Lil Durk Wants Blogs To “Stop Click Baiting Smurk” Amid Release Date Drama

The one-year anniversary of Lil Durk’s 7220 album is quickly approaching, and for some time now, the Chicago native has been teasing a follow-up project for fans. The 17-track effort found him working with Future, Gunna, Summer Walker, and Morgan Wallen, setting expectations high for whatever he’s got in store next. Unfortunately, some recent rap beef is beginning to overshadow excitement surrounding The Voice 2.0.

As you may have seen online earlier this week, the “Laugh Now Cry Later” collaborator seemingly reignited his past feud with NBA YoungBoy and Quando Rondo. “I can drop this single and f*ck the streets up, on God,” Durkio wrote on Instagram recently. “Your release date ain’t safe son.” Though he didn’t explicitly name-drop anyone in the post, internet sleuths assumed he was dissing the Never Broke Again artists.

Lil Durk’s Back & Forth with Quando Rondo and NBA YoungBoy

As AceShowBiz notes, YoungBoy’s Don’t Try This at Home album is due to drop sometime in April. The Louisana native has already had a busy year, previously sharing 19 titles on I Rest My Case as well as a single called, “Next.” For Quando’s part, he’s been steadily working on his forthcoming release, 1633. He’s already unveiled the cover art, also announcing that his work will be dedicated to the late Lul Pab, who lost his life in a tragic shooting last year.

“One more month,” the 23-year-old wrote. “I put my heart in this album, seen a lot of blood sweat and tears. Lost my right-hand man in front of my eyes. I love you thug, I’m going number one for you big brah.” In response to Durk’s apparent sneak diss, Quando wrote on his own Story, “Drop that shit, we all on a time schedule!” Clearly, the Savannah native is unbothered by any potential competition from his fellow rapper.

Back in Album Mode

In wake of the interesting social media exchange, blogs began lighting up with rumours of beef between OTF and NBA. For his part, the father of six is attempting to combat the drama with yet another message written on his IG Story. “If I don’t say it out loud, it’s not real,” he reminded readers before asking them to “stop click-baiting Smurk.”

“Back to album,” he confirmed, though an official release date and other details surrounding the highly anticipated project are unknown at this time. Who do you hope to see Lil Durk work with on The Voice 2.0? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Lil Durk Issues Warning: “Your Release Date Ain’t Safe Son Son”

Lil Durk’s been cooking something up but he hasn’t necessarily revealed many details. He confirmed that an album’s on the way, though he hasn’t mentioned the project’s title or a release date. However, he continues to tease its release. A few weeks ago, he announced the project would drop at midnight though fans didn’t find anything new on streaming services. Fans continue to await his follow-up to 7220, which arrived roughly a year ago.

There have been rumors about what he’s been working on. Durk and Metro Boomin haven’t lost hope surrounding their anticipation collaborative project, No Auto Durk. The two announced the project as early as 2020 but last year, they confirmed that it’s still on the way. Still, they haven’t provided a timeline of when to expect it. However, he’s also hinted at working on another collaborative project with an unnamed artist. Following the success of “Mad Max,” fans expressed how a joint project from Future and Lil Durk is long overdue.

Lil Durk Won’t Change His Release Date For Anyone

There have been a number of artists who’ve pushed back their release date in hopes that won’t collide with a bigger artist. A Boogie With Da Hoodie said as much last year when he pushed back Me Vs. Myself by a month due to Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss dropping on the same day. However, Durk isn’t shook by the competition. In fact, he said that he’s willing to drop a new single at any moment with confidence that it’ll shake up hip-hop.

“I can drop this single and f*ck the streets up on god,” he wrote on Instagram this week. “Your release date ain’t safe son son.” Though it’s unclear who this warning is directed to, it appears that he could be readying his next single sometime soon. The rapper recently expressed how his next project “ain’t regular,” so it seems that whatever he’s working on will be well worth the wait. Hopefully, he drops a release date on us or at the very least, a new single in the coming months. Check out Durk’s comments above and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

Daniel Caesar Announces Release Date For Upcoming Album “Never Enough”

Earlier this month, Daniel Caesar announced his long-awaited third studio album, Never Enough. Having teased the project since its initial confirmation, Caesar finally took to Instagram today (February 28) to reveal the drop date. The post, which highlighted April 7th, 2023 as the day when Never Enough will be streamable, was accompanied by the caption, “ready?” Having been spotty with releases since his 2019 album, Case Study 01, fans of the 27-year-old immediately flooded his comment section in anticipation of this upcoming 15-track work.

As part of the promotion for Never Enough, Caesar gave fans a taste of what he’s been brewing up in the studio recently with the releases of Do You Like Me? and Let Me Go. The former dropped first on January 27th, and depicts what the singer describes as the “90 degrees of a love triangle.” He explained the inspiration for the soft ballad further on Instagram, writing “[it’s] a song about a woman I respect deeply.” His second teaser song, which dropped on February 10th, carries a slightly more upbeat tone while still maintaining Caesar’s vulnerable and romantic essence.

Caesar’s “Never Enough” Drops On April 7th

Just from the two-song preview, Never Enough seems to still boast Caesar’s distinguishable style, but with a continuation of experimentation and added flare. In a 2022 interview with HypeBeast, the Canadian reflected on the shifts in his musical influences and genre tastes. “I’m kind of dipping into all the other influences, all of the music that I listened to growing up,” he told the publication. “I’ve always tried to take all my influences and put them in a pot and stir them up and see what happens.” Ultimately, Caesar noted his distaste for being labeled.

As the release of his first studio project with Republic Records remains more than five weeks away, Caesar continues to promote Never Enough on his socials with the album’s royal blue branding. Excited fans have expressed their anticipation for the upcoming release in his comments section. In response to his initial question, one user answered, “u know damn well we are ready.” Be sure to keep up with HNHH for more news on the release of Never Enough.

Travis Scott & Epic Records CEO Share Promising Update On “Utopia” Release Date

Among the several albums expected to drop this year, fans are anxious to hear Travis Scott’s Utopia. It’s been five years since Astroworld and Scott’s gone through the highs-and-lows of stardom within that period. He’s become one of the biggest brands in America with collaborations alongside McDonald’s, Jordan, and Fortnite to show for it. At the same time, his long-awaited “comeback” was impeded by the tragic events that transpired at Astroworld Festival in 2021.

Since the deadly crowd crush, Scott’s remained rather lowkey in the public eye. He hasn’t dropped much music since then, so it’s still unclear what we should expect from him o Utopia. Though he previously hinted at a project titled, Dystopia, the predecessor to Utopia, it appears that those plans may have been trashed and he’s gearing up to directly unleash his his fourth studio album.

Epic Records CEO Shares Update On Travis Scott’s “Utopia” Release Date

Travis Scott’s boss quietly revealed when we should expect the project last month. In a resurfaced excerpt from Sylvia Rhone’s cover story for Billboard’s Women In Music 2023’s Executive Of The Year, she outlined what to expect from the label, including a timeframe for Scott’s forthcoming effort. “We have a new Travis Scott record, expected to come in June,” Rhone’s said before giving a shout out to Future. “Last year, Future delivered the biggest album of his 10-year career at the company. How many hip-hop artists can do that and still be relevant?”

The resurfaced excerpt comes shortly after Travis Scott announced that his upcoming album would arrive after the rest of the Cactus Jack roster releases their respective projects. It seems that the campaign began this morning when Don Toliver released Love Sick. “We got Faygo about to put a little EP out. That’s on the way. And right after that, Utopia,” he said during a concert. So, it seems like Utopia will be coming out just in time for the summer, if all goes to plan. Just before that, he informed fans that Utopia was coming soon during a celebrity softball game. Check out Scott’s announcement above.

Chris Brown Shares “Psychic” Music Video Featuring Jack Harlow

Chris Brown has shared a music video for his song, “Psychic,” featuring Jack Harlow and starring Cassie. The piece was directed by Cameron Dean and sees Brown in a futuristic city. Brown teased working with Cassie on the video in a post on Instagram, earlier this week. “Psychic” was featured on the tracklist for Brown’s 2022 album, Breezy. The album debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200.

The release comes as Brown continues his ongoing Under The Influence headlining tour. He’s got stops planned at London’s renowned O2 Arena, Paris’ Accor Arena, and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, among others. At one of Brown’s recent stops at the 3Arena in Dublin, he welcomed a fan on stage to perform a lap dance for them while he sang “Take You Down” from his 2007 album, Exclusive. “DUBLIN WAS AMAZING! Love y’all,” he wrote on Instagram after the show.

Chris Brown’s “Psychic” Video

Headlines haven’t been all positive for Brown in recent days. Last week, he went back and forth with Kiely Williams of the Cheetah Girls. Williams brought up his history of abuse allegations in response to the announcement that he’s working with Chlöe Bailey on a song that’s releasing later this week. “Let him come out with his own record—so genius, so captivating that it makes us all forget HE BEATS WOMEN. He can’t so he wont. So what does he do?” she wrote when quote-tweeting Bailey. “He slowly creeps back into the mainstream by getting small nods for features on Black Women’s merit. Black women who are more talented, more worthy, but give him the okay.”

Brown fired back on his Instagram Story, seemingly referencing his infamous assault of Rihanna. “If y’all still hate me for a mistake I made as a 17-year-old please kiss my whole entire a–,” Brown wrote. “I’m fucking 33. I’m so tired of y’all running with this narrative… you weird ass n****s are the same ones that tune in every week to see Blueface and Chrisean beat the fuck out each other in front of the world. But that’s ok? It’s entertainment? All y’all can suck my dick disrespectfully.”

Drake Teases “Spin Bout U” Music Video

Drake says that he’ll be releasing the music video for his Her Loss song, “Spin Bout U,” with 21 Savage, later this week. The Toronto rapper made the announcement in a post on Instagram, Monday morning. In doing so, he shared a picture of a clapperboard from the set, revealing that it was filmed back in January.

Drake released “Spin Bout U” on the tracklist for Her Loss when the album dropped back in November 2022. The song peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Banbwoi and 40 produced the track, which contains a prominent sample of “Give Me Your Lovin” by Oobie. Drake and 21 Savage have already released music videos for their collaboration “Jumbotron Shit Poppin,” as well as the Honestly, Nevermind single, “Jimmy Cooks.”

Her Loss itself debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 while moving 404,000 album-equivalent units. The feat marked Drake’s 12th and 21 Savage’s third number-one album in the U.S. Travis Scott provided the only credited feature on the album, which came on the 10th track, “Pussy & Millions.” It was produced by Cheeze Beatz, Go Grizzly, Squat Beats, B100, and Lil Yachty.

While performing with 21 Savage at the Apollo Theater in Harlem last month, Drake announced that the two will be going on tour this summer. “I was telling them earlier but, if you guys enjoy that experience, feel free to come see me and my brother this summer,” he told the crowd. It will be Drake’s first co-headlining tour since 2018’s Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour. 21 Savage previously co-headlined The Off-Season Tour alongside J. Cole in 2021.

He also hinted at dropping another album at some point this year. “I deeply appreciate everybody for continuing to support us,” Drake said later in the show. “I’ve thought about a bunch of things in life, but at this moment in time none of those things are stopping making music for you, so I’ll be here for you for a little bit at least. And I hope I can strike up more emotions for you. Maybe this year, I might get bored and make another one, who knows.”

Beyoncé Teases “Favorite Drop” Yet For Ivy Park

Beyoncé says that Ivy Park’s next release is her “favorite drop to date.” The full park trial collection will be available on Thursday, February 9. Beyoncé teased the pieces in a post on Instagram, Wednesday, sharing a photo of herself in a sports bra and cargo pants. “My favorite drop to date. Check out the full PARK TRAIL collection, available 2/9/23,” she captioned the picture.

The post comes after news broke that the clothing line with Adidas missed internal sales projections by over $200 million last year. The Wall Street Journal reports that Beyoncé is still earning $20 million a year from the deal. They also cite internal documents showing Ivy Park did roughly $40 million in sales in 2022, down from $93 million in 2021. The company estimated they’d cross $250 million in sales for 2022.

Beyoncé’s IG Post

Last month, Ice Spice and Offset teamed up with Beyoncé to promote the brand. Ice Spice later reflected on her experience working with the legendary singer during an interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1. “You know she’s smart and professional,” Ice Spice shared. “She went through for me proper channels and she did everything right. I really was, she’s so real. She’s such a boss. It’s a honor that Beyoncé picked me to be part of this campaign and shit, but I can’t say too much on it yet. So, it’s going to be out soon though.”

In addition to her work on Ivy Park, Beyoncé is embarking on her Renaissance World Tour, later his year. Tickets for the shows went on sale, earlier this week. The sales sparked pandemonium among fans as they rushed to secure a spot at the concerts. In a press statement, Live Nation shared that fan demand for the U.S. shows exceeded available seats by over 800%. “It is still expected that the majority of interested fans will not be able to get tickets,” they said. “Demand drastically exceeds supply.” The tour is scheduled to begin on May 10, 2023, at Friends Arena in Stockholm. Ticket prices range form $62 and up, varying by city. It will be her first solo tour since the Formation World Tour in 2016.

SXMPRA Shares New EP, “The Evil In Which We Thrive”

SXMPRA has released his first EP to date, The Evil In Which We Thrive, featuring his recent singles, “GOD MODE!,” “LOCKJAW,” and “JDM DRIFT EDIT VERY TRENDY HOUSE PHONK!.” His close friend and collaborator Dozy Doe produced the project.

The EP kicks off with “GOD MODE!,” which features a blend of hardcore hip-hop and nu-metal sounds. SXMPRA discussed the making of the track at the time of its release, last month.

“’GOD MODE!’ was made in the exact same setting as “LOCKJAW,” but only the day before,” SXMPRA stated. “Dozy made this beat after I suggested he watch the movie Midsommar, which he found himself inspired by. This track doesn’t necessarily have a story behind it, but a story can be found in the pure aggression of the track. It’s up for interpretation!”

After the newest single, “JDM DRIFT EDIT VERY TRENDY HOUSE PHONK!,” the project moves onto “LOCKJAW!”

“Dozy and I created this song with the intention of having a catchy element while still staying true to both of our usual gritty sounds,” SXMPRA said in a statement. “We aimed to create a dark atmosphere paired with a high tempo and aggressive top line that snatches the listeners attention, drawing them in and keeping them intrigued with multiple switch ups.”

SXMPRA cites XXXtentacion, Suicideboys, as well as Pouya as inspirations for his sound, which blends elements of rap and rock together.

Later this month, SXMPRA will be hitting the road to promote The Evil In Which We Thrive. He will be joining New Zealand-based rapper Lil Bubblegum for the tour, “Holy Guap!” They’ll be hitting seven cities in the U.S. and Canada during a 10-day period. The tour kicks off on February 7th at The Echo in Los Angeles before hitting Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Toronto. It eventually concludes at Elsewhere Zone One in New York City on February 17th.

“USA + CANADA WE’RE COMING FOR YOU!” SXMPRA announced on Twitter back in December, before adding, “THE HOLY GUAP! TOUR, A 7 STOP TOUR ACROSS USA & CANADA! TICKETS ON SALE NOW AT http://sxmpra.com or http://lilbubblegum.com.”

Check out SXMPRA’s EP, The Evil In Which We Thrive, below.

“The Batman Part II” Will See Robert Pattinson Return To The Big Screen In 2025

Many were initially taken aback by Robert Pattinson landing the lead in the latest reboot of The Batman. Now that they’ve seen what he’s capable of in the suit, though, the world is eagerly awaiting the superhero film’s sequel.

A follow-up to the Matt Reeves-directed project was greenlit last April, and earlier this week, a release date was shared. As Variety reports, the earliest fans can expect to see the Twilight alum back in character alongside Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman will be in late 2025.

The sequel’s synopsis remains under wraps for the time being. However, we do know it’s a part of DC’s new “Elseworlds” category. James Gunn previously announced that any film or television series that doesn’t fall in the main DC Universe will be a part of this realm, similar to their DC Comics section.

Other upcoming projects on the same roster include Joker: Folie à Deux via Todd Phillips. Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, that movie is expected to arrive on October 4th, 2024. Additionally, there’s the ongoing animated series, Teen Titans Go! and a separate Superman film written by Ta-Nehisi Coates and produced by J.J. Abrams.

The latter of the two first made headlines in 2021 and has remained in active development since. At this time, executives are excitedly awaiting the arrival of a screenplay draft to review.

Pattinson and Reeves plan to continue their work with the DC Elseworlds Batman franchise. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t see someone else conquer the role in the DC Universe. Variety notes that a Batman & Robin movie is on the way for that category. It’s specifically based on “The Brave and Bold” comics.

For his part, the director also has another big project on his mind – Colin Farrell’s Penguin character spinoff series. Earlier this month, Reeves confirmed his plans to meet with Gunn to ensure that the “BatVerse” and the larger DC Universe don’t collide. Instead, he hopes the two stories are able to support each other.

Upon its debut, The Batman grossed $770 million worldwide at the box office. It’s currently available for streaming on HBO Max, or on Crave in Canada.

Lil Yachty Unveils New Album Artwork & Release Date

New music from Lil Yachty has been a long time coming. Thankfully, the 25-year-old announced on Tuesday (January 17) that he has plenty on the way before the month comes to an end.

Earlier this afternoon, the “Poland” artist dropped off the cover art and official release date for his highly anticipated Let’s Start Here project. The effort’s artwork sees a series of distorted faces – men and women – manically laughing while wearing suits.

In his caption, Yachty announced an arrival date of January 27th. “Chapter 2. Thank you for the patience,” he later added.

Let’s Start Here marks the Georgia native’s first release since August 2021’s BIRTHDAY MIX 6. For that EP, he teamed up with friends like Lil Tecca (“Virgo World”) and DC2Trill (“Three Six Talk” and “Lord of the Beans”). It remains unclear if the rapper presently has any plans to collaborate on his upcoming album.

As Genius notes, Yachty first teased his work in May of last year. At the time, he wrote on social media, “I try not to tweet ‘cuz I know y’all want [the] album… I’ll come back with that, best one yet. Promise.”

By early October, his “Poland” single was making serious waves about what’s next for the SoundCloud star. At that time, he promised his project in the new year. However, he was granted an unfortunate Christmas gift when the entirety of his work leaked under the name SONIC RANCH on December 25th.

A few days later, Yachty clarified that the title was inaccurate. Still, he planned to move forward with dropping his album in the new year. The official cover, title, and release date still wound up leaking a few days early thanks to a vinyl release website.

In other news, earlier this month the “Yacht Club” artist was on the hunt for an all-female band. Read more about his latest musical endeavours here, and check back later for more hip-hop news updates.
