Azealia Banks Blasts Beyonce For New Country Era

Beyonce is officially launching her new country era, previewing the album Act II‘s release on March 29 of this year with two new singles: “16 CARRIAGES” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM.” Of course, this sent the BeyHive into a frenzy, and a lot of fans are reacting very excitedly to this new phase in her career. However, not everyone’s a fan, and one particular critic of the Houston superstar’s decision is none other than Azealia Banks. She took to her Instagram Story on Monday morning (February 12) to blast her decision to go country. Not only that, but the New York City native expressed beliefs that this would only go on to ridicule the “CUFF IT” singer in the long run.

“Ugh Bianca girl I love you down but them r&b runs over the leslie feist back beats is giving pickmesha…” Azealia Banks wrote of Beyonce. “Nothing country about it. You’re seeing yourself up to be ridiculed again. There’s a theatrical element to country music !!! Them critics are not just going to accept an ugly blond wig and , bullying from jay-z !!! It’s giving big time musical grift. Yes black girls can make country music … but you’re just really not hitting the button.

“K.michelle this is your turn to really execute,” Azealia Banks went on. “It’s no shade but K Michelle truly understands the assignment. Beyoncé please stop the madness. The gay baiting, the overtly narcissistic attempts to lazily encroach into a genre *you think* your popularity is gonna gain accolades for you in… You’re looking like food sis. You will gag when k Michelle tears it.” Given all the production credits on both these new Beyonce songs, it’s impossible to assume what the true quality of this experience will be like before listening to the project as a whole.

Still, this isn’t a forbidden opinion to have about Queen Bey, and some fans are still pretty skeptical about the whole endeavor while others are loving it. Swizz Beatz spoke out in response to the backlash on Instagram after the game, defending Usher and his wife. “Y’all talking about the wrong damn thing !!! y’all don’t see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium,” Swizz wrote. “Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants ! Congrats @usher and my love @aliciakeys that song is a classic. We don’t do negative vibes on this side we make history. Wendy Williams’ Documentary Reportedly “Blindsided” Ex-Husband Kevin Hunter Sr.

The two-part documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? is scheduled to air later this month, but not everybody is looking forward to it. According to a new report by The U.S. Sun, Williams’ ex Kevin Hunter Sr. expects it to be exploitative of Williams, who executive produced the tell-all. Reportedly, he also wishes that their son, Kevin Hunter Jr., was never involved.

“Kevin was shocked to see his ex-wife portrayed in such a negative light in the Lifetime trailer. He was also totally blindsided that their son, Kevin Jr, ended up signing onto the project after he initially said he wanted nothing to do with it,” a source told the outlet earlier this week. “Little Kev was repeatedly advised that it was a bad look to be involved in this project and that it was not in his best interest to have his name attached to it.”

Kevin Sr. reportedly believes that the documentary will tarnish the legacy that Williams has spent so many years building. Unfortunately, he isn’t the only one. Charlamagne Tha God weighed in on the upcoming project on The Breakfast Club earlier this month, claiming that immediately after seeing a trailer for it, he prayed for Williams. In the trailer, she’s seen admitting that she has “no money,” warning viewers that the same could happen to them.

“I don’t understand why they have the cameras in that woman’s face,” Charlamagne said of the documentary. “Why y’all want to document someone’s downfall?” he also wondered. Despite criticism, Where Is Wendy Williams? will premiere on Lifetime in two parts on February 24 and 25. T.I. Reacts To Killer Mike’s Grammys Arrest: “It Was An Atrocity”

Over the weekend, Killer Mike scored big at the 66th Annual Grammys. The performer took home awards for Best Rap Album for Michael, as well as Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers.” Soon after he accepted his awards, however, the evening took an unfortunate turn. He was taken away from the ceremony in handcuffs for a misdemeanor battery charge. Allegedly, Killer Mike had knocked down a security officer who wouldn’t get out of his way nearby.

While the arrest took many fans by surprise, T.I. recently told Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 that he can relate. “It was an atrocity,” he said of the arrest. “To be honest with you, Killer Mike going and sweeping the Grammys, winning three Grammys and then getting arrested and going to jail at the same event in the same venue, is the story of the Black man in America.”

Congratulations, man. You know, even though, what does a Grammy mean, for real? What is it worth if you can’t even enjoy the night and celebrate without getting arrested?”

T.I. went on, “What is the true value? I’m asking the question, like for real. Why should we really aim for that when we go to jail in the same building we get the Grammy. I mean, how valuable is it?” T.I. later joked that Killer Mike is “infringing on [his] intellectual property,” as he himself was arrested in 2007 hours before his scheduled BET Hip Hop Awards performance. Knowing the allegations following the Trinidadian’s husband, Kenneth Petty, for years now, hip-hop heads immediately saw this line as taking shots at the couple, and Minaj has hardly stopped talking about it since.

Of course, the “Barbie Dreams” artist isn’t the only person Thee Stallion seemingly threw shade at on “HISS,” but she’s certainly the most upset. Elsewhere, others who came up in the black-haired beauty’s bars are happy to have their name mentioned in her music. I don’t know who Nicki got around her, but there is absolutely no reason that should’ve left the studio,” the entrepreneur began. “I’m glad Nicki decided to finally rap and not just tweet, but no. Needless to say, a lot of folks online wanted her to simply move on with her life and never get that close to him again, and vice versa.

Unfortunately for them, we’re back at the starting line of this cyclical race, but not everyone is unhappy with it. For example, out of nowhere, one rapper decided to cosign Chrisean Rock’s support of Blueface, and they previously had nothing to do with them at all. “That’s real,” Kodak Black wrote of the face tat on his Instagram Story on Sunday (January 28), reposting a picture of it. Still, it’s not like they are completely alone in their struggles, as both Blueface and Chrisean Rock are sticking tight to their families, whether chosen or by blood.
