Adidas Ivy Park x Beyonce Collection

This drop will reportedly be the last of the Ivy Park and Adidas collaboration, as they ended their relationship earlier this year. That being said, this collection is currently available here. Beyonce shows off some of the pieces included in the drop in her IG post above. The collection, as named, is mostly black-themed. We will have to wait and see how well this collection does, but fans will likely flock to purchase as this could be the last time.

Beyoncé’s universally acclaimed Renaissance World Tour may have come to an end, but the superstar is far from done. After several months of touring, she still isn’t done making power moves. At the final show of the RWT in Kansas City, Beyoncé screened the trailer of her upcoming tour documentary film. Just three days later, she announced a new IVY PARK drop, dubbed IVY PARK NOIR. Fans are beside themselves with excitement, even as they playfully complain that Queen Bey isn’t letting them catch a break.

Beyoncé is not new to creating events out of her fashion drops, even when we travel all the way back to her House of Deréon days. Since 2016, IVY Park has released several collections. She frequently sent out merch boxes to celebrities and influencers, and fans continued to look forward to new releases. In March 2023, Beyoncé and Adidas were reported to be heading in separate directions. Due to creative differences, they mutually agreed to part ways. One day later, she announced a partnership with French designer Balmain. Together, they debuted a “wearable album” line, dubbed the “Renaissance Couture.”

Her collaboration with Adidas has continued to gain traction ever since the first IVY PARK collection hit the market. While it’s no longer news that Beyoncé and Adidas are parting ways, it’s not over just yet. After she announced the tour documentary film on October 1, 2023, it came as a surprise to most. But she evidently had a few more surprises up her sleeve.  

Introducing: IVY PARK NOIR 

Throughout the lauded Renaissance tour, Beyoncé wore numerous custom-made outfits. Her wardrobe was seemingly limitless, and this just made the tour even more iconic. The entire tour was a fashion designer’s fantasy and a spectacle of meticulously curated looks. For her final performance of the tour, Beyoncé chose to make the stage a sea of black. The superstar closed out the RWT in an all-black IVY PARK look. Moreover, her dancers were decked out in similar all-black outfits as well.

Days later, she took to Instagram to reveal that those outfits were actually some looks from her upcoming IVY PARK collection. She captioned the post, “Felt great to design and wear the final IVY PARK drop (with adidas 👀💃🏽🕺🏽🪩) on the final show of the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR. The Blackout. IVY PARK NOIR dropping Oct 12.” As expected, the Beyhive went into yet another frenzy. 

What to Expect From The New Collection

The final installment of Adidas and IVY PARK’s collaboration promises to be a dark affair. The collection was heavily inspired by the Film Noir genre, as stated on Adidas’ official website. IVY PARK NOIR features an all-black monochromatic colorway. The designs are sporty and trendy, as seen in some of the pictures shared. It is a limited-edition collection, and features leather jerseys, body-con pieces, and stylish sweat suits among others, steeped in black. The inclusive designs will be in sizes ranging from XXS to 3XL. The price points for the collection will range from $35 to $350. IVY PARK NOIR goes live globally on October 12, 2023.

Beyonce teased her final collaboration with Adidas for IVY PARK x Adidas with her latest outfit on the Renaissance World Tour. She confirmed in a post on Instagram, Thursday, that IVY PARK NOIR will be the final drop. The outfit she wore is all black with a leather jacket over a black leotard dress, thigh-high boots, and long gloves. The night was also the final stop on the tour, as she performed in Kansas City.

Beyonce and Adidas announced the IVY PARK collaboration back in 2018. “This is the partnership of a lifetime for me,” the star said in a statement at the time. “Adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.” In the years since, it’s dramatically failed to achieve the success both parties hoped to have.

2022 – Adidas Gazelle x Gucci

Who would’ve thought the sneaker brand Run DMC made popular amongst Hip Hop heads and the streets would pair nicely with a high-end designer? For fans of both brands, the collaboration between Adidas and Gucci ended in a sneaker that was to die for. In the luxury collaboration, the GG monogram and Interlocking G mix with the Adidas Trefoil featured on colorful prints in each colorway. Gucci’s signature symbols also mesh well with the sneaker’s simple build, breaking the mold with multiple colorways. 

2021 – Jeremy Scott x Adidas “JS Money Wings”

Money talks and walks the walk, especially with famed designer Jeremy Scott at the helm. Scott earned the nicknames “fashion’s last rebel” and “the people’s designer” with his bold, unconventionally alluring designs. The same description can be said about his 2021 collaboration with Adidas. The sneaker sported Scott’s signature look, releasing a previous collaboration and bringing it the low-cut silhouette. Boasting detachable wings on the sides of the sneakers, and the printed $100 dollar bill graphics, the JS Money Wings low is one of Adidas’ most bold and iconic collaborations. 

2021 – Bad Bunny x Adidas Forum Buckle Low “The First Cafe”

After releasing three albums in 2020, Bad Bunny’s ability to make waves on a global scale was apparent in 2021. What better way to celebrate this success than to collaborate with Adidas for his own collection? No stranger to collaborating with artists, Adidas made sure that “The First Cafe” Buckle Low truly represented Bad Bunny. Instead of the usual Adidas branding, the tongues boast the Puerto Rican singer’s signature eye graphic. The sneaker also added more utility features for the collaboration, including its removable collar buckle system. 

2020 – The Mandalorian x NMD_R1

The Mandalorian is a show that kept an entire fanbase craving for more while also bringing new fans to the Star Wars universe. To commemorate, Adidas released multiple Mandalorian-inspired colorways of the NMD_R1. Not the first time a Star Wars figure collaborated with the brand, Adidas was sure to give this collaboration the flare they are known for. The Mandalorian’s helmet stamped on the silver tongue reflective accents throughout the Primeknit upper and other features on the silhouette pay homage to the Star Wars character. The sock liners also depict a scene with the show’s main characters, Din Djarin and The Child. The bronze and silver colorway and other features make this version of the NMD_R1 a memorable collaboration from Adidas’ vast collection.

Looking into Beyoncé Ivy Park x Adidas Partnership from start to end conjures realizations about the fashion business. The extreme highs and lows behind the scenes never make it to tabloids. When Beyoncé merged a deal with Adidas years ago, it sprung hope for a successful run, like Yeezy with Kanye West before current events. However, even a superstar who sells out stadiums and arenas can’t fully crack the mass-produced fashion business.

In this feature, we’ll probe into the multimillion-dollar Beyoncé Ivy Park Adidas deal from its beginning to its unfortunate end. The Real Ivy Park x Adidas Beginning

Beyoncé officially launched Ivy Park in 2016. The brand floated as schematic activewear for her fans, the BeyHive. With the successful turnout, in April 2016, she partnered up with TopShop. Later, the deal faltered due to rumors surrounding the Topshop founder Sir Philip Green. The allegations threatened the brand’s success and Beyoncé’s star power image. She cut ties with them and acquired complete control of Ivy Park in November 2018.

Soon, tabloids broke the news of Beyoncé’s sole ownership of Ivy Park. Many fans and fashion lovers wondered where the journey would take the songstress. However, the real worry was who would be the brand’s newest partner. Then a year later, in 2019, Adidas on Instagram teased with the caption, “A new beginning.” On April 4, a press release described the deal between Ivy Park and Adidas. The release mentioned a new vision of delivering a collection highlighting a “performance to lifestyle.” Adidas accentuates Beyoncé as “a creative partner for the brand. ”

The partnership respects Beyoncé’s ownership of her company. Furthermore, the exciting deal introduced another aspect, signature footwear. Considering other artists who have also fostered lucrative streetwear deals, it was a good move. The likes of Tyler The Creator with Converse, Jay-Z with Reebok, and Missy Elliott with Adidas.

The First Collab Drop

Before the announcement in early 2016, Adidas’ official release was set for January 2020. Beyoncé teased a few products from the collection on her social media pages. The first drop had a monochromatic orange scheme on the sneakers, puffed-up jackets, and activewear sets. The orange and purple complimentary colors underlined the fashion era of the early 2020s.

Her rollout was a memorable pop culture moment. And as the queen of surprises, she set the bar high with the first drop. A week or so before the release, Beyoncé sent orange boxes to A-list celebrities, from models, actresses, actors, rappers, and other important players. The notable ones included Ellen DeGeneres, Angela Bassett, Kendall Jenner, Ciara, Missy Elliott, Reese Witherspoon, and Hailey Bieber.

On the day of the sale, after five minutes, the website crashed. It was announced that every product sold out on the website. Places such as Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Foot Locker, and Finish Line locations also sold-out of items in the U.S. However, as usual, the next day, everything sold out worldwide.

The Second Collab Drop

Months after the first collaboration, the silence between Adidas and Beyoncé was tumultuous. However, another press release statement revealed information on the next drops. The full schedule for the year 2020 included four capsule drops. All in intervals throughout the Fall season of 2020. Also, the collaborators mentioned the drop would consist of a treasured collection and newer designs.

The “Drip 2” collection rollout started with a cryptic message from Beyoncé. She simply put out “This Is My Park” releasing October 2020. With optics on the website, the line drew inspiration from the ’80s, drawing from the aerobics tape aesthetic from that era. This time, however, the design team opted for a five-color scheme palette—a green tint, dark green, yellow “canary” tint, mesa, and natural coral. Personally, the second drop was her best drop ever.

Bey sent personal boxes of her line to promote the drop to her celebrity friends. The artists and influencers who were the best pick included Kehlani, Kerry Washington, and Mo’Nique. The collection sold out in Adidas stores and ASOS retailers. During this drop, fans publicly expressed frustration with the process of buying and acquiring the products. Some were upset with the delays and lack of availability.

The Third Collaboration Drop

The “Halls of Ivy” drop in 2021 was more collaborative than all collections. The vision for this particular drop celebrated all people of races, backgrounds, colors, or creeds. You could tell from the designs and color choices that it would cater to adults and kids. The fifth capsule collection included four distinct footwear chromatism, 89 apparel trends, and approximately 11 accessory styles.

Queen B went the extra mile to add alterations to the drop. Ivy Park had IVY PARK x Adidas Savage, IVY PARK x Adidas Super Sleek “Chunky,” IVY PARK x Adidas Super Sleek Boot, and IVY PARK x Adidas UltraBOOST. Ivy Park mastered their objective to produce a casual wear and agility collection. The masterstroke was Beyoncé enlisting some of the Adidas alumnae.

The rollout of this Ivy Park collection was more detailed and thought out. The boxes from Adidas were encrusted with a chest of ice. During February 2021, the ice theme carried on. Especially noting the ice sculptures that were displayed all around New York City. The promotion spread out in Bryant Park and Domino Park.

The Beyoncé x Adidas Controversy in 2023

Following the loss of Kanye West’s Yeezy deal, Adidas cut ties with another high-profile musician. The consensus was that the $200 million loss became hard to clean up. In 2022, sales reports stated that Ivy Park x Adidas sales declined more than 50%. The reported $40 million earnings in 2022 was below the expected projection of $250 million.

From a critic’s point of view, the strategy was way off base. The overconfidence in Beyoncé doesn’t usually translate into sales. However, the buying power from her fans is what matters. Now, Beyoncé has partnered with Balmain ahead of the Renaissance World Tour. The “Renaissance Couture” comprises of 16 off-the-ramp styles co-designed by Beyoncé.

Beyoncé & Adidas Reportedly End Ivy Park Partnership

Adidas suffers another heavy hit as they conclude their deal with Beyoncé and Ivy Park. The world watched as Kanye West unraveled online with Nazi propaganda, resulting in a dramatic end to his Yeezy partnership with the brand. As the company navigates how it will move products, The Hollywood Reporter offered a new update about their connection with Bey. According to the outlet, they’ve spoken with “a source close to the situation,” who revealed that the singer and Adidas have “mutually agreed to part ways.”

It was further alleged that Beyoncé was struggling to maintain the relationship with Adidas behind the scenes. “There has apparently been major creative differences between Ivy Park and Adidas,” reported THR. “And Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path and maintain creative freedom.” Also, murmurs about discontent have been ongoing in recent months regarding Ivy Park’s sales. Beyoncé and Adidas partnered in 2018, two years after Ivy Park’s arrival. The brand was further hyped with its elaborate unveilings by celebrities gifted with special apparel deliveries.

Beyoncé & Adidas Made Magic

When Bey & Co. ended their deal with Topshop in 2018, she retained full ownership. The most recent line of Adidas x Ivy Park apparel, Park Trail, came in January. It was bolstered by the music icon’s epic—and controversial—performance in Dubai. It was Beyoncé’s first live show in five years, and Ivy Park was expected to fly off the shelves, as usual. However, in early February, the Wall Street Journal reported Ivy Park “missed internal sales projection by over $200 million” in 2022. Further, Bey still made $20 million a year from her Ivy Park contract.

Additionally, WSJ broke down the numbers: in 2022, sales were “roughly” $40 million. It sounds like a good year, but it’s much less than the $93 million earned in 2021. Adidas projected $250 million in sales for 2022, and for 2023, they believed they would make $335 million. That projection has been changed to $63 million. It’s suggested that this is why Ivy Park x Adidas has come to an end. It’s unclear what the immediate future holds, but if there’s another final drop on the horizon, fans are sure to eat it up. Beyoncé is easily one of the biggest artists in the entire world. Overall, she is one of the most beloved artists of this entire generation. The artist is seen as a fantastic performer who also puts out phenomenal albums. In the eyes of many, she simply cannot do wrong. Her latest body of work Renaissance was a massive success, and her supporters are already looking forward to the next project. In the tweets above, you can see that Woodbury details how Beyoncé’s athleisure brand lost Adidas about $200 million in 2022. This is because the brand thought that it would sell upwards of $250 million. Although, the brand actually only did about $40 million in sales. These are horrific numbers for the brand, which is set to lose $1.3 billion thanks to the likes of Kanye West. Overall, many are chalking up these numbers to the fact that Beyoncé isn’t someone who has ever sported athleisure. Simply put, this was never a good fit.

Regardless, it seems as though Adidas and Ivy Park still have plans for future releases. After all, the two are currently under contract, and it would be an admission of defeat for either side to call it quits. Ice Spice and Offset will appear in Beyoncé’s promotional campaign for her Ivy Park and Adidas collab, Park Trail. Moreover, it follows today’s drop of a Top Ten 2000 collab between Adidas and Ivy Park. In promotional shoots for the RENAISSANCE artist’s latest collection, Spice and Offset dress to impress.

Furthermore, this Park Trail line includes gender-neutral performance apparel items. Sequined jackets, faux fur coats, canvas tracksuits, performance tights, hoodies, sweaters, sweatshirts… you name it. Also, they chose quite an interesting color pallet to vary these pieces up with. They include forest green, lime green, cream white, indigo orange, purple, and a camouflage print. Still, let’s not forget the kicks.

While fans wait on new videos or shows from the R&B queen, her newest Ivy Park line is dropping on February 9th in Adidas stores and online. In addition, select retailers will put it up for sale on February 10th. However, that’s not all that excited fans about this drop. In promotional material for the new collection, Ice Spice, Offset, his son Kody, and other notable names such as Devon Aoki made appearances.

Beyoncé is one of the biggest artists ever, and her Ivy Park brand with Adidas has matched her stardom in every way. When she was looking to find a sneaker home, Adidas was the only brand that truly spoke to her. Subsequently, the two have created some amazing collaborations.

In the official images down below, you can find the first colorway of the Adidas TT 2000 x Ivy Park collab. This is a model that combines some neutral tones as well as some loud ones. Overall, this creates a unique mix that we think sneakerheads will enjoy quite thoroughly.

Firstly, this shoe opens up with some beige suede. There are actually multiple shades of beige to be found here, especially as we go closer to the wavy side panels. Lastly, we get the huge pops of color from the midsole and outsole where there are multiple shades of orange.
