Chris Brown Reveals How He Has Focused On His Financial Strategy Since He Was 17

Chris Brown reflected on how he’s accumulated his wealth during a recent appearance on the R&B Money Podcast with Tank and J. Valentine. In doing so, he recalled investing in Burger King franchises at a young age, negotiating a 50-50 profit-sharing agreement with his former label, Jive Records, as well as locking down his masters from his 2011 album, F.A.M.E., through his current releases.

“So I’m more like, you know, I’m able to now now see real money or see something from what I’ve created ’cause I know I created it so now, you know, I can go and do this now. I can create some more,” Brown explained, as caught by XXL. “Wait till y’all see what I’m about to create. So now I get to own all of that you know and it’s like what you said, I’m like a testament to [investing in yourself].” He concluded: “Hey, I’m not saying put your head down, just be the best you.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Brown named his five favorite R&B artists as well as his five favorite R&B songs. For singers, he went with Tank, Usher, Brandy, Tevin Campbell, and Sam Cooke. Thanks to a recent social media tease in which Saweetie and Bobbi Althoff put together some awkward dance moves in front of a pool to the former’s new anticipated single, a lot of folks think that they could have an interview on the way. Moreover, it would follow a lot of the usual hype-up for an Althoff sit-down, and the link-up seems a little too out of the blue to not involve something grander. Still, maybe they are just really getting along and wanted to show themselves having some fun online, and that wouldn’t be a bad thing at all. We’ll see if there are similar talking points or contentious moments that result of this hypothetical conversation like the ones that have came up in the past.

Furthermore, Bobbi Althoff’s interviews lean towards slight awkwardness in the public eye given her comedic style, and as of late, they inspired a lot more debate such as her viral “I’m not a musician” moment with Sukihana. Perhaps a convo with Saweetie will hold another miscommunication instance like this, although we’re sure that it would still be an entertaining one to witness even if it’s a completely normal and chilled-out sit-down. But for all our theorizing, there’s no official announcement. So we’ll see what pans out in the near future.

But on a more tantalizing and scandalous note, the Los Angeles MC also came up in the beef between her ex Quavo and Chris Brown, who claimed that he slept with her while they were still together. It seems like she’s had more to chastise the former Migo for than Breezy, but we’ll see if this stays the same or if she has some extra bars on her next song.

Blueface’s mother Karlissa Saffold isn’t the biggest Sexyy Red fan in the world. Towards the end of last year, she called the St. Louis MC “Stanky Red” and said that she was “barely cute,” which clearly did not slow down her momentum at all. Things even escalated again recently, but as Saffold usually does, she took to her Instagram Live from the comfort of a jacuzzi to explain any issues that there could be between them. For one, she suggested that they don’t actually have any issues with one another, and that this is all just the result of Internet humor and easy misconceptions.

“I am not beefing with Sexyy Red,” Karlissa Saffold began her IG Live clip following their exposed DM exchange. “Didn’t she say I said sorry to her? That was in December. So I guess, you know, time’s getting a little hard. But that was in December. I apologized to her, so how am I beefing with her if I apologized to her? Shut the f**k up. I’m trying to help you out, and you over here talking about somebody else that already got more contracts than me and you.

DMX & Mary J Blige Celebrated With Mural In Yonkers Inspired By 2Pac

DMX and Mary J Blige are the subjects of a new mural in Yonkers, New York at Palisade Towers. The mural, titled “Together,” comes in at 78-foot wide by 18-foot-high. Mayor Mike Spano, Yonkers Housing Authority (YHA) CEO Wilson Kimball, Yonkers Arts Executive Director Ray Wilcox, and Artist Robin Alcantara were all on site to unveil it on Thursday.

“It is always a proud day when we can highlight the accomplishments of our city’s residents,” Mayor Spano said. “The talents and accomplishments of these local heroes is an inspiration to us all and a reminder that even those who come from humble beginnings can achieve great things.” Spano previously unveiled another DMX mural back in 2021.

Wilcox explained that the mural, which depicts a rose growing from concrete, was inspired by a poem from 2Pac. Kimball added that the mural will both inspire local residents and bring beauty to an urban area. “When we are surrounded by beauty we are inspired to do our best, and be our best,” she said. “This mural by Robin Alcantara celebrates African American culture and artists who were able to overcome their surroundings and rise to greater things.” Alcantara, the artist, said: “Being able to paint these walls in Yonkers is a dream come true and I am grateful to be able to work with you to bring murals to the city.” Check out a video from the unveiling below.

The couple, who rekindled their romance in 2023 after a decade apart, are expecting their first child together. “Of course not beautiful I’m fine..!! Luv U2,” Nelly captioned a photo of himself and Ashanti.

When The Shade Room shared the post on Instagram, fans took to the comments section to theorize exactly what he meant. “She definitely asked if she’s too heavy that’s why he said what he said,” one fan wrote. Another wrote: “She’s asking him if she’s too heavy and daring him to say yes. He is STRESSED.”

So… is the wait for the Kendrick Lamar response to Drake’s diss tracks really that bad? Well, whether it is or isn’t, there’s a recent boxing victor who chose to capitalize on the moment, celebrate his win, and maybe build a back-up career path in the process. Moreover, fans found it funny that, before K.Dot clapped back at Drizzy, Ryan Garcia dropped a diss track on social media against Devin Haney, whom he recently beat in a boxing match that didn’t count for a title due to Garcia not making weight beforehand. It’s exactly what you expect: a generic trap beat, boasting about the dub, making jokes about Haney’s loss, and admittedly less cringe than what it sounds like.

Furthermore, Ryan Garcia is really feeling himself following this win, and is chirping and chiming into a lot of stuff to prove not just his dominance and relevance, but his will to take things to the next level. To explain this, we have to bring up another boxing beef: Floyd Mayweather versus Gervonta Davis. For those unaware, the former friends have turned sour over the years and are currently throwing shots at each other on social media. Garcia joined the battle by making some wild claims about Davis and Mayweather’s daughter Yaya, which surely can’t be fun for most to hear.

However, for those of you thinking that this only relates to boxing, this actually isn’t Ryan Garcia’s first crossover with hip-hop -– far from it, in fact. For example, he dissed 21 Savage for walking Devin Haney out, which is kind of ironic considering that Garcia wanted Kanye West to walk him out for this fight. Imagine if Haney then dissed Ye for walking the loser out… That would’ve been a whole new beef in and of itself.

Meanwhile, it’s clear that a lot of Garcia’s antics are just self-admitted trolling, but tactics that he knows how to use relatively well. After all, few competitive tactics are as easy to use, but difficult to master as getting in your opponent’s head. 50 Cent hopped back into the Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis beef, and although he seemingly deleted his posts on the matter, ink dries in milliseconds in the social media age. Moreover, he had previously seemed to legitimately express concern over Davis’ claim that Mayweather was being held in Dubai for owing the wrong people money. Now, it seems like the G-Unit mogul is ready to see a battle between these two after the former threatened to knock the latter out amid their tensions. “Ahh Champ [Gervonta] gonna f**k you up champ, I think you should only text him. Tank sharp right now might knock you right the f**k out!” he captioned an Instagram repost of Davis’ threat.

Furthermore, for those unaware, Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis are the subject of 50 Cent’s fascination right now due to a spat that broke out between them over social media. This resulted from comments that the former made about other boxers faking the lavish lifestyle they aim to live and not really having things in order nor understanding the sacrifices to get to that point. Davis thought that his former mentor aimed some of these comments at him, and then made the Dubai claims. Not only do they have a history together of friends turned enemies, but so do Mayweather and Fif.

50 Cent’s Latest Troll Of Frenemy Floyd Mayweather Versus Gervonta Davis

Then, the conflict kept escalating online with pot shots from one to the other. Since many of these tweets and posts from Floyd Mayweather, Gervonta Davis, and 50 Cent have been deleted, it’s unclear where things stand now. Maybe they were able to reach some sort of agreement behind closed doors or coincidentally agreed that it wasn’t worth keeping that negativity online. For now, it’s a hard call to make.

Meanwhile, even other boxers like Ryan Garcia chose to jump into this feud, so who knows what could happen next? All we know is that there’s a lot of history here, and this might not be something that a fight or a sit-down conversation could resolve. Tank Dell Wounded In Nightclub Mass Shooting

Tank Dell suffered a “minor wound” during a shooting in Sanford, Florida at Cabana Live early Sunday morning. The Houston Texans confirmed later in the day that the star wide receiver was shot by a teenage gunman who opened fire after an altercation. The shooter wounded 10 people during the incident. Dell made it out okay and has since left the hospital and is traveling back to Houston.

“[Dell] has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits,” the Texans said in a statement on social media. “We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate but ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.” No one in the shooting sustained life-threatening injuries.

ESPN reports that witnesses say someone pulled out a handgun and began firing toward a crowd of people after a fistfight broke out. A nearby security guard lunged at the shooter and disarmed him. Police have reportedly arrested a 16-year-old suspect whom they’ve taken to a juvenile detention center. They’re charging him with attempted homicide, firing a weapon in a public place, using a firearm during a felony, and illegal possession of a firearm by a minor.

Dell is coming off of a stellar rookie campaign in which he recorded 709 yards and seven touchdowns before suffering a broken leg during a game against the Denver Broncos in early December. A fan of Drake trolled Metro Boomin by shouting some of the lyrics to the Toronto rapper’s diss track,
“Push Ups,” at one of the producer’s recent concerts. In a clip circulating on social media, an attendee to the show shouts out, “Metro, shut your ho ass up and play some drums.” In response, Metro remarks, “I heard that,” prompting celebration from the fan.

When Kurrco shared the clip on Twitter, many users found the move to be corny. “Goes from hating to celebrating like a child,” one fan wrote. Another added: “Grown man was jumping up and down and giggling after shouting.” Others praised Metro for having some fun with the moment.

Metro started feuding with Drake by releasing the track, “Like That,” on which Kendrick Lamar targets his former collaborator. PARTYNEXTDOOR Is “4” The Fans On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

HNHH‘s R&B Season playlist is back to round up the best releases from the various styles adjacent to the genre that came out this week, and there’s a big one to speak on right away. Moreover, PARTYNEXTDOOR finally delivered on all the hype and dropped his long-awaited fourth studio album PARTYNEXTDOOR 4 (P4). Not only does the Toronto artist deliver plenty of his trademark style on this full-length, but he also taps into sounds that he’s not immediately associated with, such as the breezy African-inspired rhythms on “F o r C e r t a i n.” If you want that classic PND sound, though, look no further than cuts like “N o C h i l l,” and you’ll be right back in that zone again.

Elsewhere on R&B Season, we have another sultry and minimal single from Normani titled “1:59,” and it features none other than Gunna for a pretty interesting crossover. Through some simple guitar licks, building vocal harmonies, stark percussion, and atmospheric effects, it’s able to keep things woozy while still having a solid melodic center. As for the College Park MC, his voice actually goes even harder than his collaborator on this cut when it comes to the passion and the strain in his voice. It’s a nice zone to see him in, especially for those looking for him to at least try to switch it up.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

However, if you’re looking for more of that Afro-soul sound, there’s another highlight on R&B Season this week. Tems came through with an interpolation of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 classic “Love Me JeJe,” which is as wondrous and welcoming as it is loosely chilled-out. Across much of the Nigerian singer’s catalog, a lot of her strengths owe themselves to her strong vocal chops, charismatic performances, and her ability to build out a tune. Needless to say, these are all elements that keep on giving.

Finally, we wanted to shout out the tender, bubbly, and crisp collab between Chenayder and MAVI, “Colors.” This is easily among the jazziest and most head-bobbing picks this week thanks to a warm vocal performance from the former and a killer verse from the latter.
