GloRilla is a long-standing muse of Kodak Black’s, so we’re actually very surprised that he took so long to react to her latest music video. Moreover, he posted a video on social media reacting to Glo’s new visual for the banger “TGIF,” and his yells and exclamations during the video (as well as his dance moves) are quite hilarious to witness. In addition, the Florida rapper remarked on how physically attractive the Memphis femcee is, and couldn’t help but express shock at her mention of her “moose knuck.” We’ll let you look that up real quick before you keep reading… Pretty wild, right?
Jokes aside, seeing this artistic appreciation from one spitter to another is always amazing to see in the hip-hop game, even if this example is more lewd in nature. “TGIF” still hits hard, and this also shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise. After all, Kodak Black previously reacted to GloRilla’s explicit throat-related lyrics on BossMan Dlow’s “Finesse” remix. “B***h say she could make her throat stretch! B***h show me! How far?” he comically inquired online.
But GloRilla isn’t the only person that Kodak Black is thirsting over on Instagram; in fact, he prefers to lust for the ladies together instead of one by one. For example, he recently posted (and afterwards deleted) a picture of three seemingly random women with some heart emojis in the caption, leaving fans confused. Was this just a quick thirsty moment online or are these individuals working on something together? One of the women in the photo actually responded to it while tagging the other two in quite the confused manner, since this picture seems to have come directly from one of their feeds. Who knows what that was about…
Elsewhere, GloRilla’s “TGIF” is getting love from all corners, including a viral weatherman who did a parody remix of the track with Big Glo herself. Hopefully this trunk-knocker continues to ring off throughout 2024, as it’s one of the most fun and catchy singles of the year so far. Longtime fans like Kodak Black got way more than they asked for over the past few months: a mixtape, plenty of singles and features, plus an album on the way. Let’s see if these artists ever link up in the booth one day.
Just when you thought the song couldn’t get any more addictive, the track made its way into a local newsroom. Yesterday (July 12), GloRilla took to Instagram to reveal a hilarious remake of the record with everyone’s favorite weatherman, Nick Kosir.
“It’s 7 pm Friday & here’s da forecast from me & my guy, Nick Kosir ,” she wrote.
In the clip, the Fox anchor put his own professional spin on GloRilla’s smash single and forecast reporting will never be the same.
“I ain’t got no sunburn / cause I got sunscreen on me / I’ma show my forecast / For the rest of the week / How are we gonna cool off / In this kind of heat / Turn on all the fans / Turn on the ac / Turn down all the blinds / Cause it’s hot and sticky / 60 percent chance that a cold front will advance / Til then its hots as Hades / Now let’s hit this dance,” he rapped.
Watch the full video below.
This isn’t Nick Kosir’s first time incorporating trendy tracks into his onscreen appears. But his spin on GloRilla’s “TGIF” is just divine alignment.
NLE Choppa is honest with his fans. It’s one of the reasons his music resonates. It’s also why he used one of his own songs, “Slut Me Out 2,” to tell the world that he has a crush on Billie Eilish. The rapper hopped on TikTok on July 10 and danced to his song while a message on the screen read: “I got a crush on Billie Elish [sic].” Spelling error aside, the TikTok caught the attention of viewers, if for nothing else the sheer randomness of the selection. NLE Choppa had more to say on the matter, though.
The rapper posted a second TikTok in which he lamented being “bored.” Then a third in which he tries to stretch his legs and flailing them around in frustration. The latter also came with a message that put the bizarre outburst into (some) context. “If I shoot my shot at Billie and it don’t work out,” he wrote. Strange as this whole string of TikToks may seem, this is actually something that NLE Choppa has done before. The rapper is only a few months removed from shooting his shoot with another artist, GloRilla.
NLE was a big fan of GloRilla’s IG thirst traps, and voiced his interest during an interview with AllHipHop. “She’s getting a little thicker. We see you,” he announced. “That a** getting fat now, Glo… She must’ve been on her oats. She ‘bout one more picture away before I’m just there with it.” NLE and GloRilla never linked up, as far as the public knows. Unfortunately, the same is going to be true for the rapper and Billie Eilish, based on the latter’s recent comments about dating.
Billie Eilish was asked about her love life during a March interview with People Magazine. She asserted that she’s “never dating again,” but walked the comment back with a more fleshed-out response. “That’s not true, obviously,” she conceded. “But no, I don’t see myself being serious with anyone until I find someone that really feels right to me, and that is not interesting to me right now.” Billie Eilish’s last serious relationship, with Jesse Rutherford, came to an end in May 2023.
GloRilla has certainly been having her moment in 2024. Overall, she is deserving of all of this attention she is getting. Her year got off to a strong start after dropping her first hit with “Yeah Glo!”. The eventual lead single for her mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang is perhaps the best self-confident banger so far. In addition to that, Big Glo has been receiving an extra bump from Megan Thee Stallion. Their collaboration on “Wanna Be” and being able to perform together on the latter’sHot Girl Summer Tour have all been major pluses. Finally, she has now another song trending with “TGIF”. It could be the summer rap anthem, preaching a hot night out in more ways than one. Like “Yeah Glo!”, GloRilla’s latest record has more memorable lyrics.
The ones that are making waves online right now are, “Crop top with some bikers shorts, I’m showin’ off my moose knuckle (Woo)“. That refers to the outline tight clothes create around the private region of a lady. In addition to the dance “TGIF” has spawned on TikTok, this bar has created a separate trend which Glo calls “Moose Knuckle Monday”.Ice Spice was the first major artist to hop on this wave, showing her’s off in a pink bodysuit. Glo was a close second, dropping a threesome of photos with her wearing tight black tee and beige yoga shorts.
GloRilla Kicks Off “Moose Knuckle Monday” And NLE Choppa Approves
This collage had fellow Memphis rapper NLE Choppa in a trance and it even got him to shoot his shot. According to AllHipHop, the “Camelot” MC has been keeping a close eye on her female contemporary for a little bit. In a recent interview at the BET Awards, Choppa took the time to recognize what GloRilla is doing for their city musically, but also shouted out her curvier appearance. “She’s getting a little thicker. We see you. That a** getting fat now, Glo… She must’ve been on her oats”, he said. “She ‘bout one more picture away before I’m just there with it”. Well, that time was now, and Choppa commented on the post, saying, “this the post”. All Glo could do was laugh about it, so he might have stricken out.
What are your thoughts on NLE Choppa hollering at GloRilla? Could you see these two dating in the future? How do you feel about this new “Moose Knuckle Monday” trend? Is “TGIF” the official song of the summer, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding NLE Choppa and GloRilla. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
Two months ago, I tweeted: “Best year of hip-hop. EVER. #2024.” and the Internet’s feisty commentators tore me up. Pardon my excitement and wild proclamation, but I haven’t felt this good about the state of rap music since life before the pandemic. The 2020s have stunk — until now. What’s not to love today? Older rappers like Nas are showing and proving that great lyricists don’t have a retirement age. The historic, long-awaited showdown between Aubrey “Drake” Graham and Kendrick Lamar Duckworth lived up to the hype and transcended it. Plus, I’ve lost count of how much terrific content Future and Metro Boomin can cook up.
Still, everybody can’t get a trophy. It’s time to recognize the best of the best. I dare you to disagree. Ha! Spoiler alert: No Ye. No Q. No Vince Staples. No J. Cole on my albums list. You got a problem with that? Turn that frown upside down and turn the music up. Here’s the best hip-hop songs and albums of 2024, so far.
The Top 10 Hip-Hop Songs Of 2024 So Far
10. Nas & DJ Premier — “Define My Name” (Mass Appeal)
Three decades since working together on his classic debut, Illmatic, Queenbridge’s finest reconnects with Preemo for some classic Big Apple boom bap. Hopefully the promise of a future full-length project between the hall-of-fame duo comes to fruition.
9. Bossman Dlow — “Mr. Pot Scraper” (Alamo/Sony)
One of hip-hop’s most celebrated freshmen, Big Za has got plenty of digestible dope boy raps, but this one is the best. He’s a hustler, baby.
What’s better than one good Atlanta female MC? Two. Newcomer Nene gets a big assist from ATL Birthday Bash headliner, Latto. The fellas better pay attention — you don’t wanna piss these ladies off.
7. Cash Cobain — “Fisherr” Feat. Bay Swag (Giant)
Bronx-bred rapper/producer, Slizzy takes his sexy drill NY sound nationwide with this irresistibly catchy, tender ode to young love. Should you play this one multiple times? For sure.
6. 21 Savage — “Redrum” (Slaughter Gang/Epic)
Murderous material made by a mad man? Yeah, that’s a pretty good summation of Savage’s haunting anthem, which pays homage to the horror classic movie, The Shining. And I still can’t believe that’s Usher at the end, gettin’ his “Vincent Price on Thriller” on.
5. Sexyy Red — “Get It Sexxy” (Open Shift/Gamma)
It’s a rallying cry to act ratchet as Ms. “Pound Town” stomps all over producer Tay Keith’s kinetic track. Whoop! Whoop!
4. GloRilla — “Yeah Glo” (CMG/Interscope)
Suffice it to say, this self-affirmation selection slaps. Who can resist cheering along to this assertive chorus? Go, Gloria!
Before ultimately losing his intense exchange with rival Kendrick Lamar, Drizzy captivated with this sonic triumvirate of lyrical warfare. Too bad that he probably foreshadowed another K Dot Grammy triumph.
Over Metro aka hip-hop’s best producer’s best beat, Compton’s most wanted deads all comparisons to Aubrey and Jermaine and declares his dominant position. There can only be one.
1. Kendrick Lamar — “Not Like Us” (Kendrick Lamar/Interscope)
It’s a diss song and a hit song. Over DJ Mustard’s masterful canvas, King Kendrick simultaneously ends hip-hop’s greatest beef and empowers the West Coast hip-hop scene. A true victory lap.
The Top 10 Hip-Hop Albums Of 2024 So Far
10. Mach-Hommy — #RichAxxHaitian (Mach-Hommy)
Hip-hop’s most mysterious MC delivers a musically diverse magnum opus that commands your attention from beginning to end.
9. Flo Milli — Fine Ho, Stay (‘94 Sounds/RCA)
Anchored by her biggest single, “Never Lose Me,” Flo defies sophomore jinx pressure and captivates with her most compelling body of work to date.
8. Benny The Butcher — Everybody Can’t Go (5 To 50/Def Jam)
With a co-sign from West Coast icon, Snoop Dogg, this Griselda spitter subtly takes his signature gritty raps to new heights. Growth is good.
7. Rapsody — Please Don’t Cry (We Each Other/Jamla/Roc Nation)
You can’t handle the truth? Too bad. Marlena Evans bares her mind and soul on this sprawling but still soothing soundtrack.
6. Bossman Dlow — Mr. Beat The Road (Alamo/Sony)
A ferocious force from Florida, Dlow delivers a riveting, raw mixtape that moves him one step closer to mainstream exposure.
5. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie — Better Off Alone (Highbridge/Atlantic)
New York’s most consistent MC of the past seven years releases his best album and you all lame out? Don’t let the low numbers fool you, The Artist is on his A-Game here.
4. Gunna — One Of Wun (YSL/300)
Although his career remains riddled in controversy as long as Young Thug is on trial, Gunna remains musically unfazed, following his should’ve-been-Grammy-nominated 2023 album, A Gift & A Curse, with a melodic masterwork that only he could put together.
3. 21 Savage — American Dream (Slaughter Gang/Epic)
Fresh off his successful collab album with Drake, Her Loss, Savage subtly addresses his immigration saga and delivers his most cohesive collection of music.
1. TIE: Future & Metro Boomin — We Don’t Trust You + We Still Don’t Trust You (Wilburn Holding/Boominati/Epic)
How can I choose? Same foundational premise: “The elimination of Drake.” Ha! But the execution is pure flawless excellence on both sides. We Don’t uses Mobb Deep’s Prodigy as a muse, as the two Atlanta heavyweights set their mark in hip-hop history. The follow-up, We Still Don’t, hearkens back to 2017’s HNDRXX as Pluto proves his singing can be just as potent as his rhymes. The aftermath of these two releases still resonates, as it single-handedly led to the Kendrick-Drake showdown. Future and Metro did the impossible. Then they did it twice.
Ice Spice and GloRilla have been going hit for hit in 2024 since the beginning of the year. The latter has the slight edge on the former because the Memphis rapper put out her mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang. That also holds some extra major tracks such as “Wanna Be” “No Bih”, and more. Fans might also side with Big Glo in this comparison, as a lot of people seem to be quickly turning on the “Munch” artist. However, we feel they could be knotted up once the New York drill musician drops off her debut album, Y2K!
It will be on streaming platforms in a couple of more weeks, with July 26 being the big day. It is indeed an important release for Ice Spice, especially because of the added pressure from listeners and even her competition such as Latto. Thankfully, the “boys a liar” hitmaker still has a lot of support from the ladies surrounding her, with GloRilla being one that seemingly has no animosity toward her. Spice confirms that they are cool with one another after a very suggestive post on X (formerly Twitter).
Ice Spice Was On Her GloRilla Energy With This Tweet
GloRilla has another banger on her hands currently with “TGIF” thanks to her memorable performance and a trunk-knocking beat. A lot of the lyrics have also been going quite viral, like this one, “Crop top with some bikers shorts, I’m showin’ off my moose knuckle (Woo) / I’m feelin’ good today (Yeah)“. If you need help understanding, “moose knuckle” is way of referring to a woman’s privates and the outline it creates when wearing tight clothing. Well, Ice Spice was also “feelin’ good today“, as she showed off the goods in a pink bodysuit before working out. We wonder how Central Cee feels about this?
What are your thoughts on Ice Spice alluding to the NSFW lyrics in GloRilla’s “TGIF” single on Twitter? Is this one of the wildest images a rapper has shared this year so far? Do you think these two should collaborate? Where do you rank the Memphis MC’s track in terms of major hits in 2024? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Ice Spice and GloRilla. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
Lil Wayne was among the more famous guests at Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July White Party, but it seems like he didn’t hang out much. Moreover, he recently spoke during an interview about the experience, which also hosted his Young Money partner, Drake. However, Weezy shouted out GloRilla as “the only person that really came up to me and really hollered at me,” which is a bit surprising out of context. In fact, it makes Drizzy’s picture with Glo at the bash all the more curious, as fans were already commenting on how old the Toronto superstar looks after his Kendrick Lamar battle.
Furthermore, it’s interesting that Lil Wayne chose to shout the Memphis femcee out in this way when they were all there, and especially when she herself hung out with Drake. We don’t know if he’s really serious about this or if he’s referring to something else, but either way, there’s another rapper that probably wanted to see him for sure and didn’t get the chance. Birdman hosted the Cash Money reunion at the Essence Festival in New Orleans recently, but Tunechi did not appear alongside his Hot Boys brethren and others. Instead, he just had a solo set during the celebrations, which disappointed many.
As for GloRilla, we know that she has a pretty close relationship with another massive star: Rihanna. Both have shown each other a lot of love recently after RiRi posted a video of her rapping Glo’s “TGIF” to her boo, A$AP Rocky. In fact, she even DM’d the Megan Thee Stallion collaborator about when her album was dropping. The irony in that is that she could ask the Barbadian creative the very same thing, as fans have wanted R9 for almost a decade now.
Meanwhile, Lil Wayne had another celebrity shoutout to make recently, but it wasn’t a very positive one. He challenged a viral tweet that claimed Justin Timberlake was the most famous Green Bay Packers fan, as he has repped the team for a long time and is arguably more relevant right now than J.T. Still, that’s just a speculative interpretation of what the clap-back meant, as it was probably just a joke anyway. Perhaps we shouldn’t take this remark too seriously, but no matter what, we’ll never complain about someone showing GloRilla some well-deserved love.
On multiple occasions, Rihanna has teased that she is working on new music. But the public is no longer holding their breath. Still, there is a small group of supporters that do have hopes for a new original body of work from her. Meanwhile, Rihanna pulled a Uno reverse card with GloRilla to question the rapper about her forthcoming project.
Today (July 2), the “Wanna Be” rapper took to her official Instagram page to share the shocking message she received from Rihanna.
“You got all summer sis,” she wrote. “I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?”
Users online hilariously called out Rihanna for having the nerve to flip the script onto GloRilla.
This isn’t the first time Rihanna fanned out over GloRilla. Last month, while in Paris to support Asap Rocky’s Fashion Week show with American Sabotage by AWGE, Rihanna uploaded a video rapping along to GloRilla’s latest single, “TGIF.”
Rihanna loves GloRilla. The latter dropped off her new single, “TGIF,” in June, and Rihanna posted a video of herself dancing to it on Instagram. Evidently, the pop superstar wants more than a song, though. She slid into GloRilla’s DMs on July 2 and attempted to find out when the rapper would be dropping her full album. The irony, of course, being that Rihanna has kept fans waiting for new music since 2016. If there is any artist who should know about waiting, it’s her (and maybe Frank Ocean).
Rihanna’s DM made the rounds on social media, with many fans being humored by the singer’s fandom. She knows exactly what it’s like to wait for new music, without having any idea when it’ll come out. “You got all summer sis,” Rihanna wrote to GloRilla. “I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?” It’s absolutely wild to compare the release dates for Rihanna’s and GloRilla’s last projects. Rih dropped Anti in 2016, like we previously stated. GloRilla, meanwhile, dropped a mixtape in April of this year! She put out Ehhthang Ehhthang on streaming, which included the hit single “Wanna Be.”
Every piece of music GloRilla has put out, actually, has come after the release of Rihanna’s last album. That being said, the rapper has discussed her rapidly evolving style. She told iHeartRadio that she has aimed to maintain her musical roots with Ehhthang Ehhthang, despite getting more popular. “The songs are just so raw,” she noted. “I was going back to my roots. I rebranded on it because last year I was just trying to go so big when I was in album mode.”
The upcoming GloRilla album, however, is going to be a little different. Since she already fed her mixtape audience, she will try to go bigger and broader. “[I wanted to] give em some raw gangsta music before I put my album out,” she explained. “Because I feel like I waited too long to drop last year so I went a whole year without a project.” GloRilla’s latest single, the one Rihanna has been bumping, definitely suggest an attempt at a radio smash. Hopefully fans (and RiRi) get to hear the new album soon.
Following the 2024 BET Awards, GloRilla hosted a massive celebratory party attended by celebrities such as Megan Thee Stallion, Coco Jones, Shaboozey, Yo Gotti, Angela Simmons, Mickey Guyton, Too $hort, Moneybagg Yo, Joey Badass, NLE Choppa, Sauce Walka, radio personality Big Boy, rap group 41, and Journey Montana.
The event celebrated GloRilla’s spectacular year, marked by a stunning BET Awards performance and the success of her singles “TGIF,” “Wanna Be,” and “Yeah! Glo.” She has also been touring with Megan Thee Stallion on the Hot Girl Summer Tour and enjoying the continued success of her project, Ehhthang Ehhthang.
The star-studded party was a testament to GloRilla’s rising influence in the music industry and her ability to bring together top artists for a night of celebration.
