The Grammy-nominated artist took a few moments to show her appreciation to her black female fanbase for believing in her. “I just wanted to thank black women, specifically. But, before anyone who had bought my albums or thought I was cute and I had anything on Billboard, black women came to my shows.” She continues, “They stood up for me from the jump, they connected with me and I’m so, so grateful to be black and amongst family.” Interestingly, some fans loved her speech while others thought it was a bit strange. One person goes, “If a white woman said this all hell would break loose 💀” Regardless of all the debate, it is great to see SZA continue to flourish and our continued support goes out to her!

What are your initial thoughts on SZA’s speech at the Femme It Forward Award Show? Do you think anything was wrong with what she said? Is she the best female artist in the world right now? Lola Brooke’s “Dennis Daughter” Is A Bold Debut Featuring Bryson Tiller, Coi Leray, And More

Lola Brooke may be small, but she’s still a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Now that her debut album, Dennis Daughter, has finally landed on DSPs, it’s more evident than ever that the femcee isn’t coming to play as her star continues to rise. The 12-track effort comes after singles like “Pit Stop” featuring French Montana and “You” with Bryson Tiller. Before that, Brooke also dropped off the “Don’t Play With It” remix in tandem with Latto and Yung Miami.

The only previously unheard features to appear on Dennis Daughter come from Coi Leray and Nija on “Don’t Get Me Started.” The rest of Brooke’s debut finds her delivering rhymes by herself, from “Intro (2023 Flow)” to the penultimate track, “God Bless All The Rappers.” Hip-hop heads are already offering plenty of braise to the New Yorker for her hard work on social media, and more is sure to roll in as she racks up streams this weekend.

Ice Spice Twerking GIF Goes Viral After Bronx Baddie Retweets Herself Baring It All

From her breakout single, “Munch (Feelin’ U)” to now, Ice Spice has never shied away from embracing her sexuality. Like many other rap divas, she’s frequently twerking both on stage and in her local deli, often wearing outfits that show off almost her entire behind. Currently, Spice is on the road with Doja Cat and Doechii for the Scarlet Tour, meaning we’ve been getting regular performance videos and iconic new looks from the 23-year-old.

To kick off yet another week, Spice decided to help bring attention to a twerking GIF of her that’s been going viral on Twitter. “[She] was WILD for this…” the original poster wrote, including a look at the New Yorker in her signature plaid schoolgirl skirt, which left both of her booty cheeks peaking out the bottom. While rapping into the microphone, Spice bounces her hips along to the beat which we can’t hear before bending forward and giving nearly a full look at what’s between her legs – if her hand didn’t provide some modesty.

Ice Spice Puts on One Hell of a Live Show

On its own, the tweet received nearly 170K likes and 14K retweets, many of them from fans thirsting after Spice. When she reposted it to her profile with a row of heart-eyes emojis, more people (we’re talking over eight million) were allowed to drool over the femcee and her famous hourglass figure. Not everyone approves of her salacious antics, but that’s not stopping Isis Gaston from living her best life and flaunting what she’s got.

If you’ve ever wondered where Ice Spice gets her good genes from, it’s at least in part her mother. Months after the redhead skyrocketed to fame, social media sleuths were able to uncover images of her mom that prove they often look more like sisters than a mother-daughter duo. While Spice dressed as Betty Boop for Halloween 2023 and subsequently went viral, Mrs. Gaston did the same while showing slightly less skin as Wednesday Addams. Catch a video of her in costume at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Brandy’s “Christmas Party for Two” Single Will Get You In The Holiday Spirit Early This Year

The first week of November may seem a bit early for some to be blasting Christmas music, but according to Brandy, there’s no time like the present to prepare for the season of giving. This past New Music Friday (Nov. 3), the songbird unveiled her first solo original holiday song, titled “Christmas Party for Two.” The sultry single is the first we’ve heard from next week’s festive album, and based on what she’s serving up vocally, we’re sure things will only get hotter as we celebrate Christmas With Brandy on November 10.

Brandy’s new arrival boasts production by Ron “Neff-U” Feemster and David Williams III, which beautifully compliments her singing. “Let me sit beside ya / I warmed up some cider / I’ll relax your mind ’cause / I can recognize you need someone to make you feel the way that I do,” she croons on the first verse. When the chorus comes around, she lyricizes about getting undressed for her lover, and being his present in exchange for feeling his presence with her. “That’s all that I’m askin’ of you,” Brandy promises him.

Shenseea & Lola Brooke’s “Beema” Single & Music Video Bring The Baddie Energy

Shortly after confirming that her debut album is on the way, Lola Brooke continues to make her presence felt with a new collaboration. So far in 2023, we’ve heard the rising star connect with acts like French Montana, Bryson Tiller, Latto, and Yung Miami. This New Music Friday (November 3), it was Shenseea who Brooke joined forces with as the island gyal channelled her Jamaican roots for an infectious new single called “Beema.”

Shenseea’s beau, London on da Track came through with production, alongside Dready and Philip Cornish. The song begins with a sample of Louie Rankin setting the tone, declaring, “Don’t you ever bring scared business to me.
You’re lookin’ at the toughest rassclaat Jamaican in the United States of America.” When it’s her turn to show off her rhyming skills, the mother of one doesn’t hold back, spitting “You gon’ make me flash on a b**ch like paparazzi / I’m too fly to crash out, but f**k it, kamikaze” as the first verse concludes.

Shenseea Taps Lola Brooke for “Beema”

For her part, Brooke closes “Beema” out with big energy. “Even D1 players couldn’t hold up / Body like milk, nah, coca’,” she gasses herself up, perfectly matching Shenseea’s confidence. In the accompanying music video, both women glow while showing off for the camera, riding around in a Rolls Royce together before stopping outside a Miami store to rhyme the rest of the track.

Check out Shenseea’s latest visual for “Beema” featuring Lola Brooke above. If you think the song will be in rotation for you this fall, you can find it on Spotify/Apple Music. Lil Kim Asks “Who Got My Panties?” After Throwing Them At Atlanta Crowd

Atlanta is always a city that’s full of creative energy and famous faces. That reached its peak earlier this week as the annual ONE MusicFest took over. 2023 brought about a seriously stacked lineup, with Kendrick Lamar, Janet Jackson, Brent Faiyaz, Megan Thee Stallion, and Bryson Tiller being among the biggest acts. Tems, Kodak Black, Coi Leray, and Smino also made the list, along with the one and only Lil Kim. As we previously reported, the latter rap diva got particularly rowdy during her set, even tossing her panties into the audience who had her turning all the way up.

“Atlanta, thank you for your energy, it was amazing,” Kim wrote on Twitter on Friday (November 3) afternoon. Along with the commemorative message, the fashionista also included a video recapping her time in ATL, showcasing previews of her performance, as well as artists like Eric Bellinger and Slim Jxmmi who also killed it. “Despite the technical difficulties, that was out of my control,” Kim assured her fans of the minor slip-ups they might’ve seen online.

Lil Kim Had the Time of Her Life in Atlanta

Before wrapping up her post, the 49-year-old had to ask, “Btw, who got my panties?” At this time, no one has taken responsibility for nabbing the Queen Bee’s lingerie. However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see them listed for sale online in the near future. While people couldn’t help Kim locate her underwear’s new owner, they did make it clear they’re ready for her to unleash her “Nice Ice” single, and anything else she’s been working on.

Lil Kim loves the spotlight, and she’s a professional at commanding it with her iconic dance moves and legendary lyrics. Still, that doesn’t mean the New York native is afraid to give other artists on the rise their flowers. Most recently, she invited Sukihana to join her for her ONE Fest performance, which the reality starlet called “a dream come true.” Read more about that crossover at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Khia Reads Sexyy Red For Filth After “Hater” Diss, Pregnant Star Claps Back

It’s been a notably tense few weeks in the world of hip-hop, and as Scorpio season wages on, it doesn’t seem as though that’s going to be changing. Currently, Khia and Sexyy Red’s beef is taking centre stage, following a new video from the former that reads the latter to filth. “We the people vs. fugly, non-Sexyy knocked-up a** Red,” her lengthy rant aimed at the St. Louis native begins. “Your a** is being charged with not being ashamed of your God d**n self. Doing h*e s**t then being mad about it. Being a deadbeat mama, a deadbeat daddy, a deadbeat daughter, and a deadbeat Young Thug lookalike,” Khia went on.

The “My Neck, My Back” hitmaker then compared Red to a “wrinkled bedsheet” while labelling herself a queen. “Suckin’ on toes and balls at the same d**n time. Getting pissed and shi**ed on and tryna come for a real Queen,” Khia continued to list her opp’s various charges. “Tryna clap back with the Clap,” and “looking like some crust in a ni**as drawers” also made the list, along with the Philly native’s theories about Sexyy being unable to deliver her baby vaginally due to a history of STIs.

Of course, it didn’t long for Red to see the diss video herself. As per usual, she didn’t let it get under her skin. Instead, she called Khia “jealous and miserable” for throwing so much shade before posting an unflattering throwback image of the mother of two on her own IG feed.

To add insult to injury, the “Pound Town” hitmaker also included an unattractive meme for users to compare to Khia’s look. Currently, the internet seems divided as to who really won the women’s latest bout of beef.

Hood Hottest Princess Claps Back

Now that Khia has said all that’s running through her mind about Sexyy Red, some are suggesting that Sukihana may be her next target. The L&HH cast member threatened to “knock Khia tf out” earlier this month, as we’re curious to see how the elder rap diva will respond. Stunna Girl Lives Her Best Life “Courtesy Of A Rich Ni**a”: Stream New Single

We’re about to embark on the final two months of 2023. All year long, the women of hip-hop have been seriously holding it down. Reality star Stunna Girl is among those who’ve been contributing to the genre’s growth, kicking things off with “Pretty Face Shotta” back in May and only getting hotter from there. “Sweat,” Like Dat,” “Pretty Privilege,” and “Real Rap” are among solo efforts she’s delivered throughout the spring and fall so far. As for collaborations, we’ve heard Stunna working with names like French Montana, RichMula500, and JT of City Girls, proving that her star is only rising higher in the industry.

This New Music Friday (October 27), the 25-year-old shared a new single and visual, “Courtesy Of A Rich Ni**a,” that proves just how spoiled she is by her other half. “This song was inspired by my husband and how he spoils me,” Stunna told Lyrical Lemonade. “But also myself and how I’ma boss on my own. The record is real player. It’s for people who grind like myself and have a companion who matches their fly.”

Azealia Banks Faces Her “DILEMMA” On New Single: Stream

If there’s one thing Azealia Banks is always good for, it’s talking her s**t. Unfortunately for fans of the “212” hitmaker’s music, it’s been a minute since we’ve heard her delivering disses over genre-bending production like only she can. Instead, Banks has notably spent the past few years lashing out at virtually every other artist in the industry. Few have been spared from her explicit rants, though now that she’s turning her focus back to music, it’s possible we may see less hate posting from the witty lyricist.

This New Music Friday (October 27), Banks finally delivered “DILEMMA,” which was previously teased on social media. The short, infectious single was produced by Chad Dexter, Adalberto, DeQuesada, and Theplayxobeats, crafting a perfect soundscape for the notoriously sassy recording artist to lay down her bars on. “Get with it / I see you sendin’ ’em shots, y’all ni**as opps, I ain’t miss s**t,” Azealia spits seconds in. “Take my quick hit, uh / And I’m blowin’ your brains, best believe I won’t miss this.”

Azealia Banks Prepares Fans for Long-Awaited Business & Pleasure Album

As Genius notes, the song is set to appear on the tracklist of Banks’ long-awaited Business & Pleasure LP. It’s been in the works since 2015, with May 2019 scheduled as the original release date. October of that year saw another failed attempt at putting out the album, which we could finally get an update on now that the East Coast rap diva is sharing her work with the world again. The only other track we’ve heard her on in 2023 is “New Bottega” with Torren Foot just before spring began.

Chrisean Rock & Jaidyn Alexis’ New Singles Both Top 10 On TikTok’s Music Chart

Despite all the feuding that they do, Chrisean Rock and Jaidyn Alexis actually have quite a bit in common. What brings them together is obviously their shared connection with Blueface, and working with the California native to further their music careers has helped both women in their own way. Since giving birth to the baby boy she shares with him, Rock has been distancing herself from Blue, instead collaborating with her beau, Lil Mabu, on a song called “MR. TAKE YA B*TCH.”

The new arrival notably dissed the “Thotiana” rapper and was mostly penned by Chrisean’s man. While a war of words ensued on Twitter after that dropped, Alexis and Blue are focusing their energy almost entirely on furthering her as an artist thanks to the success of her “Barbie” single. They may not find commercial success, but on the TikTok Music Chart for Thursday (October 26), the Baltimore native nabbed the No. 5 spot while Jaidyn came just behind her at No. 6.

Both of Blue’s baby mamas have been subject to public ridicule since meeting him, but still, music lovers can’t help but weigh in on who has the better plan. “Jaidyn is a single, Chrisean is a feature,” one person pointed out in @theneighborhoodtalk’s comments. “It doesn’t hold the same weight.” Elsewhere, another user chimed in with, “Jaidyn has a good hook, that’s all. Chrisean got people singing her entire verse word for word.”

As Chrisean Rock and Jaidyn Alexis continue to do numbers on TikTok, the former is finally speaking out on the latter’s engagement to their baby daddy. According to the Baddies cast member (and other social media sleuths), Blueface only proposed to his MILF Music signee as a publicity stunt.
