Yung Miami Slams DJ Akademiks In Upcoming Solo Track

It’s not a secret that Yung Miami and DJ Akademiks have had their differences. In the past, the City Girl has fallen victim to the internet personality’s harsh criticism on numerous occasions. Ultimately, this has prompted a notably messy feud. He’s accused her of lacking talent outside of “pimping men,” perpetuating homophobia, and more. He even called her out for failing to speak up amid her flame Diddy’s sexual assault allegations.

Now, Yung Miami has decided to fire back in the best way possible, roasting him on a new track. She took to social media recently to share a preview of the upcoming banger, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come. “Akademiks, you a b*tch, why you speaking on women?” she spits. The song remains nameless for now, but fans can’t wait to hear it in full regardless.

Yung Miami Teases New Music

Yung Miami is embarking on this latest endeavor by herself, momentarily parting ways with her partner in rhyme, JT. She’s been teasing a solo project for some time now, and listeners are glad to learn that it’s on its way. JT recently previewed an upcoming solo track of her own to follow “No Bars,” which supporters are also eager to hear.

DJ Akademiks has yet to respond to the circulating snippet of Yung Miami calling him a “b*tch,” however, it’s safe to say that he won’t be thrilled. After all, the last time he got into it with the Florida native her bestie Saucy Santana got involved, resulting in a heated and emotional back and forth. With that being said, it’s only a matter of time before he weighs in on this latest jab. What do you think of Yung Miami dissing DJ Akademiks on her new track? How does it sound so far? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Kenny Mason & Paris Texas Take Little Bank On New Single “Big Bank” With Billy Lemos: Stream

When you think about the best names in alternative rap right now, Paris Texas and Kenny Mason likely top that list. Moreover, they’ve released idiosyncratic, zany, confident, and aggressive projects, singles, and visual efforts that display their versatility and tendency to merge worlds of alt-rock, grunge, and indie with fiery verses. If you want examples, look no further than the former’s 2023 album, MID AIR, and the Atlanta native’s recent extended single, “FACTS.” However, they have a new collaboration together titled “Big Bank,” which Iowa creative Billy Lemos produced. As such, let this be your intro if you’ve never heard of them before… and if you have, you probably already bumped this.

Furthermore, you might already know that this is a single for Pigeons & Planes‘ upcoming See You Next Year 2. This will be their second compilation album partnered with Big A** Kids, distributed by ADA, that will also feature Monte Booker, AG Club, ICECOLDBISHOP, and many more. But back to “Big Bank”: the driving, synthetic drum beat leads the way for soaring synth pads, and for charismatic, slightly subdued, but nonetheless energized performances. Kenny Mason switches between various cadences and flows here, whereas Paris Texas’ Louie Pastel and Felix flow with ease with some witty bars sprinkled in. They’ve definitely come a long way since “Cyanide,” and 2024 will only hold greater things.

Meanwhile, following 2023’s HIGHWAY 9 EP and assisting Denzel Curry on “SKED,” Kenny Mason is also going to excel this year, no doubt. It’s exciting to see artists like him, Paris Texas, and Billy Lemos take many different approaches to these genre blends, especially when these styles have been around for so long. Hopefully there’s more material just like this on See You Next Year 2, and we see these stars rise to the heights they’re capable of overcoming. If you haven’t heard “Big Bank” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and peep some standout bars below. Also, for more great music releases around the clock, check back in with HNHH.

Kid Cudi & Young Thug Are The “RAGER BOYZ” On “INSANO” Album Cut: Stream

Kid Cudi’s long-awaited album INSANO is finally here, and there are lots of woozy bangers, psychedelic jams, and dreamy croons to take note of. Another killer part of this album are the featured guests, including Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, and more. However, perhaps none shine brighter than Young Thug on the track “RAGER BOYZ,” as the two creatives show off ridiculous vocal chemistry and their ability to pair an instrumental so well with their vocal performances. It’s a guitar-led, low-key, melodic, and subtle trap cut about hopelessness, chaos, and struggle in the world, one whose catchiness and atmosphere doesn’t sully its message.

A big part of that is the news item on “RAGER BOYZ,” as Thugger seemingly addressed his YSL RICO case on this verse. Of course, that’s quite unlikely given how difficult it must’ve been to record a new verse from behind bars. In reality, it’s probably just a coincidence that rings eerily true today as we await what else will happen in the turbulent and confusing court battle. Elsewhere, though, Kid Cudi also comes through with some despondent bars, although his perseverance to fight back against it is the main takeaway. Also, this may seem insignificant in the grand scheme of the song, but it’s always great when a producer (Cudder, Anthony Kilhoffer, Dot Da Genius, THATS NOT IT, and Jean Baptiste, in this case) changes the timbre of certain drum patterns to switch up the beat.

Meanwhile, folks are still dissecting INSANO‘s content, lyrical references, and flow. Whether it’s the sample of an old XXXTENTACION track or Rocky’s apparent response to Drake’s alleged disses against him and Rihanna, there’s plenty to chew on here. But don’t let “RAGER BOYZ” fall under that radar. If you haven’t heard it or the album yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and peep some standout bars below. Kali Uchis And Peso Pluma Sing Beautifully About A Strong Woman On “Igual Que Un Angel”

Kali Uchis’ star is always shining bright when she comes through with a new album. Her presence might be stronger than ever before on her fifth tape ORQUÍDEAS (ORCHIDS). It comes off the heels of her 2023 release Red Moon In Venus which featured the viral hit “Moonlight.” This new record that stands before us brings tons of diversity as we have come to expect from Kali.

The album is blowing up online already in just its second day being out. One of the reasons why is because of the collaboration with Peso Pluma on “Igual Que Un Angel” (“Just Like An Angel”). Believe it or not, this marks their first-ever collaboration. After hearing it, though, we are going to need more.

Doja Cat, Kodak Black, And Adekunle Gold Bring High-Level Performances On Jeymes Samuel-Produced “JEEZU”

The Book of Clarence film and soundtrack produced by British multi-talent Jeymes Samuel are in full effect. The music is being talked about a lot in particular. That is thanks in large part to JAY-Z’s contributions. He and Roc Nation were catalysts in bringing both pieces of art to fruition and they are delivering in a big way. Again, the music is getting a lot of praise, especially the Doja Cat, Kodak Black, and Adekunle Gold track “JEEZU.”

Since the movie focuses on religious themes, so too does the music. Adekunle brings booming vocals right from the jump. The production from Jeymes is epic and soulful with woodwind and organ elements, as well as nicely-placed gunshots. Kodak surprises with great lyricism and honesty about his life. Then, Doja Cat comes in with a hungry attitude.

Her rapping has vastly improved since the release of her controversial Scarlet LP. She is in peak form right now, “Cats dogmatic ’til they see I got the dog in me /
Oh, you mad now? Oh, you hurtin’, shawty need a signature
.” That is just one of the fantastic lines in her verse. Doja is proving again and again that she is a top-flight MC in the current state of hip-hop regardless of how you feel about her.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “JEEZU,” by Doja Cat, Kodak Black, Adekunle Gold, and Jeymes Samuel? Jhené Aiko Reminds How Stunning Her Voice Is On “Sun/Son”

Jhené Aiko is an artist who takes time in between each release. It is a double-edged sword because she is ultra-talented and we always want to hear her more often. The 35-year-old soulful balladeer has not dropped a full-length in nearly four years. Her last effort was Chilombo, a project that featured the likes of H.E.R., Ab-Soul, Nas, Ty Dolla $ign, and more.

Even on the single front, Jhené has remained fairly quiet. The last release came in May with “alive & well (gratitude).” Then, about a month and a half before that was “calm & patient.” Hopefully, those two outputs last year are signs of a project coming in 2024. We say that because Jhené is back to start of the year with a bang.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Sun/Son” by Jhené Aiko? Is this the best track she has come out with in the past couple of years, why or why not? Do you think an album is coming soon? 21 Savage And Travis Scott Bring Ridiculous Energy To Metro Boomin’s Beat On “Née-nah”

21 Savage has plenty to be proud of right now. That is mainly because he might have just come through with his strongest LP to date, american dream. Originally, it was thought of as a soundtrack to his upcoming biopic American Dream: The 21 Savage Story. For those who are wondering, that will drop on Independence Day. But, this project is his third solo studio album, so it is separate from the motion picture.

The tracklist is great from beginning to end and never fails to entertain you. One of the songs that perhaps brings the most energy is “née-nah.” Produced by 21’s most frequent producer, Metro Boomin, and maybe his best collaborator, Travis Scott, there is so much to like here. The great sample flip of Maclom McLaren’s “About Her” is a perfect compliment to the booming beat.

On the performance side, Travis opens things up with a very contagious flow without any auto-tune. His raspy and husky voice adds the right amount of grittiness. 21 cleans up the second half beautifully with his trademark violent lyricism. After hearing another fantastic collaboration from them, this requires a full album from them. “Niagara Falls,” “out for the night, (part 2),” “Ghostface Killers,” the list continues with “née-nah.”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “née-nah” by 21 Savage, Travis Scott, and Metro Boomin? Is this the best track from american dream, why or why not? Where does this rank amongst the rest of the features from the record? Would you say this is 21 and Travis’ strongest collaboration? Who had the better verse and why? Nicki Minaj Recruits Future Again For “Pink Friday 2” LP With Deluxe Banger “Press Play”

The Barbz are continuing to feast. Legendary Trinidadian rapper and singer Nicki Minaj is bringing a new edition of her momentous return album, Pink Friday 2. It had been a little over five years since the 41-year-old phenom’s last project Queen. It is safe to say that Nicki is making up for lost time by bringing extra material, but we are not complaining. Today marks the release of the Pink Friday 2 (Gag City PLUTO Edition).

It follows the Gag City Deluxe which added a 50 Cent version of “Beep Beep” and “Love Me Enough” featuring Monica and Keyshia Cole. PLUTO is a reference to Future’s nickname and he marks his second appearance with “Press Play.” It is the lone addition to this latest expanded edition and it is a straight banger. Also making a return to Nicki’s project is producer ATL Jacob.

He continues to make his mark with big-time nod after big-time nod. Jacob brings sped-up piano keys to his familiar glitchy and bassy trap beats. The piano has a similar sound to Pooh Shiesty’s “Back in Blood.” Future brings a repetitive but catchy hook and Nicki has some witty one-liners as per usual.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Press Play,” by Nicki Minaj and Future? Is this the best deluxe track from any extended Pink Friday 2, why or why not? Lil Tjay “Told Ya” He Would Make It One Day On New Single

There are rappers who like to push their boundaries and others who like to stay in the familiar lane. Both approaches have their pros and cons, that is obvious. If an artist likes to continue to build on their existing sound and improve on it, that is more than respectable. However, some can come across content, and for listeners that can get stale. Lil Tjay is a talented guy, no doubt about it.

But, this new single “Told Ya” feels too familiar. The message and lyrics are solid as usual. On the production side, it sounds agreeable. However, it is something you will hear in a lot of rap songs today. Again, it is not bad by any means. It is just okay at the end of the day for us.

Pusha T, Lola Brooke, Capella Grey, Flau’jae, and Wyclef Jean have all come togehter for an interesting single. The TIAA (Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America) is looking to spread the word about preparing for a financially safe future. According to a piece from HipHopDX, they want to spread information about their “Retire Inequality” initiative. Information from their website is quite staggering.

“54% of Black Americans don’t have enough savings to retire.” The way the TIAA plans on doing this is by helping the younger generation learn how to start building wealth sooner rather than later. The reason for this methodology is that “41% of young adults between 24-35 aren’t taking full advantage of employer-sponsored plans.” So, to help pass this message along, the TIAA reached out Wyclef Jean to make song.
