Asher Roth Drops New Single “Dimma (Last Chance U)”

Asher Roth has returned with a new single. The Pennsylvania-born rapper reflects on getting older in “Dimma (Last Chance U),” enlisting the help of Swedish producer Guala. The track is grounded by a fuzzy, laid-back beat and guided by introspective bars. A flowery piano accompaniment provides it with a dreamy, nostalgic edge. The 37-year-old spits about writing new music, smacking “a**,” and how life just gets harder when you grow up.

Roth is most well-know for his 2009 Asleep in the Bread Aisle track, “I Love College.” Last month, the rapper dropped “En Gratis,” which also features production from Guala. This latest track also follows his 2022 collaborative EP with Salt Lake City producer Heather Grey, Why’s It So Grey Out?

“Dimma (Last Chance U)”

In July, Asher Roth sat down with Luke Bailey of the Fly Fidelity podcast, sharing some new details of his upcoming EP. Roth revealed that he’d be teaming up with Logic, who will reportedly be producing a lot of it. “He’s just got ridiculous beats, so there may actually be a world where he and I collaborate when he gets off the road and do a little joint,” Roth explained. “I don’t know how much rapping he’ll do, but it’ll be a lot of beats produced by him.

He went on to discuss some of the work he’s dropping ahead of the Logic-produced EP. “Samples are tricky,” he described, “but we will release a handful of more Soundcloud, nostalgic ‘Blog Era’ type joints to grease the wheel. And then, from there, I will release the follow-up to Why’s It So Grey Out? I am very happy with how it’s [turning] out… it’s honest.” Asher Roth is also scheduled to make his way around the U.S. later this month, with stops in Montana, Utah, California, and a slew of dates in Texas.

Usher Calls Being Single “The Hardest Thing” He’s “Ever Had To Do”

Usher’s back in full promo and music mode these days, dropping a new single with 21 S*vage and Summer Walker and enjoying his Las Vegas residency. Recently, to talk about upcoming plans, a new album, and all that’s going on in his life, he sat down for a cover interview with VIBE magazine. Moreover, the R&B superstar reflected on a lot across his storied career, including the warring sides of his personality and what his experiences have taught him. However, he also backtracked on famous lines from “Confessions Part II,” and did so to many fans’ amusement on social media. They thought that the most difficult challenge in Mr. Raymond’s life was telling the girl she loves that he’s having a baby with a woman he barely knows, as the song goes.

Jokes aside, Usher said”the hardest thing that [he’s] ever had to do” isn’t that, but rather just being single. “The idea of creating a life with someone is what I would like to do, maybe because I didn’t have or didn’t see that,” the 44-year-old remarked. And I get to remedy that idea by having an incredible partnership. I can then have the thing that I ultimately wanted to see.”

Usher Reveals His Toughest Challenge

Overall, it seems like this obstacle in the crooner’s way is due to the fact that he doesn’t like to be alone. Of course, there are very few people out there who don’t want some company at least some of the time, and it’s about as relatable as Usher can be as a massive entertainer. Still, it’s definitely something that he keeps close to his chest, because his live shows certainly haven’t lost any of their luster no matter his relationship status. In fact, he communicates that longing quite well for audiences, and always keeps things compelling.

Meanwhile, other press runs of his also centered around relationships- but not his own. While speaking to PEOPLE, the Southern heartthrob spoke on the Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson drama that came up after he serenaded the former at his show. He clearly didn’t mean anything by it, and hopes that people will mostly remember the good time that they had. For more news and the latest updates on Usher, keep checking in with HNHH.

Kevin Gates Isn’t Holding Anything Back On “I Don’t Apologize”

Kevin Gates is well known by many for some of the strange headlines that have followed him throughout his career. Last year, he dropped his third studio album Khaza. The hour-long album had just one feature, Juicy J, but went on to commercial success regardless. It debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200, marking his third straight studio album to make its debut in the top 10. In that span, he also has two other mixtapes, By Any Means 2 and Luca Brasi 3, debut inside the top 10. Earlier this year Gates released a new mixtape called The Luca Brasi Story (A Decade of Brasi). That project included features from Terrence Hines, Percy Keith, Curren$y, and Master P.

On his new song, “I Don’t Apologize” Gates is once again an open book. The track sees him reminiscing on his past and his come up in pretty explicit detail. The song follows many of the hardships of his journey including things he was forced to do and people who aren’t around anymore. But it ends with a pretty triumphant conclusion. Gates succeeds in making it to where he always wanted to be and refuses to apologize for anything that happened along the way. The track features a booming trap beat over which Kevin Gates tells fans a number of detailed stories. You can check out the song’s official music video below.

Kevin Gates Won’t Apologize For His Success

Earlier this year Kevin Gates appeared on NLE Choppa’s new album Cottonwood 2. The project also featured other high-profile guests like Lil Wayne, Fivio Foreign, G Herbo, and Rick Ross. The deluxe edition added even more big guest verses from Fridayy and Sexyy Red.

Gates has also dropped plenty of singles of his own. He teamed up all the way back in March with TI for a new track called “Active.” His most recent release was the more somber “Do It Again” back in May. What do you think of Kevin Gates’ new song? Let us know in the comment section below.

Snoop Dogg Scores His First Diamond Single, “California Gurls”

13 years after its release, this West Coast pop anthem just made history for the two artists that released it. Moreover, Snoop Dogg just earned his first-ever Diamond-certified single by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), “California Gurls” with Katy Perry. Not only that, but the singer also reached a huge milestone by becoming the female artist with the most Diamond hits according to the RIAA. For those unaware, a Diamond certification from the association means that the release in question sold at least 10 million equivalent units. As such, it’s clear that this song is still in rotation, whether it’s people feeling nostalgia for it or discovering it for the first time.

Of course, high acclaim and success is nothing new for Tha Doggfather. While this specific instance is an example of commercial success, the Long Beach MC has garnered loads of respect. For example, he recently revealed that James Brown told him he was the hardest-working artist in the industry. Furthermore, Snoop Dogg transcended the hip-hop genre when it came to his star power, something that his many partnerships, pop crossovers, and more endeavors continue to prove.

“California Gurls,” Snoop Dogg’s First Diamond Song

“California Gurls” was the first single for Katy Perry’s third album, 2010’s Teenage Dream. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts and remained at No. 1 for six consecutive weeks. However, interestingly enough, the Snoop Dogg collab idea came from another successful rap crossover hit. According to the “Electric” hitmaker, she was inspired by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ fellow city-honoring hit, “Empire State Of Mind.” Still, the reasons behind that inspiration were as competitive as they were admiring.

“When I came up with the idea of ‘California Gurls,’ it was because I was a little bit jealous of all the love that was given to the East Coast,” she revealed to MTV in 2010. “I thought for sure Tupac was rolling in his grave, and the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson was totally upset.” Furthermore, she said it was “perfect timing” for a Cali hit. Lil Tjay Relives “June 22nd” In New Single

Exactly one year ago today, Lil Tjay was rushed into emergency, life-saving surgery at a New Jersey hospital after being shot seven times. The 22-year-old has shared a new single, dubbed “June 22nd,” outlining the experience. He reflects on the events leading up to the shooting, taking an introspective approach to the tragedy. The new single is also joined by a dramatic accompanying music video, which sees Lil Tjay reliving “June 22nd.”

Only months after the shooting, he also addressed the experience on his song “Beat The Odds.” It details how Lil Tjay is “grateful” to have survived. “Seven shots, it was tough, you know?,” Lil Tjay told fans on Instagram. He explained, “Most people don’t survive it, but I’m here. Here for a reason.”

Lil Tjay Reflects On Being Shot

Lil Tjay takes listeners through the sequence of events that took place before he was shot on “June 22nd.” In the song, he also reveals that the shooting occurred right after he met Ice Spice at a recording studio. The two were likely in talks at the time about a potential collaboration, which may have eventually materialized into their song “Gangsta Boo.”

Earlier this month, Lil Tjay was arrested for brandishing a fake gun out of a car’s sunroof in New York City for a music video. He is shown in the video for “June 22nd” poking out of a sunroof, though there’s no gun to be seen. Regardless, this could have been the project that landed him behind bars for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Killer Mike Recruits Andre 3000, Future, Eryn Allen Kane For “Scientists & Engineers”

Killer Mike has brought along some Atlanta legends for his new single. His new song “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” features contributions from Andre 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane. The track is the fifth taste Mike has given fans of his upcoming album Michael. It’s yet another song stacked with talent following appearances from Young Thug, El-P, and Thankugoorsir on previous tracks. The song continues the trend of gospel-inspired hip-hop that has run throughout all the singles so far. It opens with verses from both Future and Andre before Mike himself even appears on the song.

The track almost didn’t end up having Andre 3000 on it at all. Mike revealed a few weeks ago that Andre had second thoughts about the song and tried to back out after recording his verse. He claims that after hearing Eryn Allen Kane’s contribution to the song, Andre changed his mind and gave the okay to release the track. Killer Mike reportedly spent over $500k of his own money on his upcoming new project. Michael drops later this week and “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” is the final single for the album.

Killer Mike’s New Star-Studded Song

Michael is Killer Mike’s first solo project in over 10 years. His previous solo outing R.A.P Music was fully produced by New York MC El-P. The pair went on to continue working together as Run The Jewels. They’ve dropped 4 albums under that project, most recently RTJ4 in 2020. Their song “Chase Me” with Danger Mouse and Big Boi was nominated for the Best Rap Song Grammy in 2018. Michael will be Killer Mike’s first album not produced by El-P since 2011’s Pledge.

Earlier this year Killer Mike joined some other Atlanta artists on a new single. T.I. and Young Booke’s “The Real A” features a verse standout verse from Mike. What do you think about Killer Mike and company’s new track? Let us know in the comment section below.

Doe Boy Thanks Ja Rule And J-Lo For Finally Clearing Sample

Sampling is an often controversial part of making music. It’s gotten even more heated in recent years when artists have faced lawsuits just because their music sounds too much like someone else’s. So for artists to protect themselves, clearing a sample is absolutely essential. For Doe Boy, the process of getting a sample cleared took a lot longer than anticipated. His new song “Way I Walk” dropped a few days ago. According to Doe Boy himself, it took 12 months to clear a sample for use in the song.

A popular remix of Jennifer Lopez’s 2001 song “I’m Real” is an essential piece of Doe Boy’s new track. After a very long process of trying to get his sample of the song cleared, Doe Boy was finally able to release his own track. He recently posted a video thanking both J-Lo and Ja-Rule for their help getting it cleared. “Thank you J.Lo, I appreciate it. I been begging yo a*s for a year, we finally made it happen,” he says.

Doe Boy’s Thankful Video

He also posted on his Instagram to celebrate and promote the new song. “Everybody say THANK YOU @jlo. ‘WAY I WALK’ finally cleared,” he says in the caption. “Way I Walk” is the second new single Doe Boy has released this year following “Roll The Dice” with Dej Loaf. The song also got its own music video which has racked up over 100k views in just a few days.

Doe Boy had an even busier 2022 dropping two projects and dozens of features. His 19-track album OH REALLY came out earlier in the year and sports features from Lil Uzi Very, Ty Dolla $ign, Roddy Rich, and many more. He followed it up with his CATCH ME IF YOU CAN EP earlier this year. He also joined Smiley in the features list of Killy’s Crazy Life Of Sin EP later in the year. What do you think about Doe Boy’s new song and how long it took him to clear the sample? Let us know your thoughts on the song and sampling in general in the comments below.

G Herbo has seemingly confirmed that he and fiancée Taina Williams have broken up. In a post on his Instagram Story, Tuesday, he revealed that he’s “single.” The two began dating in 2019 and share two children: their two-year-old son, Essex, and one-year-old daughter, Emmy.

It’s unclear exactly what prompted the split; however, The Neighborhood Talk recently noted that Herbo complained about her not wearing pants in a recent social media post. The post features a video of Williams showing off her figure in a tight bodysuit. “You coulda had on some boy shorts type shit,” Herbo commented on the post.

“She probably finally text somebody back, after him cheating numerous times,” one fan commented on the post. Another argued: “I never understood why females think posting half naked on the internet for some views is ok. Especially when you have a dude. That’s disrespectful af cuz it’s a time and place for everything.” Check out Herbo’s Instagram post here.

It’s not the first time G Herbo has had relationship trouble make headlines. He previously admitted to beginning his relationship with Williams when he was still with his ex-girlfriend, Ari Fletcher. “I was young, I was dumb! I ain’t know no better, I was just doing shit!” he said on Yung Miami’s Caresha Please podcast, last year. “Me and Ari was at a space, and I done talked to her about this already, I done already bid my peace and apologized. We was at a space where, like I said, mentally I be going through shit and I gotta separate myself from shit. Me and her was having our differences, but that was no excuse to cheat on her, that was not why I cheated on her. I didn’t intentionally do all that.”
