Drake & Central Cee Celebrate Summer ’23 In Canadian’s Latest IG Post

For many of us, 2023 has been the first summer where life has felt mostly normal following the COVID-19 pandemic. So many of our favourite artists headed out across the globe on tour this season. There’s been Beyonce and Taylor Swift’s record-setting RENAISSANCE and Eras tours. More recently, we’ve also seen Drake and 21 Sav embark on their It’s All a Blur joint effort. The latter has only been entertaining crowds in North America so far. Those in Vancouver were able to see Travis Scott join his “MELTDOWN” collaborator to perform their UTOPIA track for the first time together live.

Champagne Papi still has audiences to sing to over the coming weeks of summer. According to his latest Instagram post, the 36-year-old is ready to embrace the fall vibes. “What a summer it was…” he captioned his upload that landed on Thursday (September 7) evening. Drake kicked things off with one of his favourite foreign rappers, Central Cee. The two friends looked seriously into the camera while embracing each other with brotherly love.

In the middle snap, the father of one appears to be lost in the sauce during a studio session. He has a large glass of what appears to be a fruity cocktail beside him, boldly placed right beside expensive sound equipment that’s likely being used to perfect the Canadian’s next project, which could potentially include a collaboration with Cench.

Drake has been keeping fans who couldn’t make it to his It’s All a Blur tour updated on all the highs and lows via Instagram. Unfortunately, he only recently confirmed a release date for his highly anticipated For All The Dogs album after failing to deliver it at the end of August. The latest gossip we’ve heard about the project came from the rapper’s father, Dennis Graham, who had plenty of praise for his son’s work. Chrisean Rock Dodges Jail Time In Oklahoma Drug Case

It’s been a week of good news for Chrisean Rock. The Crazy In Love star finally gave birth to her firstborn child with Blueface, who she named after herself. The California rapper hasn’t necessarily been happy for her but regardless, it seems like the blessings keep coming to her. According to Urban Islandz, Chrisean Rock won’t face any jail time for the drug charges she caught in Oklahoma. Per court documents, Rock pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a tax stamp and possession with the intent to distribute, both of which carry a year-long sentence.

Chrisean Rock’s attorney, Ken Gallon, asked the judge to refrain from handing down a custodial sentence on the grounds that Chrisean maintained a clean record. The judge agreed and instead, sentenced Chrisean Rock to four years on probation. Until her probation period ends on March 12th, 2027, Chrisean must also complete 120 hours of community service at a homeless shelter; pay a $991 fine to the D.A.’s office, and comply with state, tribal, federal, and municipal laws.

Blueface’s Threat To Chrisean Rock

Even though Chrisean Rock’s given birth to a healthy child and avoided jail time, she still has to deal with Blueface’s wrath. The rapper made a number of derogatory remarks towards her since she welcomed their son, going as far as claiming that she only gave birth for clout. Additionally, he threatened to file for sole custody of Chrisean Jr., hoping to raise his kids under one roof and away from Chrisean Rock.

Rock, who opened an Instagram account for her son days after his birth, took to Live to respond to Blueface. “You know how much sh*t I took when I was pregnant with him? Nobody taking my baby, yo. So, like, no,” she said. “We fall short because you don’t control my phones no more. I left what you took. Straight up,” she added before explaining that much of the money she made with him came with the cost of being traumatized. Check out the Live above.

Nicki Minaj Will Reprise Role As Host And Performer At VMAs

Last year, Nicki Minaj had a pretty big night at the VMAs. The beloved rap star and hitmaker was receiving the coveted Video Vanguard award and as a result, delivered a show-stopping melody of some of her most well-known songs. But she also served as an MC of sorts taking over some of the duties that would normally be saved for a host. She shared those duties with LL Cool J and Jack Harlow but apparently, Minaj did such a great job that she’s being invited back.

Once again at this year’s VMAs which take place next week, Nicki Minaj will be serving double duty as host and performer. This time around she’ll be performing her new single “Last Time I Saw You” which has been out for just over a week and already has almost 9 million streams on Spotify. This year, she will also be undertaking MC duties all on her own. “Minaj will announce the show’s star-studded lineup of performers, presenters, and winners,” the announcement of her role reads. As usual, the VMAs have a roster of performers that includes many of the biggest stars in the music industry. The show takes place on September 8 at 8 pm EST.

Nicki Minaj has also been collecting major streaming milestones recently. Her track “Seeing Green” just hit 100 million streams on Spotify. The track became her 75th to hit the major milestone. That came just a week after she became the first female rapper to reach 31 billion total Spotify streams across her entire discography.

Nicki Minaj is gearing up to release her first new album since 2018. Pink Friday 2 is scheduled for later this year. Nicki has continued the campaign towards its release by sharing album covers for it, though she didn’t share which one was the official artwork. Israel Adesanya Promises To Break Sean Strickland’s Jaw If He Talks In The Ring During UFC 293 Fight

There’s certainly no love lost between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland. The two men are due to face off in the headline fight of UFC 293 on September 10, with Adesanya seeking to defend his middleweight belt. Of course, the pair have traded barbs back and forth in the run-up to the bout. However, it appears that Adesanya is tired of Strickland running his mouth.

“I do wanna shut him up and I’m gonna shut him up. I’m gonna break his jaw if he keeps talkin’ to me while he’s in there, trust. When you’re talkin’, you never know when a shot’s coming, the jab can hit you while your mouth open and send your jaw to the back of your head,” Adesanya told TMZ. “[Sean] should just thank me. He got his passport, he got the fight, he gets to travel out of the country for the first time, actually see the world instead of being a fucking hillbilly and yeah, he should thank me. Should really appreciate the fact that I got him the opportunity and he’s gonna get paid, he can buy his boat and then he can fuck off and make other opportunities,” he continued.

Adesanya Headlines UFC’s Return To Australia

UFC 293 is the first event to be held in Australia since 2017. For Adesanya, it will be his seventh title defense fight, but his first since reclaiming the belt at UFC 287. Stylebender briefly lost the belt to Alex Periera at UFC 281 in 2022 but won it back in the rematch in April of this year. However, Strickland wasn’t the first choice for this fight. Adesanya was meant to fight Dricus du Plessis, the South African fighter that he has been publicly beefing with for most of this year. However, with du Plessis injured, the fifth-ranked Strickland was subbed in.

“Do I think he deserves it? I think he’s been in there long enough to earn it. To step in there with me, my ego says no. My ego says we’re levels above. He knows it. I know but he knows he still has a chance of winning this fight. I just have to make sure it’s the minimalist chance ever. That’s my job. “I know he’s dangerous because a man with everything to gain and nothing to lose is a fucking dangerous man but I have a habit of making dangerous men look easy,” Adesanya said when asked if Strickland deserved the title shot.

Jamie Foxx Shines As Smooth-Talking Lawyer In “The Burial”

Jamie Foxx is back with yet another project. Despite being taken out of action with a medical emergency in April, Foxx has been getting plenty of screentime. In the past two months, we’ve seen the veteran actor in They Cloned Tyrone and Strays. However, his next project, The Burial, will highlight Foxx in a whole new light. For this project, we get to see Jamie Foxx as a wise-cracking, smooth-talking lawyer in the 1990s.

Set in 1995, The Burial follows the case of Jeremiah “Jerry” O’Keefe, a WW2 fighter ace and beloved funeral home magnate in Mississippi. After being swindled out of his business by the Canadian funeral megacorp, the Loewen Group. Finally in a fight he doesn’t think he can win, O’Keefe retains the services of slick and successful personal injury lawyer Willie E. Gary. Gary must contend with a hotshot attorney representing Loewen as well as his own perceptions of what the case is actually about. The Burial will premiere at TIFF on September 11 and get a full release on Prime Video on October 6.

Foxx Amongst Heavy Hitting Cast For The Burial

Foxx, who plays Willie E. Gary, is just one of several big names in this heavy-hitter legal drama. O’Keefe is played by Tommy Lee Jones, who is making his first film appearance since 2020. Meanwhile, Gary’s legal opposition is played by Jurnee Smollett. Furthermore, other recognizable faces include Mamoudou Athie (Archive 81) and Bill Camp.

Additionally, The Burial is one of eight projects that Foxx reportedly has in the works. While many of those projects are on hold due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, a few could be coming out in the next few months. Foxx is slated to play God in Not Another Church Movie, which is reportedly in post-production. Additionally, there is another legal biopic Signal Hill. Reportedly in post-production, it stars Anthony Mackie as civil rights lawyer Johnny Cochran, best known for leading OJ Simpson’s legal team. Foxx reportedly plays Black Panthers leader Elmer ‘Geronimo’ Pratt.

In the past few months, she hasn’t necessarily been seen out and about, nor has she released music. At the same time, the court of public opinion was turning against her. Fans and peers began publicly siding with Tory Lanez after a judge found him guilty of shooting Megan.

As many celebrities began to show their support for Lanez, Megan faced accusations of lying on the Canadian rapper, among other things. However, Cardi B was still in her corner. This morning, the two released their new single, “Bongos,” their second collaboration since “WAP,” and hopped on Instagram Live to discuss the single beforehand. Megan opened up about Cardi’s support and how the Bronx MC continuously held her down when it felt like everyone else was against her.

During their livestream, Meg explained how she’s created boundaries with people to ensure her peace of mind. So, I just wanna say, Cardi, I really love you so much and I really appreciate it.”

She added, “At a time you could have jumped ship, you never jumped ship. Antonio Brown Gives Pants And Phone To Random Florida State Student

Earlier this week, Antonio Brown was at Florida State. He was seen partying with members of the Theta Chi fraternity, including performing some of his music with them. The video of that link-up, posted by Brown himself, included the cryptic phrase “Catch the Energy”, which Brown has been utilizing for the past few days. However, new footage from that party shows Brown engaging in some more typical Antonio Brown behavior.

In one video uploaded by a party attendee, a mostly naked Brown is seen throwing his pants to a student. The student then reveals that because of this, he is now in possession of not only Brown’s pants but also his phone. The short video shows the student scrolling through Brown’s notifications and trying a few passcodes on his lock screen. It’s unclear if Brown later retook possession of his phone. Brown himself later tweeted “Where my @.”

All of this comes during the same week that Brown made some bizarre claims. Earlier this week, Brown appeared to claim that he had CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy). Commonly found in contact sports athletes, CTE is a degenerative neurological disease caused by repetitive head trauma. However, Brown has now clarified what he meant by CTE. In a tweet late on September 6, Brown said “C.atch T.he E.nergy CTE!!!!” No one is quite sure what the phrase means, but Brown is certainly using it.

Furthermore, Brown may also be eager to deflect from the stories coming out about his tenure as owner of the Arena Football team, the Albany Empire. According to wide receiver Darius Prince, the players confronted Brown after he ordered a tribute to a former player be deleted from social media. After things got heated, Brown reportedly asked his assistant to go get a firearm from Brown’s car. “After he said that, things did calm down, and we had a conversation. But the fact is that he threatened us by telling his assistant to grab his AR.”

Cincinnati Bengals Make Joe Burrow The Highest-Paid Player In NFL History

The Bengals have finally locked quarterback Joe Burrow into a long-term deal. After months of negotiations, it was revealed that Burrow would become the highest-paid player in NFL history. His new deal with the Bengals is a five-year, $275 million extension with $219.01 million guaranteed. The deal surpasses those of Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and Lamar Jackson, all signed this summer and all briefly the biggest in NFL history.

“This is where I want to be. This is where I want to be my whole career. We’re working toward making that happen. You’ve seen what the front office has done and what Zac [Taylor] has done in their time here. I’m a small part of that [and] I’m excited to be a part of that. I’m going to keep playing well. I feel great about the organization and everybody in the locker room and in the coaching staff. [The contract] is the icing on the cake to me. I’m just excited to be out here,” Burrow told reporters.

Burrow has just 42 career games to his name. However, he is already a Super Bowl participant and a Pro Bowler at one of the league’s most hotly-contested positions. Despite suffering a calf injury during training camp, Burrow is expected to be under center for the Bengals when they open their season against the Browns on Sunday. While their secondary was gutted in the offseason, the team is expected to win their third consecutive AFC North title this season. However, a lot of that will hinge on whether Burrow can maintain his hot start as the team’s starter.

“He’s a motivated player, he’s a motivated teammate, he’s a motivated leader,” Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin. “He puts the time in to make sure that he is ready to go and then he drives others to be ready to go. So all the things we liked about him from the very start have been true and he’s kept that up.” Burrow also enters the season with the second-best odds to win MVP. However, these latest claims come just weeks after a series of rumors about the couple went viral. At the end of August, reports began to surface claiming that Steve Harvey and his wife were going through a rough patch. Reportedly, Harvey and his wife were headed for a divorce after Bridges cheated on the TV personality with their bodyguard. Several sources came out to debunk these claims, including the Harveys themselves.
