Drake Joins The Broken Hearts Club (Yes, Again) In His Moody ‘Polar Opposites’ Video

Drake has plenty of reasons to be happy these days, including the knowledge that he’s got the top rap track on Billboard‘s year-end charts. But to be so rich and (mostly) well-liked, Drake sure seems sad a lot. He certainly is in his latest video from For All The Dogs, “Polar Opposites,” which finds him hanging out playing pool and smoking with a few older gentlemen wearing matching red leather jackets (no Michael… but also probably yes, another allusion to that record he and Drake share). The implication appears to be that Drake’s too busy making boss moves with other bosses (big Bada Bing! from Sopranos energy here) to worry about having a broken heart — and yet.

Fortunately for those who are a little over Drake being so maudlin all the time, the deluxe version of the album — For All The Dogs: Scary Hours — adds five new tracks of Drake rapping like his life depends on it, including another tag team collaboration with J. Cole. The two rappers’ chemistry has been off the charts lately, resulting in the song “First Person Shooter” — J. Cole’s first No. 1 on the Hot 100 — and their upcoming It’s All A Blur — Big As The What? Tour, which they extended with ten new dates after the deluxe version dropped.

Drake Drops A Surprise Music Video For “Polar Opposites”

Drake’s For All The Dogs has been a controversial release once again. That was especially true at the initial release, but it seems the tone is changing. More and more listeners are starting to see what Drizzy was going for on this record. So much so in fact, that the album recently surpassed one million units sold in the United States. All of the success is attributed to the amount of hits across the tracklist. You have the obvious ones like “Slime You Out,” “First Person Shooter,” “IDGAF,” and “8am in Charlotte.”

Additionally, Drake dropped the deluxe version, For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition. That too had an effect on the performance. Of, course, music videos are a natural byproduct of a new album or single, and Drake wanted to bring another one out. The first one was “8am in Charlotte” which featured some cameos of his son Adonis.

Watch The Music Video For “Polar Opposites” By Drake

We also received ones for “Another Late Night,” and “First Person Shooter.” Now, Drake is back with one for the closing R&B cut, “Polar Opposites.” The visuals are moody and somber, sort of like the song. It features the Canadian rapper singing on a balcony overlooking the gorgeous night sky. There are also shots of him and some friends playing billiards while wearing red leather jackets.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new music video for Drake’s “Polar Opposites” from For All The Dogs? Is this the best song from the album? Where does this rank amongst his R&B cuts throughout his career? Does he make the best visuals for his songs? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Conway The Machine Gives Kudos To Drake For “8am In Charlotte”

Buffalo, New York rapper Conway the Machine has been on a torrent run. He continues to feed fans with tons of music, dropping single after single. In addition, he has three projects out right now, with a handful more on the way soon. With that in mind, it is probably hard for Conway to hear a lot of the new music that has been coming out this year. Typically, when artists are constantly working on their own material, it is rare they have enough time to check out what is hot.

However, that seems to be the opposite here, as Conway recently shouted out an icon in the game. The rapper were are talking about here is Drake. Of course, he came out with his massive album, For All The Dogs, about a month ago as we all know by now. There have been a lot of big-time songs on it like “Slime You Out,” “First Person Shooter,” and more. One of them to include in that mix is “8am in Charlotte,” adding another installment into his time stamp series.

Drake rarely misses when it is a time-related title and Conway agrees. In the video clip above, he talks about the track in a very positive light. He said things like “that s*** was fire,” and even gave a shout-out to the producer, Conductor Williams. He had a huge hand in the beat crafting for the album. Conductor, of course, has tons of credits on Conway songs as well. Conway also mentioned how Drake might have taken some inspiration from him, but he does not mind one bit. He has tons of respect for him, and that is a wonderful thing to hear.

What are your initial thoughts on Conway the Machine giving Drake love for his performance on “8am in Charlotte?” Do you agree with Conway that the song is really good? Is it still in your rotation? Where does it rank amongst the rest of the For All The Dogs tracklist? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Drake’s “For All The Dogs” Hits One Million Units Sold In The U.S.

Drake just knows how to produce big numbers with every album release. Even with him releasing six more tracks in just about a month, he was still able to move 143,000 copies. Of course, we are referencing the expanded edition of his latest record. After saying he was going to take maybe a year off from doing much musically, Drizzy dropped a bombshell. For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition came out this past Friday, November 17, and it truly shocked a lot of people.

The Canadian superstar grabbed some production from Conductor Williams and The Alchemist, to name a couple. Additionally, he nabbed another J. Cole feature on “Evil Ways.” Finally, to top it off, Drake wrote all of these six tracks within about a five-day period. “I did those songs in the last five days. I didn’t have one bar written down for those songs on the night that For All the Dogs dropped.”

The Drake craze has always been real and this latest milestone further proves that. While it was bound to happen at one point, the deluxe version selling the amount it did, pushed For All The Dogs to the one million units sold mark. His work ethic is unreal and because of that, another record hits seven digits. Congratulations to Drake for continuing to dominate the music industry.

What are your initial thoughts on Drake’s For All The Dogs hitting one million copies sold in the U.S.? Is this the Canadian rapper’s best album in the last five years? Canadian Rapper Drake Embraces His Newfound Scottish Roots

Jim Jones Makes Drake Dipset’s Official Fifth Member

Actor-turned-rapper Drake, known for his global musical influence and numerous chart-topping hits, has recently unveiled a surprising connection to Scotland. The 37-year-old Canadian, born Aubrey Graham received this revelation through a DNA testing kit ordered by his father, Dennis.

While the pair expected to discover ties to Nigeria and Cameroon, the discovery of Scottish ancestry added an unexpected layer to Drake’s heritage. The revelation brings him into the fold of the millions of North Americans who can claim Scottish roots.

Drake’s connection to Scotland became particularly significant after he performed two unforgettable gigs in Glasgow back in 2017. During those performances, he proudly declared himself a member of the Tartan Army, as reported by the Daily Record.

Expressing his gratitude to his Scottish fans, Drake reminisced, saying, “I am grateful for every fan that turns up to see me perform, but I will always remember being in Scotland in 2017; it was an unforgettable experience. Over those two nights, Scotland gave me two of the most insane crowds I have ever experienced. The Tartan Army took me into their hearts, and I took them into mine right back. Ever since then, I have felt part Scottish.”

Reflecting on the importance of understanding one’s heritage, especially regarding ancestry and ethnicity, Drake shared, “I have always been so interested in ancestry and ethnicity – I feel it is so important to have an understanding about who you are and what makes up your DNA. My dad had his ancestry looked into, and while the biggest percentages were Nigeria and Cameroon, we actually had it confirmed that we do have some Scottish ancestry, so that probably explains the love Scotland and I have for each other.”

Drake’s “Scary Hours” Mixtapes, Ranked

Last Friday, Drake reissued his latest album, For All the Dogs, with a “Scary Hours Edition,” featuring six new songs as a separate disc. Produced by the likes of Conductor Williams, The Alchemist, Ovrkast, and Lil Yachty, Drake’s latest batch of tracks comes just over a month after his 23-track album. Informally titled Scary Hours 3, the new project has been primarily well-received compared to the mixed reception of For All the Dogs.

Drake also recently shared the instrumentals to his latest rap-heavy deluxe edition. Scary Hours 3 is noticeably longer than its predecessors, almost acting as a standalone work compared to the shorter EPs that helped promote his studio albums. With Drake’s latest release still fresh and in rotation, we rank the Scary Hours EPs from least to greatest. Take a look at the list below.

3. Scary Hours (2018)

The first Scary Hours EP arrived in January of 2018. The two-song project notably included “God’s Plan,” which eventually became one of Drake’s biggest singles yet. Also on the first Scary Hours was “Diplomatic Immunity,” a trap song that name-checked Jennifer Lopez in its lyrics and referenced Dipset with its title. With “God’s Plan” eventually becoming the lead single from Scorpion later that year, Scary Hours ultimately came and went as an insignificant moment in the scope of Drake’s discography. As the shortest and least exciting installment in the series, it ranks at the bottom of the Scary Hours EP’s.

2. Scary Hours 2 (2021)

Released ahead of Certified Lover Boy, Scary Hours 2 is a strong EP that compels listeners throughout its three songs. While only 12 minutes in length, the project was varied in production and style. Drake certainly excited fans as he opened Scary Hours 2 with the energetic “What’s Next.” The song “Wants and Needs” saw Drake confidently rap over a menacing beat. Lil Baby contributed an admirable verse to the song, impressively flowing after Drake’s catchy and melodic chorus. Drake ended the EP with “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” a 6-minute track where he and Rick Ross spit bars over a soulful beat, displaying their long-lasting chemistry. Overall, Scary Hours 2 fulfilled its task of satisfying fans before the eventual release of Certified Lover Boy, leaving them hoping for more.

1. For All The Dogs, Scary Hours Edition (2023)

Scary Hours 3 is the only installment in the series released almost immediately after a major Drake studio album. Acting as both a deluxe and a standalone project, it contains some of Drake’s best rapping in recent memory, surpassing the standard edition of For All the Dogs. The rap-driven project sees Drake responding to his toughest critics, sending shots at Joe Budden and Pusha T, as well as people missing the “old Drake.”

Chorus-free songs like “Red Button” and “Stories About My Brother” feature some of Drake’s sharpest bars, while “The Shoe Fits” points out the faults of those who scrutinize him online. He and J. Cole prove to be an even match as they go back and forth on “Evil Ways” before shrugging off his exes on “You Broke My Heart.”

Easily the best-produced project out of the series, Scary Hours 3 is Drake at his most vengeful. He delivers the lyricism and charisma that For All the Dogs somewhat lacked, silencing his biggest critics. A concise listen, it plays like a complete body of work.
