Issa Rae Serves Natural Body In Pink Ivy Park Bikini Amid “Barbie” Movie’s Massive Success

Issa Rae has come a long way from her Awkward Black Girl days. Her HBO series, Insecure, helped people fall in love with the multi-talent both on-screen and off. Now she’s continuing to flex her writing skills with her successful Rap Sh!t show. As we eagerly await the second season premiere of that next month, Issa’s fans have gotten their fix of her talent thanks to Barbie, which finally arrived in theatres on July 20. The 38-year-old appears alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the President of Barbieland. She previously admitted to taking notes on Vice President Kamala Harris’ behaviour for her role.

The highly anticipated movie’s press tour ended early due to the ongoing SAG strike. This allowed Issa to head back home and enjoy the summer sunshine. Like many of her castmates, she’s been wearing plenty of pink lately, with her most recent look coming from Beyonce’s Ivy Park collection. On Sunday (July 22), the Los Angeles native’s Instagram feed lit up with a new series of photos that show her sipping a drink by the pool in a brightly coloured, strappy bikini.

According to a tweet from @PopCrave, Rae’s latest project has locked down the biggest domestic opening of 2023, biggest opening ever for a female director, and biggest opening for a movie based on a toy. In addition to that, it’s officially become the lead actors’ most successful opening in their careers to date.

Beyonce Gifts “Barbie” Soundtrack Artists Pink Ivy Park Collection

Beyonce recently sent a special surprise to some artists featured on the Barbie soundtrack. Nicki Minaj, whose song alongside Ice Spice “Barbie World,” appears on the soundtrack shared a photo of her gift today. “To the OG Barb,” Beyonce’s letter to Nicki begins, “I hope you enjoy my new collection.” The background of Nicki’s photo includes a variety of hot pink, sparkly clothing items. Nicki wasn’t the only one to receive a gift from Beyonce, as Mark Ronson also shared some photos on Twitter of the gifted collection. He posed on a sidewalk in a glittery pink tank top, noting that when Queen Bey sends you her new collection, “you might as well take all your other clothes off.”

The new film’s soundtrack, Barbie: The Album also features Lizzo, The Kid LAROI, PinkPantheress, Khalid, and more. Beyonce just wrapped up the European leg of her “Renaissance” tour, sharing some photos alongside her husband on social media. She posed with Jay-Z in a sweet series of photos on Instagram.

Mark Ronson Rocks Beyonce’s New Collection

Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, has also been joining her mother onstage at several tour dates lately. The 11-year-old has been showcasing her dance moves, and most viewers have been impressed. Some, on the other hand, have been critical. YouTuber Tasha K, for example, had some less than flattering things to say about Queen Bey’s daughter. “I need her to take a trip to the projects, alright? Her local rec center, local kids club, leave Blue Ivy down there for one week and let’s see if she’s able to loosen up,” she said. She added, “I just think Blue Ivy just needs a little bit of tweaking. If I’m paying $2,000 a seat, I don’t wanna see a robot up there. She look like the iRobot that be vacuuming my floors.”

After Blue Ivy’s grandmother Tina Knowles chimed in about negativity, Tasha K backpedaled a bit. “I am a Beyoncé fan,” she said. She added, however, that she has the right to “speak her mind.” “When you are charging that much money, and I’m a fan, and I voice a concern, because I’m leaving a Yelp review and a Google review. When I leave three stars on Google, instead of you saying ‘Ma’am, I understand,’ why are you sending this witch to my door?,” she asked.

Beyonce And Adidas Part Ways

Screen Shot 2023 03 24 at 1.08.38 AM

Four years ago Beyoncé partnered with Adidas for the relaunch of her athletic/leisure line Ivy Park for an icon celebrity drop that had the girls (and guys) in a frenzy.

Now, the partnership has come to a bitter end.
The Hollywood Reporter reports:

Beyoncé and Adidas are breaking up.

A source close to the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter that the Grammy-winning entrepreneur and the German lifestyle brand have mutually agreed to part ways.

In 2018, Beyoncé entered a creative partnership with Adidas, where she relaunched her Ivy Park activewear line and also developed new footwear and apparel for the brand.

But there has apparently been major creative differences between Ivy Park and Adidas, and Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path and maintain creative freedom.’

Beyoncé & Adidas Reportedly End Ivy Park Partnership

Adidas suffers another heavy hit as they conclude their deal with Beyoncé and Ivy Park. The world watched as Kanye West unraveled online with Nazi propaganda, resulting in a dramatic end to his Yeezy partnership with the brand. As the company navigates how it will move products, The Hollywood Reporter offered a new update about their connection with Bey. According to the outlet, they’ve spoken with “a source close to the situation,” who revealed that the singer and Adidas have “mutually agreed to part ways.”

It was further alleged that Beyoncé was struggling to maintain the relationship with Adidas behind the scenes. “There has apparently been major creative differences between Ivy Park and Adidas,” reported THR. “And Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path and maintain creative freedom.” Also, murmurs about discontent have been ongoing in recent months regarding Ivy Park’s sales. Beyoncé and Adidas partnered in 2018, two years after Ivy Park’s arrival. The brand was further hyped with its elaborate unveilings by celebrities gifted with special apparel deliveries.

Beyoncé & Adidas Made Magic

When Bey & Co. ended their deal with Topshop in 2018, she retained full ownership. The most recent line of Adidas x Ivy Park apparel, Park Trail, came in January. It was bolstered by the music icon’s epic—and controversial—performance in Dubai. It was Beyoncé’s first live show in five years, and Ivy Park was expected to fly off the shelves, as usual. However, in early February, the Wall Street Journal reported Ivy Park “missed internal sales projection by over $200 million” in 2022. Further, Bey still made $20 million a year from her Ivy Park contract.

Additionally, WSJ broke down the numbers: in 2022, sales were “roughly” $40 million. It sounds like a good year, but it’s much less than the $93 million earned in 2021. Adidas projected $250 million in sales for 2022, and for 2023, they believed they would make $335 million. That projection has been changed to $63 million. It’s suggested that this is why Ivy Park x Adidas has come to an end. It’s unclear what the immediate future holds, but if there’s another final drop on the horizon, fans are sure to eat it up. Will you miss Ivy Park x Adidas?

Beyoncé And Adidas Have Mutually Agreed To End Their Ivy Park Partnership

Beyoncé and Adidas have mutually agreed to end their partnership, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Beyoncé will retain ownership of her Ivy Park brand.

It was first reported in February that the partnership was troubled; according to internal earnings documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, the Ivy Park brand had underperformed under Adidas to the tune of a $200 million loss. When the partnership was first signed in 2019 after Ivy Park moved from TopShop, it was expected that Beyoncé’s name would bring in the sales — however, while Adidas expected $250 million in sales, it only brought in around $40 million.

The Journal‘s also reported creative differences between Adidas and Parkwood, the title under which Beyoncé operates her disparate business ventures, as fans expressed their disappointment in the Ivy Park offerings over the past year. According to THR, “Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path, and maintain creative freedom” of the brand going forward.

The end of the Ivy Park partnership is the latest in a string of rough patches for Adidas over the past year, as well. In October of 2022, Adidas also ended its partnership with Kanye West after the rapper made a series of antisemitic remarks in several interviews. The company’s CEO told the company early this year that Adidas is projected to lose nearly $1.3 billion in sales of Yeezy merchandise, although it also reached an agreement with him to sell remaining inventory without the Yeezy branding.
