Rick Ross’ $30 Million Mansion Only Cost Him A Fraction Of That, He Reveals

It’s no secret that Rick Ross has a lot of cash, but evidently, he hasn’t made it all purely from his music career. During a recent chat with Dwyane Wade on The Why podcast, he chatted about investing, revealing that he’s always had a strong sense of where to put his money. In the clip, he explains that his sprawling 120-room “Promise Land” estate in Fayetteville, GA was purchased for only $5.9 million. While that’s certainly no measly chunk of change, it’s just a drop in the bucket of what it’s currently worth.

“When I bought the Promise Land I paid $5.9 million for it,” he explains. “It was estimated at over $30 million the last time we had it [appraised].” Not everybody saw Ross’ vision at first, however. According to him, his mother Tommie Roberts wasn’t convinced that the property was a wise purchase. “She’s like, ‘Will, the house got a damn 120 rooms. What the hell are you gonna do with 120 rooms?’”

Rick Ross Chats About His “Promise Land” Property

Luckily, Rick Ross knew that his mother would see the bigger picture eventually. “I knew as long as I had that conversation with her I could convince her… She’s got my back regardless,” he says. “When she stopped questioning me and just looking at me… Because I don’t know, I don’t have the answer every time.” Clearly, Rick Ross had the answer at least that time, as his property is now worth nearly five times as much as what he originally paid for it.

What do you think of Rick Ross revealing that his property in Georgia is now worth nearly five times as much as he paid for it? Are you surprised? What about his mother questioning the purchase in the beginning? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Cardi B And Offset’s Georgia Home Swatted By Police: Watch

Swatting is one of the most dangerous types of hoaxes around and numerous celebrities have been victim to it in recent years. The tips from anonymous callers sharing fake information about reported crimes have caused numerous high-profile individuals to end up in surprise danger when police show up at their residences. Last year this happened to Cardi B and Offset at their home in Sandy Springs, GA. Thankfully the pair weren’t in the house at the time and instead were in Los Angeles while Offset’s uncle was house-sitting.

The swatting happened back in August but newly obtained video by TMZ is sparking renewed interest in it. Reportedly a call came through alleging that shots had been fired and the celebrity couple’s house. The caller may have even insinuated that Cardi herself could have been hit even though she turned out to be on the other side of the country. In the newly released clip, Offset is contacted over the phone. He seems appropriately frustrated by the entire ordeal during his conversation with police in the video.

T.I. Pulled Over By Georgia State Trooper Following Argument With Tiny: Watch

T.I. and Tiny Harris are one of hip-hop’s most well-known couples, and they go through peaks and valleys like any other relationship. Moreover, recent news emerged that a Georgia state trooper pulled him over for speeding, which he said was because of the woman in his passenger seat. However, in video footage of the incident, we never see the woman in question, so it’s unclear if it’s really his wife or not. Regardless, according to Live PD Hardcore, an officer made a traffic stop after they saw a Range Rover speeding on the Atlanta highway.

“You just flew past my door at a very high rate of speed. You drove on the shoulder back there and almost struck that car,” they told the rapper, and asked him to exit the vehicle. “She was getting on my nerves,” T.I. responded, referring to the unidentified woman in his passenger seat. “I apologize. She was getting under my skin. I just wanted to get home as fast as I could so we can get out of the car, and I can go to my space and she can go to her space.” Again, we don’t know if this is Tiny, but unless this exposed an even more scandalous story, this is the next best theory.

T.I.’s Traffic Stop: Watch

Furthermore, T.I. struggled to provide the car’s registration because he apparently bought the Range Rover that same day. While footage of this came out in early December, the officer’s dash cam video doesn’t have the specific date of the traffic stop. Still, the trooper confirmed some information with the car dealership’s owner, and dismissed King and Domani’s father with three citations. As of writing this article, he has yet to address this situation publicly, so hopefully that means that everything smoothed out both in terms of the pull-over and the argument with Tiny.

Meanwhile, the trap music pioneer is feeling quite reflective these days with some family drama to consider. In addition, he recently reflected on his squashed beef with Gucci Mane, and how he feels he waited too long to make it happen. With that in mind, what’s another rap beef that you wish would end with a buried hatchet? Let us know in the comments and come back to HNHH for more news and updates on T.I.

YSL RICO: Young Thug & Co-Defendants Begin Trial With Opening Statements In Georgia

It’s been a long 567 days for Young Thug, who’s spent the majority of that year and a half behind bars awaiting the start of his YSL RICO trial. The hunt for a jury officially began in January. However, due to the rapper’s popularity and the large number of co-defendants, it took a minute to find a group of individuals qualified to determine Thugger’s fate. Today (November 27), the Atlanta native is finally back in court as opening statements begin.

As Pitchfork notes, prosecutors allege that the So Much Fun artist’s YSL (Young Stoner Life) label is also the criminal gang Young Slime Life. Thug – born Jeffrey Williams – was taken into police custody on a massive 56-count indictment last May, pinning crimes on him like murder, assault, robbery, theft, illegal gun possession, and illegal drug possession and sales in the Cleveland Avenue neighbourhood for over a decade.

Young Thug Back in Court as YSL RICO Proceedings Finally Begin

One of the most controversial aspects of the YSL trial is that song lyrics will appear as evidence. In a recently leaked interrogation audio, Thugger laughs at the detective’s questions about him, Lil Wayne, and Birdman being a part of the Bloods, calling their references to gang activity in music, “entertainment.” Luckily for hip-hop heads, everything unfolding in the courtroom today and beyond will be streaming live on Law & Crime‘s YouTube channel, and we’ll be sure to provide you with regular updates as well.

Ahead of today’s highly anticipated court date, social media has been reflecting on the wild rollercoaster that the YSL RICO trial has been before even officially starting. From Lil Keed’s untimely death in the weeks following his labelmate’s arrest to nine people taking plea deals, we could’ve never predicted things would turn out this way for Young Thug and his co-defendants. Read more about that at the link below. Let us know if you think Jeffrey Williams will be coming home when court concludes in the comments.

Quando Rondo Will Not Be Banned From Chatham County, Georgia, Judge Rules

Quando Rondo will not be banned from entering Chatham County in Georgia, despite prosecutors’ attempts otherwise. Chatham County Superior Court Judge Tammy Stokes reached the decision on Monday, according to Savannah Morning News. The attempted ban followed a car crash involving the rapper on July 19. At the scene of the incident, he showed signs of an overdose. Additionally, Rondo was present at a shooting on September 20, in which a group of people including Quando Rondo, were attacked. In response, prosecutors wanted Rondo banned “from the confines of Chatham County except for court appearances, meetings with defense counsel, and medical treatment.”

Denying their request, Judge Stokes argued: “Preliminary investigation suggests that the defendant and/or members of his entourage were the targets of this attack. Based on the State’s case, it appears that the defendant was, in fact, victim. Accordingly, the motion is denied.”

In documents obtained by XXL back in July, authorities wrote that Rondo was, “operating a motor vehicle in Chatham County and was observed traveling at a high rate of speed and ultimately crashed his vehicle [into] another vehicle. Emergency services responded to the scene and the defendant was administered Narcan as he was exhibiting signs of an overdose.” They also added that, “Quando] was subsequently transported to [Memorial Health University Medical Center] where he became belligerent with hospital staff and ultimately had to be sedated. As a result of this incident the Defendant is being charged with a number of traffic offenses.”

Afterward, police began investigating the cause of the car crash. They didn’t provide word on any other reported injuries from the scene. Rondo has yet to comment on the verdict. Be on the lookout for further updates on his legal case on HotNewHipHop.

[WATCH] Four Inmates Including Murder Suspect Escape From Georgia Correctional Facility

Screenshot 2023 10 17 at 10.38.55 AM

It has been reported that four inmates that were detained in a Georgia correctional facility escaped yesterday morning (October 16) through a tempered area in the facility’s perimeter fence, allowing all four to leave the confines of the facility in a getaway car.

Joey Fournier, Marc Kerry Anderson, Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, and Chavis Demaryo Stokes escaped through the window of a second floor dayroom about 3:30 am without being noticed by correctional officers and were not discovered to be missing until 6 am.

A Blue Dodge Challenger was spotted on surveillance video outside of the facility and the U.S Marshals and the FBI are hunting for that vehicle along with its occupants.

Fournier, 52, a white male with gray hair and blue eyes, is charged with murder; Anderson, 24, a Black male with dreadlocks is charged with aggravated assault, Barnwell, 37, a Black male with braids is facing drug and gun charges, while Stokes, 29, a Black male with short black hair was being held in the facility for the U.S. Marshals.

Quando Rondo Faces Potential Ban From Hometown

In a bizarre move, prosecutors in Georgia are seeking to ban rapper Quando Rondo from his hometown. Chatham County prosecutors are seeking to bar Rondo from the City of Savannah due to him being a frequent target of shooting attacks. This includes a September 20 attack at a barbershop where at least two people were shot. Rondo currently resides in Midway, a town about 30 miles from Savannah.

Rondo is currently out on bail for charges relating gang activity as well as a driving under the influence charge. However, under the terms of his bail, Rondo is able to still perform and produce music. Rondo has remained fairly out of the spotlight after receiving a $100K bond back in June. While prosecutors attempted to have his bond revoked in July, Rondo remains a free man. However, he must submit to regular drug testing and must refrain from driving.

Meanwhile, Rondo recently gave an impromptu concert at a local restaurant in Georgia. The video, reshared by DJ Akademiks, shows Rondo standing on a table and performing for a crowd who seems pretty into the impromptu show. However, it’s unclear when or where this pop-up show took place. Regardless, the venue appears to be pretty full and there is a small group of people actively dancing and vibing directly in front of Rondo. It appears, despite his recent legal troubles, there are still plenty of people are down with Rondo’s music.

Reactions to Rondo’s performance were mixed. For a lot of people, they just wanted to have some fun about where he was performing. Both “Dave & Busters” and “Kickbacks” were thrown around liberally in the comments. “I know Foo not performing a hookah lounge,” one person wrote. “Who crib they at,” joked another. Additionally, another user simply commented “million dollar biscuit”. However, for all the jokes, there was also a wave of defenders standing up for Rondo. “At least he came out, he must no ain’t nobody gonna do nothing, w for him,” one person wrote. “Why hate like he did some to y’all personally. Man swear y’all will hate on a bird that can’t fly,” added another. “I don’t care if it 2 people in that mf… he still performed,” a third praised.

Gunna’s Former Attorney Asks For Defendant In Donald Trump RICO Case To Have Trial Severed

Ray Smith is one of the 18 people charged by the state of Georgia in their election interference case against former President Donald Trump. He has now requested a severing of his trial, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Smith, an Atlanta-based attorney, is accused of meeting with alternate GOP electors at the state capitol to have them cast their electoral votes for Trump. He is also accused of having those electors sign false statements declaring Trump the winner of the 2020 election. Furthermore, Smith is accused of submitting falsified documents to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Rafensperger. These documents reportedly declared Trump the winner of the election. Smith was charged with 12 crimes after voluntarily surrendering on August 23.

However, Smith has now requested that his trial be severed from that of the other defendant. “This solution will also reduce the amount of time any jury will be required to be empaneled,” Smith’s legal team wrote. “The experience learned by this Court in the YSL gang trial. Jury selection that lasted (and is still in progress) over eight months, and a trial that is expected to last another eight months (at least) – is a lesson learned that should inform any Court about the dangers of pursuing a joint trial for over a dozen defendants.” As noted in this statement, Smith’s precedent for this is the ongoing YSL RICO trial against Young Thug and other members of the Atlanta organization.

Trump Attorney Cites YSL Trial

“The prosecution, no doubt, will protest that the defendants were part of a nationwide enterprise. The defense will vigorously contest this at trial, but the argument is irrelevant to the issue of severance. The prosecution cannot dictate the length of trial, and the prejudice suffered by the defendants (and the judge, and the jury, and the judicial system in general) simply by overcharging a case and exaggerating the scope of its enterprise,” the statement continued. As previously mentioned, a jury has yet to be seated in the YSL trial. That sprawling case has seen multiple severings, with the number of defendants currently reduced to nine.

Furthermore, there is another notable link between the two cases. Don Samuel, who is serving as Smith’s lead attorney, previously represented Gunna in the YSL case. Infamously, Gunna accepted a plea deal and no longer faces charges, unlike Young Thug and others. However, this has led Gunna to be labeled as a rat by many members of the rap community. At the time of writing, no date has been set to hear the motion on severing Smith’s charges.

Donald Trump: Everything We Know About His Arrest

Former President Donald Trump was indicted for a whopping 4th time and arrested in Georgia on August 24, 2023. The latest charges stem from his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state. Officials accused Trump of unlawfully wielding his influence and power to secure the White House for another four years.

Since that time, Trump has continued to push the false narrative that he won the election and how it was stolen from him. While he’s gotten away with plenty in the past, he may have gone too far this time. Here’s everything you need to know about the charges against Donald Trump and his latest arrest in Georgia.

What Donald Trump Is Accused Of Doing

donald trump
DALLAS, TEXAS – AUGUST 06: Former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). At the Hilton Anatole on August 06, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. (Photo by Brandon Bell/Getty Images)

The embattled 45th president is accused of conspiring with 18 other people, including some who previously worked in his administration, of scheming to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. In a 41-count, 98-page indictment, Donald Trump was hit with 13 felony charges. Some of these include racketeering, making false statements, and solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer.

Donald is accused of calling Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on January 2, 2021. Trump allegedly pressured him to change the results of the state’s election by finding him enough votes to secure victory. Besides being deemed inappropriate, the call was also perceived as threatening. Further, Georgia officials are also accusing Trump of conspiring with his co-defendants in harassing poll workers, trying to appoint new electors to vote for Trump, and trying to access voting machines. Fani Willis, the Fulton County district attorney who also hit Young Thug with RICO charges, has been relentless in going after Trump.

According to the AP, DA Willis said, “The indictment alleges that rather than abide by Georgia’s legal process for election challenges, the defendants engaged in a criminal racketeering enterprise to overturn Georgia’s presidential election result.”

The Arrest Of Donald Trump

Leading up to his arrest, Donald Trump kept teasing it. Since he had a timeframe to turn himself in, he chose August 24 at 7:30 p.m. local time. Being typical Trump, he addressed the controversy on his social media platform, Truth. In part, he posted, “I have to start getting ready to head down to Atlanta, Georgia, where Murder and other Violent Crimes have reached levels never seen before, to get ARRESTED by a Radical Left, Lowlife District Attorney, Fani Willis, for A PERFECT PHONE CALL, and having the audacity to challenge a RIGGED & STOLLEN ELECTION. THE EVIDENCE IS IRREFUTABLE! ARREST TIME: 7:30 P.M.”

Donald Trump milked every moment and arrived in his private jet, dubbed the “Trump Force One.” Like every other defendant in Fulton County, Mr. Trump had to take a mugshot. Boy, oh boy, did he take a mugshot. Staring right at the camera with a scowl that gave new meaning to “if looks could kill,” Trump left an impression that will last a lifetime. After posting his $200,000 bond, Donald Trump was on his way to continue his life and campaigning for another term in office.

Some of Trump’s co-conspirators include the man once known as America’s mayor and Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani. Fulton County also indicted former Trump White House aide Mark Meadows. Leader of “Black Voices for Trump” Harrison Floyd and former Kanye West publicist Trevian Kutti were also indicted and arrested.

What Could Happen To Donald Trump

Currently, Donald Trump is making a ton of money, capitalizing off of merch with his now-infamous mugshot. He’s also leading the polls for the Republican nomination for the 2024 election. While Trump is taking it all in stride and making his situation no big deal, he’s facing some severe consequences. He’s set to be arraigned in Georgia on September 6 at 9:30 a.m.

Along with the other pending cases in other states, Trump is facing hundreds of years behind bars. However, that is highly unlikely given he’s a former president, wealth, and influence. Although his arrest was touted as proving Trump was not above the law, everything surrounding it differed from the typical defendant. But, when it comes to Donald Trump, nothing is ordinary.
