuts off the video, leaving her followers clamoring for more. In the second post, she simply tweeted, “vie vie vie.” On Thanksgiving, she tweeted the word “vie” in the post: “tu es ma vie,” which translates in Spanish to, “You are my life.”

Speculation began in late October when Doja wiped her X, formerly Twitter, account clean, leaving only a cryptic post that read simply, “album.” In early November, she reignited the hype by posting what appeared to be a tracklist featuring 13 songs. The list, which she quickly deleted, included five-starred tracks that she labeled as her favorites: “Cards,” “Acts of Service,” “Make It Up,” “Did I Lie,” and “Crack.” She clarified that the songs weren’t in their final sequence, adding to the intrigue. The next album will follow her hugely successful fourth album, Scarlet, released in 2023.
