Jim Jones Responds To Pusha T Diss On New Song “Summer Collection”

The beef between Pusha T and Jim Jones just kicked into full gear with its first official diss track. Sure, there was Push’s original shots, but those were more like obvious subliminals given the context than anything else. Now, the Dipset member released “Summer Collection” in response for a “From The Block Performance.” In it, he uses the exact same beat that the Virginia native used in his teased disses towards the New York MC on an unreleased Clipse collab with No Malice. Not only that, but he responds to a few of the points that Pusha made on those bars, and comes through with some more aggressive material.

For example, there’s him urging Pusha T to not doubt his VVS diamonds, and him not caring about any of the former G.O.O.D. Music president’s luxury purchases or flamboyant style. Also, he trashed his artistry is catalog, referencing his album My Name Is My Name but saying “we ain’t screaming that.” Another example of that was Jim Jones stating that Push is only a “gorilla” because of all the “apes” that he features on his albums. He didn’t really clarify whether he depends on his features or picks small names, but either way works, right?

Jim Jones’ Diss Track Towards Pusha T

However, perhaps the nail in the coffin out of all of his bars were instead directed at his brother No Malice. Furthermore, Jones said that he’s not looking too good right now, and that he shouldn’t bother with a Clipse reunion. Considering how deep Pusha T went at Drake after the latter mentioned the former’s fiancée, this can’t spell out good news for the 46-year-old. Regardless, let us know what you think about this diss (which you can find on YouTube) and how it compares to Push’s in the comments. Read some standout bars below and stick around on HNHH for more on Jim Jones and Pusha T.

Quotable Lyrics
The only beef you know, n***a, is Arby’s or the Big Mac
We don’t drive through, we drive by in the car with the big MAC
The last s**t you dropped, that s**t was garbage, take that s**t back
Plus you got your brother rappin’, what you tryna bring the Clipse back?
Talk about your brother, what happened to that boy?
He’s looking like they’ve been selling crack to that boy

Jim Jones Responds To Pusha T In New Diss Track

Jim Jones fired back at Pusha T in a new diss track released on Saturday night. The Clipse rapper had called him out in a song that debuted at Pharrell’s first Louis Vuitton show, earlier this week. A preview of Jones’ response originally found its way online, Friday, showcasing lyrics suggesting that Pusha T sells crack to his older sibling and Clipse partner, No Malice.

In the full song, Jones goes even further, targeting Pusha’s fashion sense, calling him overrated, and more. “That shit was trash we gonna let them get a do over/They got you gassed, they must think you’re the new Hova/You a 4.0, n***a, I jumped in the new rover/Your brother still jumping on the bed, tell him ‘Move over,’” Jones raps at one point, as noted by Complex.

In another section, he adds: “You be dressing kinda weird man you really need a stylist/Plus we all know what you identify with/Plus you kinda, sorta dress, n***a, you been a fly bitch/And then he said I was trying to chase a feature/N***a’s a gorilla cause he got some apes in his features/All my gorillas got stones, I’ll have these apes come and meet you.”

In Pusha T’s initial diss, he accused Jim Jones of attaching himself to Drake in order to stay relevant. He rapped: “You think it’d be valor amongst veterans/ I’m watching your fame escape relevance/ We all in a room but here’s the elephant/ You chasing a feature out of your element.”

Jim Jones Responds To Pusha T

The beef between Jones and Pusha T kicked off when the Dipset rapper argued that Pusha isn’t a top 50 rapper. He discussed his reasoning on The RapCaviar Podcast back in April. Jones once again referenced the ranking on Instagram while reacting to Pusha’s diss track. “That was not a top 50 verse,” he said. “Not at all. Still not in my top 50.”

He is shown in the video for “June 22nd” poking out of a sunroof, though there’s no gun to be seen. Pusha T Disses Jim Jones In New Clipse Song Debuted At Pharrell’s 1st Louis Vuitton Men’s Show

Pharrell Williams launched his first show as the Louis Vuitton Men’s Creative Director in Paris on Tuesday night. In doing so, he debuted a new song from Clipse in which Pusha T appears to diss Jim Jones.

“Beware of my name, that there’s delegate/ You know I know where you’re delicate/ Crush you to pieces, I’ll hum a breath of it/ I will close your heaven for the hell of it/ You think it’d be valor amongst veterans/ I’m watching your fame escape relevance/ We all in a room but here’s the elephant/ You chasing a feature out of your element,” Pusha raps. “And those lab diamonds under inspection/ The question marks block your blessings/ It’s no tombstones in the desert/ I know by now you get the message.”

The new song appears to be tentatively titled, “Chains ’n Whips,” as revealed in a New York Times profile with Pharrell from over the weekend. The animosity between Pusha T and Jim Jones began in April, when the Dipset rapper disagreed with Billboard for placing Pusha T at No. 29 on the outlet’s “Top 50 Greatest Rapper of All Time” list. At the time, Jones admitted that Pusha is “nice as shit” at rapping but questioned his impact.

“Nobody has dressed like him. Nobody wants to be like Pusha T. I don’t remember nothing. And let’s not be evil, but we don’t talk about rap where the n***a that’s popping the bitches wanna fuck and the n****s wanna be like,” he said. “I don’t know too many n****s in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T. Pusha T don’t hold no weight out here. He not pushing no shit out here.”

Clipse’s Song Plays During The Louis Vuitton Show

Jim Jones responded to “Chains ’n Whips” on his Instagram page a few hours later. “Let me know if they serious cause my name is my name #Capo,” he wrote, before adding on his Instagram Story: “Let me know when they really ready.”

Logic Plays With A New Sound On “Figure It Out”

Logic is an artist who has been around for over a decade at this point. Overall, during this span, he has gone through a ton of different eras. Unfortunately, not all of these eras have worked in his favor. For instance, there was a time when people felt like all he was doing was corny raps. Although, there were those who knew what he was capable of thanks to his earlier work. Lately, with albums like College Park, Logic has gotten back to showing people just how talented he really is.

Throughout the past few months, he has been dropping new tracks here and there, and for the most part, they have gone over well. Subsequently, Logic has been looking to drop more, much to the delight of his supporters. At midnight last night, the artist came through with a new song called “Figure It Out,” and it is a massive departure from what we have heard from Logic in the past. Instead of some fast bars and uptempo beats, we actually get an Indie Rock and R&B fusion.

Logic Tries Something New

Throughout this new track, we get some truly beautiful guitar work that immediately sets the tone. Subsequently, Logic comes in with some sung lyrics where he showcases just how great of a singer he can be. The music video is set in a snowy wooded area, which creates a larger feeling of melancholy. Moreover, the lyrics are pretty sad here as Logic talks about a relationship that feels to be slipping away further and further.

If you like this style of music, then this is absolutely a must-listen. Hopefully, we get more songs like this from Logic, very soon. Even a whole album of this could be a great idea. Let us know what you think of “Figure It Out,” in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

I thought you were the one for me

Gunna Floats On “a Gift & a Curse” Highlight “fukumean”

a Gift & a Curse has plenty of highlights, and it’s a tracklist that people will most likely be dissecting for the next few weeks. Moreover, a lot of this is owed to the reflections on betrayal, Gunna’s place in the game, and people speaking down on him laced throughout on tracks like, for example, “turned your back.” However, that’s not to say that the YSL affiliate doesn’t bring the bangers to the table, as well. One particular standout that people latched onto (if streaming numbers indicate anything) is “fukumean.” It’s a classic Wunna-style cut that sees the artist fall into a focused and fiery pocket.

As far as the College Park MC’s performance, his flow on here plays to his strengths, and it’s one he’s proven to rock with each song. Furthermore, his easy switch-ups between measured lines and faster rhymes make each stanza more enjoyable to experience. Lyrically, his focus is more hedonistic this time around: the fame, the money, the girls, and his unrivaled status in the streets and in the game. To be fair, if Gunna didn’t go deeper on these themes on other tracks, some lines here might seem tone-deaf considering the conversation around his snitching allegations. But regardless, he gives listeners a reason to perk their ears up with catchy vocalizations and a killer beat.

Gunna Asks “fukumean” On a Gift & a Curse

On that note, the production takes advantage of a quintessential Gunna combo: flute melodies with some lightly plucked strings and piano with some added group ad-libs that give the song its title. Ultimately, the deep bass hits, shifting hi-hat patterns, and sharp snare turn this peaceful sonic pallet into a heater. It’s a good thing that, despite all the focus on the 30-year-old’s more meaningful content, he reached a balance between the personal and the effortlessly listenable on this album. You can find a Gift & a Curse on your preferred streaming service and peep some notable lines down below. Also, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Gunna.

Quotable Lyrics
I let her run through a million, I rock with her really, let’s fuck on a billion
I’ma get down to the gritty, then fuck up the city, the home of the villains
Ecstasy, wonderful feelin’
Smoke out the pound when I’m chillin’
Trappin’, I made me a killin’
Look, I got everybody wishin’
