Ari Lennox Shares “Waste My Time” Music Video As “age/sex/location” Tour Begins

Ari Lennox’s sophomore album was a long time coming, but when she did finally deliver, fans couldn’t thank her enough. Marking her first full-length release since 2019’s Shea Butter Baby, last year’s age/sex/location saw her working with Summer Walker, Chlöe, and Lucky Daye.

Prior to the 12-track project’s arrival, the Dreamville starlet shared an Away Message EP to set the tone for fans. After they were amazed by her latest studio effort, she quickly let them know of plans for her 2023 tour, which officially begins tonight.

As UDiscoverMusic notes, Lennox will be forming her first show at Las Vegas’ House of Blues later tonight (January 26). To celebrate the kickoff of her time on the road, the 31-year-old is treating fans to a special surprise – the music video for “Waste My Time.”

The track quickly emerged as a fan favourite on age/sex/location and has since amassed upwards of three million streams on Spotify alone.

In her visual, Lennox looks as ethereal as ever. She sweetly croons her lyrics out in a golden bikini while sitting on a cloud. Before that, though, the clip begins with her chatting with a counsellor at Cold Outside University.

When the therapist asks the R&B diva why she keeps repeating the same patterns in her relationships, she ponders. While she thinks, the song begins with, “No d*ck makin’ me stupid / No funny Valentine lovin’ from Cupid.”

“Need someone to get to it / I see you beggin’ so there ain’t no choosin’,” Lennox’s lyrics continue.

While we’re certainly excited to see what her tour has in store, the Washington native previously made it known that this trip around the country will be her last.

Madonna Biopic Axed After World Tour Announcement

If you are excited about seeing a film about the life and adventures of Madonna, you’ll have to wait. Details about the famed music icon’s biographical film emerged last year when it was rumored that Julia Fox was up for a role. The actress also spoke on meeting Madonna—whom she was famously photographed with alongside Kanye West. However, Variety reports that the anticipated film has been scrapped now that the singer has decided to embark on a world tour.

By now, the industry recognizes that Madonna moves and shakes as she pleases. So, it doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise that although her biopic already cast its lead, Julia Garner, it was tossed.

To celebrate 40 years in music, Madonna will be taking to stages across the globe. Several cities sold out in minutes, including Paris, New York, and London. Variety spoke with sources who shared that Madonna still wants to produce a biopic, but at the moment, she’s keenly focused on her tour.

The 35-city trek is slated to begin on July 15.

Meanwhile, it’s reported that Madonna made sure Garner secured the top role in her film. In July 2022, the singer detailed what it was like writing the script. She likened the experience to “hacking of my limbs.”

“I have a very long script that is really hard for me to make shorter. I’ve been whittling away at it, but it’s like hacking off my limbs,” she said while also revealing why she decided to make the leap and release a biopic.

“I’ve had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film. It was also a preemptive strike because a lot of people were trying to make movies about me,” she further stated. “Mostly misogynistic men. So, I put my foot in the door and said, ‘No one’s going to tell my story but me.”

Beyoncé Tour Is Coming, Says Mathew Knowles

Though Beyoncé’s decision to perform in Dubai led to a flurry of backlash, Mathew Knowles says his daughter’s performance unified her fans.

On Saturday, Beyoncé performed her first concert since 2018 in Dubai for the grand opening of Atlantis The Royal. The exclusive event included many high-profile attendees. However, some felt it was a poor decision for the popstar to perform in a country that upholds anti-LGBTQ laws.

Her father, Mathew Knowles, spoke to TMZ where he pushed back against the criticism. He explained that Beyoncé’s concert unified a diverse audience. At the same time, he said his daughter wouldn’t intentionally try to harm or isolate any part of her fanbase.

Ts Madison shared a similar sentiment on Monday. Madison wondered if people would share similar outrage if Bey performed in states that have anti-same sex laws.

“So y’all gone be mad at @Beyonce when she [performs] on her tour in those US States that have [anti-LGBTQ] laws in place? Or are you gone still get your tickets? The selective outrage is workin my #cozy nerves,” Madison tweeted.

After addressing the controversy, Knowles also confirmed speculation surrounding Beyoncé’s tour. He said that she’s hitting the road this year, which would mark her first headlining affair since On The Run II with Jay-Z.

Additionally, the Dubai show was rumored to be a launching pad for the upcoming tour. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates surrounding the show.

Future Rocks Strange Balaclava After Bringing Out T.I., Lil Durk, & DaBaby For “One Big Party” Tour

Future was spotted celebrating in a strange balaclava piece at a club while traveling the U.S. for his One Big Party tour. DJ Akademiks shared a clip of the rapper in the outfit, warranting a response from Marshmello. The famed DJ labeled Future his “twin.”

The viral clip was taken after Future brought out T.I., Lil Durk, and DaBaby at his tour stop in Charlotte, earlier this month.

Joining Future on the One Big Party tour are Kodak Black, Trippie Redd, Polo G, EST Gee, as well as Babyface Ray, and more. While the tour is short in length, there are still several chances to catch Future and his collaborators before the shows wrap up. Among the remaining stops are the United Center in Chicago, the Capital Arena in Washington D.C., and finally, the TD Garden in Boston.

The One Big Party tour comes after Future recently said he’s working on becoming a billionaire. Speaking with Billboard, he explained his current career goals.

“My main focus right now is just to do something I never done. One thing I never done is make a billion dollars,” he said. “Sometimes I ask questions, if I meet a billionaire, like, ‘How’d you get to where you got?’… It just helps me to understand that I’m on the right path when I talk to people that have billions.”

Continuing his hot start to 2023, Future is also up for six awards at the 2023 Grammys. The nominations include Best Rap Album (I Never Liked You), Best Rap Song (“Wait For U”), and Best Rap Performance (“Pushin’ P”).

Ari Lennox Says Her “Age/Sex/Location” Tour Will Be Her Last

After announcing her “Age/Sex/Location” North America tour last month, Ari Lennox has revealed that it will be her last. Shouting out her supporters, she told her European fans that they won’t get to witness her solo tour “due to reasons out of my control.”

“Age Sex Location will be my last tour,” she wrote on Twitter Thursday. “I love my genuine fans so much and can’t  wait to give you my all every night!!”

The “Up Late” singer then added, “Europe I love you but unfortunately there will not be a tour due to reasons out of my control. Happy holidays. See you soon Vegas!”

Following up the success of 2019’s Shea Butter Baby, Lennox released her second studio album Age/Sex/Location this past September, featuring Summer Walker and Lucky Daye.

Her upcoming 2023 tour is set to begin in January and will run until late March. Starting in Las Vegas, stops will also include New York, Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, and Nashville.

The 31-year-old sat down with Billboard earlier this year and revealed that her hit song “Queen Space” was a collaborative effort with both Summer Walker and J. Cole, who founded her label Dreamville Records.

“Summer is an IT Girl. She is modern R&B and phenomenal. [She’s] literally leading and phenomenal at it. I’m just honored that she always showed me love,” she told the outlet in October. “We reached out to her, and ‘Queen Space’ felt incomplete until Summer sent that verse in. [It] changed my life.”

“Cole came in and helped me add a beautiful pre-chorus that wasn’t there and made me fall in love with the record all over again,” Lennox added.

Following Age/Sex/Location’s debut, the album secured the 69th spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
