Tory Lanez Appeals Again In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case, Brief In Limbo

Tory Lanez is still appealing to vacate his sentence in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case, whose conviction resulted in a 10-year sentence. According to reported Meghann Cuniff, the brief reopening this appeal process isn’t in court records yet, but she will provide updates on developments as they emerge. Given this new revelation, folks got to debating again over whose side they believe in this legal case. For example, Drake recently took to his Instagram Story to advocate for his fellow Canadian’s freedom. Others still stand by the Houston MC, and they must all now wait for the next step in Lanez’s legal journey.

Furthermore, this brief and new appeal process is based on a December request from last year to vacate his sentence. Specifically, Tory Lanez wants the court to reevaluate his case following a new testimony from his driver and bodyguard Jauquan Smith, who had not testified previously. In addition, his legal team believes that other factors, such as his “childhood trauma” and the court’s erroneous decision to deport him, will play a role. He recently claimed that there’s unreleased video footage out there of the alleged shooting that would ruin Megan Thee Stallion’s career if it comes out. While many fans expressed heavy skepticism over this, the music executive doubled down on his claims. Not only that, but he also alleged that, since the supposed clip in question was apparently recorded by a minor, it’s not admissible as evidence in court.

It’s odd to say that a reporter had a “breakout year” much like a rapper would, but Meghann Cuniff defies all odds. Moreover, the reporter gained a lot of notoriety over the past two years thanks to her hard-working diligence and dedication while covering the Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez shooting case. In fact, she provoked the latter’s ire so much that he called her a “googly-eyed b***h,” a title that she’s happy to embrace as part of her brand. Another common title of the journalist’s is “Meghann Thee Reporter,” and we just got good news about how we can rep this moment in our everyday lives.

Moreover, he recently sat down for an interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, on which they discussed a wide range of controversial topics including Kanye West’s well-being. Given that the sports commentator found out the comedian has a take on everything, he couldn’t help but ask about this shooting case between the two rappers. After all, it’s easily one of the biggest crime stories not just within hip-hop, but across pop culture in the last few years. He didn’t pick a side here, though, instead focusing on the blame game at play and about how there’s some inherent lying here.

“It’s a difficult position,” Katt Williams began. “Because somebody’s not gonna tell the truth, and the truth has got to be told. In all circumstances, the truth has got to be told. So if you don’t wanna say she shot her, then you shot her. Power couple Rihanna and ASAP Rocky have been spotted in public various times without each other amid the latter’s current legal battle. Rocky’s accused of threatening to kill a man back in 2021. Allegedly, he held a gun to his stomach before grazing him with a bullet. The two of them were spotted out on the separately twice last week.

On Thursday, Rihanna and some girlfriends stopped by the San Vicente Bungalows, while Rocky went out in a different part of West Hollywood. On Saturday, each of them stepped out in all black looks, though they weren’t seen together. Last week, for example, ASAP Rocky’s alleged victim took to social media to reveal that he suffers from PTSD. “Just cause I seem better don’t mean I am,” ASAP Relli stated in an Instagram Story. “I’m still struck by what happen ptsd ain’t a joke.” Rocky’s attorney Joe Tacopina later told XXL that Relli’s claims are false.

“The claim is ridiculous and obviously an excuse for his poor performance on the witness stand yesterday,” he said. “In any event this is the first time he is making that claim which is obviously an attempt to create damages where none exist.” Relli was questioned in court last week, accusing Rocky of shooting four times and grazing one of his hands, leaving it injured. If you choose to roll with guns, that’s your choice, but I will tell you if you come back here with any probation violations– especially one with weapons– I will not hesitate to put you in prison for a significant period of time. Tory Lanez Denied Bail Amid Appeal In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Incident

The court denied Tory Lanez his motion for bail in his case for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, bringing an end to his legal team’s efforts. Now, as originally set out in the Canadian artist’s sentence, he will continue his appeal process while serving his ten-year prison sentence from behind bars. Said news comes via reporter Meghann Cuniff, who provided constant updates on this trial during most of its time in the public eye. Moreover, the motion maintained that Lanez “does not pose a danger to the community” and that the attack was “an isolated incident.” His legal team sought to secure his release within Los Angeles to continue working for his family.

However, this attempt was likely not ever going to pan out, according to entertainment attorney Michael Freedman, who spoke to Cuniff on Wednesday. As such, this news isn’t too surprising, although it does make Tory Lanez’s situation much more difficult. Of course, there’s still the possibility that he will undergo a successful appeal process. Tory Lanez Reportedly Refused Plea Deal, Would Have Served Four Years

Last month, Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The case surrounds Megan Thee Stallion getting shot in the foot back in 2020. The rapper had been awaiting his sentencing from behind bars for around seven months. As of now, he’s in the process of appealing his sentence, appearing in court earlier this week to request bail. The sentencing managed to stir up a lot of chatter online. Countless users continue to debate whether or not 10 years is an appropriate punishment for Lanez.

Now, new reports suggest that Lanez had the opportunity to shave off more than half of his 10-year sentence. According to VladTV, the district attorney offered the artist a plea deal, which would have seen him spending only four years behind bars. Apparently, Lanez turned down the plea deal, and opted instead to take the case to trial. Unfortunately for him, the trial didn’t work out to get him any less time than the plea deal would have had him serving.

Tory Lanez Reportedly Received Letter Of Support From A Police Chief

Tory Lanez is going to prison for the next 10 years. Although he probably won’t have to serve all 10 of those years, it is still a massive sentence. Overall, it was one that many say coming. Originally, he was facing 22 years. From there, the prosecution decided to seek a 13-year sentence. Once the judge ruled on the case, he landed at 10 years. This was ultimately due to Tory’s reckless behavior on social media following the shooting. Many found it reprehensible, and as it turns out, so did the judge.

Much has been made of the letters the judge received from famous people in relation to Tory. Well, according to Meghann Cuniff, Lanez was also getting support from those in law enforcement. New Haven Chief of Police Chris Hammann reportedly sent in a nice letter in regard to Lanez. As you will read below, he called for a lenient sentence as he believes in personal growth and rehabilitation.

“While we acknowledge the serious nature of the charges against Mr. Peterson, we also believe in the power of redemption and the potential for personal growth,” the letter explains. “Our legal system should not solely focus on punishment but should also provide opportunities for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.” Of course, Iggy Azalea and Mario are two other big names that supported Tory Lanez in this way. Both took a lot of heat for it, however, they haven’t given in to the backlash, at least not yet.

Regardless, it is interesting that Tory would have gotten support from a police chief, all things considered. Either way, it did not seem to matter in the end, much to the artist’s chagrin.
