Khloe Kardashian Seemingly Responds To “Blackfishing” Scandal

Amid the countless celebrity Halloween looks we’ve seen this year, Khloe Kardashian’s costume was among one of the most controversial. The reality star dressed up as a Bratz doll, sporting a mini dress, a pair of chunky boots, and some extra long hair. Her fit wasn’t what managed to raise eyebrows however, as critics immediately took note of Khloe’s skin tone.

In a variety of photos she shared on Instagram, the mother of two’s complexion appears to have been deepened by makeup or tanning products to make her look Black. “You were Black for Halloween?” one social media user asked under her post. This isn’t the first time someone from the KarJenner clan has been accused of Blackfishing, but nonetheless, it made headlines. Now, Khloe seems to have responded to the allegations in a series of vague Instagram Stories, where she insinuates that critics’ opinions of her are simply a reflection of themselves.

Khloe Kardashian’s Controversial Costume

“You can’t control how others interpret your actions our words,” one of the posts reads. “Everyone perceives things based on their current situations and mindset. Just keep acting with honesty, love and a good heart.” Another urges readers to avoid negativity, choosing inner-peace instead. While it remains unconfirmed whether or not the posts were in direct reference to the Blackfishing scandal, the timing certainly seems to line up.

At the time of writing, Khloe’s Instagram photos of her posing in the costume remain on her page. It appears that the Good American co-founder is standing by her Bratz-inspired look, and choosing not to address the situation directly. Khloe Kardashian Accused Of “Blackfishing” Due To Bratz Doll Costume

Khloe Kardashian is someone who has gone through some controversies over the years. Overall, the Kardashian knows how to handle things. After all, when your entire life is on TV for everyone to see, you come up with coping strategies. Unfortunately, there are some scandals that have led to embarrassment. Whether it be Tristan Thompson’s consistent cheating sprees or the OJ Simpson father claims, Khloe has been through the wringer. When she put on her Halloween costume yesterday, we doubt she thought it was going to happen all over again.

As you can see in the Instagram post below, she went as a Bratz Doll for Halloween. In fact, this was part of a group costume with her sister Kim. However, fans noticed something was off about Khloe herself. Some found her to be completely unrecognizable. Furthermore, she was immediately hit with “blackfishing” allegations. For those who don’t know, “blackfishing” is when a white person uses heavy makeup or bronzer to make themselves appear as a black person. This is not the first time Khloe has been accused of such a thing.

PinkyDoll Dismisses Allegations Of “Light Skin Fishing”

An appearance the Streamys has caused a lot of drama for TikTok and OnlyFans star PinkyDoll. Fans were quick to point out that PinkyDoll, real name Fedha Sinon, was much darker IRL than she appeared in her content. This led people to speculate that the content creator was utilizing lighting and makeup to lighten her skin to garner more attention online. While Sinon is a Black woman, there have long been arguments that lighter-skinned Black women find more success compared to their darker-skinned counterparts.

PinkyDoll addressed these claims in a conversation with TMZ. “Well you know, when I go into the sun, I get a little darker. But I love to be a Black woman, what can you do?” she began. “I think they are just hating.” The interviewer quickly moved on to a different topic without challenging PinkyDoll’s answer. She didn’t really defend herself or actually address the allegations. Of course, she doesn’t have to. At the end of the day, she’s just playing the game and winning like so many other people. However, her answer is unlikely to go over well with many people who think she is manipulating perceptions of her race for profit.

More Drama For PinkyDoll

This is just the latest drama that PinkyDoll has found herself in this month. A few weeks ago, the content creator went on an explosive rant after finding multiple sites hosting her leaked OnlyFans content. “I see all these websites. How dare you, you going to let other people put my face and my body out here doing stuff like that,” she said. “I’m going to sue all of you, I’m going to sue you. You allow the people to post Pinkydoll.”

It’s unclear if PinkyDoll has decided to follow through with these threats but it’s a very common problem for sex workers. Elsewhere, back in July, PinkyDoll came under fire for breaking character during a stream in order to discipline her son. While many people supported her during that moment, many others saw it as overly harsh. Or maybe it was just the shock of seeing PinkyDoll become Fedha Sinon for a moment and talk like a real person. However, the allegations of “light skin fishing” remain a developing story and we’ll have any updates here on HotNewHipHop.

Alabama Barker’s Rap Video Earns Her Blackfishing Accusations: Watch

Alabama Barker hasn’t even made it to legal age yet, but already, the 17-year-old has amassed herself a serious group of haters. While some have criticized the teenager for making herself appear older than she is, much of the backlash she’s faced – on TikTok especially – has been regarding her love for rap music. She was compared to Kentucky lyricist Rubi Rose earlier this year after previewing a new song on the platform, but now, one of her latest videos has the internet slamming the young blonde.

On Monday (May 15), Barker confidently rhymed along to lyrics like “We ain’t together, when I’m wit’ him he know I’m the realest / I ain’t no opposition, all these bitches in their feelings.” Rather than her signature platinum locks, the fashionista wore a bright orange wig, seemingly channelling Ice Spice. She left one blonde streak in her bangs and obviously overlined her lips with a dark pencil, causing some to leave comments online about her obviously altered appearance. Elsewhere, others have been questioning her decision to pursue rapping when her father, Travis Barker, is one of the most famous rockers in the world.

“I don’t understand how white girls be rich and decide to do this? The way I would be at a pool spending money somewhere, like what?” one hater wrote on Twitter. “The girls are really getting good at their Black girl cosplay. Like they are really committing!” another sarcastic response says. Offering up a half-compliment half-critique, a user wrote, “Ngl the wig colour is a good ass colour, but it would be cool if she didn’t do that thing where she spends the next 10 years copying Black women from the south.”

Regardless of what the haters are saying, plenty of TikTok users chimed in with kind words under the wannabe rap diva’s post, encouraging her to keep pursuing her dreams.
