Joe Budden Thinks Future & Metro Boomin Will Sabotage OVO Fest

Joe Budden is always looking for the angle. He’s been chronicling the feud between Drake, Future and Metro Boomin on his podcast, and he thinks the next chess moves will be made on the road. The former rapper theorized that Future and Metro Boomin will purposely schedule their tour in an effort to ruin the attendance for Drake’s upcoming OVO fest in Toronto. He went as far as to say that the duo will enlist the help of another Canadian superstar, The Weeknd, to drive the point home.

Budden noticed that Future and Metro’s Toronto date may line up with the same weekend as OVO Fest. If true, he’s confident Drake will push the dates back. “If The Weeknd comes out on that Future tour stop,” he noted. “I have Drake moving that weekend. He’s moving the weekend.” The rest of the podcast panel hated Budden’s theory. Regardless, he stood his ground. “This wouldn’t be the first time he moved OVO fest,” he added. “I don’t think there’s any shame in that when you spend as much money and as much manpower to put this weekend together.”

Joe Budden insisted that The Weeknd was the key artist in this game of concert chicken. He believes if the “Starboy” singer shows up to the Future show, it will take the wind out of Drake’s sails. His rationale is that Weeknd is a bigger artist. “I would think that the second day of OVO Fest has a greater turnout the day there’s not a Future show,” he posited. “Cuse that’s a weekend. That’s a whole weekend.”

The feud between these artists is not letting up. Firstly, Future and Metro dropped the “Like That” remix with more Drake disses. Secondly, The Weeknd crooned a few disses on the duo’s song “All to Myself.” Future also guested on Nardo Wick’s “Back to Back,” which saw him mock Drake using his own song titles. It’s safe to assume these artists will be performing their diss records in Toronto. If Drake does decided to move forward with OVO fest the same weekend, however, fans will be forced to pick sides. Future Disses Drake (Again) On Nardo Wick Single “Back To Back”

Future wasn’t going to stay silent forever. Future and Metro Boomin were the ones who turned the rest of the hip-hop industry against Drake by releasing the pointedly titled albums WE DON’T LIKE YOU and WE STILL DON’T LIKE YOU. They clearly have a problem with the 6 God, and they teamed up with every rap star who feels the same way to bomb on him. Future has been suspiciously quiet since the collab albums dropped, however, leading many to ask whether he was still in the battle. Fans got their answer on April 25.

Future linked up with Nardo Wick for the new single “Back to Back,” and you can guess where this is all going based on the title. The song isn’t as pointed as Drake’s 2015 diss, especially considering Wick’s general first verse. It’s only when Future hops on for a second verse that the purpose of “Back to Back” becomes clear. Pluto raps about “sliming out” an unnamed op and smashing a woman as soon as he met her. One of Drake’s recent hits was “Slime You Out” with SZA, and the feud between him and Future is rumored to be over a woman.

Future then uses the words “diss” and “back to back” in the same line. “Ain’t gon’ be no n**ga who dissin’ you, I’m spinnin’ back to back,” he spits. “Any n**ga save on the issue, I’m goin’ rat-a-tat (Brrt).” Future knows all eyes are on him in 2024, so there’s little to no chances these bars are coincidental. He wraps up the verse by threatening violence against his target. “Fifty bullets sittin’ in the clip, it got a n**ga arrogant. Murderers on murderers do murders, my natural habitat.”

Drake has been focused on battling Kendrick Lamar and generally ignoring others. It’ll be interesting to see if he takes time out to respond to Pluto’s latest subs.

Metro Boomin Denies Pusha T’s Involvement In Drake Beef

Kanye West’s “Like That” remix has really given a whole new set of possibilities in the Drake beef (which, at this point, is actually unfair to call a civil war when it’s more like a coup d’état). A lot of folks thought that Metro Boomin and Future would then call on even more people to join the battle, but if this specific example is anything to go off of, it seems like this was more Ye’s initiative than it was an agreement to any proposal from the duo. That’s because the St. Louis producer shut down rumors that Pusha T would be added into the mix with another rendition of “Like That.”

Moreover, folks allegedly saw a tweet in Metro Boomin’s likes that had an interesting proposition (we say “allegedly” because it’s not available anymore at press time). “I hope its pusha, not for the beef but i just need some new bars from him,” a user replied to someone previewing that who’s next on the remix will be something wild. When pages began to cover this and interpret it as a tease towards Pusha T verse on “Like That,” Metro replied to one in particular with a simple message: “fake news.” It’s unclear whether the false claim in question here is the Twitter like, the proposition, or both.

Either way, there are a couple of different reasons as to why Pusha T probably won’t be dissing Drake anytime soon. For one, time and time again, he’s made it clear via interviews, social media posts, and other communication methods that he’s not interested in returning to that ring. The Boy didn’t even respond to “The Story Of Adidon”; why should the Clipse MC bother? While he hasn’t been above teasing his former opponent about his loss, or joking about his unscathed emergence from that whole debacle, he probably doesn’t see this as an important battle unless, for some reason, Drizzy specifically seeks that smoke out six years later.

Meanwhile, as for the idea of a “Like That” remix itself, we know that the “Runaway” duo isn’t as tight as they used to be. As such, we doubt that Ye would be the one to bring his former G.O.O.D. Rick Ross References Millie Bobby Brown Amidst Drake Beef

Rick Ross will not let up. The Maybach Music mogul has spent the last week bombing on Drake, both in the form of music and Instagram posts. He’s doing everything he can to make life difficult for the Toronto rapper, and he just crossed a threshold that nobody has dared approach. During a recent IG Story, Ross promoted his upcoming car show by bringing up the controversial friendship between Drake and actress Millie Bobby Brown. If the gloves weren’t off already, they are now.

Rozay’s car show promotion looked to be a rare IG post without a Drake reference, but he couldn’t help himself. The rapper pointed to one of his prized vehicles and hyped it up by comparing it to the Stranger Things actress. “That right there,” he said off camera. “I know Drake woulda loved that like Millie Bobby Brown.” It was a shocking statement within the context of the promo, but one that fans have been waiting to hear from one Drake’s enemies. Drake’s connection to Brown is, undoubtedly, one of the most controversial aspects of his career. It was only a matter of time before someone mentioned it.

Rick Ross Brought Up Drake’s Biggest Controversy

Drake and Brown first met in 2017, when the latter was a breakout star on Netflix’s Stranger Things. She told W Magazine that she and Drake texted on occasion, despite the fact she was only 14 years old. She later revealed that the rapper gave her dating advice, which many felt was inappropriate behavior. Brown has maintained that Drake has been nothing but a friend, but fans are still leery of the rapper’s behavior.

Drake dismissed the claims that he was romantically interested in Brown on the 2023 song “Another Late Night.” He called anyone who believed he was being predatory a “weirdo” and co-signed Brown’s side of the story. “Weirdos in my comments talkin’ ‘bout some Millie Bobby, look,” he rapped. “Bring them jokes up to the gang, we get to really flockin’. Or send a finger to your mama in some FedEx boxes.”

Jay Electronica Comments On Drake Battle In The Most Jay Elect Way Possible

There are two kinds of rappers these days. The ones who are beefing with Drake, and the ones who have opinions about the Drake beef. Jay Electronica falls under the latter group. The New Orleans rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to weigh in on the biggest hip-hop narrative of 2024, and he did so in a way that was classic Jay Elect. Instead of coming and stating how he felt, the rapper dropped references to two classic films.

The first film Jay Electronica referenced was Good Night, and Good Luck (2005). The Oscar-nominated drama is about Edward R. Murrow, a TV journalist who dared to push against the Red Scare narrative put forth by Joseph R. McCarthy in the 1950s. The rapper tweeted the title of the film, which is an expression meant to convey the notion that one must rely on themselves in the face of tremendous adversity. The same kind of adversity Drake is facing from every corner of the music industry at the moment.

“Good Night and Good Luck” was also the title of a Drake song from 2008. The song was Drake’s first ever diss, and it helped him to demolish a Toronto rapper named Aristo. It’s unclear if Jay Electronica quoted the expression with the context of Drake’s battle history in mind, but given his rapping abilities, it’s certainly possible.

The other film Jay Elect referenced was First Blood (1982), the first entry in the Rambo franchise. The specific scene sees Rambo’s ex-commander warn the local sheriff not to challenge the Vietnam veteran. “Are you telling me that 200 men against your boy is a no-win situation?,” the sheriff asks, to which the ex-commander states: “If you send that many don’t forget one thing. A good supply of body bags.”

The parallel Jay Elect is making between Rambo and Drake are obvious, as both men are being forced into battle with their backs against the wall. Drake even dressed up like the action hero in the music video for “Way 2 Sexy.” Given that Rambo is a legendary killing machine, it’s safe to infer that Jay Electronica is confident in Drake’s ability to succeed.

Rick Ross Disses Drake Over Birdman Foreclosure: “Don’t Do Stunna Like That”

Rick Ross doesn’t waste time. The Miami rapper had a response track ready three hours after the release of Drake’s “Push Ups” diss. DJ Akademiks posted a screenshot of Drake making fun of Ross’ fortune on Instagram, and Rozay claps back minutes later with a challenge. He wants Drake to put his money where his mouth is, and claimed that the rapper has 48 hours to help his label boss, Birdman, find a new home. He even scouted a few nearby locations to make the process easier.

Ross grabbed a bottle of Rose (naturally) and hopped on Instagram Live to issue his challenge. “I saw you say that you got more money than Ricky Rozay,” he said. “And let’s assume you did. Well your best friend, Birdman, his house went into foreclosure. You done watched that man struggle for five years and ain’t get that man a mansion.” Ross’ facts check out, as Birdman was forced to sell his baller mansion for $10.85 million in 2018. Birdman bought the mansion for $14.5 million, according to New York Post, which means he netted a loss of nearly $5 million.

Ross urged Drake to use his wealth to buy Birdman another mansion. “Cuse if you got more money than Rozay, what’s another $50 million, white boy? Don’t do Stunna like that. C’mon man.” The rapper threw in a few mocking bird sounds before setting a time on the clock. “48 hours, the countdown has begun,” he announced. Ross twisted the knife a bit further by telling Drake to be safe flying around in his “old” jet. “That’s a 1978, be safe on that, Drizzy.”

Rick Ross rightfully pointed out that none of his MMG artists have been kicked out of their homes. “Ain’t none of my n***as went in foreclosure,” the rapper yelled. Ross may have less money in his bank account than Drake, but the decision to involve Birdman is smart given the label boss recently voiced his support for Drake in the ongoing beef. Stunna wrote “I’m ridin with you 4L” on his IG Story, which should come as no surprise given the antagonistic relationship he’s had with Ross over the years.

Metro Boomin Exposed For Praising Drake In A Plethora Of Old Tweets

Metro Boomin and Drake are at odds right now. Overall, their feud has been growing for months, although it has seemingly hit its peak. Once Kendrick Lamar dissed Drake and J Cole on “Like That,” it seemed as though all bets were off. Subsequently, Drake came through with his own diss track this weekend, simply called “Push Ups.” On the song, he takes aim at Metro with one perfectly placed line. It was a humorous line, and fans are already excited to see how this is all going to play out, moving forward.

Throughout the morning, Drake has continued to take aim at Metro. Ultimately, some fans feel as though it is a weak move, especially when you consider how Drizzy can rap back, while Metro cannot. That said, with Metro under the microscope, fans have been going on his Twitter account and looking for reasons to clown on him. As it turns out, they have found a plethora of tweets from over 10 years ago, in which Metro can be seen praising the megastar. Of course, these posts are aside from the one we reported on a few hours ago.

All of these tweets are exceptionally complimentary of Drake. They make it seem as though Metro was a huge Drake fan growing up. Of course, that is probably very well the case. These two have even made tons of hits together. Along the way, something went wrong, and now there seems to be some real hatred there. Drake Reference Track From Lil Yachty Surfaces, DJ Akademiks Thinks Metro Boomin Leaked It

The Metro Boomin and Drake beef, which obviously has a lot of other moving parts, got an interesting development to kick this week off. Moreover, following the online spread of an alleged reference track that Lil Yachty made for Drizzy’s “Jumbotron S**t Poppin,” folks like DJ Akademiks and more claimed that Metro was the one to leak this. This is because a couple of people claimed to receive the .mp3 file via a random Atlanta number, and because the current feud narrative makes it hard to see this in any other context. But at the end of the day, there are a few reasons as to why this is not only nothing new, but downright meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

First off, it’s really impossible to know whether or not Metro Boomin was actually the person to send this leak out. If you’re basing it off of who’s in Atlanta, Drake is such a dominant and unstoppable artist that there are probably people in every city that would want to see his downfall. That’s not even to mention the other players in this beef who are outside of the A who might be going to extra lengths to cover their tracks. Still, this is all purely speculative and worthless at the end of the day, especially considering how prolific and numerous leakers have been in this Internet age.

Second, if this really was Metro Boomin and he wanted to leak this reference track from Lil Yachty to Drake to make the OVO mogul look bad… so? Who cares? The Let’s Start Here. creative is literally credited as a producer and a writer on not just this specific Her Loss (2022) cut, but multiple. Reference tracks only hurt when their clients don’t credit their creators. In fact, folks tried to accuse Kendrick Lamar of this over the weekend, and since then, there has been much more scrutiny as multiple factors seemed to debunk it.

Kendrick Lamar is probably the biggest and most important name in this beef alongside Drake, and things are still quiet on the pgLang front after “Like That”… for now. But if the St. Louis producer or anyone else was actually trying to get at the 6ix God for this, better luck next time. Not all reference tracks are created equal. Pusha T Reignites Drake Feud By Belittling Rapper’s “Mob Talk”

Pusha T and Drake engaged in a memorable feud back in 2018. Overall, it began with Push dissing Drake on his album Daytona. The finale track “Infrared” contained the bars aimed at Drizzy, and fans were intrigued. Subsequently, Drake came back with “Duppy Freestyle” which was very clearly aimed at Push. However, things took a wild turn once the Virginia rapper dropped off “The Story Of Adidon.” This is where Pusha T revealed that Drake had a child. It was a wild revelation, and it certainly shook up the rap game.

Drake never responded to “Story Of Adidion” although he has had some slick subliminal over the years. That said, most fans remember his appearance on The Shop in which LeBron essentially consoled him for what went down. Since then, fans have ultimately declared Push the winner. Regardless of what the charts may say, there is no doubt that he outclassed Drake in that beef. In fact, with the whole rap game coming for Drake, one fan took to social media with praise for Push.

“I just wanted to point out that after all these years of mob talk from Drake, nobody ever laid a finger on Pusha T,” the fan wrote. Push saw the tweet and ushered a reply, saying “not a pinky nail…” with a laughing crying emoji. Clearly, Pusha T still has his feud with Drake on his mind. However, we doubt anything will come of this particular comment. After all, Drake has Kendrick Lamar, Future, Metro Boomin, and Rick Ross to worry about.

Metro Boomin Blames Hacker For “All Those Corny Tweets,” And Fans Aren’t Buying It

Metro Boomin has been extremely active on social media these past few weeks. Furthermore, he has taken some slick shots at Drake before deleting his tweets. This has led to some clap backs from Drizzy himself, and fans are curious as to how this all originated. Additionally, with the track “Like That” on Metro and Future’s album We Don’t Trust You, it is clear that the Drake feud is very much alive and well. Kendrick Lamar is on the song, and again, he delivered an outstanding verse. However, fans remain confused as to how this all began.

On Tuesday, Metro Boomin took to Twitter where he revealed that his phone number and social media accounts were hacked. Moreover, there was seemingly a connection to Drake here as he revealed that a Toronto phone number has been calling his phone incessantly. In the tweet below, Metro blames anything corny that he may have tweeted, on the hackers themselves. “Jus got my phone # and accounts back today somebody hacked me the day the album dropped smh and all those corny ass tweets all my day 1s know that’s nowhere in my character,” he wrote.

Metro Boomin Explains What Happened

As you can see in the quote tweets down below, no one actually believes Metro was hacked. Or if he was, indeed, hacked, the hacker had nothing to do with his Twitter habits specifically. In fact, there are some people who are trying to say that Metro is going out sad right now. After all, “Like That” is the number one song in the country right now, and that should probably be enough. We’ll probably never know if a hacker was truly responsible for his tweets. But if he is telling the truth, then the timing is quite curious.
