Boosie Badazz Says VladTV Pays Him $500k A Year

Earlier today, Boosie Badazz’s lengthy interview on The Breakfast Club made its way online. He discussed a variety of subjects, including his frequent appearances on VladTV. The discussion began with the question of Boosie starting a podcast, which he said he could only do if it made him a lot of money. When Charlamagne clarified that the type of money he wants doesn’t really exist in podcast, Boosie clarified that he was covered through other means.

“Well, I don’t want it. Because, yeah, I could make a half a million with Vlad every year, man. I don’t really need it if it ain’t gon’… Vlad help me out a lot more,” Boosie elaborated. He appears on Vlad TV quite often and frequently comes with revelations in ongoing drama, or new drama entirely. Charlamagne is surprised by the number and gives Boosie the chance to double down, asking him if he really makes that much. “Close to it,” the rapper replies. Check out the full interview below.

Boosie Badazz Shares His Vlad TV Payments

Last week, Boosie shared a post to Instagram explaining he has a new celebrity crush. While he’s notoriously a big fan of Rihanna, a chance encounter with someone else replaced her at the top of the list. He shared a series of pictures of himself with Chloe Bailey and in the caption officially declared that she’s his newest celeb crush. Some fans definitely found it a bit weird, given the pair’s age gap.

Boosie also gave his cosign to Sexyy Red. She took to Twitter to compare herself to the legend which some fans online took issue with. But Boosie himself felt pretty happy with the comparison. He said “I feel like she’s giving me my flowers” in a response to her original tweet. What do you think of Boosie’s claim that he makes $500k a year from Vlad TV interviews? Let us know in the comment section below.

Doja Cat Asked Her ‘Scarlet’ Alter Ego To ‘Sh*t On My Face’ And Shouted Out Satan In Her New Spoof Interview

Doja Cat’s Scarlet Tour left Uproxx’s Aaron Williams impressed with how Doja confronted “both the haters and the unhinged alter ego” named after her defiant Scarlet album. This morning (November 13), Doja Cat left nothing to the imagination when she dropped a six-minute spoof interview, which she teased over the weekend.

It starts with Doja Cat arriving on the set of a fake late-night television show hosted by her Scarlet alter ego. Within 45 seconds, Doja jokes to Scarlet, “I want you to sh*t on my face. I know that for a fact.” Somehow, it progressively gets even more unhinged.

Doja Cat discusses shaving her eyebrows and head, but clarifies, “I don’t shave my vagina.” Next up? The controversy surrounding Doja Cat losing “a little over a million followers” across social media, which Doja Cat blames on posting “a picture of Whoopi Goldberg’s nipples on Instagram.” That leads to a question about “what type of perks come with being in The Illuminati.”

Doja doesn’t flinch, saying, “Uh, free applesauce [and] chicken wings, but I haven’t seen any lizard guys in suits. […] I want to do goat sacrifices because that’s actually pretty spooky. Also, I’d love to give a shoutout to Satan.” Naturally, Scarlet asks whether Doja Cat ever indulges in worshipping Satan. After a quick belch, Doja says, “All the time. I give my demons free cheese.”

And we’re not even halfway home, guys. The second half of the spoof includes seemingly serious commentary from Doja Cat on how she’s evolved in her writing, but just when you think she’s being serious, she lets out a huge fart after saying, “I can express myself as me, and I have never been so comfortable.”

Cam’ron And Mase Thought DMX Was A Better Rapper Than Tupac And Here’s Why

Cam’ron and Mase recently appeared on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, where they were asked, “Who was better: DMX or Tupac?”

Despite seeing the bait for what it was, both Cam and Mase dove in with thoughtful answers as both agreed that DMX was better.

However, rather than being driven by East/West Coast rivalries or their personal feelings about either man, Cam said his decision was based on getting to see X’s come up personally. As he put it, “I got see… from when he was in the tenement rappin’ to sellin’ ten, twenty, however millions of records he sold.”

Meanwhile, Mase pointed to how whole arenas would recite DMX’s lyrics, noting, “I think a lot of times, because you learn the flaws of n****s, you forget how great n****s really were.” You can check out a clip of them talking about the debate below.

Ever since Cam and Mase squashed their long-running feud last year, the two Harlem natives have proven to be utterly captivating podcast partners, whether on their own show talking about NBA rumors, or as guests on other shows addressing their long and storied careers. It was Cam’ron who first broke the news that Mase had gotten his publishing from Diddy, and they’ve teased new music to come.

Tyler The Creator Rips Fans For Booing Drake At Camp Flog Gnaw Back In 2019

Tyler The Creator has a unique fanbase. Overall, this fanbase has taken a lot of flack over the years. Sometimes, this has been warranted and other times it is just a case of bullying. However, if one thing remains true, it is that there is a sour taste left in people’s mouths from what went down in 2019. For those who need a reminder, Tyler brought out Drake during Camp Flog Gnaw. Drizzy was the surprise guest and fans did not like it at all. They booed him incessantly and it was an embarrassing display.

Although Drake tried to play it cool afterward, many noted how rude it was for Tyler’s fans to do that. Even Tyler had some words for his fans back in 2019, saying “I thought bringing one of the biggest artist on the fucking planet to a music festival was fire… all jokes aside sh*t lowkey funny.” Over the weekend, Camp Flog Gnaw made its grand return, and Tyler made sure to make mention of the infamous blunder.

Tyler The Creator Goes In

In the video clip above, you can see Tyler The Creator performing the song “Lumberjack.” There is a line in which Tyler says “I hit Drizzy and told him I had a milli’ for him.” However, this time around, he made sure to change the lyric to: “I called Drizzy and you booed him last time.” He then proceeded to call his crowd “assh*les” before everyone, including Tyler, bursted into laughs. Needless to say, it is good to see everyone having a fine sense of humor about what happened.

Toni Braxton Side-Eyes Chrisean Rock Twerking Backstage At Tamar’s Concert: Watch

Tamar Braxton was thankful to be in the presence of her loved ones this past weekend when hosting a concert in Baltimore. Unfortunately, the invitation she extended to Chrisean Rock to attend the event in their home state is currently coming back to haunt the 46-year-old as she continues to deal with the aftermath of her guest assaulting a backup singer. According to various reports, Rock was angry after finding out she wasn’t performing at Braxton’s show, causing her to punch James Wright Chanel in the face several times.

The victim has since confirmed that he’s okay on social media, though a close friend of Tamar’s, LeTroy, is hell-bent on sending the new mother to prison for assaulting Chanel. More details are surfacing with each passing day, along with videos of Rock drunkenly stumbling around both onstage and while hanging out in a dressing room behind the curtain. In one clip, the Baddies cast member lets her carefree personality shine through while throwing it back on Braxton and one of her sisters, Toni.

While the “Love and War” songstress seemed to share plenty of laughs with Rock at the event, Toni notably gave her some seriously bombastic side-eye in the clip above. We can only imagine what she was thinking at that moment, but little did she (and everyone else around) know what their special guest would be capable of later that evening. As we wait for any updates on potential charges, Chrisean is stepping away from social media for the time being, to the delight of many who are concerned for her wellbeing.

What Is Lil Kim’s Best-Selling Album?

In the annals of hip-hop history, few moments are as pivotal as the emergence of Lil Kim with her debut album, Hard Core. In 1996, a diminutive dynamo from Brooklyn shattered the glass ceiling with a velvet glove wrapped around a mic and a lyrical sledgehammer. Hard Core was not merely an album. It was a cultural manifesto that challenged the male-dominated rap industry with its unfiltered portrayal of female sexuality and prowess.

At a time when the voices of women in hip-hop were often relegated to the chorus, Lil Kim seized the narrative, commanding center stage with unapologetic bravado. Her debut was a tour-de-force. It was an audacious blend of gritty beats and glamorous life, all delivered with a streetwise flow. Hard Core was a declaration that the Queen Bee could not only navigate but dominate the rap landscape with potent and provocative bars.

Lil Kim’s fearless approach to music and image crafted an indelible blueprint for female empowerment in the genre. Hard Core etched her name in history as a rapper and trailblazer for a movement of women in music. It was a crowning achievement that heralded the arrival of female rappers taking control of their artistry, narratives, and sexuality.

Hard Core: A Manifesto Of Feminine Power

When Hard Core hit the shelves, it was immediately clear that Kim was rewriting the playbook for what a female rapper could embody in hip-hop. The album’s tracks were an unapologetic showcase of her lyrical ingenuity and a fearless declaration of her sexuality. In songs like “Big Momma Thang” and “No Time,” she exuded confidence and control, flipping the script on the genre’s traditionally male-centric narratives.

The production of Hard Core was a perfect marriage of Lil Kim’s audacious lyrics with lush, hard-hitting beats that would define the era’s East Coast sound. With the legendary Notorious B.I.G. as an executive producer and contributions from a slew of top-tier talent like Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, Jermaine Dupri, and Ski, the album was both a commercial juggernaut and a critical darling. Tracks such as “Crush on You” featuring Lil’ Cease and the platinum-selling “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix)” were not only hits but anthems that resonated with women everywhere, each beat and bar a step towards the empowerment of female voices in the industry.

Chart Success & Critical Acclaim

Hard Core catapulted Lil Kim from rising artist to hip-hop royalty. Its commercial success mirrored the boldness of its content. The album debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200. It was a remarkable achievement that underscored Lil’ Kim’s appeal beyond the traditional hip-hop circles. It wasn’t long before the RIAA certified it double platinum, confirming over two million copies sold. It’s a milestone for any artist and a groundbreaking accomplishment for a female rapper at the time.

The singles from Hard Core blazed their own trails through the charts. “No Time” soared to the top of the Billboard Rap Songs chart. “Crush on You” and “Not Tonight” found substantial success, with the latter’s remix becoming a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. These tracks weren’t just commercially viable. They were cultural moments that extended Lil Kim’s influence from the streets to the mainstream.

Critical reception of Hard Core was equally laudatory, with reviewers praising Lil Kim’s unyielding delivery and the album’s production quality. The boldness of her lyrical content, which challenged societal norms and expanded the space for female expression in hip-hop, was particularly noted. Hard Core earned Lil’ Kim nominations for prestigious awards. This further validated her artistry and the album’s significance in the broader music landscape.

A Legacy Etched In Hip-Hop History

More than two decades after its release, Hard Core stands as a seminal work in hip-hop. It’s echoes are felt in the genre’s continued evolution. Lil Kim’s debut was not just about the records it broke. It was also about the barriers it shattered, opening doors for a new generation of female artists unafraid to express their sexuality and assert their place in a male-dominated field. Her fearless approach laid the groundwork for the candid and unapologetic styles of countless MCs who followed in her footsteps.

Hard Core‘s cultural impact transcends music. It further influenced fashion with Kim’s iconic aesthetic that combined haute couture with streetwear. It became a trend that persists in today’s fashion landscape. Her influence on the visual language of female empowerment in music videos is undeniable.

The album’s legacy is also evidenced by its samples and references that continue to permeate hip-hop music. This is a testament to its enduring relevance. Lil’ Kim’s pioneering work on Hard Core set a precedent for authenticity, inspiring artists to share their truths without compromise. It remains a touchstone for discussions about gender in music and the portrayal of women in media.

Billie Eilish Turns Up For Ice Spice Set At Camp Flog Gnaw

Over the weekend, Tyler, The Creator brought back his Camp Flog Gnaw music festival. It was the first time he’s had the LA fest since 2019 when the weekend ended controversially. Fans expecting a surprise appearance from Frank Ocean famously booed Drake off stage. Subsequently, Tyler responded to the incident on social media by saying he was embarrassed by fans.

Now the festival has returned with major headliners like Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem, and SZA on board. One of the performers making her debut on the festival grounds was Ice Spice. One of the biggest breakout artists of 2023 took to the stage and is clearly getting the attention of some other stars. Fans watching the live-streamed version of the festival quickly noticed Billie Eilish in attendance watching Spice perform. Even among an already hyped crowd, Billie was particularly excited throughout much of Spice’s set. Check out some pictures of her in attendance below.

Billie Eilish Enjoying Ice Spice’s Performance

This wasn’t the only news to emerge from Camp Flog Gnaw over the weekend. Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem headlined Saturday night as “The Hillbillies.” They also made the live debut of their collaboration of the same name. During their set, they brought out Tyler, The Creator who cameos on the song’s music video for a hilarious moment. Tyler has been known to pop up during various sets at the festival. Given his involvement in almost all layers of the production, it’s no surprise that he tends to pop up.

During his own set at the festival, Tyler talked new music. He joked with fans about their expectations, but was sure not to promise anything. He also took an opportunity during the performance to flaunt his own ego, describing it as “huge.” Giving a major performance at a music festival he helped organize probably informed those comments. What do you think of Billie Eilish getting hyped for Ice Spice’s set at Camp Flog Gnaw? Let us know in the comment section below.

Are Rihanna & ASAP Rocky Having A Third Baby?

asap rocky and rihanna
Getty Image

A viral tweet has fans wondering whether ASAP Rocky and Rihanna, who have had two children in two years, are expecting a third.

The tweet features a photo of a pregnant Rihanna alongside the caption: “Rihanna confirmed that she & Asap Rocky are expecting their 3rd Baby.”

However, as it was later pointed out by users adding context, the photo is actually from May 2023, when she was pregnant with the couple’s second child, and neither Rihanna nor ASAP Rocky has made announcements regarding a third pregnancy.

The tweet, which has over 18,000 shares as of this writing, is a prime example of much of what has gone wrong on Twitter — also known as “X” because that’s a perfectly good and reasonable name for a social media platform (if you’re an out-of-town billionaire best known for promoting conspiracy theories and trying to fight other tech billionaires) — since its purchase by Elon Musk. Since anyone with eight bucks to their name can pretend to be “verified” and engagement is rewarded no matter its value or authenticity, there are plenty of trolls on there willing to do or say whatever they can to get attention — and a cut of Musk’s new profit sharing model.

Again, with the worth of information on the internet rapidly approaching zero, it’s important to take stock of how trustworthy or otherwise a news source really is.

Tyler The Creator Kept Receipts, Calling Out His Camp Flog Gnaw Crowd For Booing Drake In 2019

Tyler The Creator clearly went to the Drake school of keeping receipts, because he certainly had one ready to go for the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival crowd during his Saturday set, reminding them that they booed Drake the last time the festival was held in 2019. During his performance of “Lumberjack” from Call Me If You Get Lost, Tyler changed the line “I hit Drizzy and told him I had a milli’ for him” to “I called Drizzy and you booed him last time” then called the crowd “assholes” before breaking down and laughing. The audience also had a chuckle at the not-so-subtle reminder.

The booing incident in 2019 was most likely caused by fans near the stage who had parked there early, hoping that the “mystery headliner” Tyler had been teasing would be Frank Ocean. And although the moment went viral and sparked a slew of memes (as Drake’s most embarrassing moments so often do), the majority of the crowd actually enjoyed his set, and both Tyler and Drake took the fumble in stride.

At the time, Tyler wrote on Twitter, “I thought bringing one of the biggest artist on the fucking planet to a music festival was fire… all jokes aside sh*t lowkey funny.” Meanwhile, Drake posted on Instagram, “Plot twist…just signed a 10 year residency at Camp Flog Gnaw sorry kids see you EVERY SINGLE YEAR till you are 30.”

Unfortunately, Flog Gnaw was forced to go on a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, but returned this past weekend with another stacked lineup — this time, going off without a hitch, even if Tyler found another way to disappoint fans.

Grammy 2024 Nominees: A Look At Best African Music Performance

On November 10, the highly-anticipated 2024 Grammy nominations were announced. As artists and fans held their breaths, many impressive names and projects were revealed to be up for the gold. However, the 2024 Grammys will also include three new categories, including Best African Music Performance. In previous years, African acts like Femi Kuti and Angélique Kidjo were up against other Global acts in the Best Global Music Performance.

This time, the category has been set to highlight the amazing musical talents straight out of the African continent. As expected, the Grammy-winning Burna Boy makes an appearance in the new category. After all, his most recent album, I Told Them… has been lauded by fans and critics alike. Nonetheless, some new faces have now received their first-ever Grammy nods this year. From Afrobeats maestro Davido to the South African starlet Tyla shaking things up, here are the nominees for Best African Music Performance for the 2024 Grammys.

“Amapiano” – Asake & Olamide

Evidently, Asake is arguably the biggest breakout act out of Africa this decade so far. The Lagos-born singer, songwriter, and dancer has come a long way. From studying theatre at his alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University, to lighting up major stages, including the O2 arena, he has become an unstoppable force. Today, he’s one of the most recognizable faces in Afrobeats and has received widespread acclaim for performing in his native tongue, Yoruba. His first-time Grammy nod comes as no surprise.

In 2022, Asake signed to Nigerian musical icon, Olamide’s record label, YBNL Nation. Soon after, he began to make serious waves. His second album, Work Of Art, released less than a year after his debut, houses the track “Amapiano.” The upbeat single, which features Olamide, was released to a positive reception and is one of the standout songs from the project. Furthermore, it’s a nod to the genre of the same name created in South Africa. With “Amapiano,” both Asake and Olamide have received their first-ever Grammy nominations.

“City Boys” – Burna Boy

In 2021, Burna Boy took home the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album for his fifth studio album, Twice As Tall. Fast forward to the 2024 Grammys, and he’s earned an impressive four nods. His nomination for Best African Music Performance is for his lauded Afro-fusion single, “City Boys.” The party staple has a slick, bass-heavy beat, and samples the single, “Birthday Sex” by Jeremih. The use of the sample garnered criticism after Burna Boy’s controversial comments about Black Americans but undoubtedly contributed to its success. Overall, “City Boys” has quickly become an anthem among fans, who join the star in professing their love for women, money, champagne, and marijuana.

“UNAVAILABLE” – Davido Ft. Musa Keys

Davido’s Grammy nods have been a long time coming, and fans can’t help but celebrate the star’s success. His 2017 record, “Fall,” was the first ever African record to receive a Gold certification in the United States. It also didn’t take long for his other record, “If,” to achieve the same feat. Evidently, his success was only a matter of time, and at the 2024 Grammys, the Nigerian Afrobeats legend will be up for three awards.

His nomination for Best African Music Performance is for his worldwide hit, “UNAVAILABLE,” which features South African producer, Musa Keys. The impressive, anthemic dance track is a declaration of a life of peace. After a series of highs and lows in his life, the star has retreated greatly from the limelight, preferring to make his music and steer clear of drama. The single’s catchy chorus has made it a party staple and even led to multiple, delicious remixes, featuring Latto and Sean Paul.

“Rush” – Ayra Starr

Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr burst onto the scene with the conviction to be the best. Clearly, she is on the right track, as she becomes the first Nigerian female artist to earn the nod for Best African Music Performance. Her 2022 single, “Rush,” was a hit upon release in her native Nigeria. However, by 2023, the song began to make waves on TikTok.

The 21-year-old singer and songwriter has been dominating the music scene since she first emerged in 2021. Since then, she has collaborated with many notable international acts, including Kelly Rowland, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and fellow Grammy-nominee, Tyla. Known for her powerful vocals, eclectic, sexy fashion choices, and charming personality, it didn’t take much time for Ayra Starr to capture the hearts of millions. “Rush” has since charted in numerous countries, particularly reaching a peak of 24 on the UK Singles Chart.

“Water” – Tyla

The South African starlet Tyla has been making waves for quite some time now. However, she broke the glass ceiling with her worldwide hit, “Water,” and also broke records along the way. She and Musa Keys are the South African artists that are up for the Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammys.  “Water” became a viral sensation on TikTok thanks to its impressive choreography, which features sensuous waist and hip movements.

Tyla is now the youngest South African to ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching a peak of 21. Furthermore, she is the first South African solo act in 55 years to enter the chart as well. As aforementioned, “Water” took over radio around the world, and has charted in several countries, reaching an impressive peak at the fourth spot on the UK Singles Chart. It also remarkably topped the New Zealand charts.
