Jennifer Lopez Cancels Several Tour Dates, Reports Indicate Low Ticket Sales

Jennifer Lopez hit a speed bump on her upcoming North American tour, her first in five years, in support of her new album This Is Me… Now. Moreover, she and her team canceled seven shows from August 20 to 31 in Cleveland (August 20), Nashville (22), Raleigh (24), Atlanta (25), Tampa (27), New Orleans (30), and Houston (31). Ticketmaster indicated these changes, and seating charts for these shows are apparently still available at press time. As such, reports from other outlets name low ticket sales as the reason for this change, but that is impossible to confirm without a statement from the singer or her team.

For those unaware, Jennifer Lopez’s new album was part of a larger multi-media rollout, which she reportedly funded entirely by herself. Furthermore, two visual projects were also a part of this last month: a musical film titled This Is Me… Now: A Love Story and The Greatest Love Story Never Told, a documentary on this album and project centered around her romantic rekindling with Ben Affleck. “Everybody thought I was cr*zy. And by the way, I thought I was cr*zy,” the New York City native recently told Variety during an interview. Whether you think that applies to her relationship or her career moves, she’s ready to take it all on.

Jennifer Lopez Cancels Tour Dates: Report

Still, seeing these canceled Jennifer Lopez tour dates is quite disappointing for fans, although second nights in Miami (June 29), Toronto (August 3), and New York (August 17) were added per a Live Nation announcement on Thursday (March 14). In addition, sources reportedly told Billboard that the canceled dates were due to routing issues, but that they added new dates and will announce them soon. It’s unclear if these new dates for the “Can’t Get Enough” superstar are the new Miami, Toronto, and New York dates or if the new dates will address the canceled shows themselves. We’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, even though not everyone loved the aforementioned single “Can’t Get Enough” with Latto, it’s still great to see the 54-year-old develop her career more and keep playing in the game. After all, superstardom and talent don’t go away easy. Let’s just hope that the rest of the tour goes swimmingly as planned. Moreover, This Is Me… Now is a follow-up to her 2002 LP This Is Me… Then, and also includes a visual component thanks to a documentary about the project. However, instead of commenting on any of this, a lot of people are instead focusing on some particularly NSFW lines that the Nuyorican icon seemingly had for her husband, actor Ben Affleck. They appear on the track “Greatest Love Story Never Told,” which is coincidentally the title of the aforementioned album doc, and they’re a doozy.

“Different roads, two lost souls / Never thought we’d find our way back,” Jennifer Lopez sings on the cut. “Could’ve lost what matters most / How could I live with that?” Later on is when things got particularly steamy for fans, though, to the point where it may be a little too on-the-nose for some. “Missing your body climbing on top of me, slippin’ inside of me / Way that I ride it, bodies aligning, look at our timing,” the Latto collaborator continued. “Forget about the world when we’re alone / Only thing that ever felt, felt like home.”

Jennifer Lopez Releases Trailer for New Album ‘This Is Me… Now’

Jennifer Lopez Teases Upcoming Beauty and Skincare Line

Jennifer Lopez is giving the latest tease of her upcoming album This Is Me… Now, the sequel to the 2002 album, This Is Me… Then. Her marriage to Ben Affleck heavily influences the album.

Hitting online, Lopez shared a trailer for the album, which will come in 2024.

Jennifer Lopez has entered a new recording and publishing contract; up next will be a new album.

According to Billboard, the forthcoming ninth studio album will feature 13 tracks. The album will come on Nuyorican/BMG. It will be Lopez’s first solo album in nine years. In 2022, she dropped off a soundtrack for Marry Me alongside Maluma.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with her and her team to release her first album in nearly a decade,” said Thomas Coesfeld, BMG’s CEO in a statement.

Thomas Scherer, BMG’s president of repertoire & marketing, added: “We are both excited and proud to partner with Jennifer Lopez on this long-awaited sequel to ‘This is Me… Then.’ Clearly written with love and through experience, ‘This Is Me..Now’ is uplifting and inspiring. ‘Jenny From The Block’ is back at a point in her career when her message is bigger than ever.”

In a recent performance Jennifer Lopez introduces her 14-year-old daughter Emme using the pronouns them/they.

On Thursday, Jennifer Lopez performed at Dodger Stadium for the sixth annual Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala. She was joined by her daughter, Emme, one of her twin children whom she’s performed with on stage before.

Before the performance began, she introduced Emme and used gender-neutral pronouns “they/them” multiple times.

“(The last time) we performed together was in big stadium like this, and I ask them to sing with me all the time but they won’t,” Jennifer Lopez said. “So this is a very special occasion, because they’re very, very busy and booked and pricey. They cost me when they come out, but they’re worth every single penny because they’re my favorite duet partner of all time. So if you would indulge me.”

After the news broke that J. Lo — who’s had a bit of fun with the celebrity gossip industrial complex on social media herself lately — had broken up with Alex Rodriguez, the peanut gallery got a huge chunk of fat to chew as the actress/singer was later seen out with former beau Ben Affleck. Not to be outdone or forgotten, though, Diddy made sure that followers would remember that before there was “Bennifer,” Diddy was the other half of a Lopez power couple — one that had its fair share of memorable moments.

Posting a photo of the two of them together with a #TBT (Throwback Thursday) hashtag, Diddy stirred up a veritable symphony of flabbergasted fan reactions wondering whether he was shooting his shot or just kicking up dust for the fun of it. For what it’s worth, for Puff to still be in the running after all these years, J. Lo would have to have forgiven him for getting her arrested after the infamous 1999 nightclub shooting that sent Shyne to prison for a decade and contributed to the couple’s breakup.
