Over the decades, Halloween’s meaning has changed drastically. Today, the holiday is largely about expressing creativity. For entertainers like Heidi Klum and Janelle Monáe, that sometimes means hours of prosthetic and special effects makeup. But they aren’t the only celebrities that take the day especially seriously.

This year, dozens of women rappers put their best efforts forward for some attention-grabbing looks. Continue below for a list of some of the rappers’ best looks (revealed so far).

Megan Thee Stallion

As the leader of Hottieween herself, Megan Thee Stallion sported several viral looks, including Teen Titans’ Starfire (which earned a co-sign from James Gunn). Meg also revealed her anime inspired costume as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s Trish Una (viewable here) online. But for her annual Hottieween charity party, she showed up as a genie (viewable here).

Scar Lip

To round things out, Scar Lip created a Halloween spread as Lauryn Hill (viewable here), re-creating several of the Grammy Award winner’s iconic photo shoots over the years.

Ice Spice Transforms Into A Playboy Bunny For Halloween Performance

Ice Spice never fails to turn heads with her Halloween costumes, and her latest Playboy-inspired look is certainly no exception. The Bronx-born rapper performed in the UK last night dressed as a shimmering black bunny, ensuring that all eyes were on her throughout the entire show. She complemented her outfit with her iconic chain, the new dark curly hairstyle she’s been rocking lately, and a pair of black boots.

She took to Instagram last night to share a series of photos from her latest performances, putting the eye-catching costume on full display. “Dublin 🇮🇪 manchester 🇬🇧 scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿,” she captioned the post. “Thank u so much for this incredible energy every night i love u i love u i love u #newmusicotw.” This isn’t the first Halloween costume Ice Spice has stunned in this season, however.

Ice Spice Celebrates Halloween In The UK

Over the weekend, she hopped online to unveil some photos of herself dressed as Milla Jovovich’s character Leeloo from The Fifth Element. She went all out with the costume, even recreating Leeloo’s Multipass to match, and social media users agreed that it was the perfect look for her. Fans are glad to see her having fun with her style and mixing things up, though this isn’t the first time she’s done so in recent weeks.

Last month, the “Bikini Bottom” artist also stepped out for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and shocked fans by debuting her new dark hair. It sparked mixed reactions at the time, as some missed her signature orange hairstyle. It appears as though she’s sticking with a more natural look for the time being, however, and fans are here for it. What do you think of Ice Spice’s Playboy bunny Halloween costume? Did it top her Fifth Element-inspired look or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

DJ Envy Under Fire For Daughter’s “Wildly Inappropriate” Lil Kim Costume

Photos of celebrities and their children’s Halloween costumes continue to roll in. One in particular, however, has social media users in an uproar. Yesterday, DJ Envy hopped online to share a clip of him and his children recreating Lil Kim’s iconic “Crush On You” music video. His eight-year-old daughter Brooklyn starred as Lil Kim and even got a FaceTime call from the rapper herself. Lil Kim appeared to approve, but the same definitely can’t be said for everyone else.

Instagram users in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section are sounding off about Brooklyn’s costume, arguing that it’s inappropriate for a child to wear. Others note how they had her lip sync to provocative song lyrics. Overall, most users are questioning why her parents thought any of this was okay.

Social Media Users Call Out DJ Envy

“This bypassed TWO parents?” one confused commenter asks. “Wildly inappropriate,” another user calls the costume. “Were all the princesses, fairies, and vampires sold out?! Cuz I think the hell not,” someone else writes. Many also point out that if the child’s parents wanted to recreate the music video, they could have at least had her mother play the role of Lil Kim. At the time of writing, neither DJ Envy nor his wife Gia Casey have addressed the backlash.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time DJ Envy has been under fire recently. Last month, he claimed that Diddy should be released from prison on bond, sparking a debate. He argued that since the Bad Boy founder has children whose mother passed away, he should be able to “fight this outside.” What do you think of DJ Envy getting called out over his daughter’s Lil Kim Halloween costume? Do you agree that the costume was inappropriate? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Both Heidi Klum And Janelle Monáe Wore Unbelievably Elaborate ‘ET’ Costumes This Halloween

“Great minds think alike,” as the oft-quoted saying goes, and when it comes to Halloween costumes, perhaps the two greatest minds are Heidi Klum and Janelle Monáe. Year after year, both entertainers go above and beyond with their Halloween costumes, and in 2024, they were on the exact same page: They both went as ET.

Monáe showed off their take on The Jennifer Hudson Show, and their blanket-wrapped version, a spitting image of the movie character, had blinking eyes in the costume head and a light-up finger and heart and everything.

Klum showed off her interpretation at her annual Halloween party yesterday, and it was similarly impressive. The New York Times notes the costume featured a “motorized headpiece with a movable mouth and eyes, controlled remotely by a member of Ms. Klum’s team.” They also noted that given the difficulty of getting in and out of the costume, Klum opted to wear an adult diaper. She said, “Maybe I never need to use the diaper, but at least that way I don’t have to think about it.”

Here is Klum’s ET (with a bonus Questlove appearance):

Getty Image

In a recent Hollywood Reporter interview, Monáe revealed they have “a fairy Halloween mother” who helps fund their costumes, saying, “My job is to make people believe in their imagination. That is a job, that is my purpose. Imagination inspires nations. It is important to the committee of imagineers that I go out and I do that good work. There’s a fund that is set aside to make people believe in art, and again, believe in performance art. What I’m doing is performance art, and it is drawing attention to the need for money in the arts, for more grants for schools. We must tap into the imaginations of our kids. These are the people that are going to be the innovators of the future. I’m so happy to have support of people that believe in performance art and believe in me as the person to get that message out.”

Diddy Blackface & Baby Oil Halloween Costumes Go Viral And Lead To Investigation From University

Diddy’s allegations and arrest have been the trending topic for well over a month. The mogul was arrested over a month ago on RICO charges such as racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. Hundreds upon hundreds of alleged victims have come forward with harrowing claims of sexual assault and rape. But despite the severity of these accusations, the internet has been making sure to find ways to crack jokes. No matter what you may think about the Bad Boy Records founder, the wise cracks can really come across in bad taste. Take for example two college students who are going viral for shamelessly sporting Diddy blackface and baby oil Halloween costumes.

According to AllHipHop, the racist and insensitive get-ups appeared in a since-deleted TikTok video. The clip was uploaded to the platform from a woman who reportedly attends San Diego State University. “How the group chat dressed for Halloween,” the post was captioned, and it also included other kids’ costumes. As it stands, it is not confirmed if the boy (dressed in blackface) and the girl (dressed in the baby oil costume) go to SDSU. According to another report from NBC 7 of San Diego, CA, the institution released a statement addressing the situation.

The Diddy Halloween Costumes Have Tens Of Million Of Views On Twitter

“The use of blackface and any actions making light of sexual assault are deeply offensive and have no place in our community. The individuals photographed are not confirmed SDSU students. Our team is working to confirm information including the location and identities of those involved.” In addition to doing extra work to determine who the kids are, it’s also too soon if there are any conduct violations. As you might imagine, this had sparked some heated discourse on social media, particularly Twitter. People who are defending the kids for their costumes are mostly white, but there are certainly a lot of others outraged.

What are your thoughts on these Diddy Halloween costumes? How insensitive is this and do you think joking about serious topics needs to stop? Do you think these students (or at least the boy) will be expelled from their university? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Diddy and this developing story. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Ice Spice Flaunts Her Figure In Her “Fifth Element” Halloween Costume

Spooky season is upon us, and Ice Spice had a great pick for her (first?) Halloween costume for 2024. She took to Instagram to share some snaps as Leeloo, Milla Jovovich’s character in the 1997 sci-fi flick The Fifth Element. The orange-haired humanoid is the perfect look for the Bronx femcee, flaunting her fitness journey’s results and boasting nice details like matching eyebrows and even Leeloo’s Multi Pass recreated in her image. We’re still a few days away from October 31, so maybe she has another costume in the tank that we’ll see in due time when celebrations pop off.

In fact, Ice Spice has done a lot of style shifts and new looks these days, so this transitioned pretty seamlessly into Halloween celebrations. For example, she recently debuted a new dark-haired look at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Not everyone was a fan, but most people seemed to at least appreciate that the 24-year-old switched her style up and hasn’t stuck to the exact same image. As irrelevant or superficial as it may seem to some, it’s a tool that a lot of artists can use to visually represent their career moves, push their branding, and just look however they feel like looking. Who says they can’t switch things up?

Ice Spice’s Halloween Costume

Another element is that this helps artists distinguish themselves from each other, and failing to do so could prove important in furthering any existing feuds. This was the case for Latto and Ice Spice, who have at least on one occasion drawn style comparisons amid their supposed beef. However, we wouldn’t really put too much stock into that supposed rivalry, as both lyricists seem quite publicly confused as to how and why this rift happened and why the other side is supposedly interested in it.

Such is the vague nature of hip-hop competition sometimes, and it’s a narrative that fans still hold on to. In any case, we’re sure that Ice Spice will continue to impress and dazzle with her style regardless of whether she’s in any rap beefs or not. As one of the first rappers to debut their Halloween costume this year, she started off strong.

Lizzo Reveals Daring Halloween Costume Clapping Back At “South Park” Ozempic Jokes

Lizzo is getting ready to have a good time during Halloween, and she took jokes made at her expense as fuel for a creative costume. Moreover, she recently took to Instagram with various photo dumps of her self-proclaimed “LizzOzempic” costume, which plays off of a recent South Park parody that presented her and her music as an alternative to the weight loss medication. In the episode, the joke is that the “medication” would make users “not give a f**k” about their weight. The Detroit native is very happy to do so, and to continue to advocate for body positivity and confident self-worth.

“That’s crazy!” Lizzo had said while reacting to the South Park skit online. “I just feel like, damn, I’m really that b***h. I’m really that b***h! I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f**k to the point where these… men in Colorado know who the f**k I am and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years. I’m really that b***h and I showed y’all how not to give a f**k and I’ma keep on showing you how not to give a f**k. Oh, oh, oh, oh, Lizzo, b***h!” she sang at the end of her TikTok video.

Lizzo’s “LizzOzempic” Costume

If you’re curious, you can check out more of Lizzo’s posts showing off her “LizzOzempic” costume by clicking the “Via” link down below. This cheeky costume comes as she recently gave a pretty light response to allegations that she’s using Ozempic on her fitness and weight loss journey. In fact, the 36-year-old seems very pleased with them in a certain sense, as they let her know that her hard work is paying off. If exercise prompts those rumors, then she’s happy to keep pumping iron and loving herself with no need for medication.

Elsewhere, another big story around Lizzo these days surrounds the allegations against her about her supposed creation of a hostile work environment. When asked about the matter at Fortune‘s “Most Powerful Women” event, she declined to elaborate on it and instead called to attention the event’s focus on fostering strong female leaders and forces. As for the allegations themselves, a court of law has yet to make heads or tails of the situation in its entirety.

Drake-Inspired Pictures Dropped From Fashion Nova’s Viral BBL Drizzy Halloween Costume

Fashion Nova has taken down the viral images marketing their “BBL Booty Butt Pad” Halloween costume accessory. The company originally had been using a Drake-lookalike wearing his iconic colorful hair clips to show off the item, seemingly referencing Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy.”

Fans on social media initially had mixed reactions to Fashion Nova’s costume. “Just trying to prove it’s a 20v1/ witch-hunt on one person. Marking yourselves look like clowns,” one fan of Drake wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another defended the jokes, writing: “Drake and his fans acting like his victim for stuff like this when he’s brought it upon him with those corny and uncalled disses towards Megan, Riri and Serena which they either labeled it as ‘petty’ or turned a blind eye is the funniest shi they ever pulled.”

Metro and Drake spent several months dissing one another, earlier this year, following the release of “Like That.” More recently, Metro claimed that he doesn’t have any serious issues with Drake during an appearance at the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit. “I feel like the competition is great for the game,” Metro said. “Hip-hop has always been more of a competitive genre, even if just keeping it on music. And it’s not serious how everybody tries to make it. Because also with hip-hop, there’s a lot of ego involved. You’re supposed to feel like you’re the best. Everybody from the highest to the lowest guy, you’re supposed to at least feel like you’re the best.”

Fashion Nova Is Absolutely Making Fun Of Drake With Their New ‘BBL Booty’ Halloween Costume

We’re in the first few days of October right now, so there’s still plenty of time for people to get their Halloween costumes sorted out before the end of the month. If you’re a Drake hater (or a Drake lover, even, depending on how you want to interpret it), Fashion Nova has the Halloween costume for you.

Technically, it’s an accessory, not a full costume: Fashion Nova has a new item listed, and the listing is titled “BBL Booty Butt Pad Costume Accessory – Nude.” The accessory straps around the wearer’s waist and, when paired with the right outfit, gives the appearance of a large butt.

The listing has no direct mentions of Drake. But, it’s so clearly about him. Aside from the obviously “BBL Drizzy”-inspired product name, the model they got to show off the costume is wearing a hoodie that says “Papi,” grills in his mouth, and rainbow-colored hairclips that are similar to the ones Drake sported during the For All The Dogs era.

As for what “BBL Drizzy” means: The term stems from accusations that Drake has had a Brazilian butt lift surgery. It especially took off earlier this year, when Metro Boomin shared an instrumental beat titled “BBL Drizzy.”

Khloe Kardashian Seemingly Responds To “Blackfishing” Scandal

Amid the countless celebrity Halloween looks we’ve seen this year, Khloe Kardashian’s costume was among one of the most controversial. The reality star dressed up as a Bratz doll, sporting a mini dress, a pair of chunky boots, and some extra long hair. Her fit wasn’t what managed to raise eyebrows however, as critics immediately took note of Khloe’s skin tone.

In a variety of photos she shared on Instagram, the mother of two’s complexion appears to have been deepened by makeup or tanning products to make her look Black. “You were Black for Halloween?” one social media user asked under her post. This isn’t the first time someone from the KarJenner clan has been accused of Blackfishing, but nonetheless, it made headlines. Now, Khloe seems to have responded to the allegations in a series of vague Instagram Stories, where she insinuates that critics’ opinions of her are simply a reflection of themselves.

Khloe Kardashian’s Controversial Costume

“You can’t control how others interpret your actions our words,” one of the posts reads. “Everyone perceives things based on their current situations and mindset. Just keep acting with honesty, love and a good heart.” Another urges readers to avoid negativity, choosing inner-peace instead. While it remains unconfirmed whether or not the posts were in direct reference to the Blackfishing scandal, the timing certainly seems to line up.

At the time of writing, Khloe’s Instagram photos of her posing in the costume remain on her page. It appears that the Good American co-founder is standing by her Bratz-inspired look, and choosing not to address the situation directly. While some continue to throw allegations her way, others are coming to her defense. Do you think Khloe Kardashian’s Halloween costume crossed the line, or are critics overreacting? What do you think of her apparent response? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
