Sheff G & Sleepy Hallow Are Back To Tease Their Albums With Softer Vibes “Never Again” & “Upgrade My Life”

Sheff G isn’t one to consistently drop more sensual tracks, but he’s doing that this weekend with “Never Again.” It’s a brand-new promotional record for his upcoming album Proud of Myself, which comes out next Friday, November 22. This is the second offering so far, with the first being “Today.” That hit streaming on November 1. Also teasing an album in tandem with Sheff is one his New York drill counterparts, Sleepy Hallow.

He’s left off a similar vibe to G’s “Never Again,” however, it’s more of an introspective listen. Hallow’s “Upgrade My Life” is just what the title says it’s about, as he raps in a lowkey demeanor about getting his mom a more comfortable lifestyle while living lavishly himself. This single is also his second from his respective project that’s coming on December 6, READ THIS WHEN YOU WAKE UP. It’s more a trap/pop rap cut compared to Sheff G’s which is in the sexy drill vein. Him and Lil Tecca vow to fix things with women they both feel they’ve wronged too many times. If you are wanting to hear how they fare with these topics, check them out via the combo EP that includes each single called Don’t Sleep While It’s Lit -Part 2, below.

Last night, NYC and the Tri-State area packed the Barclays Center for Future and Metro Boomin’s New York stop on their We Trust You Tour.

The great weather brought out a capacity crowd to the downtown Brooklyn venue and the show couldn’t start on time because the people just kept coming. About an hour and a half after the scheduled start, the lights dimmed and Metro took the mic to let the people know that they were going to experience a performance unlike any other.

As Metro dimmed the lights and asked everyone to turn omn the lights to their phones, the smoke emitted from the front, leading to the anticipation of “King Tito” entering the stage. Jumping into hits from his 2017 self titled album before bringing out his friends from Brookjlyn.

Lola Brooke was the first to hit the stage and perform her smash “Don’t Play Wit’ It”, which was the perfect intro for Brooklyn favorites Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, who came out for two tracks, including their street anthem “Everything Lit”. NYC favorite Cash Cobain was the next guest to grace the stage with his hit “For Sure”, which features Bronx rap princess Ice Spice. No Brookly show would be complete without “mr. “Big Drip” himself Fivio Foreign, who dropped a few of his classics, including his NYC anthem “City Of Gods”.

The tour’s next stop is in Washington D.C.’s Capitol One Arena this weekend which is sure to create some rumbles in the Nation’s capitol.

Sleepy Hallow & Sheff G Drop Sexually-Charged Collab “Yes Freestyle”

Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G share a lot of things in common. Both are from the city of Brooklyn, New York, they navigate a similar drill sound palette, and each of them love getting active with women. That is the topical focus of this latest Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G collab, “Yes Freestyle”. This single has a thumping instrumental that is synonymous with this area of rap. The kicks are very potent, giving this beat some extra oomph. Additionally, Sleepy and Sheff’s flows are easy to follow and making for a catchy tune. However, a song like this from the “2055” rapper should not be a surprise to anyone at this point.

“Yes Freestyle” is just hit in the Sleepy Hallow catalog. His 2023 album, Boy Meets World, features several go-to tracks. Two of those include “A N X I E T Y” with TDE signee Doechii and “Die Young” featuring 347aidan. Both songs alone have over 300+ million streams. Additionally, one of Sleep’s most recent offerings, “Winners In Paris”, is also making some noise with over 13 million plays on Spotify. But straying away from his solo stuff, him and Sheff G are also quite the dynamic duo. “Weight On Me” is their most popular to date, but they have plenty of others out there. Maybe they should make a collab album?

Sleepy Hallow Gets Into Fight During New York Court Appearance: Watch

Sleepy Hallow courts controversy wherever he goes. The rapper was arrested on a 140-count indictment in 2023, and subsequently released on bail. He’s still awaiting a proper trial, which is why he was due for a court appearance on June 18. Unfortunately, the standard operating procedure was thrown out of the window when Hallow got into a physical altercation with an unidentified man. The rapper fought with the man in front of several stunned onlookers. One of them even captured the incident on camera.

In the video, Sleepy Hallow can be seen attacking a man who’d already fallen to the floor. Courtroom security tries to pull the rapper off the man, but he gets an extra kick in before being restrained. The incident grew even more chaotic, however, as Hallow’s resistance led to several officers falling to the ground themselves. A second video appears to capture the aftermath of the fight, as Sleepy Hallow is seen wearing handcuffs and behaving noticeably more calm. The voice of a shocked onlooker can be heard saying: “This is the stupidest sh*t I seen in my life.” It’s unclear what the legal repercussions for Sleepy Hallow’s behavior will be.

Sleepy Hallow Was Handcuffed Following The Incident

Hallow has become more known for his public antics than his music in recent months. The NY rapper made a highly-publicized appearance at Donald Trump’s presidential rally in May alongside Sheff G. Sheff G did most of the talking, but Sleepy Hallow made it clear that he was a fan of Trump when he stepped to the microphone and uttered the President’s slogan: “Make American great again,” to an excited crowd.

Sleepy Hallow’s behavior has been criticized by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. The D.A. felt it was imperative that rappers like Hallow and Sheff G be punished for their organized crimes. “They take people out, and they’re able to spend money,” Gonzalez told the Associated Press. “And they’re able to encourage others to do some of the gang violence that’s just critically important to them and their status in the community.” Hallow previously served eight months in prison for weapons possession.

Trump Hosts Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow at Bronx Rally One Year After Their 140-Count Indictment

Trump Hosts Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow at Bronx Rally One Year After Their 140-Count Indictment

Trump found some rappers to take a bag and stand next to him on stage. At a Bronx rally, Trump brought out Sheff G and Sleepy Hollow.

Sheff G tried his best to make a speech, saying people will “whisper your accomplishments and shout your failures.” Sleepy simpled let off a MAGA. And both of them were swept right off the publicity stunt stage.

Interesting co-sign for Trump. Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow were of over 32 alleged gang members arrested in a 140-count indictment in New York on May 16, 2023. This is a fun way to celebrate the one year anniversary.

According to the New York Daily News, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow treated fellow gang members to a splurging dinner at a Manhattan steak house in celebration of a 2020 shooting executred at Prospect Lefferts Gardens that killed 23-year-old Theodore Senior and injured five mores.

In addition, one of the members was awarded with a new custom gold chain referencing the street the dead man was from. According to NYPD Deputy Chief Jason Savino, the members wore matching outfits during their visit to the steakhouse.

24-year-old Sheff G, born Michael Williams, and 23-year-old, Sleepy Hollow, born Tegan Chambers, and 30 additional gang members were connected to 27 occasions of violence, which included at minium a dozen shootings. The arrested men and women are alleged members of 8 Trey Crips and 9 Way gangs.

“Sheff G is not a wannabe drill rapper. He is a legitimate person who made it good. He has gold records, he’s made a lot of money. He rented a very large house, some may call it a mansion, in Short Hills, N.J.,” Gonzalez said.

He added, “He [Sheff G] used his fame and fortune to elevate gang violence in Brooklyn.”

The investigation began after the Gardens shooting, sparked by social media disses between G and a Folk Nation gang-affiliated rapper. The shooting was executed in partnership of 8 Trey and 9 way. Authorities revealed a text message from Sheff G’s sister Williams’ stated members of the rival gangs needed “to get hit or killed.” Sheff G asked for receipts to show the executed shooting, receiving images fo the victim and news articles.

Additional acts of violence in the report include a retaliation shooting at Sheff G’s mansion. Sheff G driving to Flatbush with shooters and executing another retaliation shooting, and the kidnapping and beating of a man who is believed to have gave up Sheff G’s home location.

Sheff G was already in custody, serving two years for gun possession. He was originally slated to be released in June. The new indictment holds charges of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, weapon possession, assault and gang assault.

Sheff G And Sleepy Hallow Attend Donald Trump’s Presidential Rally

Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow are no strangers to controversy. The Brooklyn rappers were indicted on conspiracy charges in 2023, and subject to an intense, lengthy trial. Now, they’re cozying up to the former President of the United States. What a difference a year makes. Donald Trump recently held a presidential rally in New York City, and he decided to bring out Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow to vouch for his character. It’s a curious choice, admittedly, but a fascinating one nonetheless.

In footage posted by No Jumper, Trump can be seen introducing the drill stars. “Here as well is rapper Sheff G… and rapper Sleepy Hallow,” he yells to the audience. Sheff G then walks onstage, and quickly voices support for President Trump. “One thing I wanna say,” he asserts. “They always gonna whisper your accomplishments and shout your failures. Trump gonna shout the wins for all of us.” The rapper then echoes Trump’s slogan to an enthused crowd. “Make American great again!” Sleepy Hallow is present during Sheff G’s remarks but doesn’t get a chance to make any of his own.

Sheff G Endorsed The “Make American Great Again” Slogan

Sheff G has been on a mission to reclaim his career momentum after being released from prison in April. The rapper recently sat down for a profile with Complex, and claimed that he’ll transcend the drill scene that he helped pioneer in the previous decade. “I’m leaving stepping stones for everybody that’s coming up and I’m just motivating the crowd,” he posited. “So if you standing with me, you know you’re sturdy, and that’s how everybody else should feel… I’m going to prove it through everything I’m doing. They know what’s going on. They got to know what’s going on.”

This is not the first time Donald Trump has brought a rapper onstage to endorse his presidential run. He famously brought out Lil Pump during a 2020 rally in the rapper’s home state. The prestigious Lil Pump endorsement was overshadowed, though, because Trump messed up his name. “Speaking of sound, music and other things, one of the big superstars of the world, Little Pimp,” he told the Florida crowd. “There he is.” Pump took the mistake in stride and later donned a MAGA hat on stage. For better or for worse, Sheff and Sleepy Hallow’s appearance at the New York rally was nowhere near as memorable.

Sleepy Hallow Pens Another Catchy Drill Record For The Summer With “Winners In Paris”

A pretty accurate way to describe Sleepy Hallow would be a Pop Smoke lite. While you might read that as a slight, we in fact mean the total opposite. The late Brooklynite navigated drill with a grimier and darker approach. Additionally, his voice was smoky, gravelly, and had some bassy qualities to it. In the case of Sleepy Hallow, he has a deep cadence too, but not as much. Additionally, most of tracks are more on the melodic and artsy side. Unfortunately, we never got to hear a collab between these two. They would be a great yin and yang, but we can keep dreaming.

The reason we are talking about Sleepy Hallow today is because he has a new single out called “Winners In Paris.” This is the Flatbush, New Yorker’s second solo release of 2024, following up his Valetine’s Day-themed “Cupid’s Guidance.” On “Winners In Paris,” Sleepy is dealing with a woman who he really wants to get with. Unfortunately, he has a hard time changing his old ways and she is not down for the games.

The beat is minimal, but it gives a summer vibe and Hallow delivers an easy-to-follow flow that is catchy beyond belief. This has the potential to become another “2055” situation and we would not be surprised if it blows up.
