Ice Spice has a couple of big hits and a signature sound all her own, but it’s starting to tire out a lot of her core fanbase. Moreover, she recently shared a new song snippet with her die-hards on social media, and as you can see in the comments section of the Instagram post below, they aren’t super impressed. This is because it sounds very similar to these other tracks. Sure, every single Jersey/drill beat can’t always sound unique, but the Bronx femcee has a lot of potential to experiment with more flows and fittingly attack other styles of production.

In fact, Ice Spice fans prompted a lot of viral discussions around her as of late, one of these being her sudden weight loss. While some fans claim that she uses Ozempic, her recent post of her intense workout routine seems to discredit that or at least make it a less likely possibility. Either way, the 24-year-old faces more pressure than most in every aspect of her career. We can’t say that demands for her to switch up her sound aren’t invalid, but rarely before did young careers like these have so many backseat drivers clamoring to design its path forward.

Elsewhere, the supposed beef between Ice Spice and Latto continues to be a big part of their narratives on social media. “Um, is it true you got beef with Ice Spice?” 2 Chainz’s son hilariously asked the Atlanta femcee during their podcast episode. “Oh my God, here we go,” she answered. “Let me tell you something, Halo. I don’t got a problem with nobody ’cause beef is a different thing, you feel me? That’s a whole different type of conversation. Big Sean has finally released his new album Better Me Than You, and fans are quite happy to witness his growth and development as a rapper. Moreover, there were all sorts of reactions online, many of them being impressed praises of the new project. Of course, there were also plenty of folks who chose not to listen to it at all, which is surely its own form of disappointment and frustration when compared to the people that actively disliked what they heard. Nevertheless, the Detroit MC has a lot he should be proud of on this new LP, especially after what he endured to make it here.

“When you make art, you put your heart into this s**t,” Big Sean said earlier this week on Instagram Live, tearfully addressing his new album and his career trajectory. “When I had COVID last week, I was down. And I was still working on the album. When I last dropped an album, it was COVID. I was excited to plan my release party, I was excited to do all of that. [My mother,] she was giving me them words. And I was just like, look, I can keep working on some s**t and make it exactly how I wanted. But I’d be pushing it back forever.”

That’s at least what the iconic rapper and singer feels is the case, according to past quotes from her Instagram. “Some media outlet’s penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales for the North American portion of the tour”. That’s what she feels led to her ultimately having to cancel the reunion tour in the states. Her making last minute changes to performances is nothing new, although past injuries have been a consistent sidelining factor. Still, it’s been a constant theme and fellow band mate Pras has taken notice of it as well.

In fact, he was even dissing Lauryn Hill on an unreleased song not too long ago. However, he claims it had nothing to do with her, the timing of it certainly would suggest otherwise. The two respective superstars, and pop legend Madonna, all united for “Popular”. The 80s synth-pop/pop rap track was one of the first soundtrack cuts for Abel Tesfaye’s HBO exclusive TV show, The Idol. Sadly, the program turned out to be a major flop, but the single did not. For how cooky the track came across at its inception, it did a respectable job on the charts, peaking and debuting at 43 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In this case, it was more of a grower, as it is now certified platinum as of June 20, 2024. Furthermore, it also made its way onto the deluxe version of The Weeknd’s The Highlights compilation record. Finally, “Popular” sits at nearly 900 million streams, good enough for the fifth spot on his most popular on Spotify. Since the release of this single, it seems that The Weeknd and Playboi Carti are pretty good buddies. For example, the label head iced out the Dawn FM creator with some custom XO/Opium iced out jewelry.

Sexyy Red Discreetly Cancels Multiple Tour Stops

According to some digging from theJasmineBrand, the St. Louis, Missouri MC is already having to cancel a handful of shows for her second headlining tour. Sexyy Red 4 President is supposed to get underway tomorrow, August 22, in Seattle Washington at WAMU Theater. Sadly, though, that won’t be happening. Additionally, her stops in Portland (August 23) and Oakland (August 26) are also ixnayed.

So, with that known, she will not be hitting the road until Saturday, August 24, in Atlanta, Georgia at State Farm Arena. What’s pretty interesting here is that the hitmaker did not make any announcements on her social media. There’s nothing on X nor Instagram and it’s got some fans reacting pretty sourly, unsurprisingly. “B**** I’m trying so hard not to cure sexyy red out. While this may be a shocking development to some, there were some previous reports proving that this was a true possibility. In early July, The Art Of Dialogue and Touring Data found that just 37.11 percent of the 85,217 tickets were sold back then. Now, it isn’t clear how many have been scooped up since that time. As a little PSA to any YouTuber joker out there, you never know how a stranger is going to react to your shenanigans.

In the case of Kevin Gates, he doesn’t like being messed with. In this instance, a teenager is walking around a mall trying to get people to say crude things. You could contribute a lot of the Pompano Beach, Florida rapper’s setbacks to his nagging addiction to drugs. However, earlier this year, the “ZEZE” MC did say that he was getting his life back on track. “I ain’t even going to say I’m anti-Perc. Like, I never took a Perc since I been home. But bro, my dosage so low that I can’t believe it myself. Man, I’m telling y’all, bro”. People started to recognize that he was looking healthier, especially women with some even labeling him “fine”.

However, there have also been a few instances this year where’s he seemed to revert back to his vices. In fact, it was just a few weeks ago that a video of him went viral in which he felt like he was “finna glitch”. Before blurring out his hand and face, he did appear to swallow a handful of pills on an IG Live session. The reason we are rehashing all of this is because Kodak Black seems to be down in the dumps right now. According to a post of a screenshot from DJ Akademiks, Black seemed to have to come to a harsh reality.
