Ransom Lives Up To Drake’s Challenge, Freestyles Over “Evil Ways” Instrumental

Veteran Brooklyn rapper, Ransom, has been keeping busy throughout the year. In 2023, he has put out three short projects. What is interesting, is that he treated his loyal fans to a double dosage. On July 4, he dropped two of his efforts, Directors Cut 4 and Year One.

Now, he is back with a brand-new freestyle that is not available on your typical streaming platforms. You can find it on YouTube, or you can click the link down below. It is titled “Evil Ways FREESTYLE” and it runs for two minutes and 43 seconds. As soon as you start listening to it, you will instantly recognize the beat, as it is a very recent one.

Listen To “Evil Ways FREESTYLE” By Ransom

The title might also be a dead giveaway as well. If you guessed that it was Drake and J. Cole’s bonus cut from For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition, you would be correct. In addition to that deluxe version, Drake also released just the instrumentals for the extra songs. He partially did this, so that he could challenge other rappers to tackle the beats.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Evil Ways FREESTYLE,” by Ransom? Do you think anyone can top his performance on this beat, why or why not? Is this the best song from the Scary Hours Edition of For All The Dogs? What other rappers would be good on this instrumental? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Ransom and Drake. Furthermore, stay with us for all of the best song releases throughout the week.

Them cute little sixteens probably only get Josh Giddey
You know him from a dark city sharks bit me
Think I’m hypnotized ’cause I ain’t been in an SUV since we lost Biggie
I still got scars with me that’s the devil’s rent benevolent
I know the smell of dead bodies but still I’m heaven sent

Drake Awkwardly Stares At Back-Flipping Tourist In Turks & Caicos: Watch

If there’s any rapper that the internet never has a problem turning into a meme, it’s Drake. We’ve seen the father of one go viral for everything from painting his nails pink to wearing clips in his hair, but this time, it’s his resting b**ch face that has our attention. While vacationing in Turks and Caicos recently, someone caught a video of the Canadian soaking up some sunshine with his friends. The beautiful blue water behind him was stunning, but it wasn’t enough to distract Drake from the gymnastics spectacle unfolding in front of him.

In the clip below, the Scorpion artist sits on a bench, scrolling on his phone as a shirtless tourist performs backflips in the area. After successfully landing the first one, the stranger had Drake’s attention, though the look on his face made it unclear whether he was annoyed by the disturbance or impressed by the athleticism. As the flipper prepares to go for another round, the rapper shifts his entire body around to get a better view, watching on with the same confusing expression as the tourist flies around in the air.

Drake Enjoys Time Off in the Sunshine Before Tour

After @ourgenerationmusic reposted the video, it wasn’t long before Lil Yachty jumped in the comments to tease his friend. “😂😂😂😂😂😂😂,” he wrote. Elsewhere, others compared Drake to Druski, who also often goes viral for simply being himself. “Drake about to use that moment as a reference in a song like, ‘Sitting at the dock at Turks at a sky view, as I’m watching kickflips and backflips from the side view,’” someone else joked.

When Drake returns from his tropical vacation, it won’t be long before he and J. Cole head out on the road together. They recently added 10 extra dates to their It’s All A Blur – Big As The What? tour, meaning you’ll have even more opportunities to hear Drizzy perform his biggest hits from For All The Dogs and other classics. Check out the full list of upcoming shows at the link below, and tap back in with HNHH later.

After Their Missing ‘For All The Dogs’ Collab, Nicki Minaj And Drake Reunite On ‘Needle,’ Which Also Features A SZA Cameo

Nicki Minaj’s highly anticipated new album Pink Friday 2 has arrived as one of the final major releases of 2023. Given Minaj’s star power, she was able to pull some big-time collaborators into the fold for the project. That includes longtime associate Drake, who features on “Needle.”

The track also features a surprise cameo from SZA via a sampled voicemail that introduces the track. She says, “I mean, I don’t know if I like girls, I saw Sheila at Seraphin. Maybe we had too much tequila. Actually, yeah, we definitely had too much tequila ’cause I don’t know why I’m even playin’ on your phone right now. I’ma just block you, bye.”

Drake offers the song’s first verse and a catchy chorus, on which he sing-raps, “Pull up the Maybach and bend your leg back / Let’s engage that, don’t delay that / You’re like a needle, life’s a haystack / Friends they can leave us, you could stay back.”

This collaboration resolves the For All The Dogs situation: A link-up between the two was previously teased, but when Drake’s latest album dropped, Minaj was nowhere to be found on it. Now, though, they finally managed to make something happen before the year ended.

Listen to “Needle” above.

Pink Friday 2 is out now via Young Money/Republic Records. Find more information here.

Sexyy Red Opens Up On How “Rich Baby Daddy” Came To Be

Earlier this month, Sexyy Red dropped the deluxe version of her breakout album Hood Hottest Princess. The album was originally released earlier this year and served as her breakthrough moment. It dropped off the strength of “Pound Town 2” which featured Nicki Minaj and spawned even more hits like “SkeeYee” and “Hellcats SRTs.” The deluxe version added an entire 11 new songs which are stacked with big features. Chief Keef, 42 Dugg, G Herbo, Summer Walker, and Sukihana all appear on the new tracks from the deluxe edition.

Earlier this week Sexyy Red teamed up with Billboard to answer some fan questions on Threads. She discussed numerous tracks from her debut album and the deluxe edition. She also dove into some of the collaborations that resulted in those tracks. But Sexyy also had something to say about the making of one of her biggest songs to date “Rich Baby Daddy” with Drake and SZA. The song landed on Drake’s new album For All The Dogs and has already racked up more than 90 million streams. It’s also still hovering inside the top 30 of the Hot 100. When asked about how the track came together, Red kept it brief. “Me and Drake already was cool ever since he brought me on his tour. We talked about doing songs then he put SZA on it,” she explained. Check out all the questions she answered below.

Sexyy Red Answers Fan Questions

Last week, Sexyy Red had an Instagram live that left fans particularly curious. In the live, she made references to the Illuminati and secret societies and claimed that she couldn’t get out of the music industry because she’s making too much money. While many think she was joking some took her at face value and tried to dissect what exactly she would be talking about.

The comments resulted in a few jokes made at Red’s expense by Nick Cannon on his podcast earlier this week. What do you think of Sexyy Red’s brief explanation of how she ended up on Drake’s song “Rich Baby Daddy?” Let us know in the comment section below.

The Game Joins The Conversation On Israel-Palestine Conflict: ‘How Are We Allowing This?’

The Game

The Game has joined the growing list of artists using their platforms to speak out against the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The Los Angeles rapper took to his social media, revealing deep concern.

The Game Talks Israel-Palestine Conflict

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Dec. 5, The Game revealed his deep concern for the children caught in the crossfire of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Referring to his children, he admitted that he couldn’t fathom the pain of losing one of them and empathized with the parents in Gaza who were witnessing their children being murdered.

”Some people don’t want to see this …some do want to very much so be aware but can’t stomach the images. I have children. 3 to be exact & I’m sorry to say that if anything happened to 1 of them I don’t know if I could pull it together for the other 2,” he said.

https://www.instagram.com/p/C0e3NOfrrSL/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

The Game reflected on his upbringing, stating that he was “surrounded by everything that strips a child of harmony.” He also expressed sorrow for the parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents witnessing their children being killed in Gaza.

“I don’t know the exact number of those babies who have perished at this point but last time I checked it was nearing or over 10,000. I can’t say I’m the most religious…I can’t say I’m on any side other than that of these children.”

‘How Are We Allowing This?’

The conflict started on Oct. 7 when Palestinian-led Hamas led an invasion of Israel. Since then, Israel has responded by constantly bombing Palestinians in Gaza, which has resulted in over 16,000 Palestinian deaths, according to Reuters

The Game would later plead by asking why adults put children in those dangerous and deadly situations.

“How are we allowing this as a human race?? What kind of people…ADULT people in positions of power from any country in this world chilling while these kids are getting blew to pieces?!?!?”

The “How We Do” rapper ended the post by saying:

“Truly saddened by everything that I’m witnessing & have witnessed over the past almost 2 months. Hard to enjoy my day knowing someone out there might never enjoy another one as long as they live.”

Users in the comment section reacted to The Game’s statements. One user named @tvctara commented “Finally someone with a large platform speaking up,” and one other user named @sj_d93 commented “THANK YOU GAME! FREE PALESTINE. ITS A GENOCIDE GOING ON!.”

Kid Cudi Joins Drake, Kehlani & Others To Advocate For Peace In Palestine: ‘I’ll Always Encourage Peace’

Kid Cudi has recently expressed his support for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict. His stance aligns with artists like Drake and Kehlani, who are part of the Artists 4 Ceasefire initiative, which recently penned an open letter to President Joe Biden and the United States Congress. The letter appeals for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel, condemning the loss of lives in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

Artists Team Up To Call For Ceasefire

Kid Cudi has recently spoken out and called for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war. This comes amidst artists such as Drake and Kehlani, who joined the initiative called Artists 4 Ceasefire, penning an open letter to President Joe Biden and the United States Congress.

Other artists who have signed the petition include Killer Mike, Vic Mensa, Victoria Monét, and many others.  Mensa posted on his Instagram on October 27, simply commenting, “Ceasefire” and promoting the open letter.

The letter appeals for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel, condemning the loss of lives in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The letter states:

“Dear President Biden,

We come together as artists and advocates, but most importantly as human beings witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Israel and Palestine. We ask that, as President of the United States, you and the US Congress call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost. More than 5,000 people have been killed in the last week and a half – a number any person of conscience knows is catastrophic. We believe all life is sacred, no matter faith or ethnicity and we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians.”

Kid Cudi Speaks Out

Kid Cudi took to Instagram on Nov. 5 to express his heartfelt sentiments, stating that he cannot remain silent in the face of such devastation and that as an artist, he feels responsible for giving voice to the unheard.

“The things I’ve been seeing in the news have been breaking my heart,” he began. “I can’t watch what’s happening in the world and remain silent. I can’t imagine the pain people are feeling. “I know some people are gonna disagree with me, but that’s ok. As a Black man, I stand against all forms of oppression. And as an artist, I feel responsible to give a voice to the unheard, and to celebrate the spirit of all people through my work and my presence. It matters to me that my art represents my deepest beliefs about what I think humanity can look like.”

The “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper also hoped that both nations could have peace and that the loss of lives would stop:

“I’m hopeful we won’t attack each other on the basis of upholding basic human rights. I’ll always encourage peace for everyone – physical peace, mental peace, spiritual peace. No matter the religion or ethnicity, the loss of innocent lives is never acceptable.” Kid Cudi also condemned any violence towards the Jewish people and that Anti-Semitism is “never welcome.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CzRY-1UR-sj/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

‘Everybody Wrong’

Kid Cudi would later end his post by calling for a ceasefire and wishing for freedom for Palestine:

“I stand with the people of Palestine as they demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the ongoing genocide. My heart goes out to all my brothers and sisters of all faiths and backgrounds who are suffering. Free Palestine!! With Love, Scott. [Kid Cudi’s real name].”

In a recent interview with SOHH, hip-hop legend KRS-ONE shared his perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict, stating that “everybody wrong,” and that Israel should not control Palestine’s land.

On a more positive note, Kid Cudi is set to return to the stage as the hip-hop headliner for ComplexCon, an event set to take place in Long Beach, California. The event is set to take place between November 18-19.

DJ Khaled Faces Backlash

Amidst the artists openly supporting Palestine, DJ Khaled, of Palestinian descent, faced criticism for his silence regarding the Israel-Palestine war. Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, questioning why he had not spoken up on the matter.

Akbar V Finally Meets Drake At Houston Strip Club After Years Of Thirsting

Drake has been a busy guy throughout 2023. The Canadian superstar went on one of the most successful tours this calendar year with the It’s All A Blur Tour. Plenty of celebrities and guest rappers accompanied him throughout tons of locations in the United States. Then, Drake delivered his highly-anticipated release, For All The Dogs. While it was a bit disappointing for some, especially after fans felt the got hoodwinked out of hearing the “old Drake,” it was a massive success regardless.

He also followed it up quickly with the Scary Hours Edition, which added six more rap-centric cuts. That was a welcome surprise with him saying he was thinking about taking a year or two off. Now, he has some downtime before the extension of his previous tour gets a second leg with J. Cole. Big As The What? kicks off in mid-January. The Boy popped out to a Houston strip club for a night out, and he ran into a die-hard fan.

Akbar V, a female rapper, reality star, and YouTuber, has been keeping her eye on Drake’s dating status for years. Some of her tweets relating to him date back to early 2021. She hilariously attempted to shoot her shot at him after he posted some thirst-trap-worthy photos that showed off his gym progress. Akbar took it a step further, seeing as she liked what the rapper was packing if you catch our drift. “And I was wondering, could I test drive it?” All of those attempts finally paid dividends as both got to meet each other in person for the first time. She posted a picture with her dream man on Instagram with them hugging. The caption reads, “Icky @champagnepapi the illest n**** to do this shiii #privateparty.”

What are your initial thoughts on Drake and Akbar V meeting at a strip club in Houston? Why do you think it took so long for these two to finally link? Do Drake & Metro Boomin Have Beef?

metro boomin
Getty Image

Metro Boomin has had a stellar year so far. Since the release of his second studio album Heroes & Villains a year ago (December 2), the prolific producer has soundtracked one of the year’s biggest superhero movies, created alongside the incarcerated Young Thug, and even performed with a symphony orchestra.

But, as with many ambitious artists, even that hasn’t been enough for him — and unfortunately, his aspirations have put him into conflict with one of his equally successful peers. Fans are convinced that Metro has beef with Drake after the producer tweeted his frustration at Heroes & Villains being overshadowed by Drake’s 2022 album with 21 Savage, Her Loss. “Her Loss still keeps winning rap album of the year over H&V,” he wrote in response to a conversation about the disparity between the two albums’ streaming totals. “Proof that awards shows are just politics and not for me. [I don’t care] about awards honestly, the true award and reward is knowing that the music I spend so much time on brings joy to peoples everyday lives.”

While it’s unclear just which “rap album of the year” nod Metro is referring to (several publications had already posted their “Best Albums of 2023” lists at the time of the now-deleted tweet), a recent post on Drake’s Instagram Story was interpreted as a response. Posting a clip from Jay-Z’s 2001 Blueprint standout “Heart Of The City (Ain’t No Love),” Drake higlighted one line in particular. “Damn, little mans, I’m just trying to do me,” Jay raps. “If the record’s two mil, I’m just trying to move three.”

Does this consitute beef, per se? Not in my book (or Biggie’s, or Yasiin Bey’s, for that matter), but y’all like to see people argue on Twitter. Have fun with that. Meanwhile, Uproxx’s Best Albums of 2023 list is out now, so maybe you’ll get even more intenret play fights to keep you entertained.

Tyla Had A Feeling Drake Was Going To Follow Her Back On Social Media: “He’s Gonna Come”

Tyla has been rising through the ranks (and the charts) at a rapid rate over the past few months. It is due to her incredible singing talent that she displayed on her breakout hit single, “Water.” The song dropped back on July 28 and has continued to pile up the streams. It currently sits at over 217 million. Because of this Tyla’s hot summer-ready jam is now at the highest it has ever been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, right at the tenth spot.

Additionally, the South African pop artist recently put out some remixes to the song to add some unique flavor. Travis Scott and EDM megstar producer, Marshmello, each have their versions. “Water” and its remix with the Houston rapper are going to be a part of her debut self-titled album. Apple Music says the LP will be out on March 1, 2024. Tyla gave some fans more to chew on sonically with promotional tracks “On and On,” “Butterflies,” and “Truth or Dare.”

At some point, Tyla was going to receive some co-signs from other popular artists. One of them was Drake. In a recent interview with Big Boy, the 21-year-old phenom was waiting for a follow back from the Canadian icon. “Definitely Drake because I was lowkey waiting for him. Because I knew he’s gonna come, he’s gonna come.” Sure enough, he did accept the request on Instagram. The comments underneath the post are making the running the joke that whenever a new female artist begins to pop off, he keeps tabs on them for about a year and then unfollows them. One person says, “She knows that Drake follows every new girlie that takes off in the business just like we know! 🤣😂” Another goes, “He bouta unfollow her when he sees this w his sassy self.”

Tyla also hinted at some material coming with him, but she said, ‘I’m silenced.” What are your initial thoughts on these comments by Tyla? Why do you think she was waiting for Drake’s follow the most? Could you see these two working on music together? Do you think the jokes being made in the comments are accurate?
