Layoffs have impacted every industry, but the entertainment sector has been hit extremely hard. Gucci Mane admits to to monitoring these shakeups.

Now, the “TakeDat” rapper announced upcoming updates to his 1017 Records roster. On October 18, Gucci Mane took to his official Instagram to outline his pending decision.

“I just seen my P&L (profits and losses) with all my artists,” he said. “You know it’s a whole sh*t show in the industry right now, but when I’m looking at my P&L, and me being a businessman, I think that I’m going to have to release almost all my artists, except for Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano.”

Prior to Gucci Mane’s video, 1017 Records lineup reportedly consisted of Bigwalkdog, Brezden, Foofiano, Hotboy Wes, Kato2x, Li Rye, Lil Zay, and Mac Critter. Sadly, several acts including Enchanting and Big Scarr tragically died from drug overdoses. Currently, Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano are serving time behind bars for separate legal cases.

Gucci Mane went on to say: “This is a decision I didn’t want to make. I thought about it. I could keep all of them under the contract. But I said hey, fuck it. Let’s just make the unselfish decision, and let them take their talents elsewhere.”

Before you find yourself upset at the news, Gucci claimed to have “already reached out” to those he intend to drop. However, Gucci remains steadfast that he is still “looking for new talent” to join both Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano, and that remains where he plans to focus his efforts.

Still users online took to his comment section to urge aspiring acts to stay away claiming his record label is “cursed.” This is a claim Gucci Mane’s wife Keyshia Ka’Oir previously slammed.

‘Rap Sh!t’: All The Music You Heard In The Season 1 Finale

(SPOILERS for this latest Rap Sh!t episode will be found below.)

Season one of Rap Sh!t is now in the books, and in just eight weeks, Shawna and Mia (played by Aida Osman and KaMillion) achieved many of the early goals they set out for as a new rap duo. They secured not one but two successful records with “Seduce & Scheme” and “Nann Badder.” Their songs were played in clubs and they were also invited to industry parties. Shawna and Mia have plenty to be excited about as season one comes to a conclusion, but their future is also in question now.

The aforementioned events in the finale of season one are soundtracked by records for the ladies. They’re songs that will boost your confidence and even make you want to shake something if that’s your vibe. Nonetheless, these records perfectly encapsulate the world that Shawna and Mia live in and hope to thrive in as well.

What Songs Were In The Season On Finale Of Rap Sh!t.

In addition to Shawna and Mia’s trademark records, “Seduce & Scheme” and “Nann Badder,” playing in the episode, there are three records that soundtracked biggest moments in this episode of Rap Sh!t. The first two are Kiddo Marv and Dreezy’s “Do It” and Saucy Santana and Renni Rucci’s “Money.” These two songs, along with “Seduce & Scheme,” soundtrack Mia’s time at a strip club. She heads out there with two of her friends for a moment of fun after the frustrating moment with Shawna during their performance in the last episode. It’s also during this scene that Mia records a video for Instagram that makes her fans think that she and Shawna had a split. The second is Steve Lacy’s “Infrunami” which can be heard after Mia hits it off with a fellow Miami rapper. He certainly piques Mia’s interest and the stacks of cash he gave her also boosted his chances.

The soundtrack for this week’s episode also includes the following songs:
City Girls — “You Tried It”
Josh Levi — “Vices”
Tokyo Jetz — “Just Ride”
Foogiano — “Dead In Miami”
Big Boss Vette — “Heavy”
Chelly Flame — “Bandz”
Jackboy — “Hate the B*tch”
Yung Miami — “Rap Freaks”
King Bucc — “Scam B*tch”

HBO Max’s ‘Rap Sh!t’ airs on Thursdays at 9:00pm EST.

Foogiano Has Been Indicted On Federal Gun Charges For A Mass Shooting In South Carolina

Despite being sentenced to five years in prison for skipping house arrest, 1017 rapper Foogiano now faces federal charges stemming from a shooting at a South Carolina nightclub, according to Greenville News. Foogiano was billed as headliner for a show at Lavish Lounge on July 5, 2020. 10 people were shot as gunfire broke out, killing two. On Friday last week, Foogiano was arraigned and documents regarding the shooting were unsealed.

According to Greenville News, the shooting was one of the largest shootings in Greenville in recent history, prompting an investigation by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. According to investigators, although Foogiano was not the one who pulled the trigger, he is at least partially responsible, as the man who actually did do the shooting, Jarquez Kezavion Cooper, is believed to be part of Foogiano’s entourage. Foogiano also had a Glock 40 on the night of the shooting — which, as a convicted felon, meant he was also committing another felony. He’s currently in custody in South Carolina, awaiting return to Georgia on his previous charges.

Foogiano isn’t the only 1017 artist facing significant prison time. Another recent Gucci Mane find, Pooh Shiesty, had his breakout year interrupted after being arrested on an aggravated battery charge following his own club shootout, then was indicted on a federal charge for a separate incident in which he allegedly shot and robbed a man during a parking lot sneaker sale.

Gucci Mane’s Artist Foogiano Has Been Sentenced To Five Years In Prison For Skipping House Arrest

Gucci Mane’s New 1017 Records roster is a man down after Foogiano, best known for his single “Molly,” was sentenced to five years in prison for fleeing house arrest, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. Foogiano, whose real name is Kwame Khalil Brown, was arrested in December of 2020 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon but he was released on $50,000 bail with the condition that he remain in Georgia and wear an ankle monitor.

However, his ankle monitor was found on the side of a road in Barrow County and Foogiano was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee on March 11 after apparently melting the monitor and disappearing. US Marshall’s apprehended him at the funeral of fellow 1017 rapper Pooh Shiesty‘s brother, waiting until the service was over before making the arrest. According to Foogiano’s attorney Brandon Lewis, the rapper had cut his ankle monitor and fled in order to attend the birth of his son, who was due around the time he disappeared.

Foogiano learned that there was an arrest warrant out for him but decided not to turn himself in. His recently born son brings his total number of children to six. He was also named along with Gucci Mane in a wrongful death lawsuit after a woman was shot to death in a nightclub where the rappers were performing.
