Mero recently stopped by 7PM In Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and Joe Budden for a very engaging conversation. At one point, the Dominican-American media multi-hyphenate spoke of the end of his working partnership with Desus and what the core differences were. “I’ma keep it a buck,” Mero began his remarks. “At first, I was upset. It’s the business. There’s no friends in the business. I got four kids, two mortgages, you know what I’m saying? You know where I live, Joe, the taxes are cr*zy. I got real life situations going on. So I’m like, ‘Yo, if we get an offer from Draft Kings for 1.5 before they got logos on the NBA court.’ And you’re like, ‘Nah, bro, this ain’t it.’

“And I’m like, ‘Nah, fam, I’m gambling illegally right now,’” The Kid Mero continued. “‘This s**t is legal in Jersey. I just moved here, trying not to fail on it. This is going places, bro. We need to do this’ And they’re like, ‘Nah’? I’m like, ‘F**k outta here!’ That’s the beginning of like, ‘Alright, this s**t is corroded.’

“So the situation was, we were in two different places in life, right?” Mero went on. “I was very much so aiming for ownership. Being a production company, owning your IP, because that’s life or death in media. If you own your s**t, you’re good. If you know that, you go into it with a certain approach, you know what I mean? I need longevity, I need ownership. We’ve developed this s**t out the mud, so this is us, we’re owners. We’re not selling this to nobody, the key word here is licensing. I’ll license this s**t to you for a term, you know, two years, or one and one. But selling your IP, bro, selling your name? It seems like they’re preparing Desus for Hollywood. Like, that next level. I heard that, and I was just like, ‘Bro, you know what’s cr*zy? No!’

“The next level of Hollywood was the three of us -– Desus, Victor, myself -– sitting down with Judd Apatow, and saying, ‘Yo, we’re going to do a movie,’” he concluded. “The movie gets written, and Desus is like, ‘I ain’t really feeling this s**t.’ When I know, in the business mind, when you do a movie with this guy, you’re not just doing a movie with this guy. This dude is like a kingmaker in the film industry. If you get in there and you make a banger with him, you’re solidified. That’s what makes you get up to the next level. YG & Saweetie Call It Quits After 7 Months Of Dating: Report

YG and Saweetie were one of hip-hop’s most low-key but beloved couples in recent memory, but it seems like they went their separate ways. Moreover, according to new reports from TMZ, representatives from both rappers spoke to The Shade Room about how they mutually decided to end their seven-month-ish relationship, as they think they would be better off as friends. Also, these reports suggest that neither is very interested in seeking another partner right now, and that they want to focus on their careers first and foremost. It’s a sad thing to hear about, but at least this all seems amicable and respectful, which is more than we can ask for in these wild times.

Furthermore, the West Coast MCs confirmed their romance around in May of 2023 following a month or so of rumors. Not only that, but this wasn’t really a surprise: YG and Saweetie have collaborated often– most recently on the former’s “BIRTHDAY” single– and they toured together with Tyga. As such, it was great to see these two work well together within and outside of their careers and personal lives. After all, they were pretty low-key about everything, which again, is more than we can ask for from most couples with a strong bond before their romantic union.

Meanwhile, the last we heard from them in the pop culture and gossip mill was their October performance at the University of Southern California. Since then, things cooled down significantly at least on our end, leading folks to speculate on just how long ago they split. It’s possible that their teams are just now allegedly relaying this to The Shade Room after days, weeks, or months of a relationship status update between YG and Saweetie. Perhaps we’ll just have to wait and see whether either Cali native speaks out about what they had, and what they might continue to manifest beyond a cuff.

When it comes to their careers, both artists actually have some songs to promote or tease these days. For the Icy Girl, that would be her previewed track “Richtivities,” whereas the Still Brazy spitter just dropped “Stand Up” with Stunna Girl. Bad Bunny and Kendall Jenner have called it quits according to a new report from PEOPLE. The two have not been seen together publically since attending an afterparty for Saturday Night Live in October. Bad Bunny had been serving as the host and musical guest for the episode. Neither Bunny nor Jenner have commented on the report.

The two first sparked relationship rumors after going on a double date with Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber back in February. At the time, another source for PEOPLE reported: “She likes him and is having fun. He is different from guys that she dated in the past. He is very charming.” In the months afterward, they mostly kept things private, avoiding talking about their romance and making occasional public appearances together.

In September, they both attended Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2024 Fashion Show in Milan, where they sat in the front row next to one another. During an interview with Vanity Fair in October, Bunny admitted he was working on speaking English for one woman in his life. “With some people, I speak English — with some specific people,” Bad Bunny said at the time. “With one of them, I couldn’t talk to her before.”

The source for PEOPLE didn’t provide an explanation for their breakup. The news comes after TMZ caught that Jenner was on a ski trip to Aspen, last week, without her now-ex partner in tow. Cardi B and Offset’s relationship has been on and off for some time according to a report from The Jasmine Brand on Wednesday. It comes on the heels of Cardi’s announcement that she’s officially “single.” The outlet cites a source close to the couple who says they’ve been “tumultuous.”

“They’re tumultuous. They’ve broken up and gotten back together and broken up again way more than the public has seen,” the insider said. “They’ve had really good times together.”

As for Tink’s comments on the incident, she blasted Hitmaka on Instagram Live on Saturday. She labeled him “foul” and also teased new music. “I had a moment in that car when I had to get physical,” Tink said. “Don’t play with me, and please, don’t get on this Internet playing, because I had to defend myself. The latter revealed that she and Wade typically split finances 50/50, while also revealing some insecurity when it came to money. Now, the former basketball superstar revealed his own perspective on this to Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast. During his remarks, he expressed confidence in her independence, dismissal of negative perspectives about manhood, and a desire to keep things equal and within each of their defined comfort zones.

“I haven’t given no color to this, but it’s thinkpieces going around about me as a man,” Dwyane Wade expressed before Sharpe teased him about it a little. “Let’s talk about it. So, the whole 50/50 concept, so I understand what 50/50 means. [It] means that everything in life, you got your half and I got my half. We’ll put this s**t together and try to make 100. That is not how our relationship works, all right? Everybody think 50/50, they think ‘Hey, if he gettin’ a sandwich, you gotta put 50% on that!’

“50/50 in our household is- first of all, let’s say that I have 20 to 50 responsibilities,” Dwyane Wade continued. “My wife has 20 to 50 responsibilities. When I say that, that means she has a mother, she has her sisters, she has her dad, she has a lot of things that she’s responsible for. You know what she does? She pays one hundred percent of that. I thought that was really beautiful.”

A rep for Mod Sun addressed the situation in a statement provided to PEOPLE. “They were together and engaged as of three days ago when Mod left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him. Mod will be performing tonight in Portland at The Hawthorne Theater,” they said. Lavigne has not commented on the rumors.

The couple’s relationship was recently the topic of a song on Mod’s latest album, God Save the Teen. The project released earlier this month. Moreover, this news comes after Udoka’s public cheating scandal, which exploded in September of 2022. The coach had a consensual but inappropriate relationship with a staffer for the Boston Celtics, and Long split with him months later. However, when she spoke to Barrymore, she shared that she’s got her “eye on one person.

“I will always love him,” she said to Yahoo. “He’s had an incredible career, and he’s carried a burden for many years to try — to represent what perfection looks like. You pick yourself back up, and you keep it moving.”
