It’s no secret that B.G.’s been pushing for a Hot Boys reunion since he was released from prison late last year, and luckily, it looks like Lil Wayne is open to the idea. During a recent appearance on YG’s 4HUNNID podcast, he revealed what it would take to get a reunion tour underway. According to him, only a few logistical issues are holding them back.
“We’ve spoken about it a few times but, you know, they have situations. Like B.G. just coming home so he gotta figure out: can he tour? Can he travel? And things like that,” he explained. “Juvie ready and Turk ready, but really we gotta see if Geezy can move around.”
While Lil Wayne says that the hold-up is due to B.G., he’s been the most vocal proponent of a reunion by far. Shortly after calling Weezy a “b*tch” on “Gangstafied” with Finesse2tymes, he took to Instagram Live to clear things up. “I tell a n***a I love him and call him a b***h all in the same sentence, man,” he described. “You know what I’m saying? You know? Man, look, this family business, man. You know what I’m saying? Shout out to my little brother Weezy too, man. I talked to my little brother last night, man, you know what I’m saying?”
He continued, “Say Juve, there’s people on my line, man, about this Hot Boys reunion… Weezy, stop playing, man. It’s a big bag involved, man. Ya heard me? I know you super rich. I know you like Taylor Swift outchea. Come on, man. Stop playing, man. Let’s get to this bag.” What do you think of Lil Wayne claiming that the only thing currently preventing a Hot Boys reunion tour is B.G.’s travel restrictions? Do you hope they reunite soon? Oscar Pistorius has been confirmed to have left the prison in South Africa where he has spent the last nine years. Pistorius left the prison early on January 5 and was secretly transported to his uncle’s mansion as authorities looked to avoid the throngs of media outside the prison. The national Department of Corrections later released a two-sentence statement that confirmed Pistorius had been released and was now classified as a “parolee”.
However, he will not be able to leave the neighborhood of Pretoria he is set to live in, must attend anger management counseling, and perform community service. “Parole does not mean the end of the sentence. It is still part of the sentence. It only means the inmate will complete the sentence outside a correctional facility,” the spokesperson told ESPN in November 2023. Pistorius became eligible for parole as he had served at least half his given sentence.
Family Of Oscar Pistorius Victim Speak On Athlete’s Parole
The family of Reeve Steenkamp, Pistorius’ girlfriend whom he murdered on Valentine’s Day 2013, did not oppose his parole when it was announced last year. Steenkamp’s mother said she “did not have the energy to face him” at a parole hearing. However, “I do not believe Oscar’s version that he thought the person in the toilet was a burglar. In fact, I do not know anybody who does. My dearest child screamed for her life. I believe he knew it was Reeva,” the statement read by Steenkamp family friend Rob Matthews continued. Matthews’ daughter was murdered in 2004 and he has since become a close friend of the Steenkamp family.
As mentioned, Pistorius is expected to spend the foreseeable future at his uncle’s mansion in a wealthy neighborhood of Pretoria. Little is known about Pistorius’ time in jail. Despite this, his father claims that he held regular Bible study for his fellow prisoners. However, Pistorius also required medical treatment during his incarceration. It is believed he was assaulted by a fellow prisoner regarding an argument about a prison telephone.
Earlier this week, Gypsy Rose Blanchard was finally released from prison after serving nearly eight years for her role in her mother’s murder. Now 32 years old, Gypsy Rose has already made a splash in the short time she’s been free, celebrating with a fun Instagram selfie on Friday. The public has rallied around Gypsy Rose amid her release, which has re-sparked plenty of debate surrounding her 2016 conviction.
She plans to use her newfound freedom to share the lessons she’s learned in a six-hour tell-all. The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard premieres in January of 2024 on Lifetime. Aside from detailing her experiences as a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, the Louisiana native also had hopes of meeting one of her favorite artists, Taylor Swift. She and her husband reportedly planned to attend today’s Kansas City Chiefs game, where they thought her wish could be granted.
Unfortunately, however, Missouri authorities recently ordered her to get out of the area as they believe her presence poses a “security risk.” According to TMZ, Gypsy Rose is disappointed, but just grateful to be free. She also reportedly understands authorities’ decision, as she’s gotten a ton of attention since her release. She even recently visited Burger King, taking photos with fans that have since gone viral.
Public support for Gypsy Rose has translated to her social media presence as well. Her various pages have seen a notable uptick in followers in recent days. Her Instagram following, for example, currently sits at a whopping 4.8 million. She has an additional 1.4 million fans on TikTok, and recently announced that she’s made a Snapchat.
What do you think of authorities putting the kibosh on Gypsy Rose’s Swiftie dreams? Do you hope she gets to meet the pop icon someday? What about her approaching 5 million Instagram followers? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released from prison earlier this week after spending nearly eight years behind bars, and to celebrate, she hopped on Instagram to share her “First selfie of freedom.” The now 32-year-old woman’s highly disputed case has been thrust back into the spotlight amid her release, sparking further debate surrounding her conviction. Famously, Gypsy Rose’s mother Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard is said to have had Munchausen syndrome by proxy. She convinced her daughter and medical professionals that Gypsy Rose suffered from various physical and developmental disabilities for years, despite her being perfectly healthy. This resulted in frequent unnecessary and often painful procedures and treatments.
Years into the abuse, Gypsy Rose met a man named Nicholas Godejohn online, and they eventually developed a romantic relationship. She later enlisted his help to escape her mother’s mistreatment. “I wanted to be free of her hold on me,” she said during her former secret lover’s trial. “I talked him into it.” In June of 2015, Godejohn ventured to Springfield where Gypsy Rose and her mother lived, and stabbed Dee Dee Blanchard to death.
“That B*** is dead!” Gypsy Rose posted on Facebook before her mother’s body was discovered, bearing 17 stab wounds. She pled guilty to second-degree murder in July of 2016 and was later sentenced to 10 years. Godejohn was sentenced to life in prison. Gypsy Rose is now on parole and has been met with an outpouring of love and support from peers as she navigates her newfound freedom.
“The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” her six-hour tell-all, airs on Lifetime in January of 2024. “I want to make sure that people in abusive relationships do not resort to murder,” she told People of the upcoming docuseries. “It may seem like every avenue is closed off but there is always another way. Do anything, but don’t take this course of action.” What do you think of Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s new post-prison selfie? This year, fans have seen some shocking shifts in a few of their favorite hip-hop stars. Whether it’s recovering from controversy, coming back after incarceration, or even converting to Christianity, the future is looking up for this list of figures. Having pushed through adversity and come out stronger on the other side, they surely deserve a nod for their turnarounds.
Turning one’s life around is obviously no easy task, particularly in the spotlight. Changing public perception can often prove to be an even more arduous feat than a personal transformation itself, sometimes meaning a long road to getting credit where it’s due. Regardless, these hip-hop stars appear to be doing better than ever these days, despite their past obstacles.
Angela White FKA Blac Chyna
Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, rose to prominence in the Miami strip club scene, later catapulting to stardom as a video vixen. Eventually, she landed as a businesswoman/ reality star, known in part for her high-profile relationships with Tyga and Rob Kardashian. The D.C. native took quite a journey to get to where she is now, at one point becoming nearly synonymous with the surgically enhanced appearance popularized in the 2010s. This year, however, White decided to go back to her roots, reversing some of her cosmetic procedures and transforming her look dramatically.
Nowadays, the mother of two prioritizes keeping her body healthy, focusing on fitness, and celebrating over one year sober. On top of her physical transformation, White has also leaned into her faith since converting to Christianity in 2022. Ultimately, she decided that sex work is no longer for her, and has opted to let her religion guide her life from now on. While there’s nothing wrong with sex work or cosmetic procedures, White told Page Six that she feels “the best [she’s] felt [her] whole life” since her turnaround. Fans love to see White in her bag her way, reaping the rewards of securing icon status early on.
Gunna got out of prison at the end of last year, following a sweeping indictment that saw the arrest of him, along with 24 other YSL affiliates, Young Thug included. He signed a plea deal on the day of his release, prompting countless fans and peers to speculate that he turned his back on his co-defendants. As Young Thug remains behind bars, the Georgia hip-hop star has been a major target for “snitching” allegations, which he’s seemingly denied multiple times in his music.
He dropped his album A Gift & a Curse back in June, hinting at the rumors being false on various tracks. The album has performed well, and managed to earn him back some respect among listeners. It even scored him a nomination at the 2024 Grammys, notably hushing his critics. Not everyone is back on Gunna’s team these days, but in a genre where loyalty rules, his turnaround is impressive, to say the least.
B.G.
This year, B.G. became a free man after spending over a decade behind bars on gun and conspiracy charges. The 43-year-old hasn’t wasted any time since his release, reuniting with old friends and collaborators following his lengthy prison stay. He’s already dropped projects with Boosie Badazz, Mike WiLL Made-It, and more, and is only looking forward to adding to his discography. He even told 2 Chainz back in September that he’s planning on unleashing “seven, eight” albums in the near future, wanting nothing else but to “flood the streets” with new music.
While surely his turnaround hasn’t been easy, the New Orleans-born hip-hop artist seems to have a solid support system of people who want him to succeed. At this point, aside from releasing music, B.G. is focused on keeping on the straight and narrow, ensuring that he won’t be returning to the lifestyle that landed him in prison. “I’m not letting nobody rob me of my productivity, prosperity, positivity and peace of mind,” he told followers in September. “13 years was more [than] enough time for me to change the reckless path I was on.“
This year, Chrisean Rock welcomed her first child Chrisean Jr. with her ex Blueface. The new mother has been a frequent target of criticism pertaining to her parenting skills, relationships, and more. While she continues to go back and forth with the “Thotiana” performer online and engage in some other questionable behavior now and then, there’s no doubt that there’s been a notable turnaround in the Baddies star’s lifestyle.
On top of caring for Jr., Chrisean has also called on her faith in recent months, and continually expresses a desire to do better for the sake of her child. Nowadays, the Baltimore hip-hop artist seems to do her best to avoid the pitfalls she’s been victim to in the past, moving towards a more stable future for herself and her little one. Chrisean isn’t always successful when it comes to dodging controversy, but fans can agree that the addition of her son to her life has been overwhelmingly positive.
A judge has dismissed a plea by Casanova to release the rapper from prison. The federal judge noted that Casanova’s sentence was already at the low end of the sentencing recommendation. Furthermore, the judge argued that Casanova was asking to be released despite serving less than 20% of his sentence. Finally, the ruling also stated that Casanova has not yet proven that he is not a danger to his community. As a result, the rapper’s 15-year sentence will be upheld.
Casanova had written a personal letter to the judge asking for a compassionate release. In the letter, the Roc Nation affiliate argued that he had fully distanced himself from the Gorilla Stone Nation gang. Furthermore, Casanova pointed to the fact that he had taken a plea deal as evidence of his remorse. While Casanova was one of 18 people charged in the New Jersey RICO case, his sentence primarily stemmed from the 2018 assault of a woman. The rapper was accused of violently grabbing the woman’s phone and deleting a video she had taken of him at a restaurant.
Casanova’s Co-Defendants Facing Possible Life Sentences
However, November brought more news from the RICO case in which Cas had pled guilty. Dwight “Dick Wolf” Reid and Christopher “Beagle” Erskine, the purported leaders of Gorilla Stone Nation, were both found guilty on a variety of charges including racketeering. Reid was described by prosecutors as the “gang’s founder and prison leader” while Erskine was portrayed as their “street leader.” While they were acquitted on several gun charges, the two men could face up to life in prison for the convictions.
It’s likely that they will not be incarcerated at the same facility as Casanova, however. As part of his plea deal, Cas had denounced and disavowed the Gorilla Stone Nation. As a result, Cas was attacked in prison while awaiting sentencing. After inmate Ulysses Lugo “slashed” Cas’ face, the rapper reported chased down Lugo, leading to a bloody mass brawl. “Inmate Lugo? You couldn’t see his face because it was saturated in blood… and his whole uniform was saturated in blood. Inmate Senior was sitting there and blood was just coming out of his face,” a prison officer who responded to the brawl told a local news outlet at the time.
Disgraced Olympic and Paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius will be released from prison in South Africa on parole in January. Pistorius, a six-time Paralympic gold medalist, has spent the last decade in prison after shooting and killing his girlfriend in their home. According to a Department of Corrections spokesperson, Pistorius will be released on January 5. However, he will not be able to leave the neighborhood of Pretoria he is set to live in, must attend anger management counseling, and perform community service. “Parole does not mean the end of the sentence. It is still part of the sentence. It only means the inmate will complete the sentence outside a correctional facility,” the spokesperson told ESPN.
Pistorius was once the poster child of the Olympic movement. A double amputee, Pistorius dominated his classification at the Paralympics between 2004 and 2012. However, he also made headlines after successfully campaigning for the chance to compete at the Olympics as well. Pistorius reached the semifinals of the men’s 400m event at the 2012 Games. However, it would all come crashing down after Pistorius murdered his girlfriend, Reeve Steenkamp. While Pistorius admitted to shooting Steenkamp four times, he claimed he had mistaken her for an intruder.
Steenkamp’s family did not oppose or object to Pistorius’ parole. Her father died earlier this year and her mother said, via a statement read by a family friend, that she “did not have the energy to face him”. “I do not believe Oscar’s version that he thought the person in the toilet was a burglar. In fact, I do not know anybody who does. My dearest child screamed for her life. … I believe he knew it was Reeva,” the statement continued. It was read outside the prison where Pistorius has been held since 2016 by Rob Matthews. Matthew’s daughter was murdered in 2004 and he has since become a close friend of the Steenkamp family.
Upon release, Pistorius is expected to reside in the mansion of his uncle in a wealthy Pretoria suburb. While little has been said of Pistorius’ time in jail, his father claims that he holds Bible study for his fellow prisoners. However, Pistorius also required medical treatment during his incarceration. It is believed he was assaulted by a fellow prisoner regarding an argument about a prison telephone.
According to new reports, D.Rose will be released from prison in 2057. The Chicago rapper and alleged gang member was convicted of first-degree murder in 2016. Prior to the drive-by shooting that led to his conviction, Rose’s name had popped up in the lyrics of Chief Keef, Cdai, and RondoNumbaNina. At the time of his trial, it was reported that he could face up to 45 years for the crime. Furthermore, the news came alongside an updated prison mugshot, showing the now 27-year-old with dreads.
Rose, who was reportedly a member of the Black Disciples organization, was found guilty of the 2014 murder of 14-year-old Venzel Richardson, who was caught in a drive-by shooting. Richardson was reportedly shot four times by Rose, real name Ahbin Sardin before fleeing. Richardson later collapsed after striking his head on a gangway and later died from his injuries.
In other crime news, Mia Jaye recently spoke on the 2021 murder of her partner, Young Dolph. “If I were to guess, based on the history of things…rap sh-t, bro. A song, or two. Some ego sh-t. Let’s break that down even more. Ego sh-t. He not here because of ego. That’s a spirit. If anyone just wanna call a spade a spade, it’s a spirit. He isn’t here because of some ego sh-t and he possessed the ego. And at the end of the f-cking day, we killing people because of a bruised, a scarred, ego?”
Dolph was killed back in 2021 after being ambushed outside a bakery in Memphis. Four men are currently facing trial for his murder. However, the case has been slow-moving in many facets and fans are beginning to tire of not seeing justice done for Dolph’s family. Meanwhile, one of the men accused of killing Dolph, Hernandez Govan met with the new judge in his case, Judge Jennifer Mitchell. Judge Mitchell was assigned to the case after the original judge, Judge Lee Coffee was recused. Judge Coffee had been ruled to have disproportionally punished another defendant in the case for releasing a song while incarcerated.
There have been plenty of feel-good headlines around the hip-hop world this year. Quite a few of them have dealt with rappers finishing their prison sentences. Some include B.G., 42 Dugg, and more. The latest artist to rejoin society is Atlanta, Georgia native, Ralo. His time behind bars was quite lengthy. In fact, he was doing six years of time. We got a rough idea of when the rapper would be released a couple of weeks ago. Ralo perfectly predicted the timeline, as he was just freed today.
His update came back on October 23 when he posted an emotional Instagram post. Ralo’s message talked about his close friendship with the late Marlo. Ralo said, “Assalamualaikum | Marlo told me not to worry he was going to be the first person at the gate waiting on me when this s*** over. My release is in two weeks and I know life goes on, but this s*** aint da same as when we was passing this money around we was all happy and helping each other.” He continues, “Nowadays people doing they best to kick others down, so they can stand above them, but the only way thats going to happen is if im in my grave with Marlo. I aint going for none strange…”
As we said, Ralo was right on the money. He was locked up for drug conspiracy charges. Now, he gets to start over and he is doing so fairly soon. XXL says he will be dropping a new track called “First Day Out.” In the video above, tons of people close to him are there to greet him. They crowd around him in jubilation as he is all smiles.
What are your initial thoughts on Ralo being released from prison after nearly six years? Are you excited to hear more music from him? Will his new track be a hit? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Ralo, as well as everything else going on around in the music world.
B.G. is ready to get back to the music. Speaking alongside with Boosie Badazz to DJ Tony Neal, B.G. is targeting a joint album with his fellow Louisiana rapper.
“We got a album coming together,” B.G. said. “I just wanted to come through, give him a shout out, man, let him know I appreciate everything he did for me while I was down, y’know what I’m saying?
B.G. is already planning his return to his rap career. On a phone call, B.G. linked with 2 Chainz, who shared a clip of the NOLA legend disclosing his career plans.
“I should be back on the road by November, December,” B.G. said. “I’m looking forward to it, but I’m about to get in this lab and do 7 or 8 albums. I got too much shit.”
2 Chainz told B.G. that he needed between 30-45 days to “get calibrated.” B.G. agreed, stating he wants to get with kids and be celebrated by real love.
B.G. was officially released from prison in early September. Birdman hit Instagram to share an Instagram Live where he greets the former Cash Money rapper. You can see the special moment below.
