Pusha T Doesn’t Mind Hearing Drake Diss Him In Songs: ‘It Just Lets Me Know How Deep It Hurt Him’
Nothing gets past Pusha T. With over two decades in the rap game, the rapper can catch a sub from a mile away. Such is the case with rapper Drake, who is thought to have fired some cryptic shots at Pusha T over the past four years after Push dissed him on the scathing track, “The Story Of Adidon.”
Thankfully, Push isn’t too bothered by Drake’s alleged disses, as he revealed in a recent interview with XXL. Rather, he believes Drizzy is still hurt by their much-publicized musical row.
“Every time I hear a subliminal in one of his songs, it just lets me know how deep it hurt him,” he said. “Because it’s been four years now. And we still talking about it. He is. I don’t. I’m cool. But every time it’s a subliminal, I’m like, yes. It burns. It still burns. It lets me know. I love it.”
Drake has never mentioned Push by name, however, Push revealed that he’s not sure what he would do if this were the case, nor does he ever expect it to happen. Either way, he doesn’t intend to invest any more energy into the feud.
“We should see,” said Push. “I don’t know what he’ll do. At this point, that’s contradictory. Would he jump out the window? And he wanna say I took it too far? Then he gon’ tell people. Tell the label. Tell J. Prince. My God. It’s a lot. With all of that being said, it’s like I’m not interested anymore. I’m just really not.”
Pusha T Says He is No Longer President of G.O.O.D. Music and Decided to Distance Himself From Ye
Pusha T‘s time as the President and a member of G.O.O.D. Music is over. Speaking with XXL, King Push revealed that he decided to distance himself from Ye following his anti-semitic rants and remarks.
“If you ain’t with it, you ain’t down. And I ain’t with it. I’m not budging on that. I’m not with it. I heard about this new stuff [on InfoWars]. I don’t know. It’s something that just sort of tells me he’s not well, at the same time. I will say that. It’s going to places where it’s no way to move around it.”
Pusha T stated he hasn’t spoken to Ye recently, citing their last conversation was when he was on tour.
“I just expressed myself. I express myself to him a lot. He expressed his thoughts to me. And he got off the phone saying, ‘Thank you. I know you don’t agree with me, but you never kill me in the public. And some people can’t wait to do that.’”
Pusha T confirmed that he is still with Def Jam, engaged in a 50/50 venture with the label for his releases and his Heir Wave Music Group label.

Pusha T On Drake’s Subliminal Disses: “I Love It”
It’s been four long years since the explosive feud between Pusha T and Drake spread across the internet. In a matter of days, the two rappers threw shots at each other via diss tracks, though Push’s “The Story Of Adidon” was really the nail in the coffin. The former G.O.O.D Music president pulled the curtain back on Drake’s family life, took shots at his engineer, and used a photo of the rapper wearing Blackface for the cover art. However, Drake decided to pull back from the feud before responding to the record.
In a recent interview with XXL, Pusha T reflected on the feud and how things have shaped up years later. Though we don’t hear Drake speak about Push often, the Canadian rapper does throw a few shots at his nemesis subliminally. However, Push doesn’t mind it at all.
“Every time I hear a subliminal in one of his songs, it just lets me know how deep it hurt him,” the rapper said. “Because it’s been four years now. And we still talking about it. He is. I don’t. I’m cool. But every time it’s a subliminal, I’m like, Yes. It burns, it still burns. It lets me know. I love it.”
On the other hand, Push explained that he doesn’t think Drake will ever release a diss track towards him in the future. Seeing as how Drake went through J. Prince and a few other parties before deciding against releasing a “career-ending” diss track, Pusha T said that he’s “not interested anymore.”
“We should see. I don’t know what he’ll do,” he said. “At this point, that’s contradictory. Would he jump out the window? And he wanna say I took it too far? Then he gon’ tell people. Tell the label. Tell J Prince. My God. It’s a lot. With all of that being said, it’s like I’m not interested anymore. I’m just really not.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Pusha T revealed that he’s working on a new album.

Pusha T Says He’s No Longer President Of GOOD Music And That He And Kanye West Aren’t Speaking: ‘I Ain’t With It’
Pusha T has not only revealed that he is no longer the president of Kanye West’s GOOD Music label, but he’s also not affiliated with it at all anymore and is not currently speaking with Kanye West.
In a new cover story interview for XXL, Pusha T made it very clear where he stands now. “He’s not speaking to me now,” Pusha T said. “If you ain’t with it, you ain’t down. And I ain’t with it. I’m not budging on that. I’m not with it.”
Pusha T had been President of GOOD Music since 2015, presiding over a period that saw notable releases from Big Sean, Teyana Taylor, 070 Shake, West, and himself. Meanwhile, West also produced a handful of tracks on Pusha T’s latest album, It’s Almost Dry, but it looks as though the creative relationship between the pair is over for now as well. Push indicated that West’s recent anti-semitic statements on Alex Jones’ InfoWars Podcast are definitely not sitting well with him.
“It’s wrong. Period,” he said. “But to me, it’s just me and him having a difference of opinion yet again. ‘Cause we done had this for years.” He also added, “People gotta remember, too: This isn’t new for me, when it comes to disagreeing with him politically and things like that.”
Push said that he doesn’t take this fallout lightly. When asked about whether it affects him to see West go on tirades that continue to give a voice to hateful rhetoric, he simply said that “for sure” it does. “Remember, I’m the one that said the MAGA hat is the new Klu Klux Klan hood while he’s making my album,” he added. “He beefing with [former President Barack] Obama. I met Obama. But it’s the same thing with him and the Drake thing. I’m going through this and that, he’s doing shows [with Drake].”
Lola Brooke Wants To Make Jay-Z Proud: The “Don’t Play With It” Rapper On Brooklyn Drill, Kim Kardashian & Pusha T Co-Signs & More
It’s Christmas time, again. It feels like we were ringing in 2022 yesterday but it feels like time is moving at an unfathomably rapid pace these days. As we’ve done in the past, HotNewHipHop returned with our annual 12 Days Of Christmas series where we chop it up with some of your favorite rappers, musicians, athletes, and entertainers about their annual highlights.
Kicking off the series is one of the most exciting new voices out of New York City this year, Lola Brooke. Like many of her contemporaries, the Bed-Stuy native had her big break off of TikTok with the success of “Don’t Play With It.” The adrenaline-pumping production and her charismatic delivery became a hit after her “From The Block” performance began to garner attention. However, once TikTok got a hold of the record, it formed a life of its own. Cardi B, Kim Kardashian and North West are among Hollywood’s elite of the strength of “Don’t Play With It.” At the same time, she’s landed on the radars of formidable MCs like Pusha T and Meek Mill, who’ve shown her nothing but love in recent times.
“I used to say, when I put the song out, I said to my team, ‘Don’t Play With It’ could really be a thing.’ I just thought it could be a thing on TikTok. Like, imagine kids playing with things they not supposed to be playing with. Things that are dangerous. Don’t Play With It, Don’t Play With It, Don’t Play With It,” she told HotNewHipHop.
What really sold people was the authenticity of Brooklyn that seeps through each bar. The night before our interview, Lola Brooke performed at the Barclay’s Center during the Wizards vs. Nets halftime show – the same night Ab-Soul linked up with Jay-Z. As a Bedford-Stuyvestant native, that performance stands as a highlight of her year. If not for performing in one of the biggest stages in her borough, then for being able to showcase her talent in front of the biggest export out of Bed-Stuy.
“When he sees you, remind him of where he came from. And he be proud that he came from where he grew up from,” she recalled telling herself during her performance.
For the first installment of 2022’s 12 Days Of Christmas, we chopped it up with Lola Brooke to discuss co-signs from Pusha T & Kim Kardashian, embodying Brooklyn, and so much more.
This interview has been edited and condensed for length and clarity.
