Jonathan Majors Assault Case Sentencing Hands Down No Jail Time

Jonathan Majors Assault Case Sentencing Hands Down No Jail Time

The decision is on how Jonathan Majors will be punished for the guilty verdict in his assault and harassment trial. TMZ reports that he will avoid jail time. At today’s sentencing hearing in Manhattan, the judge ordered Majors to do a 12-month counseling course with one weekly session over 52 weeks. So basically, court-mandated therapy.

Major attended the sentencing with his girlfriend, Meagan Good, who has been by his side throughout much of the legal proceedings of his case.

His look was no-nonsense and, as TMZ puts it, “solemn and serious.” He did not make a statement or stop for any questions.

Check this: He can complete his program in Los Angeles, so that works with his schedule. If you believe the industry chatter, he’s apparently gearing up for new jobs.

The D.A.’s office stated that if the Major failed to comply with the very lenient conditions, he could face jail time. ICYMI, the actor was facing up to one year in prison after he was accused by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, where he was subsequently convicted of 2 of 4 counts, especially assault and harassment. But he was ultimately acquitted on two other counts of assault and harassment.

There’s a lot of detail from the two-week trial, but if you recall, Majors was seen running away from Jabbari at one point but seen placing her in the SUV, where that action contributed to his conviction based on the jury’s decision. Jabbari was also seen partying at a bar that night before returning to their shared home in New York City. Make up your minds with this one, but justice, however you believe it was served, has wrapped this case up.

Jonathan Majors Avoids Jail Time, Sentenced To Domestic Violence Intervention Program

Jonathan Majors will avoid jail time after being convicted of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment, last December. The disgraced former Marvel actor appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday for his sentencing. Instead of prison, he’ll have to partake in a 52-week domestic violence intervention program that will take place in person in Los Angeles. The prosecution asked for a six-month jail alternative if he fails to complete the program.

Additionally, Majors will have to continue mental health counseling and therapy while providing the court with updates on treatment. His attorney requested that he be able to take all of the sessions virtually. “We are optimistic that Mr. Majors will work in the film industry again soon,” they said. The Judge countered that the matter could be reconsidered if he starts landing roles again.

At the sentencing, Majors’ former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, whom he was convicted of assaulting, read a victim impact statement. “He’s not sorry. He has not accepted responsibility, and he will do this again. He will hurt other women. This is a man who believes he’s above the law,” Jabbari told the court. “I will not rest until I feel that he’s not a danger to anyone else.” Majors did not make a statement because, as his attorney put it, Jabbari would “attempt to use it against him in her civil case.”

Majors was joined in court on Monday by his girlfriend, Meagan Good. She was by his side during the initial trial. Be on the lookout for further updates on Jonathan Majors on HotNewHipHop.

Jonathan Majors’ Conviction Stands After Court Denies Motion To Drop Assault & Harassment Charges

In February, Jonathan Majors’ scheduled sentencing hearing was pushed back after his team filed a motion to vacate his conviction entirely. The defense reportedly felt as though insufficient evidence was presented at trial, that his charges were inconsistent, and more. Now, the court has shot him down, meaning he’ll be handed a sentence next week on April 8.

Earlier this year, the actor was found guilty of assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. His conviction could see him get up to a year behind bars, or depending on how the sentencing goes, probation. Majors has maintained his innocence throughout the trial, and post-conviction. “I was reckless with her heart, not with her body,” he said of Jabbari in an interview with ABC News‘ Linsey Davis shortly after his guilty verdict was revealed.

Jabbari isn’t the only one of Majors’ former partners to come forward with assault allegations in recent months, however. In February, his exes Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper went public with accusations of physical and emotional abuse. Duncan alleges that he once “threw her across the room” and “threatened to make sure she couldn’t have children” during a fight in 2016. Hooper claims Majors was “deeply controlling” throughout their relationship, which she was allegedly “not allowed to speak with anyone about.”

Majors denies their allegations too, but admits that he’s “deeply embarrassed by some of his jealous behavior.” What do you think of a court rejecting Jonathan Majors’ request to get his charges dropped? Jonathan Majors Hits The Gym Amid New Lawsuit

Jonathan Majors is sweating the new lawsuit filed against him by ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Jabbari has filed a civil suit seeking damages for alleged abuse and defamation. Earlier this year, Jabbari won a criminal trial against Majors, who is yet to be sentenced. However, Majors appeared unbothered as he spoke at an LA gym to TMZ. Elsewhere in the interview, Majors called current partner Meagan Goode “his heart”.

Furthermore, it’s not the first time that Majors has been spotted at the gym in recent weeks. In early March, Majors was spotted going hard at the gym amid rumors that he is in the running for a new film role. Per TMZ, Majors was in LA for an audition this week, where he has also been working with a team of specialist trainers. However, there is no word on what the project might be. Majors, who will be sentenced in April after being found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment, is reportedly splitting his time between LA and New York. In LA, it’s all work, with plenty of gym time. However, his NYC time is more laidback, typically spent with partner Meagan Good.

Jonathan Majors Faces New Allegations From Two Ex-Partners

However, Jabbari’s new lawsuit isn’t the only part of Majors’ past that is haunting him. Two women, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, recently went public with allegations of physical and emotional abuse against Majors. Both women had their allegations referred to in a Rolling Stone exposé about Majors last year. However, the pair have since publicly reiterated their claims in an interview with The New York Times. Duncan claims that Majors “threw her across the room” and “threatened to make sure she couldn’t have children” during a fight in 2016. Meanwhile, Hooper called Majors “deeply controlling” and told her she was “not allowed to speak with anyone about the relationship”. Majors denied the accusations. However, his attorney noted that the actor was “deeply embarrassed by some of his jealous behavior”. Both women had previously declined to speak directly to Rolling Stone, with one citing a fear of retribution.

The testimony of Duncan and Hooper follows semi-public claims from another woman, who spoke to The Cut under a pseudonym. “Anna” told the publication that she had pulled her story from the Rolling Stone article after receiving a threatening letter warning her not to go public with her allegations. According to “Anna”, the phone number included with the letter was linked to the law firm retained by Majors for his criminal trial last year. Majors’ attorney denied any involvement from her or her firm in the letter.

Jonathan Majors Sued by Ex-GF Grace Jabbari, Citing Defamation and Battery

Jonathan Majors Reflects on Incident Leading to Assault Conviction

Jonathan Majors will be headed to court again. He is being sued by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, for battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more.

Additional accusations in the civil suit include malicious prosecution and defamation, stating she alerted Majors’ team of abuse beginning in 2021. Jabbari stated she was subjected to a “pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023.”

Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, responded: “This is no surprise. Mr. Majors is preparing counterclaims against Ms. Jabbari.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Majors met Jabbari as he filmed Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, and the first attack happened in 2022 and caused “serious injuries to her body.”

Jabbari stated in Sept. 2022, a verbal altercation led to Majors pushing her, causing bruising to her backside, throwing her on the hood of a car, and placing his hands around her neck with a threat of killing her.

In a separate event, Majors allegedly cornered Jabbari on a bed and raised his fist over her as she cowered. The suit reads, “On this occasion, Majors did not physically strike Grace; he obtained control over himself and left the property as Grace locked herself in a bedroom for safety.”

Additional accusations of domestic violence are available in the full report.

Majors currently await sentencing for misdemeanor third-degree assault and a violation of harassment in the second degree. The hearing is set for April 8, and Majors faces up to one year in prison.

Jonathan Majors’ Ex-Girlfriend Sues Him For Defamation, Assault & Battery

Jonathan Majors is facing a new lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, following his 2023 conviction for misdemeanor reckless assault and harassment. Citing claims of battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation, Jabbari filed the case in New York on Tuesday. She says the disgraced actor’s insistence on his innocence despite last year’s conviction is an example of defamation.

The lawsuit notes a Sept. 20, 2022 incident in which Majors allegedly “pushed Grace so hard that it bruised her backside,” “picked Grace up in the air and threw her against the hood of her car,” and “brought Grace back into their house and held his hands around her neck, stating that he wanted to kill her, and that he was going to kill her.” It adds that, “Majors then started hitting Grace’s head against the marble floor while strangling her until she felt she could no longer breathe.”

Jabbari says she wanted to seek medical treatment for the incident but Majors dissuaded her. “They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to an investigation even if you do lie and they suspect something,” he allegedly said via text. Those texts came up during Majors’ previous trial, but the judge only allowed the jury to interpret them as background information. The trial did not discuss the actual incident they referenced. “Majors would threaten suicide in response to Grace’s attempts to understand why Majors became physically violent with her in the aftermath and to manipulate Grace away from going to the hospital or reporting the violence to authorities,” the suit also claims.

Jabbari’s lawsuit also notes that Majors went on a press tour proclaiming himself “completely innocent,” to be “probably the victim,” that he “did not assault her whatsoever,” and that “this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital.” She cited his viral interview with Good Morning America as one example. It’s not the first time that Majors has to have been ripped for a role. He had an imposing physique in his brief appearances as Kang in the MCU. Furthermore, there was also Magazine Dreams, in which Majors played an increasingly obsessive bodybuilder. However, Magazine Dreams does not currently have a release date. Searchlight Pictures, a subsidiary of Disney, acquired the distribution rights to the film after it opened to rave reviews at Sundance 2023. It was meant to be released in December but was shelved in light of Majors’ legal issues.

Jonathan Majors Reveals He And Meagan Good Are “In Love,” Fans React

Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good recently stepped out for a rare public appearance at the AAFCA Special Achievement Honorees Luncheon in Los Angeles on Saturday (March 3). Moreover, when Extra TV asked them how their relationship was holding up, the former said that they’re “in love” as his answer, whereas the latter remarked, “We’re doing great; God is good” as they laughed and thanked the reporter for their answer. This follows the actor breaking his silence on his harassment and assault convictions in early January of this year. As such, many fans reacted wildly to this on Twitter, either in support of the couple or skeptically referencing his situation.

“The industry snatched his appeal right along with his freedom to star in any more movies…” one fan posited concerning Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good on Twitter. Another added, “I’m really happy for them,” whereas a user expressed pessimism over their future together. “Well now that his career is over let’s see how long g she stays ‘in love,’” they shared on the social media platform. Whatever side you fall on here, it will be interesting to see how their public image continues to evolve and grow.

Jonathan Majors & Meagan Good Speak On Their Relationship: Watch

Unfortunately for them, when it comes to this matter, it seems like there will be some tough obstacles to be accountable for. For example, two of Jonathan Majors’ former partners recently came forward with new allegations of abuse, physical and emotional, against him. Apparently, their testimonies previously appeared in a Rolling Stone article about the initial explosions of accusations against him. But in a new interview with The New York Times, both women went public with their stories and doubled down on them.

Meanwhile, the Creed III entertainer is keeping his religious faith amid his guilty verdict and using it to forge a path forward. At least, that’s how he recently explained his situation to a TMZ paparazzi who caught up with him back in January. No matter how this couple chooses to handle the situation moving forward, it will be a tough road that they seem committed to traveling together.
