Megan Thee Stallion’s RIAA Certifications Have Hotties Dissing 1501 Entertainment For Celebrating

It’s no surprise that Megan Thee Stallion’s past releases continue to rack up streams, and now, RIAA Certifications, especially considering it’s been some time since we’ve heard new music from the Houston native. Earlier this month, Carl Crawford’s 1501 Entertainment label celebrated the latest accolades achieved by their former artist. Among them are Platinum certs for “Cash S**t,” “Sex Talk,” and “Sweetest Pie” with Dua Lipa. In addition to that, Thee Stallion’s Traumazine LP has also been acknowledged as Gold by the RIAA.

While it’s nice to see 1501 congratulating the rap diva rather than furthering their beef, some of Thee Hotties couldn’t help but diss Crawford and his team in the comments. “You didn’t do nothing 😂,” one IG user wrote. “But congrats Megan,” they added. A few hours later, the label’s account wrote back, “Didn’t do nothing but invest the 💰 when no one else wanted to 🤷🏽‍♂️.”

1501 Goes Back and Forth with Megan Thee Stallion’s Fans

“I remember when you didn’t want to help her promote that last album,” another fan of Thee Stallion berated Crawford. “She still overcame.” When responding to this, he taunted them, “Ain’t nobody hating, y’all just mad it says 1501 on the credits. Deal with it, it’s never leaving forever lol.” Even amid the legal drama unfolding between him and the 28-year-old, the industry executive seems confident in his ability to come out on top.

When she first returned to the public eye after Tory Lanez was found guilty in late 2022, Megan Thee Stallion made it clear that mental health was more of a priority for her than releasing new music. Her fans have been incredibly supportive and understanding throughout all the trauma, and were ecstatic to hear that she and Cardi B and teaming up again for the first time since “WAP” on a single called “BONGOS.” Read all about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s Collab Single “BONGOS” Drops This Week

The Bardi Gang and the Hotties are losing their minds on social media right now, because what they’ve been waiting for is finally here. Amid a lot of successful singles, features, legal drama, relationship drama, and a whole lot else, both femcees have been relatively quiet on the solo music release front. However, that all changed on Monday (September 4) when Cardi B finally followed up her promise for a big announcement. What’s more is that this actually confirms previous rumors and brings us not just one rap return, but two. Moreover, she and Megan Thee Stallion will release their new single “BONGOS” this week, on Friday (September 8).

Of course, this is incredibly exciting news for fans of either artist, or for people that want another smash rap hit. After all, these are the two ladies that brought us “WAP”: how could they not have another banger on their hands? No matter what Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion bring us this time, though, it still marks the start of the former’s new album rollout, presumably. The Invasion Of Privacy era is no more, and after five years of waiting, it’s a welcome treat.

Sure, this is confirmation that followed an innumerable amount of teases, hints, and speculation about the Bronx MC’s next moves. Said excitement also goes for Megan Thee Stallion. Regardless, Cardi B seems more ready than ever to usher in a new phase of her career for fans. “I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single,” she told Vogue Mexico in an August cover story (which didn’t age well, but hey, we’re not complaining). “Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon. I also have plans in the world of cinema. In fact, I have plans to do everything I can: fashion, branding, I want to do it all, honey.”

Meanwhile, fans wonder whether this will mark a stylistic shift for either artist. Are we getting another hip-hop trunk-knocker and club rager, or is there something fresh to uncover? We’ll have to wait until this Friday to see. With that in mind, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.

A Two-Part Documentary On The Megan Thee Stallion And Tory Lanez Shooting Is Set To Hit Streaming, And Fans Are Not Happy About It

Fans of Megan Thee Stallion were vocally supportive of the “Body” rapper in the case of the 2020 shooting by Tory Lanez, who was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison last month. A documentary about the shooting is scheduled to hit Discovery Plus in the UK this Monday, September 4.

In a trailer for the film, which is called Megan Thee Stallion VS Tory Lanez: Five Shots, the case is described as “the biggest case since O.J.” The clip also teases that the documentary will comprise of “two films, two sides.”

Since the trailer circulated online, many fans have taken to social media to express their disdain for the documentary, calling it exploitative.

“y’all be so geeked to profit off of someone’s trauma for entertainment, weird,” said one fan on Twitter.

Another fan likened the documentary to Netflix’s Depp V. Heard and accused streaming networks of profiting from women’s trauma.

“women’s trauma is just clickbait to these studios and they genuinely do not care about how amber and megan were dogpiled by the media just for being honest,” she said, “and i’d go as far to say that they encourage this mistreatment.”

At the time of writing, only a trailer for a UK streaming has made its way onto the internet, as Discovery Plus has since merged with Max to become one platform. Max has not yet shared a trailer on any of their social platforms.

A U.S. air date or streaming date has not been announced.

Cardi B And Megan Thee Stallion Win WAP Lawsuit

One of the most notable hit songs of the 2020s so far just won a major legal battle. Back in 2020 Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion teamed up for the hilarious anthem “WAP.” The song was instantly controversial for its overtly sexual themes but that also propelled it to massive success on the charts. But last year the pair were reportedly sued by a rapper named Necey X who claimed that they stole lyrics from her song “Grab Em.”

Now according to Billboard, a judge has thrown out the lawsuit, ruling in Cardi and Megan’s favor. “The lyrics over which plaintiff asserts copyright protection are no more than common phrases, employed frequently in popular culture and other Hip-Hop songs,” district judge Andrew L. Carter ruled in the case. “The concept of using ‘p—- so wet’ as a rhetorical device in a song is neither original nor unique to plaintiff,” the judge wrote. “Likewise, defendants have provided examples of at least three songs pre-dating [‘Grab Em’] which use some variation of the phrase ‘n—–s wild’n,’” he concluded. The lawsuit victory comes during a time when neither Megan or Cardi have released much new material recently. Check out the full text of the decision in the story below.

Cardi B And Megan Thee Stallion Win Lawsuit

The controversy surrounding “WAP” lasted beyond when the song was a big hit. In a more recent interview, Cardi B explained why she never submitted the song for Grammy consideration. “This is something where it’s like, I need to stop letting the internet control my life. ‘Cause I didn’t want to submit ‘WAP’ because I was afraid that if I win or if I—you know what’s so crazy? The internet got me even afraid of winning. That is insane,” she said.

“WAP” spent four weeks at the number one spot on the Hot 100. It also became the first collaboration between female rap artists to debut at the top spot in its very first week. What do you think of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion winning their lawsuit over the lyrics from “WAP?” Let us know in the comment section below.

Doja Cat Disses ‘Critics’ And Not ‘People I’m Inspired By’ Like Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, And Megan Thee Stallion

Things aren’t that great between Doja Cat and her fans right now. Well, some of them: After she recently lost hundreds of thousands of social media followers after a rant against her fans, she wrote, “Seeing all these people unfollow me makes me feel like I’ve defeated a large beast that’s been holding me down for so long. And it feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was. I feel free.”

Now, the saga continues. There are apparently some folks out there who thinks Doja disses other rappers. Doja set the record straight on that, insisting that it’s just “the f*ckin phonies in my comment sections” she’s going after.

In a series of now-deleted Instagram Story posts shared today (September 1), she wrote:

“people don’t wanna accept im dissing them so they try to pin it on cardi nicki and meg and every other female rapper. I don’t diss rappers I diss critics. Stay bored. Stay reaching.

i don’t diss people i’m inspired by i don’t diss people i look up to. i don’t diss people who don’t attack and harass me every day. YALL do. SHE doesn’t. THEY dont. Y’all are the problem.

TO BE 100% CLEAR because I know you all need me to talk REEEEEAL SLOOOOOW for you; I’m not dissing anyone but the f*ckin phonies in my comment sections.”
