Lil Reese Released From Prison

Authorities released Chicago rapper Lil Reese from prison according to HipHopDX, where he was held on assault charges. According to online records obtained from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, he was released on Thursday (January 12). Moreover, after a pretrial hearing, the court dropped at least one of the charges against him.

Furthermore, Reese faced a misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault against a family member last May. While original reports just mentioned that charge, prison records show two felonies and an additional misdemeanor. However, the documents don’t specify the nature of these additional charges.

Also, a case against the 30-year-old seems to have finalized with a “GPE sentence.” This suggests that authorities ordered him to make a payment through Government Payment EXP, a private company that collects fines and court fees through various mediums. Still, whether they are linked to his arrest or part of his terms of release is unknown at the moment.

While many are already celebrating, the 300 S**t MC hasn’t posted anything on his socials as of writing this article. Last we heard from him, he welcomed his baby daughter in May just days before his arrest. However, funnily enough, his daughter was (technically) one of the most recent people to update fans.

Last week on January 6th, Reese’s girlfriend Kimani posted screenshots to their daughter’s Instagram page. They featured the rapper talking with his daughter on FaceTime. It’s actually been somewhat of a big 12 months for Reese, considering the ten year anniversary of his Chief Keef collab “Don’t Like.”

Meanwhile, some of Lil Reese’s last exploits were calling out Lil Durk doppelgänger Perkio for meeting up with 6ix9ine. Before this recent arrest, authorities held Lil Reese on domestic violence charges in Chicago in 2021. While police arrested him immediately, he returned after posting $10,000 bond.

What do you think of Lil Reese’s release from prison? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for the latest updates from Lil Reese.

The Wolf Of Grape Street rapper was granted parole following a hearing in June 2022. In the months that followed, he completed a program that finally enabled his freedom.

At the time, he was also at the height of his career and a leading force of Los Angeles’s rap scene. He released The Wolf Of Grapestreet shortly afterward, boasting appearances from OMB Peezy, PNB Rock, and Ralfy The Plug.

03 Greedo dropped his latest project, Free 03 just days before his release. The new project marked his first release since 2020’s Load It Up with production handled entirely by Mike Free. Free 03 also included appearances from BlueBucksClan, OhGeesy, KenTheMan, and the late Drakeo The Ruler.

Throughout his incarceration, Greedo’s delivered an influx of music such as Netflix and Deal with Kenny Beats, Still Summer In The Projects with Mustard, and a string of singles in between. However, in an interview with Complex in 2019, 03 Greedo said that he’d take more time with his music after he was released from prison.

“When I come out, I’m gonna be talking about more glamorous things,” he said. “When I get out, I’m gonna write more and take more time. The release process won’t be the same; I won’t flood the industry. It’ll be more precise.”

We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Greedo.

Though the California rapper remains incarcerated on drug charges, it seems like things might actually be looking up in his case. Meanwhile, journalist Jeff Weiss, who has closely followed Greedo’s case, confirmed the news on Twitter.

“Out of respect for Greedo’s right to break the news however he wants to break it, I can’t officially confirm anything,” he wrote. “But this Texas parole info is accurate. 03 should be coming home at some point this week. A 5-year nightmare finally coming to an end.”

Following a spur of releases, a judge sentenced Greedo to 20 years in prison in 2018 after striking a deal for guns and drugs charges in Texas. At this time, Greedo was at the height of his career with collaborations alongside Lil Uzi Vert, and more.

Brittney Griner Gives Update Following Prison Release: “I’m Happy”

Brittney Griner is finally a free woman. After serving 294 days in a Russian prison, she’s on her way back home to the United States.

Previously, the WNBA star made headlines due to her nine-year prison sentence for drug possession in the foreign country. She was arrested on February 17 for attempting to bring cannabis with her on a trip.

The sentence was not far off from the maximum that she was facing. Prosecutors had asked for a 9.5 year sentence in the trial.

Four months later, the 32-year-old is on her way back home after a prison swap got official approval.

President Joe Biden consequently made the announcement yesterday (December 8) via Twitter. In the photos, POTUS and Vice President Kamala Harris are seen talking with the athlete’s wife, Cherelle Griner, in the White House.

In a video of newly-released Griner en route back home on the plane, the Phoenix Mercury star looks undoubtedly thrilled. When asked about her mood, she simply responds “I’m happy” with a smile.

Rumours surrounding a possible prison swap in order to get Griner home previously began going around for a few months now.

The exchange between the U.S. and Russia was a one-for-one swap. Surprisingly, international arms dealer Viktor Bout was freed by the U.S. in order to bring Griner home.

In Russian footage, the world was witness to the trade taking place on the tarmac of a United Arab Emirates airport.

The Russian arms dealer has a gruesome nickname – “Merchant of Death.” Of course, this has sparked some debate about the fairness of the exchange.

Others have chimed in, suggesting that another detained American should have been freed instead of the WNBA player. Paul Whelan is a former U.S. marine, who was detained by Russian authorities in 2018.

Two years, later he was sentenced to 16 years in prison for his alleged involvement in an intelligence operation. However, he is still presently serving this time.

Nonetheless, the U.S. is standing by the swap. Officials are indicating that the country didn’t have a choice of which American to bring home.

Let us know your thoughts on the trade down below. Additionally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates on Griner’s return home.
