Cardi B Admits She ‘Hated’ Living In Atlanta Amid Divorce From Offset
Best Songs On Travis Scott’s ‘Days Before Rodeo,’ Ranked
Travis Scott’s breakthrough mixtape Days Before Rodeo has arrived to DSPs ten years after its release, and fans have been delighted to traipse down Memory Lane with the star making project — or delve into it in full for the first time after projects like Astroworld and Utopia have made Scott into a household name.
So, how does this collection of songs stack up to each other after ten years? Let’s take a swing at ranking the 12 songs from Days Before Rodeo to find out which one is the best.
12. “Zombies”
Let’s get this out of the way up front: Travis Scott has always been a case of style over substance, and he’s never exactly been the greatest rapper. While usually, his production is enough to mask the relative lack of punch provided by his more clichéd lines, “Zombies” is the weakest track on Days Before… because it skimps on the strongest aspect of Scott’s whole thing, pairing uninspired boasts with an absolutely plodding beat that makes it a total slog.
11. “Basement Freestyle”
Like “Zombies,” “Basement Freestyle” makes the misstep of drawing focus to Scott’s raps (calling it a “freestyle” is the largest factor in this), only this time, it wastes (or makes use of, depending on where you stand) a compelling — if a bit repetitive — beat from Metro Boomin and Lex Luger.
10. “BACC”
Travis is at his least convincing when he’s trying to convince us he’s a tough guy. This disconnect between the posturing of the hook (“Cuzzo back on the block, he back servin’ birdies”) and the empty boasts of the only verse causes the bonus track to fall a bit flat.
9. “Days Before Rodeo: The Prayer”
Days Before Rodeo starts out pretty strong, all things considered, but its mostly inspired intro, which has a fun Wondagurl beat built around a slick breakbeat sample, quickly disintegrates toward the end. Meanwhile, some of its motifs get repeated throughout the album, to diminishing returns.
8. “Don’t Play” Feat. The 1975 & Big Sean
The only feature-heavy song in the bottom half of the ranking, there’s something discordant about the pairings here; perhaps the high-art indie-rock nod provided by The 1975 doesn’t live up to similar cross-genre collaborations of the time period, while Big Sean’s energized performance overshadows Travis’ efforts to match his fellow Kanye co-writer.
7. “Quintana Pt. 2”
An uncredited appearance from Travis’ early benefactor T.I. once again exposes the flaws in Scott’s fundamentals, proving more effective with a well-worn old-man game than the Houston rapper’s more contemporary melodic approach. The fact that it sounds like the Scarface theme can be a plus or a minus, depending on how you feel about that particular gangster epic. The fact that T.I.’s verse was removed from the streaming version somehow ends up hurting more than helps, leaving behind a void that makes the latter half of the song drag.
6. “Sloppy Toppy” Feat. Migos & Peeway Longway
The first 20 seconds of this song promise a departure that the rest of it never really pays off, but nods to the soulful intro sample throughout the beat offered by producers Southside, AudioKlique, and C Gutta provide enough interesting things in the background to keep this one from ever eating its tail, while Migos delivers one of the signature performances that made them such an in-demand feature artist at the time — especially Takeoff (RIP!).
5. “Grey”
You can hear the seeds of Travis’ future hit “Pick Up The Phone” in this one, while his pen game takes a step up — not a massive one, mind you, but enough to make the imagery feel a bit more vivid, believable, and compelling. The second verse offers the sort of autobiographical detailing that Travis’ music could stand to use a lot more of.
4. “Mamacita” Feat. Rich Homie Quan & Young Thug
Long live Rich Gang. Quan and Thug were on one hell of a run in 2013-14, and their presence brings out something in Travis — perhaps not his “best,” but certainly a bit of energy that the rest of his catalog could stand to include. Thugger’s verse stings especially hard when you consider how long and hard he worked to get to the point of So Much Fun and Punk, only for the state to justify his “I don’t f*ck with America” statement, albeit for a different reason than he meant back then.
3. “Backyard”
One of the few songs on Days Before Rodeo that tries something different, its placement toward the end of the tracklist provides a burst of optimism in an apocalyptic sonic wasteland. Lyrically, it finds Travis being vulnerable again (“Every summer felt so cold, my daddy ain’t comin’ home ’til fall / That’s why my pimp game’s so moist, had that du-rag and all”), which is the best version of him. He’s got an interesting story, it’d be nice if he told it more.
2. “Skyfall” Feat. Young Thug
Ignore the first 10 seconds, which sound like we’re about to set sail on the high seas with a hold full of rum and an eye on the horizon. In fact, skip the entire first minute. That’s how good the rest of this one actually is: it’s the second-best track on the project, despite the first fifth being entirely skippable. Scott’s cautionary warning to aging artists, who even then were decrying the changing sound of hip-hop, still resonates, and his chemistry with Young Thug begins to solidify here.
1. “Drugs You Should Try It”
The undisputed fan favorite from the project, “Drugs…” features Travis Scott at the height of his powers — higher, even. The fact that this exists makes one wonder why he doesn’t push himself like this all the time. “Drugs as a metaphor for romantic feelings” is a concept as old as songs, drugs, and romance, but Travis Scott’s hazy approach to songwriting lends itself especially well to the trope, which buoys the substance of his songwriting to actually match the style. He’s flashed great moments like this since, but this one certainly left the most outsized impact.
Cardi B Admits She Hated Living In Atlanta As Offset Divorce Develops
Cardi B has revealed a little more details about her relationship with Offset amid their divorce, and this time around, it concerns their living situation. Moreover, you may have already heard that Pooh Shiesty jumped on this news quick and thirsted after the Bronx femcee. This even led to an apparent response from the former Migo, but regardless, their actual dynamic is not as contentious as this would have you believe. Still, she recently admitted via Instagram Live on Thursday (August 22) that she never liked living in Atlanta, as she felt very lonely. Also, Cardi explained why she’s currently apartment-hunting in New York.
“Right now, I’m in the city, and I need to go take a shower,” Cardi B expressed, sharing that she’s tired of having to use her engineer’s gym’s bathroom or rent hotels to shower. “I’m going to be coming to have meetings with my label like twice a week. And on top of that, I’m trying to get an office out here. I don’t live in Atlanta, I have a house in Atlanta. I only go to Atlanta like three or four times a year. And probably I go for a week, maybe less. I tried to move to Atlanta in 2018 and I lived there for like six months. And I hated it. I don’t have not one friend in Atlanta, and I don’t have not even one family member in Atlanta. So I just don’t like Atlanta.”
Cardi B Admits She Hated Living In Atlanta
As such, it seems like this New York search doesn’t have anything to do with her divorce from Offset, but rather prepping for her next album and next child. Fans have been waiting for the project for a very long time, and we still don’t know exactly when we can expect it to be in our hands. Nevertheless, Cardi B is very excited to show the Bardi Gang what she has in store. She certainly has a lot of topics to address these days, so we’ll see if they appear on wax as well.
Meanwhile, Cardi B said she’s “comfortable” in New York and that she lives in her New Jersey home with her children. But elsewhere, other fans care less about the family drama and more about some rap beef speculation. She seemed to ask folks to not mention Nicki Minaj and JT during an Instagram Live session, responding directly to a fan who explicitly mentioned them. We’ll see if 2024 holds any more diss tracks than what we already got.

Doechii Shares “BOOM BAP” One Week Ahead Of Her Upcoming Mixtape
It’s a shame that Doechii doesn’t get as much press as some of the other ladies in hip-hop. She might put the blinders on when it comes to that, but we know that she’s a true superstar in the making. It might have to do with the fact that she just doesn’t have as much material as some of her competitors. Heck, even her past EP-like projects have no more than 9 songs on them. However, that is all going to come to an end soon. Next Friday, August 30, the feisty Florida femcee will be sharing a new mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal. To promote the project, Doechii is dropping off a new single from it, “BOOM BAP”.
Like previous promo cuts, “BOOM BAP” is another release under Doechii’s Swamp Session series on YouTube. Past inclusions are “BULLFROG”, “CATFISH”, and “NISSAN ALTIMA”. The release date was announced about a week and a half ago and Doechii is looking forward to showing audiences a different side of Florida hip-hop. “I wanted to take my audience to the swamp. Not a lot of people see that very country Florida environment like that… So, I wanted to take them out of the city and show them a country aesthetic”.
A slice of that “aesthetic” is “BOOM BAP”. It’s a well-executed, multi-faceted track that sees Doechii go from “real rap” to a bouncier, house-like vibe about halfway through. This song is essentially a middle finger to those who think she can only create aggressive rap tracks. It’s done to perfection and its building our anticipation for next week.

Judge Dismisses Charges Against Two Former Cops Involved In Breonna Taylor’s Murder
The Breonna Taylor case just got a massive update, as federal U.S. District Court Judge Charles Simpson reportedly dismissed charges against two former police officers involved in the raid on her house in which cops murdered her. Former detective Joshua Jaynes and former officer Kyle Meany were charged with “submitting a false affidavit” back in 2022, which is what prompted the raid in the first place. Also, they faced accusations of fabricating a “false cover story in an attempt to escape responsibility for their roles” in designing the search warrant with “false information.” These initial charges reportedly could’ve resulted in life sentences. According to TMZ, neither officer was there during the raid.
Furthermore, on Thursday (August 22), Judge Simpson reportedly claimed that this search warrant did not cause Breonna Taylor’s death. Rather, Simpson attributed her murder to her boyfriend Kenneth Walker and how he shot at officers, and characterized this as the “legal cause” of her death. “There is no direct link between the warrantless entry and Taylor’s death,” the ruling reportedly reads. “Taylor’s death was proximately caused by the manner in which the warrant was executed.

“[Kenneth Walker’s] decision to open fire, as alleged and argued, was the natural and probable consequence of executing the warrant at 12:45 a.m. on ‘an unsuspecting household,’” the ruling reportedly continued concerning Breonna Taylor. “That decision prompted the return fire, which hit and killed Taylor.” Per TMZ, former detective Jaynes still faces “two counts of falsification of records, conspiracy to falsify records, and witness tampering” charges in this case. On the other hand, Meany faces “one charge of [making a] false statement to federal investigators.” He and Jaynes could serve up to five and 40 years respectively if found guilty.
“Louisville police is different,” EST Gee shared last year. “You know how n***as teach them to not like the police? I don’t want to say his name. He was involved in the Breonna Taylor s**t, one of the police officers. When I was little, he walked [into] a group of us home at gunpoint, on my granny. She lived in Turtle Creek. One of the dudes from the Breonna Taylor [murder]. So I had my own experience early. The police, they ain’t never helped me.”

GloRilla’s R-Word Use In New Song Snippet Sparks Heated Debate
It’s been a wildly successful year for GloRilla. Unfortunately, however, the femcee has now found herself at the center of a serious debate. Earlier this week, she took to social media to tease an upcoming track, and one lyric in particular caught the attention of listeners. “Me and my b*tch r******d,” she raps.
According to the Special Olympics, the R-word is a form of hate speech, which can be extremely offensive to those with intellectual disabilities or their loved ones. Social media users are now weighing in on GloRilla’s use of the word on X, revealing whether or not they believe it’s acceptable. While most agree that it’s not, others argue that it’s not a big deal, as long as it’s not used to describe someone who actually has an intellectual disability.

GloRilla Fans React To Her Latest Preview
“Why are we still using the R-word in 2024? I can’t get with this one,” an X user writes. “Ion like that R-word so it’s a no for me,” someone else says. Others are coming to GloRilla’s defense, insisting she didn’t have bad intentions. “Generation too damn weak and sensitive,” one fan claims, a sentiment echoed by many. For those who don’t recall, a similar debate was sparked back in 2022 over a lyric on Lizzo’s track “Grrrls.”
Disability advocate and writer Hannah Diviney called the performer out for her use of the term “spaz,” which is considered offensive in the UK to those who are disabled. Ultimately, she decided to change the lyrics and released a lengthy statement explaining why. “I never want to promote derogatory language,” she said in part. “As a fat Black woman in America, I’ve had many hurtful words used against me so I understand the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case unintentionally).” What do you think of GloRilla sparking a huge debate with her latest song preview? Do you think people need to stop using the R-word in 2024? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Lil Yachty Crashes Out On Karrahbooo & Mitch In Explosive IG Live Rant: Unpacking The Beef
Lil Yachty’s Concrete Boys crew might not be as solid as he thought. That’s especially the case after the rapper hopped on Instagram Live on Thursday night to air out his associates and signees. Despite pledging to stay off the internet for the remainder of the year, Yachty is still keeping tabs on social media narratives, whether or not they are true.
In the late hours of Thursday night, Lil Yachty went on a full-blown rant on Instagram Live where he aired out Karrahbooo for alleged comments she made about her split from Concrete Boys to a Red Lobster employee. Sounds crazy, right? Unfortunately, it didn’t end there as Yachty shifted his fury toward his best friend and A Safe Space co-host Mitch for not defending him against a random Twitter user claiming that the Atlanta rapper is a bad friend. A lot unravelled over a few hours so here’s everything you need to know about the beef so far.
Karrahbooo’s Departure From Concrete Boys
Before we delve into last night’s shenanigans, it’s important to highlight the beginning of this issue. In late July, fans speculated that Karrahbooo left the crew after fans found that she unfollowed her labelmates. Though it was initially rumors, the “Poland” star confirmed that she was, in fact, not a part of the collective anymore. “I’ma say this sh*t one time,” Yachty said on Instagram Live. “We have split ways with Karrah as far as this Concrete sh*t. I have nothing to say. Nothing bad to say, nothing negative to say about Karrah. I wish her the best in her career. That’s that. … I don’t have anything really bad to say or anything good to say. We just split, you know?”
Friction On The Timeline
It turns out that Yachty had plenty of negative things to say that were weighing on his chest. He just needed something minor to trigger the emotions that had been bottled up. The issues with Karrahbooo seemingly took a turn for the worse after an alleged Red Lobster employee claimed that Karrah pulled up to the restaurant when she was asked about leaving Concrete.
“Bro she walked in my job (red lobster) to order biscuits and I asked her why she left and she immediately corrected me and said I didn’t leave they kicked me out,” user @C_Staxxz wrote. “Saying they were really mean to her and bullying her a lot.” The user then added her own speculation to the mix, writing, “She seemed really hurt behind ts tbh like they really did her dirty and i believe its because her name was the biggest behind yachty if we being real I only started listening to him again because of her. They’re haters and i told her she’ll do just fine without them. F*ck em.” She also added a photo with Karrahbooo to corroborate that the rapper did pull up to Red Lobster.
Mind you, Karrahbooo herself didn’t mention anything on the Internet, and much of the tweet was primarily speculation. Plus, no one can really verify whether Karrah said these things. Ultimately, there’s clearly tension between the two, and neither particularly wanted to spill into the public eye.
The Mitch Situation Unfolds
Just a day before this tweet regarding Karrah emerged, A Safe Space released a new episode alongside Key Glock who witnessed Yachty violating his co-host, Mitch. In a clip that circulated across X/Twitter, Yachty took credit for Mitch’s success, going as far as claiming his co-host wouldn’t have anything going in life it weren’t for him. Glock kept mum throughout the segment. However, a fan clipped that part of the episode and wrote, “Lil Yachty disrespecting his friend in front of Key Glock.” At the time of writing, the clip gained 9.7M views while a repost of the clip siding with Mitch garnered 901K.
“Mitch. Lil Yachty is not your homie. There’s a time and place to have these conversations. Not on a podcast in front of millions of people to dissect and observe. This is lame as f*ck,” the tweet read. “Don’t do favors for people and then hold it over their head. That’s foul as f*ck.”

Lil Yachty Pulls Receipts On Karrahbooo
Yachty laid it all out during his Instagram Live last night, beginning with Karrahbooo, who he claimed was verbally abusive, entitled, and lacked any rap skills His explosive rant initially denied claims that she was bullied before pivoting over to her catalog of music, which he said he wrote entirely and even provided receipts. “I slowed the beat down, I put 808s specifically on your verse so when it got to your part and the beat dropped, everyone would be like, ‘this girl is the craziest one,” he said in reference to her debut freestyle on On The Radar. He later shared the reference track to back his claim.
“I wrote every f*cking verse you’ve done… I dressed you. I dressed all five of y’all n***as bro. I dressed five n***as every time we stepped out the house. I put an outfit on everybody. I put eight carats of earrings on everybody ear. I put three chains on all y’all neck,” he continued. “I changed your mother f*cking life and you are here lying, talking about some: ‘We bully you’… That shit got me f*cked up, bro. You got me f*cked up, bro. You disrespectful, bro. You talk to people crazy. You tell people that they are nothing. You tell people you’re going to spit on them. You tell people they poor and you talk to my f*cking label crazy. You claim I was stealing money.” He also alleged that she put Concrete $900K in the hole and he never recouped on his investment.
Mitch Catches Strays
Quite frankly, this aspect of the entire rant didn’t paint Yachty in the best light. Once again, the powers of social media broke Yachty completely as he bashed Mitch for failing to address random social media users criticizing him. In fact, Yachty’s emotions completely took control of him to the point where he decided to cancel their podcast abruptly. First, he explained that Mitch approached him to do a podcast, which Yachty obliged, in order to help his co-host and friend build a platform.
“I ain’t want to do no motherf*cking podcast n***a, I’m a f*cking rapper… I put $400,000 in Mitch pocket,” he said. “I ain’t f*ckin’ with Mitch, bro. I been sleep all day, I wake up to this crazy sh*t. I say, ‘Mitch, how the f*ck you ain’t go on the internet and tell these folks that we playin’, bruh?’” According to Boat, Mitch downplayed the situation, allegedly claiming, “It’s Twitter, bruh. You know how they is.” Yachty then cussed out Mitch for not defending him on the Internet against strangers and subsequently decided to cancel the podcast. “All I do is help people, bruh. I don’t get nothing from none of this sh*t,” Yachty added.
Mitch Clears The Air
In a series of tweets, Mitch finally addressed the narrative surrounding his relationship with Boat. “please don’t let that clip misguide you it doesn’t represent me and yachty’s friendship at all we joke around pretty harsh sometimes too much fr sometimes but irl it’s nothing but respect and love i can’t even get on here and act like it’s not,” he said.
Later, he made it clear that he has always had his own thing going on, even before meeting Lil Yachty. “i ain’t nobody lil bro never been check my history i had stats before i met bro and got even more now, all i ever wanted to do was just focus on the music and being involved in the culture in a positive way i hope none of this hinders that,” he wrote.
Lil Yachty Clashes With Mitch’s Ex/Cousin?
Though it seemed like the dust had settled, a new party entered the chat: Mitch’s supposed ex, Camille. Sharing a voice note to social media, she slammed Yachty for his alleged treatment of Mitch over the years. “Like, I been telllin’ Mitch you’re a bogus ass n***a. I been sayin’ that sh*t ‘cause you are. You are a bogus ass n***a,” she said. Then, she threatened to pull out receipts backing up everything she said.
In response, Yachty quickly tweeted and deleted a voice note refuting her claims. While Camille claimed that Mitch took on a managerial role for Yachty and often had to be in meetings, Yachty said that his co-host had been lying to her the whole time. He went on to say that Mitch only used Camille for a place to stay before revealing that she was, in fact, the cousin that Mitch claimed to have slept with during an episode of A Safe Space podcast. She later fired back on Twitter Spaces.

Tory Lanez Grabs His First Feature For The Latest Prison Tapes Installment Of “580 Benz” & “Rodeo Drive”
Tory Lanez is doing a couple of firsts this time around for his weekly “Prison Tapes Playlist”. Usually, the Brampton, Ontario native is giving us Lost Tapes or tracks recorded behind bars. For week number eight, we are getting one of the latter, that being “580 Benz”, and a “Twitch Tapes”, which is “Rodeo Drive”. According to Genius, “Rodeo Drive” was recorded on a live stream on the popular platform back on May 8, 2022. These “Twich Tapes” aren’t anything new necessarily, however, this is the first of its kind to see an official release. Also shaking things up a bit is the first cut we mentioned, “580 Benz”. Tory Lanez and his production team were able to coordinate a feature for this record.
That guest is HollywoodSos another Canadian rapper who appears to have some affiliation with Lanez’s independent label, One Umbrella Records. “First person I’m ever gonna feature on a prison tape is my older brother @itshollywoodsos”. He could just be talking about a friend, but if this is a family member, that’s a cool moment for Tory. However, after that part of the caption on his IG Story, Lanez posed a question to his fans. “Who else should I feature on these prison tapes?”. People were quick to give some suggestions on social media and a lot of them are previous collaborators. One user replies, “We need Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Trippie Redd, Yoko Gold, a boogie features”. What do you think? Be sure to leave your thoughts below and check out “580 Benz” and “Rodeo Drive” with the links.

Jennifer Lopez Hilariously Picks Between Diddy & Ben Affleck In Resurfaced Clip
The divorce between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck was written on the wall for many, but it still came as a shock to the believers. Moreover, so much ink spilled on social media over their dynamic, whether it was their public outings or the salacious details in some of her newer releases. Another talked-about part of J. Lo’s romantic life these days is her association with Diddy, which took disturbing new context after his various criminal lawsuits and accusations. But it turns out that she already compared the two during a resurfaced Big Boy interview, as she had a hilarious copout when asked to pick between them.
Furthermore, Big Boy asked Jennifer Lopez whether or not she’d save Diddy or Affleck from open water if she only had one space on her raft. “I’d let both of those motherf***ers drown!” she exclaimed amid raucous laughter from everyone in the room. Still, this doesn’t answer a lot of questions that fans have of the divorce or of her bond with the bad Boy mogul. For example, Suge Knight posited that her involvement in the Sean Combs tapes might have caused her split from the actor, which is a purely speculative theory.

Jennifer Lopez “Picks Between” Ben Affleck & Diddy
However, Jennifer Lopez also has some other alleged opps in the music industry, namely Mariah Carey. “Mariah is really excited to be getting back to Vegas and looking forward to proving she’s still at the top of the game when it comes to putting on a show and bringing in ticket sales,” an allegedly close source reportedly told In Touch. “She’s extra excited to show that she’s still got it after J. Lo had to go and cancel her concert tour. [She monitored this] very closely and took a lot of pleasure in seeing her fall on her face. She believes it’s karma biting her in the butt because she’s not as talented as she thinks and way too arrogant.”
Meanwhile, another alleged insider claimed that Ben Affleck wanted to divorce Jennifer Lopez because her fast lifestyle would bring him back to alcoholism. But apparently, she was the one who filed for the split most recently. As such, there is still a lot of murky water. We’ll see if any statements in the near future shed light on these relationships.
