Quavo Urges Donald Trump To Prioritize Gun Prevention Policies

Quavo may have built up a persona as a trapper in his music, but the Migos rapper has taken an upright stance against gun control in recent years. The death of the rapper’s nephew, Takeoff, has motivated him to make a positive change in his community and the world as a whole. It’s something that initially drew him to Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Now that Donald Trump is set to become the next President, however, Quavo is making a similar plea to the Republican party.

TMZ caught up with the rapper to discuss the outcome of the recent election. Quavo made it clear that he wants to see positive change regardless of which party is in power. “I think [Harris] did a great job,” the rapper said, when asked about the VP. “[The] foundation I was pushing was about gun violence, so I feel like whoever is in office needs to handle that problem.” Quavo did not mention Trump by name, but he made it clear that he will not let his own political bias get in the way of U.S. progress. “It’s a universal problem, so it doesn’t have any red or blue on there,” the rapper asserted. “Gun violence [prevention] is for everybody and the world.”

Quavo Claimed Gun Prevention Transcends Party Colors

TMZ asked Quavo if he believes Donald Trump will back the same gun policies that Harris promoted. He didn’t have a concrete answer (who would), but he did make it clear that is hopeful. “I feel like he should,” he noted. “I feel like every president should.” Quavo’s passion for gun violence prevention has reached a height point in the last few months. Those who were previously unaware of the rapper’s campaign were made aware by his appearance at a Harris campaign rally in August.

Quavo told those in attendance that gun prevention was something that every American should prioritize. “You can’t understand the struggle of gun violence if you are not in the field or in the heart of it,” he said. There’s certainly no love lost between Quavo and Donald Trump. The rapper criticized Trump for serving the championship college team the Clemson Tigers fast food in 2019. He tweeted at the team and vowed to show Trump how “champs should really be treated.” It says a lot that the Migos rapper is willing to put away his bias for the greater good.

Candace Owens Slams Beyonce For “Childish” Response To Kamala Harris Rally Rumors

Recently, Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles took to Instagram to shut down Candace Owens. The political commentator accused the Grammy-winning songstress of accepting $10 million to endorse Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential Election. According to Knowles, however, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

“So this has been flagged on Instagram as fake news and taken down. It’s called False Information. Sadly, other platforms with a lack of integrity still have it up. The lie is that Beyoncé was paid 10 million dollars to speak at a rally in Houston for Vice President Kamala Harris. When in fact, Beyoncé did not receive a penny for speaking at a Presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris’s rally in Houston,” her post begins.

“In fact she actually paid for her own flights for her and her team, and total Glam,” she added. “They are not only lying and disrespecting Beyonce’s name but they are trying to further discredit the power of our vice president! When does the lies and rumors stop? Of course you won’t see this in the news.” Now, Owens has responded to Knowles’ post in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section, making her stance clear.

“Foremost, Beyoncé needs to stop posting from her burner account. Also this is not the flex she thinks this is. Foremost— my post literally said ‘allegedly’ and named the multiple publications that reported it. They ALL reached out to confirm the alleged amount, multiple times, to both Beyoncé and Kamala campaign and were met with silence,” she wrote. “The fact that Beyoncé opted to use her hyper-privileged connections at Instagram to have a post removed makes her a blubbering baby. People share untrue reports on me all the time— do I call Mark Zuckerberg? Sending your literal mama to defend you as opposed to just responding to journalists asking for answers (like Cardi B did when I asked her) is childish af. Cardi answered immediately and I included her response in my show. Beyoncé has gotten so rich, she’s acting st*pid.”

Cardi B ‘Came Out Of Pocket’ For Her Kamala Harris Rally Appearance: ‘I Didn’t Get Paid A Dollar’

Self-declared history and politics buff Cardi B went back on her vow to stay uninvolved in this year’s election, endorsing Kamala Harris after Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race. Although her preferred candidate didn’t win (and the future of the country looks undoubtedly bleak as a result), Cardi hasn’t backed down from online criticism of her endorsement, shutting down right wing grifter Candace Owens, who insinuated that her only reason for making the campaign rally appearance was getting paid by the Harris-Walz campaign.

“I didn’t get paid a dollar and that’s on my three!!” she shot back via Twitter (never calling it “X,” which is a dumb, horrid name). “I actually came out of pocket for glam and travel because it’s somewhere I wanted to be. Like please girl you know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE.”

It isn’t the first time Cardi has clapped back at Owens. In May, she shot down Owens’ disingenuous call to ban porn — although, she later realized that the engagement was only serving the wannabe commentator’s ends and deleted her responses. She’d likely be better served using that time to work on that long-awaited second album, which even she acknowledges has taken forever to finish.

Cardi B Claims Kamala Harris Didn’t Pay Her For Endorsement While Shading Candace Owens

Cardi B was one of many superstars who endorsed Democrat Kamala Harris in her bid for president of the United States. While she wasn’t successful, losing to convicted Republican candidate Donald Trump last week, celebrities still stand by the candidate and defend their stance against those who doubt their earnestness. For example, conservative commentator Candace Owens recently asked the Bronx femcee via Twitter whether or not the Harris campaign paid her to speak at a rally shortly before election day. She had a fiery statement for Owens in response, making it clear that she doesn’t need a big bag in order to talk politics and advocate for the important issues she finds most relevant.

“I didn’t get paid a dollar and that’s on my three!!” Cardi B responded to Candace Owens on the social media platform. “I actually came out of pocket for glam and travel because it’s somewhere I wanted to be.. Like please girl you know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE.” Of course, this isn’t the first clash between these two women in the political space, and we’re sure it won’t be the last.

Cardi B Responds To Candace Owens

Elsewhere, though, Cardi B dealt with plenty of other social media narratives recently, including fans’ incessant demands for her long-awaited sophomore album. It seems like her recent Grammy nomination plus some other career developments inspired her to put her foot on the gas a little more. With new teases, hints, song snippets, and vague announcements, it seems like we’re in the “Maybe it’s happening!” phase of this cyclical rollout. Hopefully someone breaks the wheel and drops the project already, although we’re sure that a few other big things would have to line up to pave the way for it.

Sadly, some of these narratives – whether Cardi B’s strong political stances fueled them or not – hit too close to home for her. Fans (or haters, rather) posted Photoshopped images of her daughter with Offset, who recently joined the family as their third child. The couple isn’t exactly on good terms right now, but they presented a united front against this personal attack. Hopefully politics don’t result in more oversteps like these and social media users know their place.

Pharrell Clarifies He Didn’t Mean To Diss Taylor Swift With Shot At Politcal Endorsements

Pharrell Williams says he never intended to diss Taylor Swift by criticizing celebrity endorsements of politicians prior to the 2024 presidential election. He had made the comments during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that was published after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris. Reflecting on the drama during a new conversation with GQ, Pharrell revealed that he’s a fan of the iconic singer.

“Because that’s what they do. They pit you against each other. I love Taylor. She knows that,” Pharrell began. When asked if he even mentioned Swift, he added: “No. Zero. In fact, I bought a 1989 Taylor T-shirt online last year, and I was walking around here with it tucked into my jeans. I love her. I love people, bro. That was some right-wing troll sh*t. But I heard something the other day that made the most sense in the world: Right-wing, left-wing, all the same bird.”

As for the original comments from Pharrell, he told The Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for]. There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you.’ When people get out there and get self-righteous and they roll up their sleeves and sh*t, and they are out there walking around with a placard: ‘Shut up!’”

Swift had been making numerous headlines for her endorsement of Harris at the time. Donald Trump even responded to the move in a post on his Truth Social Platform, writing: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Check out Pharrell’s cover story for GQ below.

Yung Joc Claims Donald Trump Lyric Ruined His Kamala Harris Rally Plans

Yung Joc is an Atlanta legend. The rapper was featured on some of the biggest hip hop hits of the 2000s, and he was reportedly tapped to perform in support of Kamala Harris a few months back. Harris called upon numerous artists to perform/speak at her campaign rallies in the lead up to the election. Joc was evidently one of them. The rapper revealed this tidbit during a recent appearance on the radio show Way Up with Angela Yee. He also explained the very specific, and very unfortunate, reason that he was not allowed to perform.

“I get a call to perform at a rally, for Kamala,” Yung Joc stated. “Went to the DNC, I did all these different things. I was like ‘hell yeah.’” After some time had passed, however, the rapper was told that his services would no longer be required. “They’re like ‘I’m sorry, that’s been shut down, sir.’” Yung Joc asked why he had been removed from the list of performers. He was subsequently told the Kamala Harris campaign did not approve of a particular lyric in his biggest hit, “It’s Goin’ Down.” “‘The record that you were going to perform,’” he recalls being told. “‘It quotes: boys in the hood call me Black Donald Trump.’”

Yung Joc Regrets His Lyrical Reference In Retrospect

Yung Joc recalls being taken aback by the news, but ultimately understanding the cancelation. “Why did I say that in the record,” he rhetorically asked the radio hosts. “It was a different time, it was propaganda for me then.” The hosts came to Joc’s defense, and noted that dozens of rappers compared themselves to Donald Trump over the decades. This is not the first time that Yung Joc has expressed regret over the “Black Donald Trump” lyric. The rapper talked about his particular choice of words during an interview on B High Atl.

He told the panel that he no longer says the lyric with pride when he performs “It’s Goin’ Down” live. He joins a long list of rappers who have denounced the future President after equating his name with wealth and status. One of the most notable, of course, was Mac Miller. “Donald Trump” was the name of one of Miller’s earliest hits, yet he spent the rest of his career castigating Trump. He described the President as “hateful” during an appearance on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore in 2016.

Tyrese Blames Donald Trump Supporters For Spreading False “Diddy Tape” Rumors

Tyrese says supporters of Donald Trump are responsible for spreading a false rumor about himself being in explicit videos with Diddy. He addressed the situation during a recent rant on Instagram Live, earlier this week. The rumors come after authorities arrested Diddy on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering, back in September.

“There is no such thing as a Diddy tape, literally,” Tyrese said. “I wanna tell y’all that I’ve been to some of the most legendary parties, I got no regrets. If you’re from L.A. and you’ve been to these parties, you would know that Diddy always had the most legendary parties that were always star-studded. I got plenty of photos, proudly, like every other celebrity and star that went to his party. Anybody who’s not on the internet talking about a Diddy party—you should be more concerned about them, allegedly, about what they did or what they on tape doing.”

“There is no such thing allegedly as a Tyrese-Diddy tape,” Tyrese concluded. “That is a bunch of Donald Trump n****s in my comments, trying to discourage me from speaking up and speaking out.” Diddy has already pleaded not guilty to the charges and has consistently denied any wrongdoing amid the countless allegations he’s faced. However, he remains behind bars in Brooklyn while awaiting trial, which is expected to commence in May 2025.

Tyrese Addresses The Rumors

The trolling from Donald Trump supporters comes after Tyrese endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. She ended up losing handily to Trump, who will now take over the presidency in January. Oprah Winfrey Shuts Down Rumor Kamala Harris Paid Her $1 Million For Endorsement

Oprah Winfrey has shut down the rumors that Kamala Harris offered her $1 million to endorse her in the 2024 presidential election. Taking to Instagram, this week, the longtime supporter of the Democratic party explained her decision to support Harris and how it came about.

“Thank you so much for saying this,” she wrote in response to a fan taking her side. “I want to high five you and give you a hug. Usually I am reluctant to respond to rumors in general, but these days I realize that if you don’t stop a lie, it just gets bigger. I was not paid a dime. My time and energy was my way of supporting the campaign. For the live-streaming event in September, my production company Harpo was asked to bring in set design, lights, cameras, microphones, crew, producers, and every other item necessary (including the benches and chairs we sat on) to put on a live production. I did not take any personal fee. However the people who worked on that production needed to be paid. And were. End of story.”

The rumors about bribing Oprah come amid reports that the Harris campaign spent over $1 billion in its loss to Donald Trump. Two sources for Politico’s Christopher Cadelago recently claimed the campaign is at least $20 million in debt as well.

Oprah Winfrey Endorses Kamala Harris

Harris conceded the election to Trump after losing every swing state. It’s unclear if she intends to compete again in 2028, when she’ll likely have to campaign against Pete Buttigieg, Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, JB Pritzker, and more in a primary. Plies Wants Fans To Stop “Wasting Time” Complaining About The Election

Plies is not someone typically associated with politics. At least, when it comes to his music. The rapper spent most of his career making love songs, party songs, or some myriad of both. He decided to break from his musical persona on November 11, however. The rapper, who was a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris, broke his silence on the outcome of the recent U.S. presidential election. He was not happy with the results, but he had a constructive message for fans.

Plies hopped on Twitter to offer some advice. The rapper believed that anybody who was complaining about the U.S. election results was simply wasting their time. “Stop wasting your time telling people what they’re about to get the next four years,” he asserted. “If you haven’t learned anything else, u should’ve learned people will make themselves believe anything they want.” Plies didn’t limit his advice to calling out his fans, however. He claimed that a better way to spend the upcoming presidential term is to just focus on the things one can control in their own lives.

Plies Suggested That Fans Focus On Themselves

“Let people live their life good or bad,” Plies posited. “Focus your energy on u & yours.” This passionate statement was actually the culmination of a Twitter rant that the rapper embarked on this Veteran’s Day. He previously blamed the end of “normality” on social media. He also lamented the belief that extremism has become the go-to stance on practically every talking point in today’s world. “The more extreme u are the better,” he angrily tweeted. “These are the times we’re living in if u not extreme u not popular.” This is not the first time the rapper has vented his frustrations via social media.

Plies was fuming right after Kamala Harris lost the election to Donald Trump. He posted a video on Instagram in which he claimed that “character” is no longer an important factor in electing leaders. “One thing this election did teach me, something that [Trump] knew… character no longer matters,” he noted. “All the dark- and the things he’s said, he knew people wanted that. This whole notion of ‘America, this is not who we are,’ no, this is exactly who we are.” We’re sure that Plies will have more to say in the months to follow.

Kamala Harris’ Campaign Blew Over $1 Billion In Massive Loss To Donald Trump

Kamala Harris’ campaign reportedly spent over $1 billion financing her massive loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Two sources for Politico’s California bureau chief Christopher Cadelago say the campaign is at least $20 million in debt after the unsuccessful spending cycle. Despite the huge amounts of money, she still ended up losing every swing state to Trump, who will now retake the presidency in January.

“We spent money in stupid ways because we had a really bad strategy,” a former consultant to the DNC told Puck’s Tara Palmeri, as caught by The New Republic. “Instead of owning any mistakes, or being transparent about the voter data and strategies that were so obviously wrong, they shut off their Twitter account and are patting each other on the back. We dug out of a deep hole but not enough.” Harris hosted major rallies across the country featuring numerous celebrities in the months leading up to the election. She also paid for several media advertisements.

Kamala Harris Holds A Rally In Atlanta

When The Neighborhood Talk shared the report on Instagram on Monday, supporters of the Vice President came to her defense. “SHE ALSO HAD 107 DAYS, she had to do more. She was never playing on an equal playing field from the jump. She didn’t have an entire year in the primaries to campaign for POTUS. She had the tail end of the presidential campaign. And still got over 71 million votes, to his 74 million votes. Her campaign was a lot more stressed. In the short amount of time she had I think she did amazing,” one user wrote. Another added: “She knew she had to work harder/spend more as a female minority candidate … that’s it. that’s all.”

Harris ended up conceding the election to Trump on November 6th. Looking ahead to 2028, she’ll likely have to compete with Pete Buttigieg, Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, JB Pritzker, and other popular politicians on the left for the Democratic primary. Be on the lookout for further updates on Kamala Harris on HotNewHipHop.
