YG & Saweetie Call It Quits After 7 Months Of Dating: Report

YG and Saweetie were one of hip-hop’s most low-key but beloved couples in recent memory, but it seems like they went their separate ways. Moreover, according to new reports from TMZ, representatives from both rappers spoke to The Shade Room about how they mutually decided to end their seven-month-ish relationship, as they think they would be better off as friends. Also, these reports suggest that neither is very interested in seeking another partner right now, and that they want to focus on their careers first and foremost. It’s a sad thing to hear about, but at least this all seems amicable and respectful, which is more than we can ask for in these wild times.

Furthermore, the West Coast MCs confirmed their romance around in May of 2023 following a month or so of rumors. Not only that, but this wasn’t really a surprise: YG and Saweetie have collaborated often– most recently on the former’s “BIRTHDAY” single– and they toured together with Tyga. As such, it was great to see these two work well together within and outside of their careers and personal lives. After all, they were pretty low-key about everything, which again, is more than we can ask for from most couples with a strong bond before their romantic union.

Meanwhile, the last we heard from them in the pop culture and gossip mill was their October performance at the University of Southern California. Since then, things cooled down significantly at least on our end, leading folks to speculate on just how long ago they split. It’s possible that their teams are just now allegedly relaying this to The Shade Room after days, weeks, or months of a relationship status update between YG and Saweetie. Perhaps we’ll just have to wait and see whether either Cali native speaks out about what they had, and what they might continue to manifest beyond a cuff.

When it comes to their careers, both artists actually have some songs to promote or tease these days. For the Icy Girl, that would be her previewed track “Richtivities,” whereas the Still Brazy spitter just dropped “Stand Up” with Stunna Girl. Halle Bailey is really enjoying her newfound life as a mother after only just a couple of weeks or so. Moreover, she and her boo DDG welcomed their first son Halo into the world late into 2023, and announced his birth just last week at press time. Most recently, though, the singer and actress shared her post-pregnancy body in a new picture for her Snapchat followers. “So this is me rn and I’ve [been] letting my body heal,” she captioned the photo. “Haven’t started really working out yet but I’ll show you my goal [heart emoji].” Thanks to the 23-year-old’s most recent Instagram post, we can assume there will be a lot more content coming.

Furthermore, she just posted a video of an underwater photo shoot that Brandon Almengo did for her, and it looks absolutely stunning. Halle Bailey’s free-flowing dress and locks of hair swirl all around her as she poses for various angles while submerged, and fans also begged her to drop the song she used as the vid’s background. “missing my belly already [purple heart emoji] but i obviously had to do underwater pics,” the “Angel” star captioned the vid. Now that she doesn’t have to be secretive anymore, we’re sure that she and DDG will capitalize on the wholesome updates now and rewind back in time to give fans the scoop.

In addition to all this, the couple had each other to celebrate recently, not just the arrival of their bundle of joy. For example, DDG and Halle Bailey recently celebrated their second anniversary in late December, and we can imagine it was hard not to bring up their son while showing each other love for their bond. Regardless, the flood of rumors that had people feeling unsurprised at Halo’s birth didn’t stop them from moving on with their careers as usual. They could’ve easily just given fans the pleasure of saying “I told you so,” but they stuck through with their plan until the very end, or so we think.

Jessie Woo says that Tamar Braxton threatened one of her friends for flirting with Jeremy “JR” Robinson. In a since-deleted YouTube video circulating on social media, Woo, a co-worker of Braxtons’ at Dish Network, detailed why the two no longer follow one another on social media.

While explaining their relationship, Woo shared threatening alleged text messages from Braxton. In one, she wrote: “Your home girl tried to talk to JR last night… I will personally kill that b*tch. Ion play these Atlanta games.” From there, Woo says the two hopped on a phone call with on another. Afterward, Braxton continued in more messages: “Ask your brown skin friend. I’ll have her head. ANYDAY. Don’t play with me. I’m so serious. Let me find her name. Ion do this fake a— Atlanta sh*t. Don’t play in my fckn face like that. This when I get real serious. That’s what your friend said to him last night. I will kill that b*tch. Y’all will find her….I’ll hurt that b— and her mama.”

Blueface recently turned himself in for apparent parole violations, and although that legal case is still pretty unclear, one thing that’s not is Chrisean Rock’s support. Moreover, a new clip emerged of her accompanying her on-and-off-again boo to the jail facility, and she even took their recently-born son Chrisean Jr., too. Of course, a lot of people will be disappointed by this, given that they want the two as far away from each other as possible. Whether you support the Baddies star or the California MC, you can agree that their relationship has been a volatile, chaotic, and overall harmful one on a personal level for both.

But when times get tough, the tough get tougher, and it’s at least kind of heartening to see them put things aside to come together for something much larger-scaled. Chrisean Rock previously seemed to react to Blueface’s arrest with sadness, which let off some warning signs for many fans. Unfortunately for them, their fears came true, but we doubt that this will prompt a full reconciliation. If history’s proven anything to us, it’s that every week is a clean slate when it comes to this couple’s status.

However, it seems like Blueface was more prepared than he should’ve been to react to this trouble. After all, he just dropped an EP titled Free Blueface, a seven-song offering with features from DDG, Kevin Gates, Tru Carr, and YungMagnificent. It arrived shortly after the 26-year-old’s manager Wack 100 announced that he went to the slammer. As it became clear that he turned himself in and that this is as much of a press opportunity as it is a legal move, then all the hullabaloo around this stint makes more sense.

Well, it makes more sense in terms of there being a big marketable push behind it. Moreover, she shared a picture of her body after giving birth to her first son, Halo, whom she has with her partner DDG. “So this is me rn and I’ve [been] letting my body heal,” the R&B star wrote as her snap’s caption. “Haven’t started really working out yet but I’ll show you my goal [heart emoji].” Given that the couple tried their hardest to keep their bundle of joy a secret until he arrived, it’s understandable if she now feels a little bit more comfortable sharing the details of her personal growth and journey as a mother.

Sure, some people complained that the 23-year-old should only pick one or the other, but live and let live. Furthermore, this contrasts US Weekly‘s recent report, which cites an alleged source presumably close to the couple who claimed to know the reasoning behind Halle Bailey’s secrecy. “Halle told friends it was to protect their baby and relationship from scrutiny,” they posited. “But it was all very strange to those around them, especially when she has had such a huge year in movies.” Not only that, but the alleged source also hinted at her having “plans to take some time off to bond with Halo.”

Moreover, she recently hit up the Opium club in Atlanta, Georgia with none other than Southside, with whom she shares a four-year-old daughter named Summer. Not only that, but they actually seemed to have a great time together, with the City Girl singing the aforementioned chorus to the producer as he laughs it off. Despite the soundtrack choice being almost too perfect for some drama, it’s even better to see these two just have a great time.

“Happy 4th Birthday to my life-sized Barbie,” Yung Miami captioned her Instagram post for Summer earlier this year. “I love you so much my little superstar [heart emojis].” “Happy birthday my beautiful daughter,” Southside wrote in a loving and celebratory message of his own. “I love [you] so much, I don’t care what’s going [on] you have the power to brighten my day. As for their “business only” relationship, Southside explained how he and Yung Miami reached a healthy, happy, and amicable co-parent bond. “I’m proud of them like cr*zy,” he expressed of the City Girls on The Bootleg Kev Podcast. “The key to a cordial co-parenting relationship is just no sex. A photo posted to social media has sparked rumors that Rihanna is pregnant again. The wave of speculation appears to have begun with a post from X user @LustSierra, who posted a photo of A$AP Rocky posing with a visibly pregnant Rihanna. This led other social media users to question whether Rihanna was pregnant with the couple’s third child.

However, it appears that the speculation is nothing more than a wild rumor. Community Notes users have reportedly identified the photo as being from June 2023, when Rocky and Rihanna attended the Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week. Given that @LustSierra is an X Premium user, there is the possibility that the original post is intentionally fake. X Premium users are compensated based on their engagement, thus incentivizing people to produce content that could go viral regardless of its veracity.

However, this is not to say that Rihanna isn’t disinterested in having another child. “I loved him differently as a dad. This is major, major like, it’s a turn-on. It’s just like, ‘Wow! Kodak Black may face a lot of legal trouble right now on drug charges, but he’s still making sure to support his family on the other side. It looks like it was a birthday and Christmas combo, and Yak’s little one even got a small car of her own to drive around in. Overall, despite everything going on with him right now, it’s still heartening to see some of his core feel his care, however material, from beyond the cell.

Furthermore, the last update we got on Kodak Black’s legal state was his case’s judge threatening him with the removal of his supervised release. In other words, the judge wants him to return to jail once he’s out of federal custody to await trial for his charges. The Florida MC is actually facing a couple of different cases right now, as one of his recent arrests happened while he was out on bail. It’s a complicated web, but one that hopefully starts to unweave soon for the sake of his constance and that of his family.

An interesting debacle in this case centers around the police officer who arrested Kodak Black mistakenly identifying the drugs found in his vehicle when the procedure took place. “The cop says crack cocaine, and it turned out to be oxycodone,” his attorney Bradford Cohen expressed. “I don’t know how an error like that happens. I’ve never seen in my career of 27 years where an officer tested an oxycodone pill, and it came back positive for cocaine. This officer was either grossly neglectful, incompetent, or a liar. It’s one of those three.”

Meanwhile, it’s odd to hear about the Sniper Gang boss’ woes when we just heard him spit with ease.
