Last year, actress Meagan Good raised eyebrows when she began dating actor Jonathan Majors just weeks after his arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. Despite the controversy and her friends advising against the relationship, Good decided to follow her heart.
In a candid interview with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, Good opened up about her decision to date Majors. She revealed that her friends were concerned and advised her against the relationship. However, she chose to trust her instincts and faith.
“I wanna be responsible for the choices that I make and I also want to live the life that I wanna live,” Good explained during the interview.

Hollywood’s finest stars showed up in their best fashions on the Black-tie red carpet at The 4th Annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards held this past Friday, June 21 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
The award show highlights recipient contributions across the music, film, media, political, social and creative industries to celebrate their accomplishments and contributions for the Black community. The awards was founded by CEO of Hollywood Unlocked, culture critic, media personality, and talk show host, Jason Lee.
Host Tiffany Haddish wore a black, strapless black gown with a sheer polkadot bottom, while Impact Awards founder, Jason Lee, wore a pink tux jacket styled by Wayman and Micah.
A highlight of the evening was Christian Louboutin receiving the Innovator Award from Sharon Stone, who praised his iconic red soles as the “Rolls Royce of stilettos.” Notably, Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B, who received the Inspiration Award, celebrated Louboutin’s famous red soles in her debut hit “Bodak Yellow,” calling them “Bloody shoes.” Cardi B stunned in a black blazer dress with puff sleeves, tulle gloves, and a long tulle skirt by Fwrd. She completed the look with a side bang, red lip, and crystal jewelry.
Actor Jonathan Majors who received the Perseverance award showed up in a gray suit, alongside girlfriend Meagan Good who was dressed in a gold bedazzled Retrofete gown.
Other award recipients included rap icon Fat Joe (Culture Award), U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (Social Impact Award), attorney Ben Crump (Community Award), and Grammy-nominated rapper Da Brat and her wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart (Spirit Award).
These distinguished honorees join a prestigious list of previous awardees, including Chlöe Bailey, Law Roach, Whoopi Goldberg, Babyface, Tupac, Catherine Brewton, Floyd Mayweather, Kelis, Karen Bass, and Lizzo.
The 2024 Impact Awards also included special performances from singer and actor Fantasia Barrino, R&B singer-songwriter Lucky Daye, Hip-Hop artist Yellopain and Grammy Award winning gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard. The award show was pre-recorded and will air exclusively on The Zeus Network.
Jonathan Majors and his girlfriend, Meagan Good, have stepped out for their first public appearance since his sentencing for his domestic abuse trial back in April. As for the domestic violence case, Majors has maintained his innocence for over a year despite the courts finding him guilty of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment. In the wake of the verdict, he lost numerous acting roles and other business dealings. In April, he was sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program. The victim in that case, Grace Jabbari, further sued Majors for defamation in March, as a response to him maintaining his innocence before and after the verdict. In the lawsuit, she mentions other claims of battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and malicious prosecution.

Jonathan Majors will avoid jail time after being convicted of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment, last December. The disgraced former Marvel actor appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday for his sentencing. Instead of prison, he’ll have to partake in a 52-week domestic violence intervention program that will take place in person in Los Angeles. The prosecution asked for a six-month jail alternative if he fails to complete the program.
Additionally, Majors will have to continue mental health counseling and therapy while providing the court with updates on treatment. His attorney requested that he be able to take all of the sessions virtually. “We are optimistic that Mr. Majors will work in the film industry again soon,” they said. The Judge countered that the matter could be reconsidered if he starts landing roles again.

At the sentencing, Majors’ former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, whom he was convicted of assaulting, read a victim impact statement. “He’s not sorry. He has not accepted responsibility, and he will do this again. He will hurt other women. This is a man who believes he’s above the law,” Jabbari told the court. “I will not rest until I feel that he’s not a danger to anyone else.” Majors did not make a statement because, as his attorney put it, Jabbari would “attempt to use it against him in her civil case.”

Despite Majors’ guilty verdict in his assault trial and other news that broke about the actor this week, the couple is still “very much in love”, according to one source. The pair share a three-month-old puppy. However, this comes as more allegations break about Majors’ alleged behavior on the set of Lovecraft Country.
Meanwhile, a judge has delayed Majors’ sentencing after the actor’s legal team filed to dismiss his guilty verdict. Majors’ team argued that the actor had not been given a fair trial. The argument is based on the premise that the prosecution had portrayed the actor’s assault on his ex-girlfriend as intentional before eventually asking the jury to consider his actions “reckless”. As a result, the presiding judge has continued Majors’ case until early April.
Elsewhere, Two women, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, have gone public with allegations of physical and emotional abuse against Majors. Both women had their allegations referred to in a Rolling Stone exposé about Majors last year. However, the pair have since publicly reiterated their claims in an interview with The New York Times. Duncan claims that Majors “threw her across the room” and “threatened to make sure she couldn’t have children” during a fight in 2016. Meanwhile, Hooper called Majors “deeply controlling” and told her she was “not allowed to speak with anyone about the relationship”. Majors has denied the accusations. However, his attorney noted that the actor was “deeply embarrassed by some of his jealous behavior”. Both women had previously declined to speak directly to Rolling Stone, with one citing a fear of retribution.
The testimony of Duncan and Hooper follows semi-public claims from another woman, who spoke to The Cut under a pseudonym. “Anna” told the publication that she had pulled her story from the Rolling Stone article after receiving a threatening letter warning her not to go public with her allegations. According to “Anna”, the phone number included with the letter was linked to the law firm retained by Majors for his criminal trial last year. Majors’ attorney denied any involvement from her or her firm in the letter.

I’m so blessed to have her.” This seemingly got the attention of MLK and Coretta’s daughter, Dr. Bernice King, who appeared to call him out on social media earlier this week.

He recently came to his own defense amid the debacle, noting how much of an inspiration Coretta Scott King is. During a recent chat with TMZ, he called her “a great woman, a very important figure in American and world history, and someone both Meagan and I are inspired by and deeply admire.”
Elsewhere in his ABC interview, Majors also revealed that he believed the evidence presented was in his favor, describing being “shocked” to hear the verdict. “I’m standing there and the verdict comes down. I say, ‘How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? As for Jabbari’s testimony, she claimed that there’s another, more violent, side of Majors. “His face kind of changes when he gets into that place,” Jabbari told the jury. “He’s a big guy so you just want to step back.” Describing her mental state at the time of the relationship, she recalled: “I felt I was existing in his world. Emotionally and physically, all these ways. I didn’t feel my autonomy. I had low self-esteem, I lost weight, I felt unconfident. I felt really dependent on him. He was the only one who knew what went on. I found it hard to [see my family and friends]. I felt I was lying to them.”
Meagan Good has been by Majors’ side throughout the trial in recent weeks. The case stems from Majors’ arrest for allegedly attacking Jabbari in New York on March 25 during a cab ride.
