Drake’s Setlist At Dreamville Fest 2023
Dreamville Fest 2023 had a lot of notable moments, which of course took advantage of the festival landing on April Fool’s Day. However, one person who clearly didn’t play around with their set was Drake, who held a headlining spot with J. Cole on Sunday (April 2). Moreover, the “Middle of the Ocean” MC gave fans a setlist full of hits, surprises, and a run-through of his acclaimed catalog. Not only that, but he also brought out many guests: GloRilla, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, and co-headliner and label boss J. Cole.
Furthermore, this live performance left fans very satisfied, which at least partially makes up for Drake’s recent festival woes. Following a few controversial performances for Lollapalooza Argentina and Brazil, the Dreamville set brought his quality standards back up. Still, the 6 God probably shouldn’t receive as much blame for those mishaps, as they were probably due to planning and logistics not lining up perfectly. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how the rap star addresses or makes up for those criticisms- and if he’s even the right person to reprimand for them.
Drake Enlists A Stacked Crew For His Performance & Hints At More New Music
In other Drake news, recently released and teased tracks have fans ready for even more from the OVO mogul. Of course, it’s not like he needs the extra push, given his incredibly successful 2022. First, he shook fans expectations, albeit to mixed critical results, on the house-inspired Honestly, Nevermind. Then, he brought fans a hefty helping of 21 Savage collaborations on Her Loss, which many felt was much more in line with his skillset.
Despite what many might say about his recent artistic moves, you can’t deny that Drake finds new ways to both surprise fans and stick to his guns. Although not everyone got to see his Dreamville Fest set, it certainly got fans excited to see him on the road again. With that in mind, check out the tracklist below and some performance highlights. Drake Lists Home Studio For $250K An Hour
Drake’s always one to make money moves, but letting fans into his property seems like an extra step ahead. Moreover, the Toronto superstar recently put his home studio up for rent on the popular recording space app StuFinder. Not only that, but an hour in Drizzy’s studio costs a staggering $250,000 dollars, so those sessions better be quick. Still, the listing mentions that all custom recording equipment forms part of the price, making it almost all-access. Amid new music releases and more on the way, an engineer and Drake feature won’t come with the hourly price range, and likely costs a lot extra.
Furthermore, the 36-year-old recently showed a new song “Rescue Me” on Sound 42’s latest episode of The Fry Yiy Show on SiriusXM. What’s more is that, beyond excitement for a new record, he sampled a voice clip from Kim Kardashian. That already would’ve been enough to stir the pot. However, she actually talks about her divorce from Kanye West in the clip, adding another layer to their civil war. “I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that,” she remarks in the snippet.
Drake’s Studio Available For $250K An Hour
Still, it’ll take some further convincing to fully win Drake fans in Latin America back, for reasons that neither a studio rental nor new song can replace. The 6 God unfortunately fell victim to some festival mishaps for his Lollapalooza shows throughout March. For example, his Argentina set was reportedly late, shortened, and blocked from the festival’s typical livestream, resulting in disappointment. Things escalated further when he canceled his headlining slot in Brazil, only to be spotted in Miami partying with 50 Cent the night before. Despite fan outcry, that’s not necessarily (or probably) the reason why he changed plans.
Meanwhile, another unreleased track also has fans ready for even more new Drake music after two albums last year. “I need someone to be patient with me / Someone to get money, would not take it from me,” he raps on an Instagram snippet. “They don’t even need to be as famous as me / I don’t think I meet ’em at the places I be / But deep down I think about you all day, mami.” Maybe that kind of excitement is what might prompt artists to create their own OVO-tinged magic in the superstar’s studio. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Drake.
Winnie Harlow Poses For OVO
Winnie Harlow is currently one of the most famous models in the entire world. Overall, she has posed in a plethora of magazines and ad campaigns. Moreover, she is someone who has been able to keep a high profile as a result of her work. Fans love her, and there is no denying that she is a recognizable face who can help sell products. Additionally, she is also someone who makes headlines for her dating life. For instance, her relationship with Washington Wizards star Kyle Kuzma is something that is always brought up.
Now, the summer is quickly approaching as we are officially in Spring. This means various brands are trying to push apparel for the upcoming season. Consequently, this means a lot more modeling opportunities are here for those who may need them. Harlow understands this better than anyone as someone who has worked in the industry. Luckily for her, she has just scored a new job as the face of OVO’s latest collection. Of course, OVO stands for October’s Very Own, which is Drake’s signature brand.
Winnie Harlow Helps Promote New Collection
In the Instagram post above, you can see Winnie Harlow modeling some dope pieces. The main piece here is a green hoodie with a large OVO owl on the front. This owl is black with gold trim, which is a staple of the OVO brand. Furthermore, she also got to show off a grey crewneck and some grey sweatpants. Both of these pieces contain the black and gold owl that has made the brand so famous. While the summer might be almost here, the pieces above are certainly for cooler weather. Since we are in the early stages of spring, perhaps those in Northern states can benefit from these.
If you are interested in this brand-new collection, it will be dropping on Friday, March 31st. You will also be able to cop the various pieces through octobersveryown.com. Drake Links With 50 Cent In Miami
The rap realms of OVO and G-Unit may not have crossed over on a track yet, but at least its two leaders have a lot of respect for one another. Moreover, Drake and 50 Cent just linked up at a Miami club where the latter performed on Saturday night (March 25). Furthermore, this link-up comes after the 6 God recently previewed new music on his Instagram, which has fans ready for yet another drop soon. However, a lot of people aren’t actually very happy with this crossover at all. In fact, many are outraged because the Canadian superstar canceled his headlining performance at Lollapalooza Brazil in São Paulo on Sunday night (March 27), citing issues with production and sound.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drake is without members of his sound and production team, essential to the realization of the Lollapalooza show in Sao Paulo,” a statement on the festival’s official Instagram post read. “Drake was excited to perform for his fans in Brazil,” the statement added. “Unfortunately, this is beyond his control. Apologies.” What’s more is that this isn’t the first time that Drake’s recent Lollapalooza appearances in Latin America caused an uproar. Fans expressed disappointment and anger over his Lolla Argentina set, which while amazing during its run, was also short, late, and canceled its livestream just minutes before starting.
50 Cent & Drake In Miami
Still, a lot of fans already let that go, and now hyper-focused on the prospect of new music from Drake. Similarly, 50 fans eagerly await his next album, as he spoke on working with Dr. Dre, Eminem, and more. Not only that, but the hip-hop world got even more excited when he revealed he’s guesting on Nas and Hit-Boy’s King’s Disease IV.
Meanwhile, maybe Drake will never address his set issues with various Lollapalooza festivals in Latin America. Regardless, he’s the kind of artist that draws eyes for anything and everything he does, whether negative or positive. With that in mind, class actions lawsuits against Ticketmaster for overpriced Drake tickets might paint that tour in a negative light for some time. Still, fans expect a great set of shows regardless. For the latest on Drake and 50 Cent, stick around on HNHH.
Popcaan Shares New Single “Bend It Over”
Popcaan is revving up for the deluxe release of his latest project, Great Is He. Released through OVO, the Jamaican dancehall star returned with a new body of work to set the tone for 2023. With singles like “We Caa Done” and the Burna Boy-assisted, “Aboboyaa,” Popcaan delivered a body of work that’s best fit for the summer. However, there’s no doubt that with the shivering winter weather, we needed a record like Great Is He to provide us with a shred of hope that summer will come soon.
However, it looks like Popcaan is now gearing up to drop off a deluxe edition in the near future. This morning, he came through with his latest single, “Bend It Over” to kick off the campaign. The bouncy and breezy anthem finds Popcaan divulging romantic and sexual fantasies through honeyed harmonies and infectious lyrics. Though he hasn’t revealed many details about Great Is He deluxe, Popcaan confirmed a March 31st release date.
Popcaan’s “Great Is He” Deluxe Is On The Way
While the dancehall scene thrives off of the release of singles rather than bodies of work, it appears that the “Skeleton Cartier” artist aimed to make a statement to his peers with Great Is He. During an interview with Crack Magazine, Popcaan said that he’s urging fellow Jamaican artists to consider delivering fleshed-out albums instead of one-off songs. “No one’s doing it,” he said. “I try to appeal to my Jamaican artists, telling all of them to put out more albums. People just see Jamaican music as singles.”
Perhaps the most shocking aspect of the interview came when Popcaan suggested that he would be parting ways with OVO Sound in the near future to pursue his career as an independent artist. “I have so much music. The label can be weird sometimes. I love the label, but I don’t like them…But I’ll be independent soon,” he explained. Though Popcaan didn’t confirm when this would happen, we imagine that Great Is He deluxe could be one of his final offerings on the Drake co-founded imprint.
Quotable Lyrics
And yuh know mi love make them fly
