‘Them’ Season 2 First Look Photos of Prime Video’s Horror Anthology Series Starring Deborah Ayorinde, Luke James and Pam Grier

Prime Video has been making us all wait for Season 2 of their horror anthology series, Them. Now, the wait is over, as the streamer just revealed first-look photos for the new season, which they’re calling Them: The Scare. Notably, the first season aired in 2021.

The scares, pun intended, jump off with an April 25 premiere, dropping all eight episodes. Speaking of jumping, Them: The Scare time jumps from 1952 Compton to 1991 for the newest installment of the anthology series. What’s important about this year in Los Angeles history is that the notorious L.A. Riots resulting from the Rodney King beating will occur a year later. Interesting.

Prime Video says the series will bring back Deborah Ayorinde to star. As reported by Shadow and Act, “she’s playing an LAPD homicide detective whose new case brings her up close to something much worse than she can imagine.”

Here’s the official synopsis:

THEM will once again be set in Los Angeles (the first installment, subtitled Covenant, took place in Compton circa 1952 but will move the time frame forward to 1991). The story centers on LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve, who is assigned to a new case: the gruesome murder of a foster home mother that has left even the most hardened detectives shaken. Navigating a tumultuous time in Los Angeles, with a city on the razor’s edge of chaos, Dawn is determined to stop the killer. But as she draws closer to the truth, something ominous and malevolent grips her and her family…

Legendary actress Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and Luke James will also star in the new season.

Here’s what Little Marvin, creator/executive producer/showrunner of the series, said regarding how Los Angeles in the 1990s will set the stage for a new horror story about race and social commentary. “With THEM: The Scare, we wanted to combine our love of horror with a look at Los Angeles’s rich history and evolution,” he said. “This second installment is a new story set in the 90’s, one of the most iconic decades for film, music and fashion, particularly in Los Angeles. I’m also excited about our amazing cast: Deborah Ayorinde returns as a completely new character, Luke James delivers an unforgettable performance and the legendary Pam Grier, who has played so many iconic and beloved roles on screen, makes her return to horror…. We couldn’t have asked for a more fearless group to lead this second installment.”

The cast is set to include Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, Wayne Night, Carlito Olivero, Charles Brice, and Iman Shumpert. Vertigo Entertainment’s Miri Yoon and Roy Lee are executive producing with Little Marvin alongside Steve Prinz.

Here are the first-look photos below, as reported by Shadow and Act:

JT’s Nip Slip On Instagram Live Is Her Latest Wardrobe Malfunction

Being a City Girl isn’t always easy, but if there’s anyone cut out for the job, it’s JT and Yung Miami. The rap divas have been notably pouring their energy into separate creative endeavours for the time being after finally unleashing their joint RAW album last fall. For her part, Caresha is focusing on her Yams Era. Elsewhere, Jatavia is heading out on her first-ever solo tour soon, which she’s very eager to share with the world.

Ahead of her first show on March 23rd, the Florida native has been going Live on Instagram to check in with fans. We were certainly happy to see JT’s beautiful face this week. Unfortunately for her, that’s not all that was on display for those tuning in. As XXL reports, the “Sideways” artist suffered a wardrobe malfunction on Monday (March 11), accidentally flashing her nipple to anyone paying close enough attention.

After spending a few years under the scrutiny of the public eye, JT is no stranger to showing more than audiences bargained for. At the 2022 Billboard Music Awards she infamously went viral when the crotch area of her gown was exposed. “I have on black panties, relax!” she tweeted at the time, brushing off the gossip swirling about her online. Regardless, some asserted that they saw more than the fashionista’s underwear, despite her total denial.

As embarrassing as it can be to accidentally expose yourself in front of thousands of viewers, JT has no choice but to keep it moving as she embarks on her first solo tour. Femcees are no stranger to harsh critics, and the City Girl had the perfect clapback for haters insulting the venues she’ll be performing at this spring. Read all about that at the link below, and if you’re seeking out the NSFW clip of JT, it’s not hard to hunt down on Twitter/X.

JT Teases Nicki Minaj With Raunchy Twitter Response

There was speculation about whether Nicki Minaj would be able to deliver everything she’s been promising on her Pink Friday 2 Tour. So far, however, the mother of one has left audiences more than impressed, and all the videos circulating online prove that she does have her Barbz gagged with her latest work. Amid performances, Minaj has still found time to be active on social media, recently posting with her husband, Kenneth Petty on Instagram Live. Elsewhere, she sent out a tweet with some lyrics from her new album for fans to finish, but JT of City Girls couldn’t resist the opportunity to make a joke.

“Ain’t never had a,” the Trinidadian wrote on Twitter/X, referencing the 116, Apollo Parker, Fierce, and Boi-1da-produced “Pink Birthday.” The song is in the eighth slot on Minaj’s PF2 tracklist, and the bars she was referencing go, “Ain’t never had a ill b**ch ’til now / Post a pic, got him jackin’ like Jill now / Break the internet at will now” before launching into the infectious chorus.

JT Says Her Sexual Health is Clean and Clear

For her part, JT took the opportunity to let her Twitter followers know that she’s never had an STD, or sexually transmitted disease. “Failed Nicki trivia!!! Cut her mic off 😭😭😭😭😭,” one Barb joked beneath today’s post. “Well, that is something to be proud of ngl,” another person praised the femcee.

If Nicki Minaj has seen JT’s unexpected response to her tweet, she’s made no public indication at this time. Rather, the Queen of Rap has been busy responding to comedian Katt Williams, who cracked a joke about joining her on her Gag City Tour. Before kicking things off in Oakland this month, she made it known she wanted the icon to join her and Monica, and it’s only becoming more obvious how eager Minaj is to make her dreams come true. Lil Uzi Vert Deactivates Their Social Media

Lil Uzi Vert fans who are still hoping for a follow-up to last year’s Pink Tape just got a mixed message from the rapper. After staying pretty silent the past few months, they recently got even more silent when they deactivated both their Instagram and Twitter accounts. As far as fans can tell the accounts aren’t deleted, just deactivated so they can return at a later date. While a social media shift can often be the first sign of new music from many artists, fans aren’t exactly holding their breath here.

Lil Uzi Vert has repeatedly made and then failed to follow-up on numerous promises about new music. They began shortly after the release of Pink Tape last year. First they announced LUV Is Rage 3 as a deluxe version of Pink Tape. It’s similar to how they dropped Eternal Atake immediately followed by LUV vs. The World 2. That album never materialized though. Likely because Uzi shifted their focus to a new Young Thug-tributing album they announced later. That project was called Barter 16 and was said to be executive produced by Thugger collaborator London On Da Track. Despite claims that the album had been turned into the label, it never materialized.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Social Media Disappears

Lil Uzi Vert had a relatively quiet 2024 so far. Much of the discussion has been about their relationship with City Girls rapper JT. The pair have been dating for a while now but issues started to emerge last year. For a moment a few months ago the pair unfollowed each other on social media. Afterwards Uzi confessed that their relationship wasn’t in the best place.

That’s why many fans have jumped to the conclusion that this newest social media wipe could have something to do with JT. What do you think of Lil Uzi Vert deleting their social media? Do you think it could be a sign that they’re moving into a new era? Let us know in the comment section below.

City Girls’ JT Unveils Solo Power with Release of “Sideways” Single

City Girls' JT Unveils Solo Power with Release of "Sideways" Single

Today marks a significant milestone for JT of the acclaimed hip-hop duo City Girls, as she drops the record and accompanying video for her latest solo track, “Sideways” (Quality Control Music/Motown). Following the triumph of her previous solo single, “No Bars,” which achieved over 100,000 sales and 30.2 million streams, “Sideways” sets the stage for JT’s upcoming solo EP.

“I’m excited about dropping solo music because I can focus more on my creativity. I love everything about being an artist!” she says. “I just wanna chill, look good and drop pretty cocky bitch music. I’m the City Cinderella!”

As one-half of City Girls alongside Yung Miami, JT’s venture into solo work signals a bold new chapter in her career as she asserts her individuality and artistic prowess. Fans can expect “Sideways” to be a dynamic glimpse into JT’s evolving musical journey and a teaser for what’s to come in her promising solo career.

“Sideways is a mood! Sometimes women are forced to be friends with everyone and if we decide to stay to our self they call us mean,” she says. “Most of these b*tches nosey & phony! I love my b*tches though, the real ones. Shout out to the real b*tches!”

JT Isn’t Here For Haters Coming At Her ‘Sideways’ On Her New Solo Single

JT of City Girls is continuing a run of solo bangers. Tonight (February 2), she shared her new single, “Sideways.”

The track features JT establishing herself as a solo act, while still repping the Miami rap duo. Like on her previously released track, “No Bars,” JT maintains her energy, while riding the beat with energy.

“B*tch, I ain’t friendly, I don’t f*ck with y’all b*tches / Tryna take who? It ain’t enough of y’all b*tches / Hoes so phony got me lookin’ at ’em sideways / It’ll never be the same, motherf*cker, old days,” she raps on the song’s chorus.

Over the years, JT has been known to add a punch to City Girls tracks. Her chemistry with her bandmate Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee is undeniable. But with “Sideways,” as well as upcoming solo songs, JT aims to make herself a rapper of her own accord. Perhaps a solo album or mixtape may soon be on the way, as she lays the groundwork for longevity.

“‘Sideways’ is a song not a verse,” said JT in a statement, “and in 2024 I want to go from ‘JT has good verses!’ to ‘JT make good songs!’”

You can see the video for “Sideways” above.

JT Unveils New Single, Its Cover Art, & Release Date

At the beginning of January, JT, of the femcee rap duo City Girls, hinted at a single on her Twitter account. “Sideways is a song not a verse & in 2024 I want to go from ‘JT has good verses!’ to ‘JT make good songs !!’” It is always exciting to hear artists want to constantly improve and change the narrative around them. Many people had a lot of negative things to say about RAW, the City Girls’ most recent full-length. Low first-week sales in the single digits dug the hole deeper for them to crawl out of.

However, one bright spot from that record was JT’s solo song “No Bars.” A high-octane banger that was all gas and no brakes. In addition to that, fans were eager to hear what she could do as a solo artist. Especially with an R&B snippet that surfaced and some karaoke raps as well. It seems that the proclamation we referred to at the beginning is going to be the start of this new era for JT.
