Tee Grizzley & G Herbo Skate On Their Latest Collaboration “Swerve”

Tee Grizzley has just put out Post Traumatic, his twelfth project and follow-up to Tee’s Coney Island. The Detroit native has won our support for it, as we really appreciate some of the chances he took with it. There are some nice sample flips and more R&B-like cuts on this 24-song set that go over better than some may expect. What’s also nice about this tape is that Grizzley is giving his fans what they know him for as well. That is hard-hitting trap and hardcore rap bangers with intense flows. Tee Grizzley and G Herbo are doing that and at a high level on “Swerve.”

If you can believe it, this is just the third occasion in which they have been on a song together. The most recent is on YG’s latest record, JUST RE’D UP 3, on the track “MALIBU.” Prior to that, the Midwest stars linked on Tee’s Built For Whatever cut, “Never Bend Never Fold.” On “Swerve,” Herbo and Grizzley equally trade verses and in thrilling fashion. Aiding that sensation is that the fact that they both rap with ease over a dramatic piano trap beat. They indeed slip, slide, and “Swerve” all over the production and it’s one of our go-to’s from this tracklist. Listen to it below and see what you think.

Quotable Lyrics:

Rappin’ and trappin’ almost stopped me from prevailin’
In the studio, but I was stoppin’, makin’ sales (And)
F***ed that paper up when all my partners went to jail (And)
Anything under quarter million made bail (You know that)
Anything I say false, then you can intervene

Tee Grizzley’s “Post Traumatic” Is His Most Ambitious Album To Date

Tee Grizzley has deceptive range as an artist. For someone who broke through with a hard-hitting sound, the rapper has proven that he can drop everything from lyrical miracles to sticky R&B melodies. His last few albums were concise in terms of tracklist, but they were also limited in scope. Post Traumatic, on the other hand, is sprawling. At 24 tracks, it is Tee Grizzley’s longest album to date, and it serves as the ideal showcase for all the different sounds and style he can convincingly pull off.

Post Traumatic starts off a bit show, but “Blow for Blow” gets the momentum going. From track three on, Tee Grizzley dishes out sample-based pop-rap on “All I Wanna Do.” He turns around and leans into hard trap tropes on the hooky “More Than Half.” Need more? How about a flirty R&B duet with Tink on “Ride or Die”? Post Traumatic keeps changing out the styles and featured artists while maintaining a cohesion and aesthetic consistency. It’s an impressive balance. Tee Grizzley sounds just as good opposite Future on the off-kilter “Swear to God” as he does Mariah the Scientist on “Situationship.” The length of Post Traumatic can be daunting, but even on shuffle, these various sounds cohere into a great listening experience.

Let us know what you think of this brand new album, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

VonOff1700, Polo G, & G Herbo Aren’t Playing Around On “Dead N****s”

The Chicago drill scene has been shouldered by names such as Lil Durk, Chief Keef, and G Herbo for about a decade. But with so many aspiring rappers out there, the changing of the guard is going to happen at some point. Someone who could be a face of the cutthroat subgenre is VonOff1700. The 21-year-old does already have a few hits under his belt such as “Opps On Deck”, “Free Brick Freestyle”, and “S.O.B.”. All of those are on his 2024 debut project, #FreeMyHoodF***YoHood. Thanks to its success, VonOff1700 is now getting a chance to work with Polo G and G Herbo.

You can hear some of the influences, especially in the production and in Von’s delivery on “Dead N****s”, the trio’s first collab. What makes this single a winner in our books is the eerie woodwind beat, and everyone’s aggressive verses and mic presence. Those two qualities are always things you can count on from Chicago drill artists to provide, and those are here and then some. Also helping “Dead N****s” is Von’s clunky but still catchy chorus. Overall, this all the ingredients to be a major track for him, and if you check out the YouTube video below, you’ll see that the view count helps prove our point.

G Herbo Addresses Breach Of Contract Lawsuit From Former Legal Team

G Herbo still can’t escape his 2020 federal wire fraud case, as he received a lawsuit from the very firm that represented him in that situation. Moreover, according to court documents reportedly obtained by AllHipHop, Prince Lobel Tye LLP sued him on Tuesday (September 24) for “breach of contract” and “unjust enrichment.” Specifically, they claim that the rapper (real name Herbert Wright III) owes the company over $237K and stopped paying them “roughly two weeks” before his sentence in that wire fraud case. The filing also posits that he accepted their services “with knowledge of Prince Lobel’s reasonable expectation of payment.”

“[G Herbo] has not paid and owes Prince Lobel $237,582.67 for legal work and services performed by the firm on his behalf,” attorneys reportedly stated concerning the Big Swerv MC. “This amount includes interest in the amount of $26,542.85. The last payment made by Mr. Wright was on December 29, 2023. […] It would be unjust for Mr. Wright to enjoy the benefits of Prince Lobel’s services without paying for them. As a result of Mr. Wright’s failure and refusal to pay for the legal work performed by Prince Lobel but accepting the fruits of that work, Mr. Wright has been unjustly enriched, and Prince Lobel has suffered harm.”

G Herbo Sued For Breach Of Contract

Then, on Thursday (September 26), G Herbo gave an exclusive statement to The Shade Room in response to this lawsuit. “I feel like I’m only dealing with this because I’m a celebrity,” he shared. “What they left out is that I’ve already paid them almost $1 million. Yes, I still owe $237,000, and I take accountability for that, even though I feel like they overcharged me because of who I am.

“They also didn’t inform me that the big banks would refuse to bank me regardless of how much I had in the account,” G Herbo continued. “That is just one of the many challenges I’ve faced since the case ended; I’ve needed to change my team and needed time to restructure. Still, I appreciate everything they did for me and hope they have patience while I rebuild my business.” We’ll see what agreement they land on in court.

G Herbo Has Some Fun On “Big Swerv” Mixtape

G Herbo has focused on more pressing topics in his music over the last couple of years at times. Because of that, he’s been getting more personal on his records. However, according to HipHopDX, the Chicago drill specialist wanted to do something different this time around. “Not everybody has been in the streets. And not everybody had to experience violence to the levels that I’ve experienced violence. I was always vulnerable and talked about it through my music,” Herbo said about previous efforts. “So I want to talk about having fun, I want to talk about traveling the world, and living life, and fashion, and stuff that everybody loves, that everybody can relate to”. The latter quote from G Herbo is about his newest mixtape, Big Swerv.

You can certainly those looser vibes on songs like “Ten” with Sexyy Red, “Influence”, and “Trim”, for example. The production is still intimidating and dark, so not all of what’s made Herbo over the years is missing entirely. Big Swerv was announced in early August and only had one single released ahead of time. That was “Shoot” with rising MC Skilla Baby. Speaking of features, him and Red are just two. 21 Savage, BabyDrill, fellow Illinois native Chief Keef, and Rob49 are here too. Let us know what you think of G Herbo’s 14-song effort Big Swerv with the links below.

Are Angel Reese & G Herbo Dating?

Since the Bayou Barbie became one of the hottest players in women’s basketball, everyone has been trying to get a piece of Angel Reese. Fortunately for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, she’s all theirs (at least until her contract is up). But on the romantic court, Angel Reese hasn’t appeared to publicly draft anyone to her roster.

However, that hasn’t stopped fans from tying the WNBA star to another prominent Chicago figure, which would make her “Hip-hop’s favorite rookie” title stick. Users online are convinced that Angel Reese and “No Guts, No Glory” rapper G Herbo are secretly dating. Now, Angel Reese has opened up about the ongoing rumors. Continue below for more information.

Are Angel Reese & G Herbo Dating?

Yesterday (September 5), during the premiere episode of her new podcast, Unapologetically Angel, Angel Reese addressed those pesky G Herbo dating rumors.

Around the episode’s 31-minute mark, Angel Reese brushed off the public’s speculation. According to Angel, her relationship with G Herbo is more sibling than lover. In fact, she called out users online for pushing it further than that based on dull video footage circulated online.

“You didn’t see me in the car kissing this man,” she said. “So, where did y’all get [dating] from?”

Angel’s comments were in response to co-host Maya Reese’s mentioning of the pair being spotted riding around Chicago together (viewable here) in late June. Angel revealed that the night in question, she, Herbo and two friends, who were seated in the back seats but obscured by the tinted windows, were leaving popular nightclub Bevy. Earlier in the month, Angel Reese and friends attended Herbo’s concert at the United Center, where the pair then connected backstage (viewable here).

Angel went on to say that G Herbo has been like a big brother to her since getting drafted to the team. He’s helped her navigate the city and is a go-to support system with any help she needs securing anything locally.

But for those who doubt her story, Angel added why she wouldn’t date G Herbo. “That man has three kids,” she said. “I don’t do kids.”

Angel Reese Sets The Record Straight On G Herbo Relationship

After months of speculation and debate, WNBA star Angel Reese is clearing things up around G Herbo. If you remember, a video taken by a fan in a car over from the rapper’s showed them riding around together. People online were split on this, as some were questioning the Chicago Sky forward for messing with a man who has kid’s and baby mamas. Then, you had others who weren’t trying to immediately jump to conclusions. They felt they were just hanging out as platonic friends. However, the dating rumors were fueled, perhaps accidentally, by Reese, with her posting a video to TikTok lip-syncing Dej Loaf’s “Try Me”.

The lyrical choice had commenters convinced she was referring to G Herbo. “All these n****s love me, can’t get ’em off me / F*** around, gave him my number, he won’t stop calling“. However, it was all smoke and mirrors because Angel Reese explains that they are essentially homies. The speculation was debunked in the first-ever episode of the hooper’s brand-new podcast, Unapologetically Angel.

Her co-host, Maya Reese, a veteran podcaster, content creator, and nonrelative, asked her about the G Herbo situation. Reese was adamant that he’s someone that’s going to have her back at all times. She explained that since she was drafted by the Sky, he’s essentially been a big brother to her. If she needs any help navigating Chicago, or really anything, Herbo is going to be at the ready. Angel also hilariously said that she’s 6’3″ and he’s around 5’10”, further putting the nail in the coffin, so to speak. Overall, though, it’s good to see that these are like siblings to each other, and we hope to see their relationship flourish.

What are your thoughts on Angel Reese clearing up the dating rumors surrounding her and G Herbo? Do you think we normalize that platonic relationships can’t exist anymore too much? G Herbo’s New Project ‘Big Swerv’ To Feature Chief Keef and Sexyy Red

DSC08472GHerbo

G Herbo is getting ready to drop off a new project. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Herb revealed the release would be called Big Swerv and bring in his fellow Chicago legend Chief Keef, along with Sexyy Red and Skilla Baby.

“So Big Swerv is me coming into my adulthood,” Herb said. “The music is a lot more mature than anything I’ve probably ever put out. It’s me having fun, though, too. Like, I never really did a lot of those party records, club records, like the catchy anthems.”

The project is rumored for Sept. 6 release.

G Herbo Has A Bold Opinion About Rappers That Go On No Jumper

G Herbo is coming out of left field with some pretty brazen comments about rappers who go on No Jumper. Funny enough, the hip-hop/pop culture platform reposted the Chicago, Illinois native’s Instagram Story. “You offer these n****s enough money or clout they suck a d**k on no jumper🤦🏾‍♂️😭”. The first we are asking ourselves is who could he possibly be referring to? Is it artists who need extra publicity? Or is he targeting simply anyone who decides to? Or is it someone in particular?

It seems it’s Herbo’s plan to be as vague as possible, because this is certainly creating a lot of chatter online. Underneath the reupload from No Jumper, a lot of people are seeing the truth in this bold claim. “I mean he not kapin yall sum clout chasing pickle ticklers”, one IG user echoes. ” Others are seeming to agree with the “PTSD” rapper due to their own disliking of the podcast and Adam22.

“Welp I see NO LIES detected❗🫠🥱.. The WHOLE podcast FRUITY ASF🌈🦄🏳️‍🌈 💯..”. However, Adam was quick to respond and in hilarious fashion. He reshared what appears to be an older photo of him and G Herbo linking up on his IG Story. He included a P. Diddy song aptly titled “I’ll Be Missing You”, suggesting that the drill artist did in fact do what he claims the rapper’s do when they go on the show. Herbo has been a frequent guest of the show in the past, making this comeback from Adam22 even sweeter. However, we still want to know, “who hurt G Herbo?”.

What are your thoughts on G Herbo calling out guests that go on No Jumper like this? Do you think he’s right, why or why not? What do you think of Adam22’s response?
