Playboi Carti just announced I AM MUSIC; that’s the most important thing you need to know right now about this news. Is it a new album, a clothing line, a new tour to account for his rescheduled dates, or something else entirely? Well, we don’t know for sure, but that doesn’t make this development any less exciting. After all, we usually only get radio silence on this matter, and official social media posts from him are far better than random leaks, assumptions, or other hints we usually get. What’s more is that even Pharrell Williams shared this news on his pages, so we have more reason than ever to believe that another Christmas drop for the Whole Lotta Red superstar might be upon us.

However, we don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves yet; we can’t forget that this is Playboi Carti we’re talking about. This has been a common cycle in the media for years now, only amplified by the longer we wait for it. For many fans out there, they probably won’t believe it until they see new material on their preferred streaming service, but we can’t ignore that there’s some hope here. With other bizarre social media activity from him, though– one that had some fans thinking that he got hacked– we should take this with a grain of salt.

Furthermore, the inclusion of Pharrell into this equation is very interesting considering Playboi Carti’s past releases. For example, for the aforementioned album WLR, he brought on Kanye West as its executive producer. As such, maybe the Neptunes legend will be the producer and fashion icon at the helm of this next project, or he’s just simply as excited as we are. Either way, it certainly adds fuel to the speculative fire, especially with his own talk about having a lot of new music on the way.

Meanwhile, given past reports on Carti’s album being called Music, this adds to the likelihood that this is an official album announcement. Is this going to sound like the cave he recorded in, or are we getting a completely new sound apart from the rage wave? Only time will tell, and we couldn’t be happier to find out. At this point, it is clear that she is the MVP of the year in hip-hop, even if some people aren’t believers just yet. That said, she is now working with the likes of Dominican rap star, Tokischa. The two just linked up on the song “Daddy.”

For those unfamiliar with Tokischa, she is an artist who has grown considerably over the years. Her music is fresh and has a great energetic sound to it. She has had crossover appeal with American stars, and this is yet another example of that. In the song “Daddy,” Tokischa raps in Spanish with some energetic flows over some phenomenal production. Her raps are clear and the bars fit the vibe of the song quite nicely.

As for Sexyy Red, this is another example of her showcasing her raw talent. The energy matches Tokischa and her verse is a whole lot of fun. KayCyy & Kaytranada Come Through With Gorgeous Sounds On “Not Over”

KayCyy is an artist who has been making big waves over the last few years. Overall, a lot of fans became privy to him thanks to the Donda recording sessions. The artist was in the room with Ye and was a writer on a few songs. He also sang the hook on “Keep My Spirit Alive” which was one of the more beautiful tracks on the album. He has since released his own projects, including TW 2052 which was made in collaboration with Gesaffelstein. It is clear that he is coming into his own, and fans continue to take notice.

Now, he is looking to drop even more music. KayCyy has been offering a steady stream of singles as of late, and now, he is back for more. However, this time around, he has linked up with Montreal producer Kaytranada. The new track is called “Not Over” and it features some incredible danceable production that is infectious upon first listen.

KayCyy’s vocals and melodies here are second to none. He does a great job maneuvering this production and it makes for an incredible track. Overall, Lil Gotit is an artist who has gone through quite a bit of hardship as of late. His mentor Young Thug is currently on trial in the YSL Rico case. Furthermore, his best friend Lil Keed passed away in what was a huge tragedy for the music industry. With that said, it can be easy to see why Lil Gotit has taken a while to release more music. It is not easy to overcome these challenges. Moreover, when your best friend and mentor are gone, it’s tough to find guidance and that will within yourself. However, Gotit has miraculously been able to keep it going.

Recently, the artist decided to come out and bless his fans with a brand-new single. The track is called “How I’m Posed To Live” and it is a definite banger. The song has some killer flows all the way throughout as we get some wavy trap production. Lil Gotit has that sound to his voice that is very reminiscent to Young Thug and the influence is palpable. However, he still manages to forge his sound.

Meek Mill Thinks He Topped “Dreams & Nightmares” With New Intro

Recently, Meek Mill took to Twitter to tease some upcoming music, which he claims might be some of his best work yet. The Philadelphia-born performer revealed that he’s laid down the intro for his next album, which he says will arrive before the full project. According to him, it might even top his critically acclaimed 2012 Dreams and Nightmares intro.

“I just laid a new intro,” he Tweeted yesterday (December 6). “I think it will top dreams and nightmares!!!! Nobody can tell me different but the streets! Ima drop it b4 my album!!!!” Outshining “Dreams and Nightmares” would obviously be quite the feat. Regardless, Meek Mill appears confident that he’s pulled it off.

The LP boasts various high-profile features from the likes of French Montana, Future, Fabolous, and more. The project didn’t move how listeners expected it would in its first week, however, resulting in some trolling online. Regardless, Meek Mill made it clear that he was unbothered by the reportedly low projections. “It’s says me and Ross on pace to sell 35k first week I would post if it said 350k,” he Tweeted. “I’m too nice and rich to be rapping in a control music environment that’s why we dropping music on Fridays it’s doesn’t make sense …. NBA YoungBoy Teases New Music On His Cat’s IG Account

Earlier this week, NBA YoungBoy took to social media to preview some upcoming music. He unveiled a snippet of a previously unheard track, providing listeners with a taste of what’s to come. Instead of using his own page to tease the song, however, he used his cat Neon’s account. He has a rocky relationship with the platform, coming and going periodically. For now, his personal page is deactivated, which might explain why fans heard the snippet from his furry friend.

“My daddy in this b*tch,” he captioned the menacing bars on Neon’s behalf. So far, most listeners are digging the passionate track, but have yet to hear an official release date. He requested for the terms of his house arrest to be relaxed earlier this week so that he can start working in outside recording studios, however. This suggests that he could have plans for a new project in the works.
