Lil Tjay “Told Ya” He Would Make It One Day On New Single

There are rappers who like to push their boundaries and others who like to stay in the familiar lane. Both approaches have their pros and cons, that is obvious. If an artist likes to continue to build on their existing sound and improve on it, that is more than respectable. However, some can come across content, and for listeners that can get stale. Lil Tjay is a talented guy, no doubt about it.

But, this new single “Told Ya” feels too familiar. The message and lyrics are solid as usual. On the production side, it sounds agreeable. However, it is something you will hear in a lot of rap songs today. Again, it is not bad by any means. It is just okay at the end of the day for us.

Lil Tjay And Fivio Foreign Put A Drill Spin On “Last Christmas”

Christmas music, whether you love it or hate, it makes the holiday a little extra special. It adds a sense of warmth, and nostalgia, and can maybe turn the Scrooges into Christmas carolers. Some rappers and hip-hop-adjacent artists have been putting their spin on some classics over the years. Others are trying to create unique holiday-themed tracks. Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign fit into the first category in this scenario, though.

Both New Yorkers and common collaborators, the two have come together for a short but emotionally-driven single. For this one, Tjay has taken direct inspiration from Wham! “Last Christmas” from 1984 has firmly become a Christmas staple. However, these drill rappers wanted to spruce it up a bit.

Listen To “Last Christmas” By Lil Tjay And Fivio Foreign

This spiced-up Christmas jingle samples the most iconic lines from Wham! They open up the track and have Chipmunk vocals instead. Tjay and Fivio rap about treating a girl right and making it in the music industry. Its standard fare from these two and it is a lackluster effort. However, it is gaining some traction on YouTube. “Last Christmas” is number 10 on trending with nearly 400,000 views already.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Last Christmas,” by Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign? Is this one of the best holiday-themed rap tracks, why or why not? What are your overall opinions of rappers making this kind of music? Which rapper do you think would be able to make a good Christmas album? Lil Tjay And Kyle Richh Are Feeling Betrayed On “I Should’ve Known”

Bronx, NY rapper Lil Tjay is back with his first single since the release of his last album, 222. That project dropped a few months ago -July to be exact- and now he is beginning to release new material. This is the first time he is working with another New York native, Kyle Richh. It is a little surprising this is the lone collaboration we have from them considering both have similar styles.

Nonetheless, we have a chance now to see how the two mesh. How do they do in that department? We would say both Tjay and Richh sound like they belong on more songs together. Richh’s deeper voices contrasts well with Tjay’s higher pitch.

The themes in this song are ones of betrayal and loneliness. Both perform over a drill beat which both are no strangers to. Lil Tjay refers back to the time he was shot at. He raps, “B**** you was there (Grah) / Made you duck in the chair / You know n****s wan’ kill me (Kill me).” It is nothing new for either rapper but it does its job at conveying what it wants to.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single from Lil Tjay and Kyle Richh, “I Should’ve Known?” Do you think this is going to be a loosie or a single for an upcoming album? Who had the best performance on the track? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. YK Osiris Says Lil Tjay Is “Flopping,” Insinuates New Yorker Is “Scared” Of Him

Life for Lil Tjay has never been the same since he almost lost his life in a brutal shooting last June. Thankfully, the young entertainer has made an impressive recovery and spent much of this summer performing on stages across the globe. That trend continued this past weekend, though the high of putting on another great show was seemingly diminished by some drama with another artist – YK Osiris. According to alleged screenshots posted on Tjay’s Instagram Story on Sunday (October 1), the 25-year-old has been spamming his phone with unkind messages.

“Scary a** ni**a. [You] so scared of me lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂,” Osiris seemingly messaged Tjay. “Lol 😂. It’s ok, I’m not gonna slap [you] lol. Imma spare [you], you my son lol,” the “Dear Fans” artist assured the young rapper. “I know [you] scared man 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Lol 😂 [you] need another hit man. Lol 😂 [you] trash [as f**k] lol 😂,” YK’s tormenting continued. At this point, Tjay calmly responded, “Don’t mind me bro. Please stop texting me.”

Lil Tjay Wants YK Osiris to Leave Him Alone

Osiris failed to comply with his op’s request, writing back, “Lol 😂 [you] need one man. That money [gonna] run out lol. 😂😂 Stop spending it on h*es man, not good.” Once again, Tjay asked the Florida native to leave him alone, but YK couldn’t help but throw in one more diss. “Lol 😂😂😂😂. [You] flopping man,” he boldly declared. When sharing a screenshot of the awkward interaction on IG, the 22-year-old said, “I keep blocking this ninja 🥷🏾. Lol, someone tell Osiris leave me alone 😭. WTF.”

Lil Tjay clearly has no problem putting YK Osiris on blast, which seems to be the opposite of what the latter is going for lately. Last month, the R&B artist made a point to apologize to the barber he was accused of scamming, declaring himself a “genuine” person at the same time. Read what else YK had to say about the situation at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Lil Tjay Net Worth 2023: What Is The Rapper Worth?

Bronx-born rapper Lil Tjay, also known as Tione Merritt, became a beacon of the drill music genre. His rise from the commotion of New York streets to the glittering marquees of hip-hop stardom serves as a compelling narrative. Arrests, detentions, and the overarching struggles of a marginalized upbringing couldn’t stifle his voice. Instead, these experiences wove themselves into his lyrics, imbuing them with a raw authenticity. As of 2023, CAknowledge places his net worth at $1.5 million in 2023, a remarkable path.

Lil Tjay’s ascent in the music industry has been meteoric. His debut album, True 2 Myself, garnered critical acclaim, followed by a riveting sophomore effort, Destined 2 Win. With hits like “Calling My Phone” and collaborations with luminaries such as Polo G and 6LACK, Lil Tjay cemented his place in contemporary hip-hop. His performances became his signature, laden with emotional intensity and intricate wordplay.

Though notoriously private, Lil Tjay has shown snippets of a life as multifaceted as his music. He extends his influence beyond the microphone from social media snippets that display a penchant for fashion to philanthropic ventures aimed at community uplift. His complex relationship with his Bronx roots persists, oscillating between nostalgia and the requisite distance of stardom.

The Beat: Branching Into Entrepreneurship

In addition to music, Lil Tjay’s keen eye for opportunity is evident in his foray into entrepreneurship. Whether it’s his clothing line or investments in digital ventures, he’s wisely channeling his earnings into diversified assets. By doing so, he enriches his financial portfolio while building an empire that goes beyond chart-toppers.

The Outro: The Continuing Crescendo

Lil Tjay is far from a one-hit wonder or a fleeting moment in hip-hop. His evolving artistry and expanding business ventures hint at a legacy that will likely extend for decades. As a young artist with a growing net worth, an expanding brand, and a devoted fan base, he stands on the precipice of a long, impactful career.

Who Is Opening Lil Tjay’s ‘Beat The Odds Tour?’

In just two days, Lil Tjay will launch the Beat The Odds Tour — his first since 2021, when he toured his second album, Destined 2 Win. Since then, he’s recovered after being shot seven times during a failed robbery attempt in New Jersey last June, and released his third studio album, 222, this July.

Tjay will be joined on this tour by a slew of artists, including frequent collaborator Fivio Foreign, Dej Loaf, and rising stars Skilla Baby, Joony, Dina Ayada, Killy, Lithe, and Karri. See below for more info about the Beat The Odds Tour openers.

Fivio Foreign

Brooklyn rapper Fivio Foreign is best known for his collaborations with late drill rap vanguard Pop Smoke, as well as high-profile collabs with the likes of Drake, Kanye West, Lil Baby, and Quavo. After being featured in the 2020 XXL Freshman Class, he released his debut album, B.I.B.L.E. in 2022, debuting at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Dej Loaf

Blog era fave Dej Loaf first came to national prominence in 2014 with the release of her second mixtape, Sell Sole, and its single “Try Me.” She was signed to Columbia Records, but after years of delays, split from the label to independently release Sell Sole II in 2020. Since then, the Detroit native has made regular appearances as a coveted features artist for artists like Doe Boy and Tyla Yaweh.

Skilla Baby

Another Detroit rapper, Skill Baby is protege of Sada Baby, whose work ethic is every bit as uncompromising as his contemporaries like Babyface Ray and 42 Dugg. After releasing two projects in 2022, he followed up this year with the Controversy mixtape alongside fellow Motor City rapper Tee Grizzley.

Joony

Hailing from Maryland, Joony sing-raps over soulful and occasionally haunting beats, venting about life and relationships. He’s quite prolific; his latest album, Sh*tumss, dropped in May, just a year after his last, Pretty In Black. You can catch him on Tjay’s London, Birmingham, and Glasgow dates.

Dina Ayada

Dina Ayada is a rapper and singer from Morocco who has built an impressive following on moody songs like “Miles Away” and “Games.” There isn’t a whole lot of info about her yet, but she’s got an intriguing sound and a cool look that could lead to more growth in the future. She’s billed on the UK dates of the tour.

Killy

A Canadian rapper of mixed Bajan and Filipino heritage, he’s already gotten Drake’s attention, and released an impressive collection of projects in just the six short years since his debut in 2017. His latest, K3 is less than a week old as of this writing. He’ll be joining Tjay on his Canadian dates.

Lithe

When the tour swings around to Australia, local singer Lithe will join, performing popular tracks like “Lot Of Love,” “Pessimist,” and “Hold Out.”

Karri

The tour’s West Coast swing will see rising San Francisco R&B singer Karri tag along. His latest release is the four-song EP, Only U.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Lil Tjay Kicked Out Of Hotel For Blasting Music

Lil Tjay was having a blast at the hotel he was staying in, but not if the employees had something to say about it. A video is making its way on Instagram, where the Bronx rapper is voicing his annoyance with being tossed out for noise complaints. Furthermore, he was at a club tossing singles up the ceiling. Maybe celebrating the recent release of his album 222. After leaving the club the night before, he presumably booked a room at the hotel. The next morning, around 8 a.m. the workers and other guests had enough of the raucous sounds and removed him from the premises.

The auto-crooner shared how he really felt in the video saying, “I’m at this buma** hotel, they just kicked me out.” He goes on, “I walked in there, turn up my music, man they gon’ tell me ‘yo turn the music down.’” Tjay responded saying, “Hold on, hold on, don’t worry we gon’ turn it down right now.” Then the workers come back later and say, “‘Get out the room.’” This video has sparked converse opinions in the comments section of the Instagram video.

Many people shared a similar sentiment on the situation. One account says, “You’re a 22-year-old grown man. Tighten up.” In addition, someone says, “It ain’t a flex to be a dumbass. Read the room it’s Monday morning and you in a hotel pipe down.” However, there are some that disagree with the majority. One person says, “He young livin y’all hatin.” While both sides make compelling arguments, the employees were certainly right to remove Lil Tjay from their hotel.
