Chip Proves He Has No Beef With Central Cee On “C Freestyle”

Last week, Central Cee dropped “CC Freestyle,” spitting fiery bars over Flukes’ classic grime instrumental. Only a few days later, his fellow British rapper Chip took to social media to tease his own new song, “C Freestyle.” Fans were quick to notice similarities between their titles, and the fact that they used the same beat, prompting them to speculate. “Ask anybody born after ‘95 who made them wanna jump on grime they tell you it’s me,” Chip rapped in a short snippet, captioning it, “IT CAN GET GRIMEY.”

Almost immediately, listeners began to suspect that Chip might diss Central Cee, egging him on in his comments section. “Central Cee count your days my guy,” one X user wrote. “Need to see Chip put Central Cee in his place,” another said.

Chip Unleashes New Track Amid Central Cee Beef Rumors

Just before dropping the song, however, Chip proved the rumors to be false. He shared a photo of him and Central Cee to promote the song, making it clear that there’s no bad blood. At the time, Central Cee left a heart emoji in his comments section. Upon the release, he put the rumors to rest once and for all, giving Central Cee his flowers and clarifying that he actually finds his success inspiring. “I ain’t one of them olders hating, I tell Central that I rate him,” he rhymes. “His progression’s motivating.” Cench is even featured in the track’s accompanying music video, which Chip shared a snippet of on Instagram yesterday. “THAT’S 3 C’S UP CC,” he captioned the clip. “@CENTRALCEE BATTERED THIS BEAT HAD TO TAG IN.”

So far, listeners are loving “C Freestyle,” and many are glad that he opted to team up with Central Cee instead of dissing him. What do you think of Chip’s new track? What about him shutting down rumors that he has beef with Central Cee? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Chance The Rapper & DJ Premier Reminisce On New Single “Together”

Chance the Rapper is on the comeback trail. He wisely stepped away from music following the horrible reception to The Big Day, but he’s back and he appears reenergized. There’s an emphasis on lyricism and musicality that was really lacking on his studio debut, and fans are hopeful he can get back to his Acid Rap prime. “Buried Alive” was the first teaser we heard, but now Chano has dropped off an official music video for his new single “Together.”

For starters, the production is much better than whatever was happening on The Big Day. Chance got a classic DJ Premier beat, complete with soulful vocal chops and stuttering piano keys. It evokes the same kind of nostalgia that Chance harnessed so effectively on the aforementioned Acip Rap. That being said, it does mark a distinct musical change.

Gone are the bombastic horns and gospel breakdowns, and in its place is something quieter and more contemplative. It’s the sort of beat Common would have rapped on circa Like Water for Chocolate. The comparison feels especially apt, given that Com was another Chicago legend who worked with Preemo.

Chance The Rapper Sounds Great On A Preemo Beat

“Together” also thrives on Chano’s improved pen game. The rapper dropped the preachiness that soured millions of fans and strips it down, focusing on his life as a child. “If you keep the house in the family, you can keep the family in the house,” he raps. “We used to watch ‘Annie, are you okay’ on the couch. My cousin used to slam me til I punched him in the mouth.” The video is perfectly suited to the material, as it’s made up of old video footage cobbled together from family parties.

Chance the Rapper isn’t breaking the mold with this song, but he’s proving that he’s back to making good music again, and that’s ultimately more important.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new music video for “Together” by Chance the Rapper and DJ Premier? Is this the best song Chance has put out in years? Does he fit over Preemo production? Does the song get you excited for his comeback mixtape? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Ray J & Sukihana Drop Spacey Strip Club Anthem “THROWING STACKS”

Ray J and Sukihana have been connected to each other for the last month or two as both artists are rumored to be a couple. Ever since the veteran’s tumultuous relationship with Princess Love came to a close, the Mississippi native has been exploring his options. Sukihana has also not been committed to anyone for about two years. So, with the two on the dating market and their recent hang outs well documented, there is a chance that they could be a pair. These rumors have also been discussed frequently because of a project they are working on. Ray J and Suki are developing a Tronix Music short film titled Hangover 69.

To help promote it, the duo also hinted a track accompanying it called “THROWING STACKS.” Well, that offering is now here, and it is raunchy, if that was not going to be obvious already. Anything Sukihana hops on is almost always going to be something vulgar and that is the case here. “THROWING STACKS” is a certified stripper’s anthem, especially with thumping bass, finger snaps, and spacey atmosphere.

Listen To “THROWING STACKS” By Ray J & Sukihana

Sukihana raps in great detail about her usual topics, but in a softer tone with loads of auto-tune. While it is not as memorable or unhinged, it does fit the vibe of the song. Ray J also puts forth a fine performance, but overall, it is nothing special. Still, give the track a spin with the links above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “THROWING STACKS” by Ray J and Sukihana? Is this one of his stronger releases as of late, why or why not? Do you think that this is a hint that him and the Delaware rapper are officially a fling? Would you want to hear them collaborate again in the future? Bobby Shmurda Works With Newcomer Eli For R&B Cut “On Something”

There were so many people on the Bobby Shmurda hype train back in the mid 2010s. A great deal of hip-hop fans were infatuated with arguably his two best tracks “Hot N****” and “Bobby B****.” However, all of that excitement for the Miami, Florida native went out the window in a hurry after his infamous prison sentence. He was handcuffed for weapons and conspiracy charges for the longest seven years and his return was a bright spot for the genre in 2021. Since being reinstated into society, the 29-year-old rapper has released two full-length projects and a bevy of singles. However, he has not been able to recapture that magic for about 10 years now.

It is clear that Bobby Shmurda is still struggling with songs like “On Something” coming down the pipeline. This is his fifth feature of the year, as he joins a new face to the R&B space, who goes by Eli. In fact, this is the latter’s first-ever release on streaming platforms. It is evident as well because this is perhaps one of the most forgettable songs we have heard all year.

Listen To “On Something” By Bobby Shmurda & Eli

Eli has a painfully boring and generic auto-tuned singing voice that sounds outdated. It is especially unbearable when he goes into his upper register. As for Bobby, his flow is equally boring and sleepy. Unfortunately, there are just no redeeming qualities to this track.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “On Something” by Eli and Bobby Shmurda? Is this one of his stronger features as of late, why or why not? Do you think Eli has what it takes to make it in music? Would you want to hear them collaborate again in the future? Matt OX Tackles A Video Game-Like Beat On “MONDAY TO SUNDAY”

Ever since Matt OX exploded after his viral hit “Overwhelming” back in 2017, the youngster from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has garnered a cult following. For the last few years, he has been doing most of his work in the underground scene. His slightly unique style caught the attention of some of his contemporaries and bigger stars like Chief Keef, XXXTENTACION, Lil Gnar, and more. Also helping his following and co-signs is his production level. Still at just the ripe age of 19, he has built up quite the beefy catalog and recently he had has added to it. That is right, Matt OX is back yet again with a new single called “MONDAY TO SUNDAY.”

This is already his 11th release in total, and it follows up on five April singles. Those include “DARK MATTER,” “CHOPZ,” “OPEN YOUR EYES,” “PSYCHO BOUT THAT DOUGH,” and “SLEEPLESS NIGHTS.” This seventh track where he is the lead act suggests that he could be close to a new project. If that turns out to be the case, Matt OX will have his first LP since his 2023 tapes TEENRAGE and OXygen.

On “MONDAY TO SUNDAY” the main draw here is the beat. It has this vintage video game-like sample woven into the trap instrumental and it is quite fun. Additionally, the high-pitch synths add a nice extra layer. However, that is about where we can stop with the compliments. Matt’s flow and delivery are quite forgettable and a little harsh to listen to. Fans in the Reddit thread seem to agree. One user says bluntly, “This is awful.” Another is not a fan, but he can at least appreciate the effort. “Song is no good but it’s cool that Matt Ox is still trying to make it as a rapper 6+ years after his viral moment.” We want to hear your thoughts, so give “MONDAY TO SUNDAY” a try above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “MONDAY TO SUNDAY” by Matt OX? Is this one of his stronger releases as of late, why or why not? YTB Fatt Taps Rylo Rodriguez For The Moody & Melodic “In The Air”

YTB Fatt for the last year and change has been putting in the work to separate himself from the crowded Memphis rap scene. His cadence is a fairly unique twist on the husky and intimidating deliveries we are accustomed to from the city. Additionally, he possesses a solid ear for instrumentals, as shown with his single “Brazi Blue Cheese” back in March. He usually goes for extremely dark and murderous tones that are synonymous with the current trap scene. Fatt especially has a fondness for beats that include heavy piano keys, but on his latest single, he is going for a slightly different approach.

On “In The Air,” YTB Fatt opts for the traditional Southern hip-hop sound, while throwing in a looping guitar riff that weaves in and out. His close collaborator, klutchfrenchie, is credited once again as the producer this time around. However, YTB is teaming up with a new face as well for this single as well. This time, the up-and-coming star is hitting the booth with Alabama MC, Rylo Rodriguez.

His one-of-a-kind cadence adds some extra emotion to the already moody and melodic cut, so he was a perfect get for this one. “In The Air” supersedes a plethora of singles from YTB. 2024 looks to be another loaded year, as this comes after “I Luv U,” “Brazi Blue Cheese,” “Same,” “Backstabbin,” and “One Mo.” Not to mention, he has been active with his feature output too, linking with OT7 Quanny and DeeBaby, for example. Be sure to check out this new cut with the link above.

Gunna Shows Us That He’s Always Making Moves In Music Video For “Whatsapp (Wassam)”

Gunna’s new album One of Wun has been receiving some fairly positive reviews from fans and critics since its release this past weekend. The main issue that people are having with the project so far is that it is a tad too long. While we can agree that there is some filler on this album, it also has its fair share of highlights as well. One of those tracks that we feel Gunna put forth some solid effort into is “whatsapp (wassam),” which now has an accompanying music video. This track was one of two promotional singles while also being the most recent. It dropped a week before the LP and followed up “prada dem” with Offset.

One quality that Gunna is known for is his ability to bring a speedy and melodic flow. This track definitely highlights that quality to a tee, especially on the catchy chorus. On “whatsapp (wassam)” Gunna boasts and brags about his ability to make significant amounts of money through various avenues. The music video, directed by Spike Jordan, accentuates that, as it shows Gunna taking various calls via the Whatsapp platform.

Watch “Whatsapp (Wassam)” Music Video

It is a simple, yet effective video that has a cool shot of the all the calls he takes in one frame. The lyrics in this song also have validity, especially because Gunna is in the process of creating a clothing brand. There is a possibility that the entity will be called “P” based on some billboards seen by Complex. “P by Gunna. June 5, 2024,” it read over the Georgia rapper sporting a blue, white, and black jacket with a matching beanie hat. However, the campaign has been off to a rocky start, as an artist has claimed that Gunna copied his logo.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new music video for “whatsapp (wassam)” by Gunna? Is this the best track from his new album One of Wun, why or why not? Where do you rank this project amongst the rest of his catalog? Is this his most creative set of visuals ever? ASAP Ferg’s Name Change Has Fans Theorizing That He Left ASAP Mob

ASAP Ferg is the second-biggest member of ASAP Mob. Rocky will always be the biggest, since he broke through first, but Ferg proved that the crew had staying power. He’s been the most consistent member of ASAP Mob in terms of output and guest appearances. At least, he was. The rapper recently put out a new single, “MDMX,” and fans have noticed that he’s credited as “Ferg” and not “ASAP Ferg.” This has sparked a tidal wave of speculation that he’s left the crew for good.

The name change comes after years of struggle between Ferg and ASAP Mob. In 2020, various crew members implied that the rapper was no longer a member. ASAP Nast clarified this point on X (formerly Twitter), however, by stating that Ferg was very much involved with their musical output. He put out his next album, Floor Seats II, under the name ASAP Ferg, so everything seemed to be fine.

Ferg has been relatively quiet on the music front during the last couple years, which is what makes the name change so jarring. This is the first time Ferg has been officially credited without the “ASAP” prefix. A casual fan would be able to infer that this is a significant change.

Ferg Insists He Still A Part Of ASAP Mob

Significant, but not as damning as it may appear. Ferg actually announced that he would be shortening his name back in October 2021. He issued a statement through Roc Nation, clarifying his plan and letting fans know that the name change does not reflect turmoil with ASAP Mob. “Ferg is very much still part of the Mob, and is A$AP Ferg within A$AP Mob,” the statement read. “Ferg as an individual artist and with his solo career is Ferg.”

Ferg’s actions since making the announcement have supported this. He reunited with ASAP Rocky to preview a snippet of an unreleased song on Instagram. Fans are hoping he shows up on Rocky’s new album, Don’t Be Dumb. ASAP Ferg also told High Snobiety that he could never envision a time in which he wasn’t involved with the Mob. “I don’t think there’s no breaking up of the Mob,” he explained. “It’s like, once you’re in the Mob, you can’t get out. This is blood in, blood out… You can never get out of the mob. So that’s not even a thing.”

Chief Keef & Quavo Aren’t Playing Around On “Never Fly Here”

Chief Keef fans were able to take a huge sigh of relief after he finally came through and delivered Almighty So 2. It is the long-awaited follow-up to the first installment, which saw a release about 11 years ago. 2024 has been another busy one for the influential Chicago talent, as this tape also supersedes his March collaborative mixtape with a fellow legend, Mike WiLL Made-It. With both projects out, some are saying DIRTY NACHOS was better than Almighty So 2. For us, we are just enjoying the ride and appreciating what Chief Keef brought, especially with songs like “Never Fly Here.”

This one of just a handful of cuts that possessed a feature or two. However, this one may have the biggest guest of them all, which is Quavo. Not only is it just because a former Migos member is on the track, it is also because this is their first joint effort ever. It might be a hard thing to realize, especially with how long each rapper has been in the game, and that they came up at the same time.

Listen To “Never Fly Here” By Chief Keef & Quavo

Like this mixtape, this collaboration on “Never Fly Here” was well worth the wait. Fans have been taking a liking toward this trap banger numbers wise, but also in terms of quality. This track has one of the stronger instrumentals on the record, especially when the sped-up piano make an entrance. Keef and Quavo display solid chemistry and trade some funny and sticky bars to boot.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “” by Chief Keef? Is this the best track from his new mixtape Almighty So 2, why or why not? Big Hit & The Alchemist Go Bar For Bar On Hit-Boy-Assisted “Black & Whites”

Just last week iconic producers The Alchemist and Hit-Boy, as well as the latter’s father, Big Hit, announced that they would be dropping album. They did so in hilarious fashion, recreating a memorable scene from the 1990s comedy film Office Space. The album trailer got a lot of clicks on YouTube and for good reason. This has the potential to be one of the best LPs from 2024 when it is all set and done.

Just 24 hours after the reveal on May 6, the trio put forth the lead single called “Foreclosure.” The grim production from Hit-Boy and Uncle Al, coupled with Hit’s mean-mugging flow, were a real treat. While it was great to get our first taste of the project, we were still left in the dark as to when we could expect the record. Well, with this second helping “Black & Whites,” which is the album name too, we now have that information at our disposal.

Listen To “Black & Whites” By Hit-Boy, Big Hit, & The Alchemist

Fans can expect this album on May 30, so about two and a half weeks from now. “Black & Whites” could possibly be the last offering before the full listen and we kind of hope it is. We do not want the experience to be spoiled because we heard all the greatness beforehand. This title track is also enjoyable because it sees Uncle Al hop in the recording booth to drop some witty bars. Hit-Boy handles the instrumental solo this time and it is extremely delicate and dreamy, allowing the bars do all the talking.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Black & Whites” by Big-Hit, Big Hit, and The Alchemist? Is this the strongest single from Black & Whites, why or why not? Who had the better rapping performance? Do you think this should be the last promotional track for the album?
